ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Artist: The Boy Band
Album: Summer's Cuming
Lyrics: **(Intro – spoken/sung with attitude, group harmonies)**
Yeah, engines revving, hearts beating fast
Summer’s calling—let’s make it last!
**(Verse 1)**
Top down on the '57, candy apple red
Wind in my hair, sun burning overhead
Four boys in the backseat, blasting our favorite tune
Pedal to the metal under that full moon
**(Pre-Chorus)**
She’s standing on the corner in her sundress glow
Laughing with her friends, but I already know
One look from those eyes and I’m shifting gears
Heartbeat louder than the exhaust in my ears
**(Chorus – big, anthemic with gang vocals)**
Chrome and cherry lips, gasoline and fire
Hot rods and motorcycles, taking us higher
Pretty girls in the passenger side
Laughing as we ride, windows open wide
We own the night, we own the street
Engines screaming to the summer beat
Yeah, we’re young, wild, and free
Hot rods, motorcycles, and you with me!
**(Verse 2)**
Leather jacket zipped up, throttle wide open
Harley roaring down the coast, no plans, just hoping
She hops on the back, arms around my waist
Hair blowing wild, strawberry taste on her lips—can’t be replaced
**(Pre-Chorus)**
Burning rubber in the parking lot glow
Showing off for the girls, putting on a show
They wave and they smile as we peel away
This is our summer—ain’t no better way
**(Chorus – bigger, layered harmonies)**
Chrome and cherry lips, gasoline and fire
Hot rods and motorcycles, taking us higher
Pretty girls in the passenger side
Laughing as we ride, windows open wide
We own the night, we own the street
Engines screaming to the summer beat
Yeah, we’re young, wild, and free
Hot rods, motorcycles, and you with me!
**(Bridge – half-time feel, then building intensity)**
When the cops come flashing, we just laugh and floor it
Nothing’s gonna stop this teenage rocket
One day we’ll grow up, but not tonight
We’re kings of the road under neon lights
**(Guitar solo build – instrumental, then final pre-chorus shout)**
Let’s go! One more time!
**(Final Chorus – explosive, full boy-band harmonies + ad-libs)**
Chrome and cherry lips, gasoline and fire
Hot rods and motorcycles, taking us higher
Pretty girls singing along to our song
We’ll remember this forever, all summer long
We own the night, we own the street
Engines screaming, feel that heat
Yeah, we’re young, wild, and free
Hot rods, motorcycles—you’re riding with me!
**(Outro – fading with revving engine sounds & group echoes)**
Chrome and cherry… yeah
Motorcycles and pretty girls…
Let’s ride… all night…
Genre: pop
Style Prompt: Timing & Delivery Notes ( 3 minutes at c. 100–110 wpm) Total word count: c. 285 words Structure: Classic pop-rock boy-band format (intro, 2 verses, 2 pre-choruses, 3 choruses, bridge, big final chorus, outro) Suggested tempo: 105 BPM – upbeat, driving rock feel with palm-muted guitars in verses, big distorted chords and claps in the chorus Vocal style: Lead vocals with cocky, youthful swagger; tight group harmonies on every chorus and “yeah/we own the night” lines. Add some call-and-response (“Hot rods!” “Motorcycles!”) for that boy-band energy. Production vibe: Punchy drums, revving engine SFX, crunchy electric guitars, sunny synth accents, and a massive sing-along chorus drop. Think early 2000s pop-punk/rock crossed with classic car-song spirit—perfect for a boy band performance with choreographed moves and crowd sing-alongs.
