ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Why do so many talented, intelligent people fail to achieve the results they want?
In this powerful episode of Speaking With Authority, Jim Koetting welcomes Dre Baldwin, former professional basketball player, entrepreneur, author, and founder of Work On Your Game.
Dre argues that success has far less to do with motivation and far more to do with execution. Drawing from his experiences in professional sports, business, speaking, and coaching, he explains why discipline is not a personality trait, but the natural result of structure and consistent behavior.
The conversation explores the gap between knowing and doing, why uncertainty causes so many people to quit, how leaders unintentionally create the very problems they blame on their teams, and why accountability must be built into systems rather than enforced through personality. Dre also shares his perspective on authority, confidence, momentum, personal responsibility, and what separates top performers from everyone else.
Whether you're leading a company, building a business, managing a team, or simply trying to improve your own consistency, this episode offers practical wisdom and thought-provoking insights that challenge conventional leadership thinking.
