ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Tap to follow so you can return to this meditation whenever you need to be Softly Guided and revisit any part of this six-part self-esteem series.
This meditation is Part 6, the final episode in a series exploring the six pillars of self-esteem, based on Nathaniel Branden’s book The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem. If this series has resonated with you, I highly recommend reading the book alongside it.
The sixth pillar is Personal Integrity.
Personal integrity is about alignment — bringing your actions closer to the values, beliefs, and commitments that matter to you.
It does not mean being perfect, never making mistakes, or never changing your mind. It means noticing when the way you are living no longer reflects what you say is important to you, and being willing to return to greater honesty and alignment.
Each time you follow through on a meaningful promise to yourself, acknowledge a mistake, make a repair, or choose differently after realizing something is no longer right for you, you strengthen your ability to trust yourself.
This meditation will help you reflect on the values you want your life to represent and practice becoming someone whose own words, choices, and commitments carry meaning.
Your practice for the week: Notice the moments when your actions feel aligned with who you want to be, and the moments when they do not. When you notice a gap, consider one small action that would bring you back into alignment.
And remember: integrity is not about never getting it wrong. It is about being willing to notice, take responsibility, and return.
Thank you for joining me through all six pillars of self-esteem. You can return to any meditation in this series whenever you need support with a particular pillar.
