ABOUT THIS EPISODE
When the day is over but your thoughts are still moving, spend a little time resting in some of the Bible’s most peaceful and reassuring passages.
In this first Scripture for Rest episode, we begin with the words of Psalm 46: “Be still, and know that I am God.” From there, gentle readings from the Psalms remind us of God’s care, protection and constant presence.
We’ll continue into Isaiah with words of comfort, strength and perfect peace, then listen to Jesus’ invitation to the weary in Matthew 11 and His reassuring words in John 14: “Let not your heart be troubled.” The episode closes with Philippians 4, where Scripture turns our thoughts toward prayer, peace and whatever is true, honest, pure and lovely.
Let the music remain soft around you, allow the concerns of the day to become less important, and simply rest in God’s Word. You don’t need to follow every verse or stay awake until the end.
