ABOUT THIS EPISODE
How to study the Bible in a way that actually sticks is what Tom Kent walks through step by step in this practical, hands-on message. Rather than handing out another list of interpretation rules, Kent goes straight to Scripture to find what it says about studying itself, distilling it into seven simple steps: praying for the Holy Spirit's guidance, considering and memorizing the text, asking questions the passage itself answers, comparing Scripture with Scripture, asking how it points to Jesus, weighing the Spirit of Prophecy's counsel, and finally acting on it by faith.
What makes this message different is that Kent doesn't just explain the method — he demonstrates it live with the congregation, working through Proverbs 3:5-6 together, reading multiple translations, asking simple but revealing questions of the text ("Who are we to trust?" "How are we to trust?"), and showing in real time how a familiar verse opens up when studied this way.
Delivered as part of a week of prayer series titled "With the Lamb Through the Final Crisis," this episode makes the case that knowing how to study the Bible for yourself — rather than only listening to others explain it — is essential preparation for spiritually turbulent times.
Presented by Tom Kent at Waitara Seventh-day Adventist Church, Australia.
