ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Are America and Israel fighting parallel battles to preserve their existential and moral foundations? Israeli writer and commentator Liel Leibovitz joins PragerU CEO Marissa Streit to discuss the political and spiritual divisions shaping both nations. From Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel's controversial judicial reforms to the aftermath of October 7 and the future of Zionism, Leibovitz explains why Israel is confronting a fundamental question about its identity: Should it be a secular state for Jews or a Jewish state rooted in biblical principles? He also explores how the Hebrew Bible influenced America's Founding Fathers, why both nations must renew their commitment to their moral foundations, and what happens when societies lose sight of the values that unite them. 00:00 Liel Leibovitz's Unusual Family History 04:24 Netanyahu and the Future of Israeli Politics 09:03 How October 7 Changed the Middle East 10:40 Should Israel Seize Territory to Ensure Its Security? 13:36 October 7, Gaza, and Israel's Critics 17:26 Israel's Judicial Reform Controversy Explained 26:57 A Jewish State or a State for Jews? 34:29 Zionism: Freedom, Faith, and the Jewish Homeland 38:29 The Judeo-Christian Foundations of America and Israel 42:26 Why America and Israel Are Covenant Nations 47:54 Can the West Rediscover Its Founding Principles? 50:48 Christian Nationalism and America's Religious Identity 55:37 Antisemitism and Accusations of Dual Loyalty 59:27 Immigration, Assimilation, and American Values 1:03:12 How Americans Can Help Renew Their Country Join PragerU CEO Marissa Streit as she interviews some of the most significant thought leaders and influential figures from around the world.
