ABOUT THIS EPISODE
The wheels officially come off in Part 2 of Episode 20 — and Zach Guyer joins the chaos.
The crew picks up right where Part 1 left off with one of the strangest craft-fair discoveries imaginable before heading down a seemingly endless collection of conversational rabbit holes.
Brian brings in the Find of the Week, a vintage Schenley whiskey decanter discovered in Warren, PA, which launches a conversation about the history of the Schenley Distillery, old liquor bottles, Western Pennsylvania history, and a mysterious vintage bottle of Schenley vodka that may eventually make its way into the studio.
Then things get musical.
Brian introduces the guys to Adriano Celentano's bizarre 1970s song designed to sound like English while actually being complete gibberish. Somehow that leads to Belgian music charts, The Three Degrees, 1970s music, TV shows named after food, and yet another collection of completely unnecessary facts.
The guys also tackle:
• Zach's official introduction to the podcast
• The infamous broken studio chair
• The best wings around Western Pennsylvania
• Iron City / IC Light appreciation
• Vodka, gin and dirty martinis
• Vintage liquor and Schenley Distillery history
• Adriano Celentano's famous nonsense song
• The Three Degrees and 1970s music
• Baseball, umpires and automated strike zones
• Everybody's personal Strike Three call
• Pittsburgh Pirates frustration
• And the moment the show has been building toward…Dr. Dirty.
Justin Clark explains how he discovered comedian and musician John Valby — better known as Dr. Dirty — and how Valby's outrageously inappropriate songs became part of years of parties, road trips, campfires and questionable karaoke performances.
