ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Two racedays, countless lunches and very little sleep… Francesca Cumani and Vanessa Ryle are back for another Running Loose catch-up from Melbourne!
We relive the Melbourne Cup atmosphere, from Robbie Williams getting the party started to the roar as the stalls opened, before getting stuck into the race tactics and the fortunes of the European challengers.
Away from the track, our bedtime diaries have attracted rather more attention than expected. We chat about showing your real self online, Vanessa’s unfortunate name mix-up, and the double-edged compliment that managed to offend us both.
Plus, Francesca makes the front page, we compare Australia’s racing culture with home, discuss Harry Coffey’s remarkable return from injury, and reveal what sharing a house has taught us about each other. Food habits, hair-washing routines and who really wants to stay out late… it’s all coming out!
