ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Ali Woods is joined by comedian Tom Elwes for this episode of PODIMISTIC - talking about happiness, having children and why being an adult is, quite frankly, exhausting.
Tom Elwes is a fantastic comedian with a knack for turning everyday situations into laugh-out-loud moments. His quick wit and relatable takes on modern life have earned him a loyal following across social media. Whether he’s poking fun at social trends or himself and his changing habits as he's grown older, Tom’s content is always fresh, funny, and genuinely authentic.
Ali and Tom talk about the things that really make them happy (from winning the Premier League to getting a decent night's sleep) and Tom shares stories of how his kids have made day-to-day life an endurance test: from sleep-deprived meltdowns, shouting at IKEA furniture and why nobody should believe those impossibly perfect parenting influencers.
They also get into the complicated relationship between anger and ambition, whether a little dissatisfaction is necessary to succeed, and the strange moment when you realise your parents are just people who are making it up as they go along.
Plus, Ali's dad Tony joins for some advice on the one thing every parent does: worry.
