ABOUT THIS EPISODE
On this episode of Scrambled, we're joined by a very special guest and someone we're lucky enough to call a friend, Christina Formica!
Christina is a registered nurse who served in the Navy and is currently pursuing her nurse practitioner degree in psychiatric mental health. She also works alongside us at a fertility clinic here in New York City. But today, we're talking about something much more personal: her journey living with endometriosis for years before finally getting a diagnosis.
Christina opens up about the symptoms she experienced, the frustration of knowing something wasn't right without having answers, and what it took to finally understand what was happening in her body. We talk about her diagnosis, treatment options, surgery and recovery, and what life looks like now as she navigates managing her endometriosis.
We also dive into Christina's approach to nutrition and lifestyle, the changes she's made along the way, and how she balances her medical background with a more holistic approach to her health. Most importantly, Christina shares what she's learned about advocating for yourself, listening to your body, and navigating the uncertainty that can come with an endometriosis diagnosis.
In this episode, we discuss:
• Christina's early symptoms and life before her diagnosis
• What it's like to know something isn't right but struggle to find answers
• The road to getting diagnosed with endometriosis
• Treatment options, surgery, and recovery
• Managing endometriosis day to day
• Nutrition, lifestyle, and a holistic approach to health
• What Christina has learned about her body throughout the process
Whether you're living with endometriosis, suspecting you might have it, or simply want to better understand the experiences so many women face, we hope this conversation reminds you that your symptoms matter and that you deserve to be heard. Christina, thank you for sharing your story with us. We love you!
