5
00:00:17.489 --> 00:00:20.329
Brandi join us right now from South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.
6
00:00:20.350 --> 00:00:21.789
This is the first time you've been in the studio.
7
00:00:21.829 --> 00:00:23.899
Welcome. It is. Very cool. Yes. Thank you for having me.
8
00:00:23.910 --> 00:00:24.579
Excited to have you here.
9
00:00:24.640 --> 00:00:27.719
And we've got a beautiful concert coming up October 24th,
10
00:00:27.839 --> 00:00:29.199
America the Beautiful.
11
00:00:29.300 --> 00:00:29.460
Yes.
12
00:00:29.539 --> 00:00:31.839
And let's talk a little bit about this concert. Have
13
00:00:31.859 --> 00:00:33.979
you done this particular show before or is this the
14
00:00:34.020 --> 00:00:34.399
first time?
15
00:00:34.520 --> 00:00:36.799
This is the first time we've done this particular show.
16
00:00:36.909 --> 00:00:39.189
So this is our way of celebrating America's 250th.
17
00:00:40.369 --> 00:00:41.030
I love that.
18
00:00:41.210 --> 00:00:43.700
And it's a really unique way that we're doing it.
19
00:00:43.770 --> 00:00:47.950
So it's going to be American music roots. So it's gospel,
20
00:00:48.869 --> 00:00:52.829
it's rhythm and blues, it's jazz, it's ragtime. It's going
21
00:00:52.850 --> 00:00:55.170
to be high energy, just a lot of fun. We're
22
00:00:55.210 --> 00:00:56.729
going back to those roots for the music.
23
00:00:57.350 --> 00:00:59.369
I am so excited for this. And I hope that
24
00:00:59.409 --> 00:01:01.810
this opens a door for some new people to be
25
00:01:01.990 --> 00:01:04.090
introduced to the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.
26
00:01:04.109 --> 00:01:04.180
Yes.
27
00:01:04.189 --> 00:01:06.430
Because there are probably some people in their mind that
28
00:01:06.450 --> 00:01:08.000
are going, That's not at all what I thought the
29
00:01:08.040 --> 00:01:09.640
symphony was going to be because the stuff you just
30
00:01:09.680 --> 00:01:12.359
mentioned is so different than what I was thinking. But
31
00:01:12.739 --> 00:01:15.420
if this is their first experience, this probably won't be
32
00:01:15.459 --> 00:01:15.939
their last.
33
00:01:16.120 --> 00:01:18.659
Right. This is the perfect way to introduce you to
34
00:01:18.700 --> 00:01:19.319
the orchestra.
35
00:01:19.379 --> 00:01:20.439
It's like a gateway show.
36
00:01:20.549 --> 00:01:25.390
It's a gateway show. Definitely. We do encourage you to experience,
37
00:01:25.450 --> 00:01:28.810
you know, a good old classical symphony concert, of course.
38
00:01:28.870 --> 00:01:29.010
Yes.
39
00:01:29.549 --> 00:01:31.150
If you've never been to one, this is the perfect
40
00:01:31.450 --> 00:01:32.450
first one to go to.
41
00:01:32.609 --> 00:01:32.909
Absolutely.
42
00:01:32.930 --> 00:01:33.670
America the Beautiful.
43
00:01:33.709 --> 00:01:36.370
Again, it's October 24th, so it sounds like it's so
44
00:01:36.430 --> 00:01:37.829
far away, but we're going to blink.
45
00:01:37.709 --> 00:01:38.829
Our eyes and it's going to be here.
46
00:01:38.969 --> 00:01:40.109
It's going to be here. Yes.
47
00:01:40.409 --> 00:01:42.310
If somebody would like to get tickets to this, do
48
00:01:42.329 --> 00:01:45.349
they need to be members of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra?
49
00:01:45.530 --> 00:01:47.750
There's like a whole group they can join to be members.
50
00:01:47.769 --> 00:01:48.870
They need members or do they.
51
00:01:48.769 --> 00:01:49.469
Just buy tickets?
52
00:01:49.769 --> 00:01:52.310
So you can subscribe. There is still time to subscribe.
53
00:01:52.390 --> 00:01:54.950
So we offer concert season packages and that's what we
54
00:01:54.989 --> 00:01:56.069
call you a subscriber.
55
00:01:56.090 --> 00:01:56.329
A subscriber.
56
00:01:56.849 --> 00:01:59.900
So those are still available until opening night, October 3rd.
57
00:02:00.120 --> 00:02:02.900
So we definitely encourage that. You save money that way.
58
00:02:02.959 --> 00:02:06.260
A lot of benefits you don't get from the general
59
00:02:06.299 --> 00:02:07.760
public with subscribing.
60
00:02:08.180 --> 00:02:09.419
And then you're in the club.
61
00:02:09.639 --> 00:02:10.379
And you're in the club.
62
00:02:10.430 --> 00:02:11.469
You're cool.
63
00:02:11.750 --> 00:02:11.969
Yes.
64
00:02:12.069 --> 00:02:13.319
All the cool kids are doing it.
65
00:02:14.129 --> 00:02:16.409
Otherwise, yes, single tickets are on sale. So definitely check
66
00:02:16.430 --> 00:02:19.169
those out. You can find it all at our website, sdsymphony.org.
67
00:02:19.900 --> 00:02:20.939
Very nice.
68
00:02:21.039 --> 00:02:25.759
And this concert in particular, America the Beautiful, our lead artist,
69
00:02:25.939 --> 00:02:32.039
Byron Stripling is phenomenal. He oozes this music. His smile
70
00:02:32.120 --> 00:02:34.250
alone will light up the concert hall. He's just full
71
00:02:34.280 --> 00:02:37.430
of joy. He's going to be amazing and fascinating to watch.
72
00:02:37.469 --> 00:02:40.550
He's a trumpet player. He sings and he conducts and
73
00:02:40.569 --> 00:02:43.849
he's doing all three. And he's also bringing Mamie Paris,
74
00:02:44.110 --> 00:02:47.590
a singer who her voice can cut glass. It's so pure,
75
00:02:47.610 --> 00:02:51.150
so powerful. It's going to be an awesome night. Yes.
76
00:02:51.229 --> 00:02:54.550
Again, it's coming up on October 24th. It's called America
77
00:02:54.689 --> 00:02:56.569
the Beautiful. And if you'd like to get tickets, now
78
00:02:56.610 --> 00:02:57.490
is a good time to do that.
79
00:02:57.610 --> 00:02:58.509
Again, what's the website?
80
00:02:58.909 --> 00:03:00.909
SDSymphony.org. All right.
81
00:03:00.969 --> 00:03:01.330
Very nice.
82
00:03:01.349 --> 00:03:02.830
So get your tickets and get out and be a
83
00:03:02.849 --> 00:03:05.370
part of it. And if you've never been to the symphony.
84
00:03:06.080 --> 00:03:08.759
This would be the coolest thing to do to surprise
85
00:03:08.780 --> 00:03:10.439
your loved one and say, guess what we're going to do?
86
00:03:10.460 --> 00:03:11.419
We're going to go to the symphony.
87
00:03:12.120 --> 00:03:14.340
And what a cool first time if you've never done this.
88
00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:16.379
Again, America the Beautiful. I'm excited. I think it's going
89
00:03:16.400 --> 00:03:16.759
to be a great time.
90
00:03:16.800 --> 00:03:18.780
Yes. And I also want to mention that we are
91
00:03:18.840 --> 00:03:21.919
giving a discount to our vets. Oh, very nice. 50% off.
92
00:03:22.340 --> 00:03:23.000
Oh, fantastic.
93
00:03:23.020 --> 00:03:25.960
For this concert. So use the promo code VETERAN. Okay.
94
00:03:26.080 --> 00:03:28.500
Of course, for active military as well. But use that
95
00:03:28.539 --> 00:03:31.110
promo code veteran when you're purchasing online or when you
96
00:03:31.129 --> 00:03:33.990
stop in at the box office at the Washington Pavilion.
97
00:03:34.030 --> 00:03:35.590
You can also just walk in and do it too.
98
00:03:35.669 --> 00:03:35.949
You can.
99
00:03:35.969 --> 00:03:36.389
And you know what?
100
00:03:36.830 --> 00:03:38.669
That's kind of fun because then when you go in,
101
00:03:38.990 --> 00:03:41.270
you get to interact with a person. Nothing against, I
102
00:03:41.310 --> 00:03:42.569
love the convenience of the computer.
103
00:03:42.620 --> 00:03:45.240
That's cool. But there's just something about talking to people
104
00:03:45.280 --> 00:03:45.560
that I like.
105
00:03:45.580 --> 00:03:46.460
Yes, absolutely.
106
00:03:46.759 --> 00:03:48.460
Well, thank you so much for coming in and being
107
00:03:48.479 --> 00:03:50.620
a part of, like coming into the studio and chatting.
108
00:03:50.639 --> 00:03:52.620
Because usually we do this stuff over the phone. And
109
00:03:52.639 --> 00:03:54.180
she's like, well, I could call you or we could
110
00:03:54.199 --> 00:03:55.330
do it. I'm like, hey, come in.
111
00:03:55.370 --> 00:03:55.759
That's fun.
112
00:03:55.939 --> 00:03:56.629
Love coming in.
113
00:03:56.830 --> 00:03:58.590
There you go. Well, thank you again for all that
114
00:03:58.610 --> 00:03:59.009
you guys do.
115
00:03:59.050 --> 00:04:02.750
South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, again, bringing beautiful music to our
116
00:04:02.830 --> 00:04:05.069
area and giving us a little taste of culture that
117
00:04:05.090 --> 00:04:06.110
we absolutely need here.
118
00:04:06.150 --> 00:04:06.330
Yes.
119
00:04:07.229 --> 00:04:09.050
And this is going to be a fun one. Again,
120
00:04:09.110 --> 00:04:13.020
it's coming up on October 24th, America the Beautiful. And
121
00:04:13.080 --> 00:04:14.599
I would love for you to buy tickets. We are
122
00:04:14.639 --> 00:04:16.720
giving away a couple of pair of tickets, but don't
123
00:04:16.740 --> 00:04:19.439
wait on that. Get on, get your tickets. And then
124
00:04:19.459 --> 00:04:20.959
if you win some tickets, you can bring a friend
125
00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:21.319
as well.
126
00:04:21.420 --> 00:04:21.540
Yes.
127
00:04:22.069 --> 00:04:24.550
All of the details, again, at sdsymphony.org.

And we've got a beautiful concert coming up October 24th,

00:00:27.839 --> 00:00:29.199
America the Beautiful.
11
00:00:29.300 --> 00:00:29.460
Yes.
12
00:00:29.539 --> 00:00:31.839
And let's talk a little bit about this concert. Have
13
00:00:31.859 --> 00:00:33.979
you done this particular show before or is this the

This is the first time we've done this particular show.
16
00:00:36.909 --> 00:00:39.189
So this is our way of celebrating America's 250th.
17
00:00:40.369 --> 00:00:41.030

Yes.

If you've never been to one, this is the perfect

41
00:01:32.609 --> 00:01:32.909
Absolutely.
42
00:01:32.930 --> 00:01:33.670
America the Beautiful.
43
00:01:33.709 --> 00:01:36.370
Again, it's October 24th, so it sounds like it's so

It's going to be here. Yes.

If somebody would like to get tickets to this, do

they need to be members of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra?

00:01:45.530 --> 00:01:47.750
There's like a whole group they can join to be members.
50
00:01:47.769 --> 00:01:48.870
They need members or do they.
51
00:01:48.769 --> 00:01:49.469
Just buy tickets?
52
00:01:49.769 --> 00:01:52.310
So you can subscribe. There is still time to subscribe.
53
00:01:52.390 --> 00:01:54.950
So we offer concert season packages and that's what we
54
00:01:54.989 --> 00:01:56.069
call you a subscriber.
55
00:01:56.090 --> 00:01:56.329
A subscriber.
56
00:01:56.849 --> 00:01:59.900
So those are still available until opening night, October 3rd.
57
00:02:00.120 --> 00:02:02.900
So we definitely encourage that. You save money that way.
58
00:02:02.959 --> 00:02:06.260
A lot of benefits you don't get from the general
59
00:02:06.299 --> 00:02:07.760
public with subscribing.
60
00:02:08.180 --> 00:02:09.419
And then you're in the club.
61
00:02:09.639 --> 00:02:10.379
And you're in the club.
62
00:02:10.430 --> 00:02:11.469
You're cool.
63
00:02:11.750 --> 00:02:11.969
Yes.
64
00:02:12.069 --> 00:02:13.319
All the cool kids are doing it.
65
00:02:14.129 --> 00:02:16.409
Otherwise, yes, single tickets are on sale. So definitely check
66
00:02:16.430 --> 00:02:19.169
those out. You can find it all at our website, sdsymphony.org.
67
00:02:19.900 --> 00:02:20.939
Very nice.
68
00:02:21.039 --> 00:02:25.759
And this concert in particular, America the Beautiful, our lead artist,
69
00:02:25.939 --> 00:02:32.039
Byron Stripling is phenomenal. He oozes this music. His smile
70
00:02:32.120 --> 00:02:34.250
alone will light up the concert hall. He's just full
71
00:02:34.280 --> 00:02:37.430
of joy. He's going to be amazing and fascinating to watch.
72
00:02:37.469 --> 00:02:40.550
He's a trumpet player. He sings and he conducts and
73
00:02:40.569 --> 00:02:43.849
he's doing all three. And he's also bringing Mamie Paris,
74
00:02:44.110 --> 00:02:47.590
a singer who her voice can cut glass. It's so pure,
75
00:02:47.610 --> 00:02:51.150
so powerful. It's going to be an awesome night. Yes.
76
00:02:51.229 --> 00:02:54.550
Again, it's coming up on October 24th. It's called America
77
00:02:54.689 --> 00:02:56.569
the Beautiful. And if you'd like to get tickets, now
78
00:02:56.610 --> 00:02:57.490
is a good time to do that.
79
00:02:57.610 --> 00:02:58.509
Again, what's the website?
80
00:02:58.909 --> 00:03:00.909
SDSymphony.org. All right.
81
00:03:00.969 --> 00:03:01.330
Very nice.
82
00:03:01.349 --> 00:03:02.830
So get your tickets and get out and be a
83
00:03:02.849 --> 00:03:05.370
part of it. And if you've never been to the symphony.
84
00:03:06.080 --> 00:03:08.759
This would be the coolest thing to do to surprise
85
00:03:08.780 --> 00:03:10.439
your loved one and say, guess what we're going to do?
86
00:03:10.460 --> 00:03:11.419
We're going to go to the symphony.
87
00:03:12.120 --> 00:03:14.340
And what a cool first time if you've never done this.
88
00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:16.379
Again, America the Beautiful. I'm excited. I think it's going
89
00:03:16.400 --> 00:03:16.759
to be a great time.
90
00:03:16.800 --> 00:03:18.780
Yes. And I also want to mention that we are
91
00:03:18.840 --> 00:03:21.919
giving a discount to our vets. Oh, very nice. 50% off.
92
00:03:22.340 --> 00:03:23.000
Oh, fantastic.
93
00:03:23.020 --> 00:03:25.960
For this concert. So use the promo code VETERAN. Okay.
94
00:03:26.080 --> 00:03:28.500
Of course, for active military as well. But use that
95
00:03:28.539 --> 00:03:31.110
promo code veteran when you're purchasing online or when you
96
00:03:31.129 --> 00:03:33.990
stop in at the box office at the Washington Pavilion.
97
00:03:34.030 --> 00:03:35.590
You can also just walk in and do it too.
98
00:03:35.669 --> 00:03:35.949
You can.
99
00:03:35.969 --> 00:03:36.389
And you know what?
100
00:03:36.830 --> 00:03:38.669
That's kind of fun because then when you go in,
101
00:03:38.990 --> 00:03:41.270
you get to interact with a person. Nothing against, I
102
00:03:41.310 --> 00:03:42.569
love the convenience of the computer.
103
00:03:42.620 --> 00:03:45.240
That's cool. But there's just something about talking to people
104
00:03:45.280 --> 00:03:45.560
that I like.
105
00:03:45.580 --> 00:03:46.460
Yes, absolutely.
106
00:03:46.759 --> 00:03:48.460
Well, thank you so much for coming in and being
107
00:03:48.479 --> 00:03:50.620
a part of, like coming into the studio and chatting.
108
00:03:50.639 --> 00:03:52.620
Because usually we do this stuff over the phone. And
109
00:03:52.639 --> 00:03:54.180
she's like, well, I could call you or we could
110
00:03:54.199 --> 00:03:55.330
do it. I'm like, hey, come in.
111
00:03:55.370 --> 00:03:55.759
That's fun.
112
00:03:55.939 --> 00:03:56.629
Love coming in.
113
00:03:56.830 --> 00:03:58.590
There you go. Well, thank you again for all that
114
00:03:58.610 --> 00:03:59.009
you guys do.
115
00:03:59.050 --> 00:04:02.750
South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, again, bringing beautiful music to our
116
00:04:02.830 --> 00:04:05.069
area and giving us a little taste of culture that
117
00:04:05.090 --> 00:04:06.110
we absolutely need here.
118
00:04:06.150 --> 00:04:06.330
Yes.
119
00:04:07.229 --> 00:04:09.050
And this is going to be a fun one. Again,
120
00:04:09.110 --> 00:04:13.020
it's coming up on October 24th, America the Beautiful. And
121
00:04:13.080 --> 00:04:14.599
I would love for you to buy tickets. We are
122
00:04:14.639 --> 00:04:16.720
giving away a couple of pair of tickets, but don't
123
00:04:16.740 --> 00:04:19.439
wait on that. Get on, get your tickets. And then
124
00:04:19.459 --> 00:04:20.959
if you win some tickets, you can bring a friend
125
00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:21.319
as well.
126
00:04:21.420 --> 00:04:21.540
Yes.
127
00:04:22.069 --> 00:04:24.550
All of the details, again, at sdsymphony.org.
