ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Welcome to 🌈Queering Arthur👑, our second episode of the podcast, where you can join us in exploring ✨queer interpretations🧠 of 🫅🏾Nennius' History of The Britons📜. Context in this episode includes: the Arthur-like figure in Welsh poetry, the shared identity of the native Brythonic people as Cymru (from Latin for compatriots), the centuries of wars between the Anglo-Saxons invaders and the native Cymraeg (Welsh) people, Offa's Dyke, Bangor Cathedral, manuscript culture, the significance of the number 12, and the 'War Leader' (Dux Bellorum). Analysis in this episode includes: variety in translation, homosociality in economics and evolution, and implicit priotization of relative location or direction in idiomatic phrases.
