ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Natasha Hamilton is one of the most defining voices of 2000s UK pop, selling 10 million records worldwide with Atomic Kitten and today, she is carving a lane for herself as a solo star with the release of her debut EP "Extraction". Having made an indelible mark on our pop landscape with monster hits like 'Whole Again', 'The Tide is High (Get The Feeling)', and 'Be With You'; Natasha's now living her best life giving us vibrant, dance floor-ready bangers that feel both personal and, also, universally uplifting.
Joel sits down with Natasha for a career-spanning chat - from her joining Atomic Kitten as a teenager and navigating the rollercoaster of the music industry ever since, with line-up changes and reunions, through to finding her voice as a solo artist. We get into 'Miss Emotional' and the time after Atomic Kitten where she worked with acclaimed hitmaker Toby Gad (who crafted hits for Beyoncé and John Legend), the Lionel Richie tour where she played bops that were never released. Justice for the limited-release dance hit 'Round and Round'!
We dive into her fantastic debut EP "Extraction", the stunning visuals she has created in this universe, and her passion for working with creatives in the North West. From the angsty and emancipatory 'Numb' to the poignant storytelling of 'White Feather', and the joyous sun-kissed bops 'Garden of Eden' and 'Milk and Honey'; Miss Natasha brings the voice of experience and her warm, playful personality into everything and we are honoured to have this conversation with her.
