ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Eco Buildings Group PLC (AIM:ECOB, FRA:9ZL0) executive vice chairman Dr Etrur Albani spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about progress on the company's new AI-enabled production line, which remains on schedule and on budget, and how the technology could improve manufacturing efficiency, production capacity and project delivery.
Albani explained the development is an important step in turning the company's manufacturing technology into an expanded operational process. The line will combine artificial intelligence with programmable logic controller (PLC) systems to monitor components, flag potential problems and make manufacturing more predictable. "It's not just about AI. It's not just about the technology. It's about the disruption," he said, describing the ambition to modernise traditional construction methods.
Eco Buildings can already manufacture a 42-square-metre wall in 30 minutes, with the next generation of machinery designed to increase speed, cut costs and reduce reliance on manual labour. AI-driven monitoring should also minimise downtime and support more continuous operations.
Looking ahead, the company is testing its AI technology and assembling the new machinery, with further testing due to begin by the end of November ahead of installation and a targeted year-end launch.
The discussion also covered growing construction opportunities, including rising demand in Albania, ongoing contract talks, expansion efforts in Latin America and detailed discussions with the Gambian government. Albani also stressed the importance of showcasing the quality of Eco Buildings' housing technology to prospective investors and international delegations.
