ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Today I sit down with my friend Michele McPhee, a journalist who has been following the Sandra Birchmore case since before it became national news and has spent the last two weeks inside the federal courtroom in Boston, watching the murder trial of former Stoughton police detective Matthew Farwell, who is accused of killing 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore and causing the death of her unborn child and has pleaded not guilty. Michele shares what has stuck with her most, from the grooming allegations that began when Sandra joined the Stoughton Police Explorers program at 13, to a death scene labeled a suicide within minutes, to her therapist's testimony that Sandra was making plans for her baby the day before she died, and we talk fairly about the defense suicide theory and the moments this week where it struggled. Let me know what you think in the comments, and please keep them constructive and respectful.
