00:00:00
In this episode, me and my great friend, Jerold Limongelli are going
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:03
to dive deep on topics of accountability, integrity, dealing with shame as a
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:09
man and leadership in this modern day.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:12
Jerold has been a mentor for me for years, a great man, a follower
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:17
of Jesus, a husband, a leader, a coach, and a great speaker.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:22
You're going to have a lot of notes after this episode, so stay
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:26
tuned and let's get into the show.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:28
Welcome to Renew and Transform, a podcast to renew and transform your
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:33
mind and cultivate your leadership to live a life worthy of your calling.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:37
I'm your host, Mindset and Leadership Coach Moussa Mikhail.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:41
Let the renewal begin.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:44
Jerold all the way out from New York.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:48
What's up, brother?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:00:49
Hey, man, how's it going?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:00:50
Blessed to be here.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:52
Amen.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:52
It's my blessing.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:53
I'm so honored to have you did have you a couple of times on my
Moussa Mikhail:
00:00:56
previous podcast, Jerold played a huge role in accountability in me.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:02
Back in 2020 to get my life together, to launch my podcast he's a mentor of
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:08
mine and today we want to talk about that topic specifically and how it
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:14
connects to faith for men in general and Christian leaders all around the world.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:19
But the big topic of accountability and integrity.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:23
So Jerold I know we live in a world of compromise and It is so common
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:28
to, to compromise our integrity.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:30
But I wanted to ask you how you practically remain committed
Moussa Mikhail:
00:01:34
to your values and stand firm in integrity as a man.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:39
Yeah, that's a good question.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:40
So I really think it's your audience, who you're serving.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:44
So I serve an audience of one.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:47
serve my, my one and true God, Jesus Christ, the king of kings.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:50
So everything I do is to honor and appease.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:55
direction that the Lord has for my life.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:01:57
Now, if you're not, you know, if you're not a Christian or you're not a believer,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:00
it's, know, it might be a little bit of a different context to look at, but I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:04
think there's value in looking at who or what distinguishes your moral compass.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:12
Based on your morality, I think that it really starts setting
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:15
standards in your life, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:17
And standards then go into your disciplines, and disciplines go into
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:21
your accountability, and your integrity.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:24
Like, how integrous are you?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:26
if you don't really care about things, or you don't have a strong moral
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:29
compass, or you don't think about others, and you're really self centered
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:31
and self focused, you're going to be very integrous to yourself, but you're
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:35
not going to come off as an integrous person to other people, because
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:38
you're, you know, a solo minded person.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:41
So I think as believers, people that are living for an audience
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:45
of one, we're always looking to how is our actions righteous?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:49
How is our disciplines both holy and do they follow things like your physical,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:02:55
spiritual, and your mental disciplines and how they all play into your life?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:00
Really keep me grounded.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:02
On a day to day basis to really just gauge what I'm doing.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:05
I always say, I think like the Lord works in, in, in the ways
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:08
that he needs to work when he wants to work how he wants to work.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:11
Because this morning I started reading the book of Ecclesiastes and I think
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:15
it's interesting because Solomon, you know, could have asked for a bunch
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:19
of riches, but he asked for wisdom.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:22
And even with the tremendous amount of wisdom, he Talks over
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:26
and over in the book about how everything is meaningless like the
Moussa Mikhail:
00:03:32
that's
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:32
set the way it sets It's gonna rise the way it rises the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:35
moon's gonna come out the way it comes out The rivers are gonna flow into the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:38
oceans And I think people get lost in the idea that they are such an intricate
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:43
part life did that sometimes Alludes them to understanding what really the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:53
purpose of life potentially could be.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:03:56
And I think that could keep you very, very integrous because things
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:02
that would irritate the average person are no longer irritable, like
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:08
What I do in a day to day is great.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:10
Awesome.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:11
But how important is it into generations to come?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:15
Like, in all honesty, is someone gonna be talking about this moment
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:18
we're having right now, or is this moment really for me and you?
Moussa Mikhail:
00:04:22
a good thought.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:23
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:23
'cause people are very focused on legacy.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:26
Like if you, let's talk about just men, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:28
That's the arena I'm in.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:29
Men, you know, you're, you're a man obviously, and.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:33
Men are so heavily focused on legacy.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:35
They forget that they forget about the legacy starts right in the home.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:04:40
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:40
Why don't you be a legacy level father?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:42
Get those things dialed in before you start trying to be like Steve Jobs.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:47
And even if you read Steve Jobs, his last statement on his deathbed, he didn't give
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:50
a rat's rip that he created that iPhone.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:54
He just wanted to be around people that he remembered and loved.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:04:57
So I always say things to keep me integrous, things to keep me
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:00
alive, things to keep me focused.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:01
What am I going to be talking about on my deathbed?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:05
Am I going
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:05
You know,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:05
about that?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:06
My wife annoyed me that she didn't do the dishes or something.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:08
No, I'm be talking about, let me just get one more kiss, honey.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:11
And one more hug.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:13
One more moment in time, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:14
So I feel like perspective, like goes back to that morality, like who you
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:19
live in for, because if you live for the world, you're bound for destruction.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:23
You live for an audience of one, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:25
You live for a supernatural life.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:26
You live for treasures in heaven.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:05:28
Your life's going to be very different.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:31
I love that man.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:32
And that reminds me of something that I read recently where I
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:35
think it was emotionally healthy.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:37
Spirituality or emotionally healthy leader great book, but he mentioned
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:42
our greatest gospel message
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:47
Our greatest gospel message is our marriage.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:51
And if you're not married, it's your singlehood.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:53
And sometimes I think you're right.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:05:56
We get so caught up in trying to make a name for ourselves.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:02
Me, me too.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:03
I've got caught up in this and
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:04
Me too.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:05
getting caught up in the world and how I'm
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:08
going to be seen by people.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:09
But instead of focusing on those people right in front of me, my
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:13
family, my friends that are right here, Because that's, that's who
Moussa Mikhail:
00:06:16
you, at the end of the day, that's who you make the biggest impact to.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:20
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:21
also it's like, how do I know, like people always say, well,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:23
how do you know all these things?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:24
Well, wisdom is also learned through follies.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:27
So like a lot of the things that I've done that I think are ridiculous or
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:30
that didn't pay dividends, I know them and now I talk about them.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:34
And it's like, you know, you, you listen to great people.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:36
Like you read that in the book.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:37
I remember hearing something from Eric Thomas, the hip hop
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:40
preacher who I love listening to.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:41
He said, a lot of people are focused on their outside ministry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:44
They want to look good in public, but their inside ministry is falling apart.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:50
And your ministry is at the home, man.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:51
It all starts at the home.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:53
All, all the things that I'm seeing in the men's personal development space,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:06:56
in the faith based space with, with men of God who are trying to get back to the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:00
Lord, who are trying to salvage their marriages, who want better relationships
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:03
with their kids, who want to do more things, they're hungry for the Lord.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:07
It all starts in the home, they want to go back to building the foundation, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:15
They're not like, yo, help me out and make more money.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:17
I haven't heard that one yet.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:20
When a guy gets on the phone dealing with trauma, like, yo, if
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:22
I could just, if I could just make that million, everything's better.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:25
Not the guys I'm talking to.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:26
Maybe there are some out there, but all wanting to go back to this, to the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:31
source of it, which is the nucleus, which is this country needs to go back to.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:35
If you're seeing it right now, it's like the dissolving of, of the perfect order.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:41
God, husband, wife, child.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:07:42
It's, it's a perfect order.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:07:46
And I've seen it so often in the law enforcement space, especially
Moussa Mikhail:
00:07:52
that crime and dysfunction is greatly stemming from the lack of leadership.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:01
The lack of fathers, the lack of men in society, I feel,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:06
Absolutely.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:07
and I want to, I want to circle back because you, you
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:10
mentioned a major paradigm shift that I don't want to just brush over because
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:14
it's so powerful being accountable to one rather than the world.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:23
How does the concept of being accountable to God influence the way you set goals,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:28
make decisions and pursue success?
Moussa Mikhail:
00:08:32
In your leadership and personal life.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:37
I mean, I just go back to the word.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:40
I just believe everything written in the Bible is the actual translation
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:43
of the living word of God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:44
If he said it, then I'm going to listen to it, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:47
Doesn't mean I always get it right.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:49
But there's power and authority in that book, lot of people read it as
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:53
stories that it can be interpreted or, you know, different types of or
Jerold Limongelli:
00:08:59
things that they don't take serious.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:00
I take everything serious in there because I know it's a
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:03
translation of power and authority.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:05
So when I'm serving God versus serving the world, I have clear instruction.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:10
This would be great for you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:11
So I went to Fort Worth, Texas with my wife about two weeks ago.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:15
We wanted to go see Jonathan Shuttlesworth and Dr.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:18
Paul Anici, who has the biggest church in the world.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:21
called the Glory Dome.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:22
It's a hundred thousand person ministry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:24
If God's going to give you a hundred thousand people to minister on a
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:27
Sunday, there's power in that guy.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:29
an anointing all over him.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:30
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:31
And I saw it and felt it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:32
I saw miracles and people being healed.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:34
And I know, you know, like my mom, who's not really big on her faith, you know,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:37
she'd be like, , they must've been like, in the audience and they picked them out.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:42
I'm like, no, God has power and he will do things.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:45
But that's the end of there.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:48
He talked about right into the book of Genesis.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:52
And he said, Adam was given clear instruction by the Lord.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:55
Remember Adam was first and the Lord gave him clear instruction.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:09:58
He gave him leadership.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:00
Adam knew what to do and what not to do.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:02
And he was very clear on his commands from God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:05
And because he followed the commands of his father in heaven, He wanted
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:09
to stay obedient, not because he was scared, but because he knew that his
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:12
father cared for him and it would give him the best direction in his life.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:16
Then Eve came.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:18
Now, here's what I unpacked from what the pastor told us, is that
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:23
The devil didn't go to Adam.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:25
devil went to the woman because the woman didn't have clear instruction.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:29
Because Adam fell short in leadership and thought that because he knew
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:34
the clear instructions of God that his wife would know the clear
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:38
instructions in God, and she didn't.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:40
And because he played subtleties in that area, the devil whispered
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:44
in her ear gave her confusion.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:47
And in the confusion, she went and did something outside of God's perfect order.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:52
So the fall happened.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:54
So what I learned from that is People will whisper lies in your ear to
Jerold Limongelli:
00:10:59
misdirect you from what things that God is trying to whisper into your ear.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:04
And as men, the lack of leadership in our own personal life will be
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:07
the lack of leadership that has everything around us fall apart.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:11
If your wife doesn't think that you're a legacy builder, a chain breaker, Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:16
A miracle maker.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:18
She ain't gonna follow you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:21
And then the kids are gonna look at you in a different way and
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:23
they're gonna side with the mother.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:24
Now the whole dynamic is off.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:27
But if the leadership is strong, then a woman is happy to submit in a healthy
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:31
way because she trusts that the husband has the best interest and the best tools
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:37
to carry the name and the legacy to a place that she couldn't do by herself.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:42
is why a partnership makes sense.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:44
So leadership is really tied to how well you lead yourself, but also
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:48
how well you lead others around you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:50
If you lack integrity, then guess what?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:51
The people around you are probably going to lack integrity.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:11:55
I love that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:56
you have bad standards, poopy standards, you want
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:58
to sleep in, you don't want to get up.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:11:59
You don't want to do things.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:00
You don't want to tithe your money.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:02
You want to be like this, that, and all that stuff.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:05
You're gonna see it all around you there's no example because
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:09
Eve didn't have the example.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:12:13
Where that was beautifully said, but where do you
Moussa Mikhail:
00:12:16
see men, the modern man failing the most in leading themselves?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:23
Shame.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:26
They're afraid to admit they're broken.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:27
They're afraid to admit they're struggling.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:29
They're afraid to admit that they're watching pornography in the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:32
background, that they're masturbating in quiet times, that they're looking
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:35
at other women on Instagram, that they have lustful behaviors, that
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:39
they are not sharing their finances.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:42
their heart is turning in different ways.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:44
They're afraid to say it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:46
the devil keeps it as a dirty little secret.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:48
And then that dirty little secret compounds and that compounding
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:51
effect gets them to believe a lie that they're no good.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:55
So why change?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:12:57
I really think it's a, it's a seed that's so powerfully planted in the minds of men
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:04
they don't understand that it says, see, remember I said, just go back to the word.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:07
What does it say in the word?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:08
If you confess your sins to another man, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:13
They'll be freedom.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:13:15
Yeah,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:15
Okay.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:16
So what do you think God's?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:17
That's why we do the work we're doing with Weatherford, Steve Weatherford
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:20
and getting these guys together the secret gets aired out, but then the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:24
healing comes in from the Holy Ghost.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:27
It's no longer a secret.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:29
It's a moment to heal it's a moment for other men to hear it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:33
So breakthrough happens and it's like a domino effect.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:37
I think men got to get real.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:39
I think they got to get real with themselves first and
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:42
they got to get real with God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:44
Not from a religious way, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:46
Because people merge religion and relationship and there's two very
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:50
different variables right there.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:52
Religion is fear based.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:54
It gets you in a series of rules and do good or stuff.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:13:58
is come to your daddy and you say, look, I messed up.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:03
Now I know there's going to be a little cost to pay, but
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:06
teach me how to be better.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:10
Men need to go to other men.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:11
Men need mentors.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:12
Men need coaches.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:13
Men need leaders to say, I'm not really showing up here.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:16
I could see it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:17
My wife's not, my wife's not trusting my leadership.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:20
There's something, it can't be her all the time.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:23
Show me where I'm falling short.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:14:25
Now, give me correction and let me grow.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:30
that's huge, man.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:31
I think that ties into the biggest thing in growth in general is the
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:36
humility aspect, like to humble ourselves to that point where we can.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:43
Confess that to another brother, you know, or to humble ourselves and see like how am
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:49
I falling short as a man or as a leader?
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:52
Why can't I lead well and the humility aspect also opens the light opens
Moussa Mikhail:
00:14:59
the door For you to invite God in
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:02
Yes.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:15:03
says he's at the door.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:15:04
He's knocking but we're not letting them in
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:08
You know, I, I also think that men have forgotten.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:11
I, this is something I've learned.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:13
helped me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:14
I still am growing into some areas of my life where I want to apply this knowledge.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:18
And I hope this lands for any of your listeners.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:20
It's they're listening to this.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:24
A lot of people don't understand when it says the power of life and
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:27
death is in your tongue, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:29
And that the living word of God is like a sword that pierces through
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:34
the heart of the opposition.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:35
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:36
So you got to like, don't just read these things, like think about it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:40
It says meditate on my word.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:42
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:42
So I started thinking, then I realized Wait a minute.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:47
The minute I declared Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and I went
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:51
underneath the water, it says you are a new, NEW creature in Christ.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:58
No longer the same.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:15:59
Think of, new means completely different.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:02
New.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:04
So whatever sin I was living in, he removed it because of the shedding
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:10
of the blood on the cross, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:11
This is why he went up there and shed the innocent blood,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:15
because he washed my sin away.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:17
Now watch this.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:19
no longer living in sin, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:22
So that means I'm not a sinner.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:25
Okay.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:26
So what happens when people say, well, you can't be perfect, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:29
Because you come out of order, come out of obedience with God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:33
So you fall to sin.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:36
So I said, okay, wait a minute.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:38
So all the things that I was telling myself, you know, I did this, I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:41
did that, or even break it down.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:43
People say, I grew up in trauma.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:44
My dad wasn't around.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:45
I got hit.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:46
You are putting these things over you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:49
But the minute you went under the water and came out,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:51
you're no longer those things.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:53
You're a new creature in Christ, so you're washed new, you're washed clean.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:16:57
why aren't we speaking power and authority over ourselves?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:01
Why aren't we saying the good news in the scriptures?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:04
aren't we saying I'm inheriting a royal priesthood?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:07
Why aren't I saying that the kingdom that is in heaven is the same on earth?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:11
Why am I waiting for prosperity when he already gave it to me?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:16
Why am I waiting for healing when he's already healed me?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:20
See, remember the devil is a craftiest creature in the garden.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:22
So he gets in your mind because he can't occupy you anymore, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:27
You can't, you're not occupied, but he can get in here and start
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:30
confusing you to think That you're not who God has already said you are.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:38
So when I started living from power and authority from glory to glory,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:42
I got out of being broke busted and disgusted and I started getting into
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:46
bold, sold and told, anointed and appointed, blessed and highly favored.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:50
started declaring the promises that God had already said for me, to me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:17:56
You know, even the basic things like if you had a rich auntie,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:00
when do you get the inheritance?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:02
When she dies.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:18:04
hmm.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:05
He went to the cross.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:06
He said, it is done.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:08
Check was written.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:10
Cash it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:12
So men, I think, forget the power
Moussa Mikhail:
00:18:15
That's good.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:18:15
That's
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:16
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:16
They forget.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:18
And they start identifying.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:21
I'm a sinner.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:22
I'm a pervert.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:23
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:24
I'm addicted to porn.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:25
I'm addicted to pills.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:27
I can't kick the lust.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:29
I'm on phone calls with thousands of guys a month.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:32
They're all saying the same thing, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:35
I'm angry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:36
I grew up angry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:37
My dad was angry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:38
So now I'm angry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:40
It must be a generational curse.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:42
No, it's broken.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:46
So I think it's about learning to take your power back, learning
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:49
to take your authority back, and being in partnership with the Lord.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:18:53
Because we, in the flesh, cannot do things that require heavenly wisdom.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:18:57
so good, man I want I want to ask you like what
Moussa Mikhail:
00:19:01
practical steps do you take daily to align your words with that faith?
Moussa Mikhail:
00:19:08
So you can walk in that authority.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:12
Well, one, it's very crucial to be in the Word, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:15
If you don't get in the Word, how are you going to know the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:17
voice of your Father in Heaven?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:19
never hear him.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:20
Second thing is I think it's important to look at who's around you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:25
Who are the people that are speaking into your ear?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:28
Remember it said the devil whispered into her ear.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:31
Don't think he ain't whispering day to day at you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:34
So I made sure that I started aligning myself and surrounding myself with
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:37
people who share my values, who share my hunger for the Lord, and who could be
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:41
representations of where I'm trying to go.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:45
So I made sure I found the right people around me and I, and not that I, I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:49
don't like the word eliminate, but I distanced myself from people who did
Jerold Limongelli:
00:19:53
not share the same value system that I did because that's the integrity piece.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:20:00
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:01
That's how you just, that's how you're going
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:02
to distinguish your integrity.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:04
People might not like you, but they'll respect you when you're bold.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:11
So I think it's getting into the word.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:13
I also think it's surrounding yourself with the right group of
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:16
men, the right group of people.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:19
Okay.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:19
That's fine.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:19
And then I also think.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:21
There's really good practice in what I do is reflection pieces, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:27
Learn to manage yourself.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:30
Some people get hot headed.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:33
Some people get passive.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:35
Some people explode.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:36
Some people suppress.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:39
Learn about yourself, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:41
Get your emotional EQ, your emotional intelligence tested.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:45
Go get a therapist.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:46
There's nothing wrong with that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:47
Start managing your mindset, your emotions, and see what
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:50
triggers you, and then explore it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:53
Why is this bothering me?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:55
And then guess what?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:56
Listen, I'm a Christian.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:57
It's quite obvious.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:20:58
So when that happens, I asked the Lord to search my heart.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:02
So I stopped myself.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:04
I think it was earlier today.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:05
I was driving somewhere and I saw like, like a payment come in and I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:09
thought it was going to be more again, member things of the world, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:13
Ecclesiastes, how crazy is a payment comes in.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:16
like, you gotta be kidding me, man.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:18
Like, and as I was in the car, I said, whoa, whoa, whoa,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:21
whoa, whoa, wait a minute.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:23
Lord, remind me of the strength.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:25
Remind me of the provision.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:26
Remind me what it says in Jeremiah that you have plans for me to
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:28
prosper, that you will not forsake me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:30
Lord, search my heart.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:32
Why am I worried when it says that the birds will never worry about
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:35
what food they're going to eat, nor the people should never worry about
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:38
what clothes they're going to wear.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:39
Why am I worried?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:40
Remove worrisome and give me power.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:43
Remove worrisome.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:44
Give me authority.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:47
So I remind myself, but do you see how I went to the word?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:50
I didn't fantasize my own manifestation of I'm in control.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:53
I'm not, but I ask when I need to, when I write asking it, she'll be given knocking
Jerold Limongelli:
00:21:59
the door, shall be opened upon you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:00
You just said that, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:01
So him search your heart and heal those aspects of yourself because
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:05
we do have to live in the world.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:07
We are in a social construct.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:10
can't just hide in a cave and hold a Bible.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:12
You're useless.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:13
God didn't make you for that.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:14
And that's so good.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:15
I think even on the scientific aspect of that is you're literally interrupting
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:20
that thought and introducing prayer,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:23
Yeah.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:24
which shapes the fabric of your mind and allows you to rewire it
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:31
in a way where it becomes part of you.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:36
Like you, you don't have to think about it once you get to that place where
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:39
you can just interrupt everything.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:22:41
With the word of God and pray.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:43
You know, I, I do believe in personal development.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:46
I put out a lot of content where, I mean, I haven't gotten a lot of
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:48
people getting crabby at me yet.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:50
And that's okay.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:50
Maybe they will.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:51
But because I'm not like, I don't want them to think I'm bashing
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:55
personal development because I don't really talk like that anymore.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:22:58
I used to have like a little bit of the edge to it because I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:01
had so much fire and conviction.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:02
But now I'm learning that you get more bees with honey.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:05
I've learned to let the Lord, I worked on, I said, Lord, give me better discernment.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:09
Give me better wisdom Jesus didn't yell at people.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:13
He asked a lot of good questions.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:23:15
Yeah
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:16
was a great listener, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:18
He stumped you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:19
Like he just, whoa, like, you know, so I learned, well, how do I do that?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:23
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:23
Because it's not about convincing.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:24
It's about convicting.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:26
It's about having people have like a moment, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:29
With only God can touch them.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:31
And as I started talking about the personal development space, you know, I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:35
think there's tools and techniques that are very, very important to use, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:39
But it could only get you so far because it's flesh based.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:44
But it says we don't battle principalities of darkness, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:48
In the flesh it says they're in the spirit.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:52
So you have to learn how to tap into and work through the spirit.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:56
Well, how else are you going to do that without tapping into the Holy Ghost?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:23:59
So you could, you could read every book, psychology book on earth, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:04
And you can conceptually understand that this makes me
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:07
angry, but why can't you stop?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:11
Because you have to get a peace that surpasses understanding.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:24:14
I love that and for people that might not be born again
Moussa Mikhail:
00:24:18
at this moment listening to this.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:24:20
How do they tap into the Strength that is beyond them?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:27
Yeah, what I've learned about people is mostly about
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:29
the high, high percentages of everyone you meet says they believe in something.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:34
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:35
So they'll say God and whatever God is to them and that's totally okay
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:38
for where they are in their journey.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:39
But what I always say is, you know, whoever's listening out there and they're
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:44
listening and they're like, I don't know.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:45
They probably grew up in church or religious church or, or, you know, how to
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:49
go to a very Brooks Brothers button down church with khakis and strict religion
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:53
and dragging you through the pews.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:55
That's kind of how I did it a little bit as a kid.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:57
So I get it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:24:57
It never seemed relational or whatever it is.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:01
I always say in your quiet time when no one's around, ask
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:04
God to reveal himself to you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:08
If you want to experience power and glory, you're not going to really get it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:12
I mean, let me reframe that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:14
You could get it from reading.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:15
You could get it from an encounter of just listening to this podcast,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:19
the seed could be planted.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:20
But I believe that an invitation to God's presence is what convicted me immediately.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:26
Like how it convicted Paul, who was Saul on the road to Damascus.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:31
I mean, the guy was literally going to kill Christians.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:25:34
Mm hmm.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:35
of the true encounter of the Holy Ghost, the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:37
conviction, the hand of God is real.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:40
Whether your listeners believe it or not, because when I was out in the woods in
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:43
Dripping Springs and the Lord put his hand on me, changed my life immediately.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:49
I didn't go back and ponder.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:51
I
Moussa Mikhail:
00:25:52
Could you tell us a little bit more about that encounter?
Moussa Mikhail:
00:25:55
That's
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:57
yeah, I was, you know, I was out walking in the woods in
Jerold Limongelli:
00:25:59
Drippen Springs, Texas, minding my own business, you know, riding my high horse.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:04
And I was listening to something on YouTube, the channel changed.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:08
It was Jesus Christ Sermon on the Mount.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:11
I heard a verse that said be leery of false prophets for they'll
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:14
show up in sheep's clothing, but underneath they're ravenous wolves.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:17
For a good tree will always bear.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:20
Sorry, for an evil tree will only bear thorns and thistles, for a
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:23
good tree will bear figs and grapes.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:25
And it stopped me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:27
my tracks and I started thinking like wow, I've traveled the entire world and I've
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:32
done all this stuff over like a decade of searching But why never jesus and then
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:40
I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to go down to this path I went down this path.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:43
I was in a big field I felt the presence of God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:47
Tell me everything that you're looking for is within me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:50
Come walk with me and Right when I made that decision, I said, I believe in Jesus
Jerold Limongelli:
00:26:57
Christ, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the one and only truth in the way.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:01
Boom!
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:02
Just dropped me to my knees and the power of the Holy Ghost just touched
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:05
me I started weeping and repenting.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:08
In that moment, I either thought I did way too much ayahuasca or
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:12
DMT that I was going to be in a straight jacket or this was real.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:16
And It was real because the Lord started working on me and started revealing his
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:20
presence to me with great wisdom and clarity and new vision and new eyes.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:23
I became a new creature in Christ and my whole life changed and I
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:26
started pursuing and hungrily pursuing the Lord And so many miracles and
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:33
things have happened in my life.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:34
So much grace and beauty and all the things I've ever wanted.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:37
He's given it to me and more, but he gave me the one thing I was always looking for.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:44
I was always hunting for what does it mean to, to love yourself,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:51
but it was self centered.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:52
What does it mean to love yourself?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:55
What I learned was what does it mean to be loved by God, which
Jerold Limongelli:
00:27:59
means you don't have to try.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:02
You don't have to earn it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:04
It's given.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:05
There's freedom
Moussa Mikhail:
00:28:06
the there's so much freedom in that and for for some of those
Moussa Mikhail:
00:28:11
who might not understand that concept Because that's the whole concept of grace.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:28:15
That's what the gospel is.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:28:16
That's what Jesus talked about.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:20
Yeah.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:28:21
What's your advice to someone who might be stuck in
Moussa Mikhail:
00:28:24
the paradigm of they need to do and earn God's love and grace?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:34
You know, it's a tough one, man.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:35
That's a good, it's a very good question.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:39
I'm not sure if you can tell those people something.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:43
I think it's them being willing to explore a new perspective.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:50
Like why are you holding, I mean, again, it's just crazy.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:53
I just started reading that, that the book of Ecclesiastes and everything.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:28:57
You're saying it just, the Lord's just given me heavenly wisdom.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:01
And you just keep saying like, Why are you, why are you so excited about holding
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:06
on to things that are temporary, when I want to give you things that are eternal?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:12
So it goes back to what you asked me, how do you stay integrous,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:15
right, in a world that's so insane?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:17
I'm only focused on an audience of one who tells me everything that
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:20
I'm telling you to do, will give you everything you want, and it's eternal.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:27
Why, like, I used to be the guy that was like, dude, it'd be so cool to get a
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:32
McLaren and maybe put it on my Instagram.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:35
Now I see those people no judgment.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:38
I just look at it and go, eh,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:29:42
Vanity.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:43
good for you.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:29:45
said.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:47
It's
Moussa Mikhail:
00:29:47
Everything is vanity.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:49
like I was just saying to my friend, like things I dream about
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:52
is like being able to make so much money that I could tithe the billion dollars
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:59
to me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:29:59
That's like what a baller does.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:03
Yeah,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:03
And you guess what?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:04
You don't say anything.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:06
You just let your Papa in heaven.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:08
No.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:09
that's beautiful, man.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:11
I want, I want to ask you, because I was, I was with you in a little bit
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:15
in that self development journey,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:18
Oh yeah.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:19
and I came to that point where I'm like,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:22
I'm reading all these books.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:25
I've read like hundreds, like hundreds of books, and I get value out of it,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:30
because I'm just wired that way that I'm going to learn from anything,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:33
even if it's a terrible book.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:34
Yeah.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:35
could learn what not to say or what not to do or how that
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:38
doesn't align with certain things.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:40
But there was a certain point where I grew up in that religion and I
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:44
was just like, I need to, I need to know what Jesus really said.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:47
Yeah.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:48
And I think that goes back to your point.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:51
Or how do you know God's voice if you've never read it?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:30:58
That's.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:30:58
was I gonna know what Jesus taught if I'd
Moussa Mikhail:
00:31:00
never sat down and read it word for word in any of the Gospels?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:05
Or if you don't pray,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:31:07
Exactly.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:09
because see, this is, you're nailing it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:10
This is the relationship part.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:12
This gets you out of the do gooders, out of the, the, the people who
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:16
say, I did X, I did Y, I did Z.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:18
I'm good.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:31:21
Then I never knew you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:22
dude, that's when you said that made my hair go.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:24
That's my biggest fear.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:26
And I know that I'm a rebuke that spirit of, of fear out of me right now.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:30
In Jesus mighty name, but that I'll get up there in front of him and
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:35
he'll be like, yo, you did all the things, bro, but you never knew me.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:31:39
Yeah, Matthew 7.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:40
That's harsh.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:31:41
I think that one shook me the most.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:44
me the most.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:44
It's harsh because it shows it shows his his righteous anger,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:31:49
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:50
understand.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:50
They think he's like a floating around a fluffy cloud up there.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:53
No, he's he's righteous and he has righteous anger.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:31:57
Meaning like if you, if you, if you're going to be out, basically what he's
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:00
saying is like, yo, you played me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:03
You were out there fooling everyone on earth, but you ain't fooling me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:05
You never knew me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:06
You didn't come to me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:07
You didn't pray with me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:08
You didn't prophesy.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:09
You didn't come to me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:10
You just did all the showstoppers.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:13
That also reflects like a lot of how people show up.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:16
Isn't that interesting?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:18
Right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:20
look good.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:20
They
Moussa Mikhail:
00:32:20
What
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:21
good.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:21
They get good.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:22
They act good.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:23
But behind
Moussa Mikhail:
00:32:23
was it for?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:25
behind closed doors It's hard out there, man, especially
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:28
being a man, you know, women will say it's so hard being a woman probably is.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:31
I'm not a woman.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:32
I can't speak for that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:33
But I know for a man, if you really want to be a real biblical man of God,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:37
it's not easy in this terrain out here.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:32:41
It's war.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:43
It's every day.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:44
There's temptation every day.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:46
I'm married.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:47
And I tell my wife all the time.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:48
I said, the biggest battleground is the gym.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:51
It's like insane.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:55
I just want to go work out.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:56
I don't want to be tempted.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:32:57
I don't want to see half naked girls like doing things like that,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:00
but that's the world we live in.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:01
You can't tell them you shouldn't do that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:04
should be more disciplined, keep my eyes more concealed,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:10
set better parameters, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:12
I just feel like everywhere we go, you get on Instagram,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:15
you go anywhere, you do this.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:16
It's become normalized to be a person that lacks integrity,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:20
that has a strong moral ethic.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:22
It's like, yo, weirdo, I'm like, am I that weird?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:28
You know, I think it also, it's just a landscape of what men are perceiving as,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:35
as a standard has, I think has shifted, but now it's shifting back into it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:40
I think men are starting to have a hunger again for God because they're learning
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:44
that all the accomplishments and things and the medals and the awards don't do it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:33:49
And you still have that God size hole in your heart.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:33:53
Yeah,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:33:56
that's huge, man.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:33:58
Man, I just, I feel, I resonate with everything that we've been talking
Moussa Mikhail:
00:34:04
about here, because it's, I think it's, it's a common experience for men.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:08
Yeah,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:34:09
You know, it's not unique necessarily.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:34:11
I mean, it might appear to be, and there's going to be unique.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:34:15
Encounters and unique obstacles and challenges, but fundamentally we were
Moussa Mikhail:
00:34:23
created to love and to be loved by God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:27
absolutely.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:28
I think it's also important that you said, like, you know,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:32
it's like iron sharpens iron.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:33
I know it's catchy.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:34
I hear it all the time, but it's true.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:37
You know, we need to sharpen each other.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:38
We need to have conversations like this.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:40
We need to put ourselves in accountability circles.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:44
You know, we need to be, we need to keep each other integrous, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:47
We need to reveal to one another from a loving place because wives or your
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:53
girlfriends or what I'm gonna speak it the way I want is like our wives, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:56
If you're, if you have a girlfriend, your girlfriend shouldn't be
Jerold Limongelli:
00:34:59
overseeing your life in that capacity.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:01
You're not wed yet.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:02
You're not one flesh.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:03
But when you have a wife, she should not become the emotional pincushion to you.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:08
Like guys coming home and venting and talking about their
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:10
day and huffing and puffing.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:12
That's not what your wife wants to do, bro.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:15
Your wife wants to be nurtured and loved.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:17
So you got to learn to offload that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:18
You have to learn to go to your men.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:20
You have to go to your tribe.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:21
You have to get correct.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:22
So when you go home, you're still the leader.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:25
I love that man.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:26
Yeah,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:27
And as we, as we wrap this up, cause I could talk to you for
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:31
six hours straight and do like a double Joe Rogan podcast or something, but
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:34
of those one day.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:36
yeah, but for who you were before you felt the hand of God.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:44
Lord,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:45
We don't want to go there, but
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:46
forgive me.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:47
if you had to give that person some advice
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:50
on how to be truly transformed.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:35:54
What would you say?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:55
Man, you've gotten good with the questions, man.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:35:57
You always had good questions, but now they're like really good questions.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:36:01
to step it up, man?
Moussa Mikhail:
00:36:01
I'm doing this for God now.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:36:03
Remember
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:03
That's right.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:04
You know, that's interesting because I meet young people and it's like I want
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:08
to shake them like a Raggedy Ann doll.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:10
It's like, can't you just figure it out then I think about me because I'm so,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:15
you, when you're young you're stubborn.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:17
You think you know everything.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:21
I'm not sure if I would tell the young person, the young me, anything.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:24
You know what I would do?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:25
I'd become the example of what he saw as possibility.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:31
I think when you're young and you start telling people
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:33
things, like a parental wound.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:36
Like, I'm gonna tell you what to do.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:39
But what happens if we change the dialogue to, I'm gonna show you what's possible.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:44
And the fruit of my life is so tasty that you're gonna want it too.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:51
And I think that's
Moussa Mikhail:
00:36:51
that's
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:52
did.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:52
He didn't like say, you know, listen, he gave commands, but he showed you
Jerold Limongelli:
00:36:59
what his holy life looked like, what forgiveness looks like, what grace
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:03
look like, what repentance look like,
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:06
Yeah.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:07
look like, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:07
So you wanted it.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:11
That's more of like, don't preach the gospel, but be the gospel.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:15
Exactly.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:16
There's a time for preaching, right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:18
And there's
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:18
There you
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:19
for being on how
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:22
got to hear it.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:23
right?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:23
There's some guys that have been called to stand on the street
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:25
corners and just cast it down.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:27
And there's some people that are made to be in the pulpit.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:29
And there's some people that are made to be on a podcast.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:33
All right.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:33
He'll use it all.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:37
I love you, Jerold
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:38
you too.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:40
How can people who are listening connect with you and what
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:45
else do you what else are you working on
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:47
Yeah.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:37:48
can really serve other people right now?
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:51
Amazing.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:51
Well, thank you for that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:52
Instagram is always great.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:53
I love it when the people reach out.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:55
I try to get back to you right away.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:57
I'm sure you'll put it in the, in the description so you can
Jerold Limongelli:
00:37:59
just reach out to me on IG.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:01
Just shoot me a message.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:02
I get back to you as quickly as I can.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:05
As far as what I'm up to, you know, besides working on a bunch
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:08
of different businesses, I think.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:09
You know, the one thing that's really been just exciting and amazing to work
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:13
on is the work I'm doing with Steve Weatherford and champions in Christ.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:17
So helping him build out all his, you know, faith based leadership programs
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:23
where we're really helping men step into leadership so they can lead in their
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:26
business, families, and communities.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:28
And I've just been gung ho about his in person event called launching
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:31
pad that he does once a month.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:34
in Dallas, Texas, where we get about 25 men together to have just a real physical
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:39
manifestation and encounter with the Holy Ghost and just have rapid healing
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:43
through physical discipline, spiritual authority, and emotional healing.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:47
And it's just been incredible.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:50
so I know we're going to launch a whole bunch of them in the new year.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:53
We're wrapping up the last one in November.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:55
I don't know when this comes out, but man, that's just been incredible.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:38:58
I was with my wife.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:00
Dallas at 11, church 1132.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:04
The pastor randomly prophesied to me to, merge my business and my ministry.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:10
And I feel like that work really gets to do that where I get to bring
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:14
a kingdom skill set in business into, my faith and love for the
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:19
Lord and allow, allow that to merge.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:22
So that's been a really beautiful thing.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:23
And I'm just excited to see how the Lord will unfold that in
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:26
all his glory in the new year.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:29
I love them.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:30
And I'm going to have to partake in that.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:31
got to come
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:32
I've been due for a Dallas trip to,
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:34
Let's go.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:35
You'll be always be my guest.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:36
Hey man, I love you so much.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:38
Thank you for taking the time out.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:40
I used to tell people this back in my old podcast, but it still reigns true.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:43
The greatest gift I feel we can give is our time and our energy.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:46
So
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:46
Praise God.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:47
you for doing that.
Moussa Mikhail:
00:39:48
My brother
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:49
You're welcome.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:49
Thanks for having me.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:50
It's an honor.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:51
Thank you for tuning in.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:53
Be a light and share this with someone you love and care about.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:39:57
And please subscribe and leave a review so we can reach more people.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:40:01
And remember, do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be
Jerold Limongelli:
00:40:05
transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:40:08
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is.
Jerold Limongelli:
00:40:13
His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
