Chad Hurd on Double Deuce (Archer S2E5) — Storyboards, Tontines & Eggs Woodhouse

Amber, Christian, and Casey are joined by Chad Hurd (Animation Director, Producer, and Storyboard Artist) to revisit Double Deuce — Season 2, Episode 5 of Archer.

They talk about Maine, The Xtacles, playing Call of Duty at work, and the time Chad nearly lost an eye to his Emmy statue. Chad explains the role of an Illustration Director, why storyboards are so important to animation, and answers a question for the ages: does Archer have fingernails?

Also in this episode: WWI flashbacks, tontines, the origin of Archer's robe (which may or may not have belonged to Chad's wife), Eggs Woodhouse, the charm of making television in Atlanta, Jimmy Legs, young Woodhouse, the revelation that Baby Seamus was Matt Thompson's actual baby, the nightmare of animating mirrors, and a round of Real Spy Gadget or Fake AI Slop Image.

📺 FX's Archer is now streaming on Hulu.
