===

[00:00:00] Hello, and welcome to Tabletop Gaming Center's Dungeons & Dragons Pirate Adventure, Plan C. My name is Chris Boyd, he/him. I will be your dungeon master on this journey. Now, to start off really quickly, we had a pretty big storm near us. There is some utility work going on outside, but we are playing by the the show must go on rules.

There's a possibility they need to shut off the power for a few minutes just to bring it back on safely. We are safe, uh, but in case we go dark, that is why. And we'll probably be back really shortly. But for now, let's introduce you to the pirate crew of The Fromage. Hi, I'm Kyle. I'm playing, uh, he/him pronouns.

I'm playing Tingus Pingus, also he/him pronouns. And I just want you to remember that if you think you're getting really good at something, ask yourself this simple question: Are you still the same animal, but a completely different beast?

[00:01:00] Damn. I have to rethink my life choices. Hi, everybody. My name's Heather, she/they pronouns. I will be playing your favorite kit cat, Kathara False, uh, also she/they pronouns. Um, I just got called out for the fact that I have a lot of hot dog content on my Instagram, so- It's a lot ... we'll leave that where it's at.

Hi, everyone. I'm Maeve, she/they pronouns, and I play Riven, she/her pronouns. And little did you know, sea otters hold hands so they don't drift apart. Isn't that so cute? Aw. Hi, everyone. I'm Cameron, uh, he/him pronouns. I am playing Aldrin, also he/him pronouns. And my character has nothing weird going on. Nothing strange happened last session, and I definitely did not sprout incorporeal wings, and no one looked at me funny, and everything's fine.

Yeah. Everything's fine. It's fine. We all reacted totally normally. Yeah, very normally. Everyone knew. Yeah. Wouldn't you know, everything is fine. But first- ... let's [00:02:00] rewind time.

Last time, we joined our crew maybe a little bit frustrated at some recent failures led on by their captain, uh, Willy, with some unsuccessful treasure acquisitions. But the crew did suspend talks of anything drastic, like a mutiny, to give one more chance that the captain was very excited for The crew accompanied their captain navigating to a secluded island while most pirates were exploring due to a direction from the pirate queen herself, Captain Scarlet.

Along the way, they picked up a [00:03:00] jettisoned Pirate Jim on a dinghy who informs them that Captain Scarlet is in fact right ahead on that very island also searching for an ancient treasure The party searches the island, navigating following the map that they have Digging a little bit before uncovering a stone surface carved in runes.

Before Captain Willy pulls out a scroll and begins reading it. Before a detonation happens and the large stone ceiling of this Ancient, we'll call it structure for now, caves in as the party falls, rocks fall, and let's join them now. And [00:04:00] here I thought we were safe. At the bottom- Is it safe? Everyone is fine.

As you look around and see at least an amount of stirring from your party members showing they're alive, including the captain. The captain. And my cat. And Sajo. My cat is fine. So close. Land on their feet. We know. Yeah. But you are not alone, as looking at you incredibly angrily is a human woman with jet black straight hair holding a hooded lantern, slightly illuminating the area.

You recognize her from some legend as the first mate, Mai Kim, to, excuse me, Pirate Captain Scarlet Barbary. [00:05:00] Alongside her is a early side of middle-aged catkin and a dwarven woman holding a large hand cannon, would be the right way to describe it. Like two hands on a large- Oh, okay. So bigger than a blunderbuss.

Yes. Okay. No, like a, like a very much a small cannon. Like a portable cannon. Not a... Yes. Yeah, okay. Yeah, a portable cannon in your general direction. I mean, that's the best you're gonna get with those things anyways, so. Right. Yeah. And this first woman looks to you completely dumbfounded.

What are you doing And is kind of aimlessly darting her eyes [00:06:00] around the room. S- surprise! Where's the

captain? Uh, Captain Willy? Yeah. Uh, he's there. Uh, he is moving. Fair enough. A little hurt. "Captain, Captain." My wings immediately poof, disappear. Oh, do... I, I catch that- Yeah ... and just make a note of it and just like, "Hmm." I'm not even look- I'm not looking at you, I'm walking over to the captain. Yeah, yeah. Weird how we all have ended up in the same place.

What a s- what a surprise. "Captain, are you all right?" Uh, he starts to get up, and Mai draws her sword. Whoa, whoa. Yeah, Kathara's gonna walk forward. Um- "No, don't move. Dig now." D- dig? "Dig." We- we've already digged. W- what would you like us- We dug this We dug. Dug. What would you like us to dig for? "The rocks. Dig the [00:07:00] rocks now."

Uh, uh, uh, o- okay, okay Why? I feel like we should maybe not question the people- Riven just starts trying to move ... that have a large cannon. And I'm also gonna help Riven immediately. Yeah, just starting to move rocks. They have a cannon. Maybe we- Okay ... let the people with the cannon be in charge. I'm d- I'm digging.

F- First Mate, Mai, um- Digging. Digging ... is there anything we are looking for specifically? As she's moving each rock. We're not digging. I'm not digging. I'm not digging. I've, I did enough digging today. Uh- We've already dug. And I brought sandwiches and tea, like, literally. She will walk over with sword pointing.

It's not optional. Oh, everything's optional if you think about it. Cannon. Cannon. Oh, it- it's just a sword Dig her out now. Wait, her? Her. Who, her? You, you said rocks. Dig. Immediately Riven freezes with a rock in [00:08:00] her hand. Who? Oh. Who? Oh, no. Who? Oh, the- Oh, no. Cathar's gonna try hard not to laugh. She, "Oh, no, guys, we should absolutely start digging."

We should start digging. Okay. Um- Riven's frantic ... Riven, do you have anything- She's frantic now ... w- can you, can you, can you talk to- Uh, the, the catkin has also maneuvered over towards the top of the pile

and is taking some of the larger rocks, kind of like rolling them down. No. Male, female? This giant pile. No, no. Uh, what? Male, female? Male. Male, uh, early side of middle-aged. Or more middle, middle-aged. About my age. Okay, got it, cool. Love it. Maybe I'm a little bit younger, who knows? Riven's frantic. She's just digging.

"No, no, no." There's, there's snow. "No. No. No. No." I struggled for dig, but I, I try and help. It is worth mentioning the, the rocks are in lots of different sizes- Oh, okay ... and it is slow work. Yeah. Like, there are [00:09:00] larger ones that are... Yep. I will say, though, that metal fancy rock that, that glowed, I'm definitely gonna be looking for that as I'm digging

The smooth thing that we hit- That smooth thing that, that, that lit up and- Originally. Oh, that was the stone itself with carvings in it. Yeah. Runes and that, yeah. Yeah, is that like still there somewhere? No. Presumably it was part of the roof. It's the rubble. Okay. Yeah. So kind of. Well, I mean, if I find a few pieces with a little bit of some like runes and stuff on, I definitely wanna take it.

Um, after all of you including the captain are helping to dig, um, Mai says something to Hodge, sheaths her sword, and begins digging as well. Um, I would like anyone who wants to make an insight check. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Abso-freaking-lutely. That's all I [00:10:00] do. I, I would. I'm good at this, supposedly. 18.

11. Five. 18. Okay. Yeah. Um, both of you would actually see that, uh, Mai is also quite frantic in her digging. Uh, maybe more than you might expect Like there is a, a almost- Yeah ... desperation behind some of this. Uh, oh, they were roommates. Got it. Cool. Um, I mean, it's understandable. I think Thara kind of thinks to herself, she's like, "Okay, that's their captain.

I mean, Felt, but whatevs." Are you trying to make small talk right now? Nope. She's thinking to [00:11:00] herself. She's like... I assume you and I just kind of exchange glances every now and then. Uh, and it's like... Just like... So not serious. I'm slowly gonna move- Oh, no, no, no ... I'm gonna move next to Rivens that I'm helping her, like- We have to find her

her. We have t- we have to. We have to. We'll find her. We have to. Oh, yeah. We have to. We'll, we'll do it. The pile is getting a little bit flatter. Mm-hmm. Uh, as you're just kind of pushing rocks to the edge of this pile. After about 15 or 20 minutes, uh- Tibble lifts a rather large stone- Who? ... up. Uh, the catkin- His name's Tibble

he is the second officer of Captain Scarlet's crew. All right. Cool. Uh, you would've heard the name in passing[00:12:00]

Yeah, I would've. Um,

Tybalt lifts up this large stone and it makes a noise, and looks down solemnly, and slowly lowers the stone back in place, and looks to Mai, and walks over to her, uh, while shaking his head. Uh, and whispers something in her ear. Riven's gonna run to where he was just at, where that- he just puts the rock back down.

She's gonna run and say, "What, what, what is, what is it? What is it?" Does she see anything? Um, no. No. There are some smaller stones around. Okay, I'm gonna try to- But not- Try to excavate a little bit ... um, uh, it both, uh, it, it... Actually, not both. [00:13:00] Um, Mai is backing off of the pile. Tybalt will go next to you. Um, and as you're removing some, uh, of the smaller stones, uh, you do uncover, uh, a hand.

She's gonna cast, try to cast Cure Wounds, obviously. Uh, yes, you're able to do that. Mm-hmm. It's not working. Um, Tybalt will kneel down next to you. Um- And kind of just look at you a little solemnly and nod No Um

You might wanna turn away for a moment No.

No, no, this can't

I [00:14:00] can't I'm gonna put a hand on Riven's shoulder She, like, won't let go of the hand. I can't

No.

It's not fair

And she like turns into, um, old Rin. I didn't even get to meet her Oldren's just gonna hold Riven quietly. Not saying anything While this is happening, the rest of you will see Tybalt, uh, remove a knife from his belt and cut something and cast a spell. Uh, and will be wrapping something in, [00:15:00] uh, a handkerchief and hand it over to my-

Can I make a perception check to try and see what it is that he cut? Yeah. Yeah. I'm wondering what that is. On her hand, were there any rings? Yeah. Can I take one? Mm. I wanna be stealthy about it. Sure. Okay. 13. 23. Cool. Great. Sorry. Uh, he, he cut off a- There it goes I'm just bad at this today ... he, he cut off a finger, cast a spell on it, and wrapped it in a handkerchief.

Okay. I think I have an idea of what it might probably be.

I think Clara will take her hat off. Um This is kind of, um, delicate situation we find ourselves in right now. Um, my, [00:16:00] it is unfortunate that we have lost the Pirate Queen. This is a detriment to everyone. One that unfortunately w- could not be e- e- explained in terms of us both being here at the same time Stop

I don't want a single word. We have met once today. We will meet again And if it were not to preserve the ability for her to get vengeance for herself, you would be dead today

Mm-hmm.

Don't even try to get in my way[00:17:00]

Uh, and she gestures towards Hodge and Tybalt and begins, uh, to turn away. Uh, but Tybalt speaks up My I can't. My fealty has been even before Scarlet to the fealty of the Pirate Crown.

And that passes with death

Uh, and she is quite angry, and they take a few steps aside for a moment. At this point it is just your party and Hodge. If you would like to say or do anything [00:18:00] in that moment. Is Ruben still crying? I just look at- Okay ... Kithar as like, "Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Does that mean-"

Are, is, is, is- We, is he the Pirate King? He's, is he the Pirate King? Is it one of us? It's certainly not us. I wish it was us. I, how does this work? Do we know? I don't know. Can I, as I'm holding Riven, try to see if I can hear any of their conversation? Like make a perception check. Their conversation? No, not their conversation.

Or- Um, my and Tyvol. Yeah. He went off to the side. Yeah, yeah, go for it. Cool.

Plus stuff. Just what stuff? Uh, perception. Yeah Um, 21 The secret stuff? 21. Okay. Yeah. You won't have a verbatim conversation, but- Tibble is sharing some [00:19:00] encouraging words, uh This doesn't have to be the end. Uh, even if they meet again on opposite sides, he can't wait to see her. Uh, she's gonna be okay.

Almost in a very, like, father figure-y type of way

Um, and she will walk back over towards Hodge and you all. Um, a little bit more sadness than fury in her eyes this time. Um, but will try to, like, put on her most powerful, scary face that she can still muster, uh, with a, "Don't forget a single thing I said." Um [00:20:00] and walks away with Hodge Through an opening into a dark room.

Um, as she does so, a lot of the light does leave, it's a little bit darker now. Tybol also did have a lantern, um, but that is currently the only light in the room

Well, I'm not really religious or anything, and the gods have come and are going, and I do feel that we should pay some sort of respect for the dead. Say something If I had divine powers of sorts, do a blessing, but I don't. So if anyone has something they would like to say in remembrance of Captain Scarlet, [00:21:00] um, now would be a good time.

Otherwise, um, take a moment of reflection and pause. I will. And she turns back and she's like

You are infamous across the land and sea.

Feared by many, respected by all

Songs written about you. Legends made. This is not your ending

We will meet again.

Whether it's here or in the thereafter[00:22:00]

Um, Tybalt will walk forward. That is a very nice thing to say Thank you Very interesting work, Captain. Uh, Tybalt walks over to Thara, and Captain Willy is like, "What?"

Kibble, darling, um, wow. Uh, I'm not the cap- that's the captain Speed of the... Oh. That's the captain. Ah. Um- Appreciate it, though. Just kind of winks at him. Well then. Um. Captain what was it again? And Captain will proudly, nobly introduce himself. I am Captain Wilman Fail

And Tybalt goes, "Well, congratulations. You are the pirate king, I guess. And I, [00:23:00] Tybalt, have sworn fealty to the pirate crown to my death. So I am humbly here at your service Oh, I guess that means we're getting a, a- Let's be that- New crew member. New crew members Wait, wait, wait, wait. What, what is happening?

Uh- Well, the pirate crown transfers- To ... if, if the pirate king or queen is slain by another pirate captain- Even only by accident ... they assume the crown. Even if by accident. Accident? Let us be clear Oh no, this was totally planned 100, 100%. Yeah, totally espionage. Oh, it was great. Yeah, it worked, worked perfectly.

Yeah. Right, guys? I mean- No. No. No, this was, this was exactly- No ... how it was supposed to go. I am not taking responsibility for this. We did not attempt this. And the captain's like, "Well, of course you wouldn't have to take respons-" Yeah, it's- [00:24:00] "No, no. This is, this is my-" Me. "... story." I have to take responsibility for this.

Yeah, it's all, it's all on Captain Fail. Right. You cannot be held responsible for this. Yeah. We don't have- That would be wrong. What was that scroll? Uh, so I thought it was supposed to be dispel magic, but I didn't... So I... Okay, so I bought several scrolls of dispel magic- ... and mold earth. 'Cause we spent a lot of energy digging before.

Mm-hmm. I didn't bring them last time, and I thought, "Oh, maybe I should bring them." And they're, uh, they... See, the problem is they're rolled up, and I didn't label them on the outside. You can, you can unroll them to read them without casting the spell. So you accidentally- I did ... cast the spell. I unrolled it and I started reading it, but I was casting it.

No, no, you just don't vocalize it. If you just read it in your internal monologue- So you accidentally murdered the pirate queen because- By molding earth ... you didn't check your scroll. Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Yeah. I mean, it gave us quite a good- That does kind of sum it up, yeah ... I can't- I mean...

I look at [00:25:00] Riven. Also, Chris, uh, before, like... Just backtracking 'cause I was looking at stuff. Uh, you would've seen Tangus take out a water skin and just pour some out and then take a drink. Gotta pour one out for the homies.

Anyways. Riven looks, Riven looks numb. You said you looked at Riven. Yeah. Riven looks just absolutely numb. She doesn't understand what's going on. She just looks devastated, but not crying anymore, just numb

Well, um- So if you weren't trying to murder the pirate queen, why did you come out all this way to the island instead of hunting the merchant ship? Uh, we kinda did- That's a funny story ... and it's a great story that we would love to tell you- It's a real knee-slapper ... back on our boat. Um, but Captain here, um, now I guess Captain King, um, ended up with a treasure map.

[00:26:00] And since- Mm-hmm. It was a two-for-one sale ... the whole merchant thing, we figured we would go and check things out, and the map led us to above, and now we're below. Um, and now we're here Yep, exactly like that. N- nothing else to add to that. Nothing at all. Why is she here? Oh, great question actually. Uh, we're, uh...

And, and on that, I would actually like everyone to roll a perception check. Ooh. God. That's shlock. 17. 14. Okay, good. Eight. 17. Okay. Oh my God. Our two 17s. What are we doing? Our two 17s. My eyes. Uh, you're looking at Tybalt, and you're also remembering, like looking at Hodge and looking at Mai, they were all kind of roughed up.

Like fresh [00:27:00] cuts, wounds, bruises starting to form. Like Tybalt is still standing in front of you, like a little beat up. Like they had- Um- ... gotten into a fight prior to? Yep. Yeah, exactly. Like very, very recent. Uh, until... So we're kind of, you've, you've kind of joined us in the middle of a p- treasure hunt as it were.

Uh, and he points in the opposite direction that Mai and Hodge left- Uh-huh ... and shines a lantern. And there are two large copper doors, uh, with an engraving embossment on it. Oh. And it looks copper, and weirdly even like underground and however long it has been, there is no corrosion on it. No patina, nothing like that.

Right. Hmm. Uh, and it, uh, it has an embossment of a set [00:28:00] of scales floating over a winding river cutting through a grassy valley. Um, this might vaguely be reminiscent of, uh, a holy depiction of, uh, Olodumare

Okay

What are you all after down here? Do you have any idea what's in here, or...? Uh, ideally, a ancient religious relic. A weapon. Hmm.

Hey, Paul. Mm-hmm. Question for you. Yes. Don't mind me prying. Um, it does look like you're a little, um, banged up. Was- [00:29:00] Oh, it was, it was quite the ordeal to get to this point- To get here ... actually, yeah. Mm. Yes. Surprisingly, the northern side of the island was actually easier to traverse upon, but that is neither here nor there.

We didn't think about digging down. We didn't- It was- Well, actually, we figured it worked the first time we did this on a different island- ... and figured why not, it would work again. Um. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. So, uh, there's a weapon, but there are two doors. We just have a map. We know nothing more. We just know there is a, a treasure.

Do you have any more information, um, regarding what door to take, what we should be looking for? I should maybe preface, it's a double door, not like two- Oh, okay, so it's just a really large door. Just a very large double door. Yeah, yeah. Um, like what are we walking into? Because we're a little blindsided. We expected maybe we'd find a chest, uh, not doors with apparently a holy weapon within it.

Full disclosure, [00:30:00] we just got in this room when everything happened, so haven't looked at the doors yet Wonderful But yes, uh, Captain Scarlett did acquire someone to provide information- Mm-hmm ... about this that led us here. Mm. Oh, that must be the person that Jim talked about. That guy. Yeah. Yes. Jim. Yeah. What is this weapon purported to do?

Uh, it was

supposedly belonged to the god Olodumare, its exact properties not quite known But it's was something powerful, uh, something about changing reality, [00:31:00] creation, destruction And we're messing with that. Well, no, that was why we came here. To mess with that. Well, Captain Scarlet. To mess with that Y- y- yeah, we'll find it.

We don't actually know that it's here I say we get out of this God's forsaken place Fingers crossed I mean, we've come all this way Yeah. We should at least look around Uh, the Captain Willy actually probably like, "Guys, I don't know if you've been sensing this. I know we're all cool, but sometimes I feel like the rest of the crew is really frustrated that we haven't gotten any treasure yet.

And like, I feel like we're like kinda really close to a treasure, and like I feel like I could really use a win right now." That is so perceptive of you, Captain. Great, great job. Thank you. I, it just starts slow clapping and just- Your Majesty. He's kinda like smiling, moving his [00:32:00] feet a little bit like, "Well."

Uh, do, would, would we know, uh, like Tibble, we know he's a cat king. We've probably like heard about him kinda in passing and stuff. Like do we know like what exactly he does outside of being like the second, um, mate of Captain Scarlet? Um- So, um- Like have we heard that he can do particular things? Like what is he skilled at, before I ask?

Not, not specifics like that. Okay. If anything, um, he's just quietly been along... Like he said, he's sworn fealty at this point- Okay ... a couple decades ago to the pirate crown itself. Mm-hmm. Um, he has seen the crown transfer once before to Captain Scarlet. Um-

Tybalt, um- Yes ... as you are second mate, um, did you [00:33:00] overhear anything as to why Captain Scarlett may have wanted to get her hands on this treasure if it supposedly changes reality, creation, destruction? What was her goal? I won't, I don't want to overly confidently talk about motive, but I can say especially in the last few years she had grown very worried about competition, as it were.

Mm. The term for that is paranoid or paranoia, not worried. Eh. I mean, when you're at the top of the game- Eh ... everyone's gonna be wanting your t- crown. Right. Don't you always say that? She invested to be the best. Mm-hmm. And so, a- a- and outwardly, you know, she was [00:34:00] very confident, deservedly so. Mm-hmm.

But that does provide a very large target. So- Absolutely ... maybe this was more of an insurance plan, but I don't know her exact intention. Uh-huh. It's also worth mentioning- Anyway ... we don't have exactly a great description of what it does. A lot of some of those old stories have been destroyed. This at least gives us a little bit of, um, an indication of what we might be getting ourselves into, um, here.

So- Instead of dawdling, we probably should go and see, but that is if, uh, Your Majesty wishes Oh. Oh, that's me now. That's you now. Look at you go, Kit. This is [00:35:00] such... It's so bittersweet 'cause this is so sad and solemn, but also, like- We can celebrate later. That was dignified. Yes. I'm gonna cast Cure Wounds at level one on myself.

Okay. Man, I was gonna do that to you. Yeah. Uh, if anyone wants to do that, you absolutely can. Um, Riven takes out one of her jugs that is not her drinking jug, and, like, takes a chug and casts Cure Wounds on herself, and it's ocean water she's drinking. Yeah. I'm gonna take, um, from one of my various pouches just some wads of, like, looks like moss kind of, and just start, like, packing at the various wounds on my body.

And as I do, the moss sort of, like, dissolves a little bit. Chris, can I make a- Fizzmage ... slight of hand check to summon my basketball to my hand? I'm gonna do- Um, before that, uh, how rough would you say, [00:36:00] uh, Tingus Pingus- Oh, he's pr- ... and Kithara are looking? Um, I mean, we're running 13 out of 24. Yeah. That- that's about what I'm looking at

also 13 out of 24. So, like, yeah. We're looking at a little 13 out of 24. A little 13 out of 24. Okay. All right. Um, that is maybe not unsurprisingly better than the captain is doing. Mm. Um- Can't do anything about that. Oh, no. Yeah, can't do anything about that. Yeah. Uh, Tybalt will though. We're over here like...

Oh, no. Oh, Tybalt will. I think, feel like, I feel like Kithara's gonna go and, like, try to, like, scrab- Like, "I- do we have anything? I feel like I should have brought the, the, the first aid kit." Um, Riven's gonna go behind you- Wouldn't the surgeon have that? ... and just take, take some water and just splash it on you.

Love. And say, "There you go." 2d8.

Just, like, hisses. Oof. Um, I'm gonna walk over to- That was messy ... um, Tingus Pingus and- Uh, Tybalt was also gesturing like he would- I was like, "You can do [00:37:00] it." Oh, help, help Tingus? Just a little closer. Yeah. Oh, well in that case. I've got three spell slots, so go ahead, Tybalt. There you go. Tell other people to roll D20.

There you are. It's fun to roll D20. Uh, and just a, a level one Cure Wounds. Can I try to make some sort of, like- What? I saw Cure Wounds. Uh, now ... would it be arcana? Try to figure out, like, how he just cast that. 2d8 plus we are on fire. Like, what kind of magic that was, if that makes sense. Yeah. Well, uh- Jesus.

That's only a four ... you have access to Cure Wounds, correct? Yeah. I mean, like- Yeah ... does this look like holy magic to me? Oh, sure, sure. Does this look like, like wizardry? You can, you can make it with advantage because you are very familiar with this spell. Okay. Just make the- What's Tybalt's spell modifier?

Hiss. Do we add spell modifier? Mine does. Uh, yes. No, not, not for you. Yes. This is... Well, for, for cure things. Oh, no, I do. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, for cure wounds, you add- What, what is my spell modifier? Most healings have a Plus three? That's all right. I meant to roll a- Oh my gosh ... that's my power roll ... I'm almost back at full.

That game's done. Nice. Okay. [00:38:00] Um, I got a... Ooh, nice. Is it a 20? Yeah, well, 'cause it's... No, no, that's for my- Oh ... perception check. I was like, what? What the hell is that? What- 2D20 healing. Oh my God. I was like, damn, those angel wings. Whoa. Hey. All right, Booty James. Yeah. That's, that's, um- Rangers, overpowered, yes or no?

Um, that is gonna be an 18 on my arcana. Uh, yes, absolutely. So this is very much, uh, holy magic. Got it. Okay. Okay

So Chris, about that sleight of hand. Right. Okay. It's about that. So you're trying to- Discretely summon my basketball to my hand because clearly I have not had it this entire time since we fell down the hole. Oh, true, yeah. Yeah. Okay It's, I know. Who are you trying to hide it from? Everybody. Oh, okay. I c- don't care

Nice, dude. Solid. All [00:39:00] right, we're done. It's a nine. Uh What are you doing? Stuff. You hear, you know that- Basketball ... you know, you know that sound? Just, just, you just hear, and then basketball out of a, a little bit of fire. Oh, what's that, what's that song again? What is it, you know that sound like when you- Rattata Rock, what is it?

Yeah. Yeah. That song, you can't help yourself from humming that song. It's true, yeah. That's the basketball song. You hit your hand and you go... Yeah. Everyone turns to you. Yeah, I hit my hand and just go... All the time, in all the place. I can't help it. But the lyrics are the best part. Oh, God. So, um- Terrible lyrics to that song

Um- Guess everyone's looking a little bit better. Yes. Feeling a little bit better to traverse the unknown in- I'm gonna go open the door ... front of us. Okay. Oh, dingus. Excellent. To treasure. Yes. Uh, the captain gestures, uh, and proudly follows you. Good. Yeah. Yeah, [00:40:00] yeah, yeah. I w- I assume I'm gonna attempt to open these doors

Yes. Uh, as soon as- I'm off to the side, I'm not- ... you touch it ... I'm not in blast range. Yeah, I'm nowhere near ... you, you're just walking up and- Oh, what do these do again? She's off the corner. Yeah, I'm not near that. Kind of doing the creak. Can I, can I do the classic check it for traps? Oh, sure, if you want.

Investigation. You sound so disappointed. Investigation, yeah. Okay.

Is

that what I'm gonna do? Dear God. That's a big seven, dog. I assume it looks fine

Yeah. Yeah. That looks fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We go touch it. Nice. As soon as you touch it- Yeah. Uh, everyone- Oh ... hears a voice in their head. New head. In your head. In [00:41:00] your head. You must prove worthiness to enter

Answer these to show you understand the balance

The seas roil and swell. Waves erode the land. Is this an affront to balance?

No. No. It's the natural course of things as the sea rolls to the- Kathara answering first with the no No You hear, everyone hears telepathically, "Correct. The cycle of death and rebirth is natural. In order for new regions to emerge, others must be destroyed. As long as it is natural, it is in balance." [00:42:00] And a sort of think flower crown, but in the form of a bracelet appears on your left wrist

Thank you.

Now... Oh, also the scales have half sphere carvings in them, two in each scale. One is now illuminated. Interesting. Oh, okay. You all hear in your head, "Think on a whirlpool, a vortex of water, the shape, the turbulence, the energy. It seems chaotic, but for water to flow there must be harmony and balance. [00:43:00] Where is it?"

In the eye of the whirlpool? Hmm You show potential. The vacuum, the emptiness, the eye in the center is what draws the water, directs it. It is balance. So will serenity allow life's problems to flow through and beyond you. And you also receive a flower crown bracelet on your left wrist, and another orb illuminates

You hear in your head. A druid nurtures a plant, then shapes it into a weapon to apply to a cause. The weapon, once a seed, is now capable of destruction. Where does the [00:44:00] fulcrum of balance lie?

I'm terrible at riddles.

You answer it. I don't know. Ugh. Can we, can I get that repeated? The whole thing? Yeah. Yeah. A druid nurtures a plant, then shapes it into a weapon- What does that mean? ... to apply to a cause. The weapon, once a seed, is now capable of destruction. Where does the fulcrum of balance lie?

I think I have an answer. Is it with the druid? Hmm. No, it is not so simple. Intelligent life is chaotic by nature [00:45:00] and must strive to be in the balance. It cannot cause the balance. Hmm.

Maybe not the druid itself, but- Wait, I can guess again? Within the- Wouldn't it be- Uh, yeah, nothing happened. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You- Is it within the weapon? Not necessarily. It's within the perspective that holds- Do you say that- Yeah ... out loud? The weapon is but a tool. It has nothing to do directly with the balance.

It's within the perspective of who creates the weapon. This is why I didn't go to school. No, who wields the weapon. Oh, true. I already s- Using it for who can- Yeah ... harm or to... Is it, is it doing bad, or is it doing good? That is the fulcrum. That is the center of the choice. The hand that holds it. The hands that holds it.

But isn't then... Okay. It's the hand that holds it. The hands that holds it. So you say, "The hands that holds it," right? Yeah, he says it out loud as a question. The hands that holds it are the druids, and it is not so simple, for intelligent [00:46:00] life is chaotic by nature. I already said that. Well, figured it was giving disinformation.

Is it not just within the perspective of what is created and what is destroyed, and what the cause is? At no point has the door responded to anything you, uh, Tingus, or Cathara has said- It's only listening to us ... after acquiring the flower. Hmm. Hmm. What'd you say, Percy? Hmm. You have a college education.

Too smart. Got the, got the easy first two of them. College education. Wait, what did you say? In... It's about perspective. Yes. Do I just say perspective?

I don't know. Yeah? Perspective Of the cause Ruin has no idea. Perspective of the cause. Good, yes. What matters is why the weapon was created and used. Mm. [00:47:00] Destruction can contribute to balance as much as creation. Mm-hmm. Oh, right, yeah, I guess I can turn. And then there was one. Wait, do I get a bracelet? Oh yeah, sorry.

Oh. You get a bracelet. Nope. So yeah. I was like, "Is that wrong or no?" Or, or... Yeah, my bad. Sorry. No, you get one. My bad. I hope this complication Orb illuminates ... wear off. Bracelet on left- Hang out there ... uh, wrist Dang this took long. It's education. You're trying to educate. Uh- A wildfire burns in a forest threatening a camp of settlers.

Is it an affront to the balance to fight the fire?

I would say no I don't think that you can answer, Riven I know, but I'm ask- telling you to say that I don't think so either because the settlers are [00:48:00] just as much a part of the cycle as anything else. They just Yes No No. It is natural to defend yourself from a fire as if it were a predator. And the fourth orb illuminates, and a flower bracelet is on your left wrist.

Why did you get the easy one? And the doors I went to college. Yeah. Yeah. Are you saying I was easy? Went to college- Yeah. Yours was hard ... to answer the yes/no one. I know. Why was mine the hard one? It was easy. It wasn't hard. Was that hard?

Okay, shush. Wait. She said, she said- Wait, wait, wait ... shushy. Shush. Okay, heard? What? It didn't take y- it took you a while to get perspective. It did not. The doors are opening, by the way . Sorry. It was literally the first thing I thought. The whole group bickering like, "This room's so hard." Yeah, the door begins to...

Bickering is not helping . [00:49:00] Bickering

is not part of Dungeons. Oh, um, hmm, it's open. Forward. Forward? Uh, the doors open, and you can see inside, uh, is a much smaller room by comparison. It is a chapel. There is an altar at the back of the room. There are several rows of stone pews. There is distinctly no iconography that you can see- But- ... inside the room

the door did have iconography of- Yes ... Ludum Erev. Yes

Ow. This is all my ancient texts. Uh, the captain- The deep ... will very confidently stride into the chapel. Oh, wait. This is not gonna work. I've got it, and draws a sword. Oh, Captain, I wouldn't do that. I don't know about- I don't think we know- Light 'em[00:50:00]

Actually, Drin stops talking Sure. Uh, confidently strides, uh, to the altar Does anyone follow him? No, I'm gonna wait and see what happens Kathar is still... Unfortunately, Kathar is going. There is just, like, there is a loyalty to... I think she does it as a distance. Yeah. Like, I'll go into the chapel, but I won't follow him to the altar.

I'm not next to him. I'm waiting with R- Are we both waiting outside? Yeah. I think he's about to get discorporated. Well, at least if I'm the closest, I become pirate queen. Uh, Tymbo will also, uh, stride in behind. I'll become captain. It's all according to plan. Um, and the captain marches- I don't know about that

looking, like, eyes darting back and forth. Nothing's really appearing, and he makes it all the way to the altar. There's a book. And he goes around to the backside of the book, uh, the altar. It's a [00:51:00] fake book, but there's a book. How do you know it's fake, sir? How do you know it's fake? Well, it's a carving of a book.

Oh. Oh.

Can I make a perception check to just see if there's anything that stands out within the room? Like, yeah, you, you gave us a brief description- Mm-hmm ... but if there's anything that, like, really- It feels like it's- ... feels off. Sure. Again, I'm supposed to be good at this, guys, I swear. Yeah, you went to college. I did, I went to college.

In the name of the Mercer, the Mulligan, and the Iron Guard be with you. All right, that's not bad. 19. Hey. Ah. You're welcome. I loved that. That's my new dice blessing. So like I mentioned, there are, is no real iconography on the inside. There are some sconces. There is this altar. The roo- uh, rows of pews. At first glance, the other thing that [00:52:00] stands out to you is the lack of an additional room.

Like most temples or churches- Oh, there's no, like, backroom- Would have- ... that, like, store things? Yeah ... right. There, you do not currently see any sort of door or cer- Like, this looks like a dead end to you. Well, that can't be right Does the book move? I say from outside of the chapel. Hey, Cathar. Hmm? Captain Sheathsworn.

There's no other room here. Nope. Shouldn't there be another room off of this room? Potentially, it could be hidden. She kinda starts looking around. I would- I'm gonna just start pulling on sconces, like they're- The classic, the classic doors. Just like, let's see. Can I actually just do investigation? It just, like, falls off of the wall when you grab it.

Don't, don't break things. I didn't mean to. It just, [00:53:00] it just comes off. You're a mess. Like, even with... You have minus one strength? Yeah. Yeah, even with that, it just- Oh, no. Come on. I thought it would be safe. ... it's brittle, it's just brittle and snaps. Um, please don't destroy, uh- I didn't mean to ... the temple.

Please and thank you. That's sacrilege. Sorry. That's how people get smote. Aren't the gods dead? Not all of them Not dead. And then Cathara looks back at you. Yeah. Same. She says, "Not all of them," and looks back. I just maintain eye contact. She looks back. Ooh, a game. Staring contest. Um. Cathara's gonna go- They're not dead, they're departed.

There's a difference ... she's gonna go, um, I think she's gonna really start looking at, like, the altar, and she'll kind of go around and look at, like, the kind of back area behind where, like, the, the altar kind of sort of is. Like, what may be there, kind of investigating to see if there's anything off.

Looking at different angles, looking at [00:54:00] maybe, you know, um, just things that look out of place. Okay. Um, which would be investigation Unless you want perception. I don't know. What do you want? I will take either. It might just affect the information 24 And is that perception? Perception. Okay. Um, 24. So you look around behind the altar.

And

You do manage to see... You, you think it would make sense that there's a room behind the altar. Mm-hmm. And- Maybe ... you think you see a seam where a door might be. Mm. You do not see any way that might be a mechanism to open it, just the suggestion that a door exists. You also see [00:55:00] what is Cathara's favorite language to read?

Um, uh, she oddly enough has a weird love of primordial, the nature of elements. There's this... It's, it's balance. It's different things that come together that can be destructive or it can be harmful. She really likes primordial. And can read primordial. Yes, she can. Uh, on the carving of the book on the altar in primordial, there is primordial writing on it.

So I think she goes, she goes, "Wait a minute." Uh, it says, "Help right the world. Confess your story of upsetting the balance. Then speak proudly of how you will uphold the balance." [00:56:00] Oh, God, another riddle. Oh. What riddle? Um, this book wants us to, um, talk about how we've messed up the balance and, um, within the world, and how we will achieve a way to fix it.

Is Dingus looking at the book? Yeah. Oh

What's Tingus' favorite language? Never mind, I'm j- in pictures. Yeah, I was about to say- It's a little hint maybe ... I was about to say, gnomish. I don't know what you want from me. Read the illustration. In- Like, I don't read English It shows. I don't read this. That's why I asked what riddle. Like, I can't... I don't know.

These are just scribbles. Uh, in, in a series of child- It's a long run ... children's book illustrations, you also get the sense that the [00:57:00] book would like you to help right the world, confess your story of upsetting the balance, and speak proudly of how you will uphold the balance. Oh, well I think it's pretty easy given our current situation, right?

Like, we royally upset the balance just now. Well, didn't we just kind of technically fix it? Because now he's... Well, I think Captain Willy will have to give a deeper explanation of how he plans to be a good pirate king. But, but Tingus, it does say your story. I think... What did it look like to you when you looked at the book?

A bunch of, bunch of pictures. Yeah, that's not what it looked like for me. I think it means, like, you confess your story. Oh. I confess my story. Sure. They confess their story. Well, uh-

What did the balance- I'm not confessing anything until I have a conviction, so. Oh. Do you know how you might have upset the balance? I think we might need to- I've been accused of it, okay? But there's no definitive proof. Ugh. [00:58:00] Touching, K'Thara's now gonna touch the book. Joining. The tome. The ribbon or- Okay.

Joining. Uh- She's gonna touch the book. Yep. Um, can I get any sense of, like, what it means by, like, your story upsetting the balance? Like, something that they did? Like, like something bad in her l- past that she needs to like, basically kind of confess, and like, how she'll fix it? Like, is she getting any, like, magic or a feeling- Uh

or a pull? You think that those are two... Uh, uh, I, I, uh, there is maybe an em- While you ponder this looking at the words, maybe there's an emphasis, a slight, uh, font increase, as it were- Okay ... of the word then. Uh, like they're two independent, separate tasks. Okay. So help right the world, confess your story by upsetting the balance.

Yeah. Then- Confess your story of upsetting the balance- Then ... then speak proudly of how you will uphold the balance[00:59:00]

I'm gonna look at the book because everyone else is looking at the book, and I wanna know what the book, what the deal is. It says that sentence in your favorite language. Which is what? Yeah, what is your favorite language? Elvish. Elvish. Elvish.

Riven doesn't look at the book So who feels like confessing today? "I don't understand what's going on," says the captain. Sir, what does the book say? It's blank Excuse me? Oh, 'cause he doesn't have the, the thingy. Oh, no. Does that mean I have the answer? Wait. Wait, wait, wait. No, no, no. Let's go see. Tibble. Yes?

Could you come here for a moment? Yeah, I'm here. Oh. He's been right next to the captain- I j- d- gosh There he is. Scared me. Yeah, right when you turned around. Oh, excuse me. Hello. Aren't, aren't you the sneaky one? It, it... I was pre-occupied. Tibble, is there anything on this book that you can see? [01:00:00] No. Yeah. It's us.

Maybe... I mean, it's us. Great. Lovely. Does- Yeah. Um, well, um, I guess we need to talk about how we, uh, upset the balance of, of- So we have to confess something? I assume so. And then how we're going to right it. But we have to proudly talk about how we will fix that balance. I don't think we did anything wrong.

And so this kind of- Ain't that how it goes, though? And this kind of goes back to, like, my original question, is, like, does she feel, like, speaking those words and thinking through it, does she feel a certain thing that would, like, clue her into, like, "I did this particular thing," that would make her then, like, "I did something bad, and here's how I'm gonna fix it."

Um, I would say that you do feel some sort of pull on whatever Cathara might still be harboring some guilt for, especially something that [01:01:00] hasn't been forgiven. You do not feel a certain compulsion that you have to right that wrong, but more so is there something generically good for the world and balance that Cathara has the power and ability to do.

Oh, okay. Like they're two unrelated things. Okay. So there's something- Mm. Okay ... but, like, what can she do in life to fix something else in some way? Well Is there an implement with which to write? We get to speak it. Well, no, it says write. The thing that you did wrong. Oh, sorry. It says, uh, uh- Is it write R-I-G-H-T or W-R-I-T?

Uh, he- help write the world. Well, didn't it say to write down what you did that was bad? R-I-G-H-T. Help write the world. Confess your story of upsetting the balance. Oh. Yeah. Okay, okay. Then speak proudly of how you uphold the balance. Okay, so we, we have to say it,

and then- It does also say the word speak. Okay. Yeah, that part. I thought that it was, like, carve it in the book. But, but to that- The first part, and then speak ... I [01:02:00] mean, do you try? No. Are you kidding me? Well, well I- I'm not taking out a knife and messing with it. Um...

Well, uh, what's everyone, um, what everyone, what does everyone think their life path, um, is to set them on to, uh, what you're good at, to help, what do you bring to the table, but not to the table, but to the world? But what have we done to unbalance it, the nature too? That could be something small. It doesn't have to be something- It's not directed to-

crazy, but- They're connected, but they're not ... we think about the re- riddles that we did outside, like what have we done to unbalance nature? It could be- That it doesn't have to necessarily be something we did bad, it's just something that we did to unbalance nature ... in some way, and it could be big, it could be small.

But now I think that's for something for us to deal with. [01:03:00] This is kind of a now thing. They're, they're connected, but they're not connected. Okay. So if you know what you can bring to the world to fix it, now's the time to, to shout it out. As long as you're convicted in it. Did say proud

Hmm. Guess we're not very proud people. Thing is, this is good stuff Excuse me. I'm very prideful. I'm not ... There's a difference. My entire ancestry of the Catkins, we're very proud people. Then go ahead. Start. I have to think on mine. Yeah, that's what I thought. I have a lot of things I bring to the world. I don't think that anyone is really caught on that.

I think it's what we're not proud of

Oh, I [01:04:00] know exactly what I'm not proud of Do, do you say that? Oh, yeah. I say it out loud. I'm not telling you what it is 'cause again, until I have a conviction I will admit nothing

So Riven steps to the book and says, "The way I have unbalanced nature is coming to this plane The way that I'm going to make this world better is by caring for the ocean animals and the creatures that live within the depths of the ocean And Riven feels that Mm-hmm A second flower crown bracelet grows [01:05:00] on your right wrist this time.

You have two. I'm sorry, did you say coming to this plane? We'll unpack that later. That's amazing. We got- Also gain 10 temporary hit points. We got a lot of stuff to unpack later. 10 temporary hit points. Okay. We- We won't need that. We will unpack later. The

DMs always just give that out for fun. That's our secret tool that'll be useful later. That is. We have to unpack the wings and we have to now unpack- Oh, yeah. We gotta, we gotta- ... from somewhere else. That's not important Oh, it's very important, just not right now. Yeah.

I think Athara will come up next Riven does like a, an overly gesture like, "Go off then." Uh, Tibba will actually like smile and nod very like approvingly. I

Let someone [01:06:00] die that shouldn't have, and I still continue to blame myself for that. And moving forward, I'm going to make sure that it never happens again

No matter what, if I have to give my own life, I will write and make sure nothing like that ever happens again

And a flower crown bracelet will grow on Cathara's right wrist Dritan will step up and he will put, um, his right hand on the book pages and he will say I ran twice, [01:07:00] and I will keep these fools alive

to right that wrong

And a flower crown bracelet. Oh, also 10 temporary HP and 10 temporary HP. All right. Tingus steps up.

You wanna start confessing now? Oh, uh, I'm gonna do it, but I'm gonna speak it in Gnomish. Do any of yous guys speak Gnomish? I'm about to learn. Actually- Wait. I'm about to learn. If you start speaking another language, I'ma learn it. I'm absolutely gonna speak another language. Great. Uh... Man, I should've thought of that.

I did not see it 'cause there's a little thingy that's covering it up on my, on my sheet. That's fine. Anyways- Darn it, it's Halfling. I speak Halfling. Ha, got 'em. Ooh, high five. So in, in Gnomish, Tingus, uh, says, "I was given every opportunity in the world, and I threw it away. And I swear [01:08:00] I will repay those who have been kind to me and spread the wealth that I can have to those who need it."

And a flower crown bracelet will grow on your right wrist. And- And 10 temporary hit points ... E- 10 temporary hit points. No, not for you. Oh. Yeah, yeah. You went last. You said it gnomish. Dang. Yeah, they, they didn't understand a thing you said. That wasn't proud. They don't, they don't speak gnome. And- Gnome they don't

it- Out. Out. Uh, thank you, everybody. That's, uh, session tonight, uh- Episode title. Episode title. Uh-

Sorry, everyone in your, uh, head will hear a single word You're [01:09:00] forgiven. And the door off center from the altar opens. Oh. There's your door. I knew it. Oh, this is excellent

And we will explore after we get back from our break. Thank you everybody. Ooh Thank you for sticking around and joining us. Also, if you haven't already, please hit the like button, and if you're not subscribed, go ahead and hit subscribe, ring that bell and whatnot to always be alerted when we go live.

Also, for any of you following along, uh, electric pole still on its side, five trucks outside. So we're pulling through. We're doing, we're doing great. But if we do go dark, we will likely just pick up next week, uh, and hopefully you can tune in. So for now, we [01:10:00] will jump back in to this small room, almost more of a closet of an office.

However, it is filled with several chests, an old desk, some sort of book on top of the desk, and off to some side is a shelf with a copper bowl that just like the double doors outside are surprisingly not corroded. Is surprisingly not corroded

So- I'm gonna go touch the bowl ... that's what we do. What? I touch the bowl. I got... It, it's not corroded? It's been down here for too long. [01:11:00] I, I got... I'm curious. Maybe it's just not moist down here Eh. Does he die? There's moisture everywhere. No. That's true, right? No, he's, uh, you see Tingus Pingus pick up Abel.

Cool. It's so clean Neat. I'm gonna open one- It's cobwebs and dust on it Right, I understand that, but it's, it's not corroded. Yeah. I'm gonna open one of these chests. Uh, the captain's like, "Excellent." As you, like swing open a chest. Uh, yes, it is filled with gold and silver. Pretty. A few sapphires, rubies. She takes the sapphire.

Sure. Excuse me. We do have to split that with the crew. Yeah. Oh, she does it sneakily Retroactively? Retroactively she was sneaky?

Wait a minute. No, she says that out loud. Says that out loud. I didn't- Like, "No, no, no. I did it sneakily. I did it sneakily, guys." Yeah, you didn't see me. No, no, no. That don't work. Okay, so is that a persuasion check instead of [01:12:00] a stealth- That don't work. I- Instead of a stealth check? Oh, please.

The captain's like, "All right." Um, but it's, it's like... Is it... Are there any artifact type things in there, or is it just- This is true ... like gems and gold, silver, that kind of thing? Inside this chest? Yes. Well, I mean, no, you could like dig down and in, and there's- I'm not gonna super- Like Scrooge McDucking in this

but I'm just gonna like a little bit move it to the side. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, as like, no, as you gingerly kind of push coins around, no. I take a step back. Anything else? What's wrong with the bowl? What... Put, put the bowl on your head. See, something's gotta be wrong with this bowl. It's- No, I just think it's a, it's a copper bowl that somehow isn't-

oxidized down here. Can I start ritually casting Detect Magic? Yeah. I'm gonna start that. I'm gonna move over to the desk now. Okay. Yeah, I've already- Just rummage. No, I've, I've definitely gone through that. You said there was a book on it? The... Yeah, there is a [01:13:00] book. Oh, okay. And he's like... It is a leather-bound journal.

Kathara's like, "Mm-mm." Do you do that sneakily? No. Okay. I'm doing it in front of you. I'm literally the quartermaster. I'm like first mate. She just does what she wants. Uh, yeah, Kathara's definitely gonna go and just kind of pick it up and go, "Hmm." Opens it up. Okay. Flips a few pages. Sees what's inside. Uh, there it is in fact a journal.

It seems to be a journal... Also, I should mention, you have to be incredibly careful. Yeah, she's like- With the age of this book, like exactly, like one- S- lightweight ... like to not rip the page from the binding. Light, delicate- Right. It, it is quite old- ... page turning ... but is together. The pages are still mostly legible.

Um, there is, [01:14:00] uh, several... So this adventure, adventurer quick passages is detailing trying to find different treasures and artifacts, and there is quite a large section including sketches of a dark angular blade. Uh, written above it Blade of Zhia. And different passages on places they have tried, places they are still going to try.

E- and in fact, towards the end is an entry potentially about this very island. Mm. Definitely going to try and read over that to see if, you know, did they find it here? If they didn't find it here, what else [01:15:00] is there? You know? Yeah. Where were they- ... headed off to next? Or did they meet their end here? Because if, if the journal was left here, that begs the question of did they get out?

So there was, uh, almost an exasperation or frustration of it not being here, and not knowing- Mm ... where to go next- Mm-hmm ... or if there was a previous place, especially early on, that wasn't investigated thoroughly enough. Oh. And do they have to start retracing their steps? Okay. She's gonna- But- Yeah ... there's nothing else to suggest that they went anywhere after here or...

And there's an awkward amount of pages, empty pages at the end. Like- Okay ... the book is not full, [01:16:00] but there's not exactly a lot of blank pages left. Okay.

Okay, so more things can be written? Yes. So I'm gonna take that and she'll place it gingerly in one of the bags that she kind of keeps with her, uh, moving some things apart and just kind of shoving it down. Um, so, um, I guess we found... I'm just gonna look around. Uh, there's our win, the chests of treasure.

Why didn't they take it? I don't know Chris, are there drawers on this desk? Maybe someone didn't get in. Uh, yes. Rummage. Uh, as you start rummaging, uh, some of the wood begins, like creaking and cracking. I'm not being like super aggressive about it, but like- Understood ... yeah. It's barely holding together.

Yeah, yeah. Okay. Um, [01:17:00] the drawers are empty. Damn.

That's fair. Understandable. Uh, I think Cathara's still just like, I don't, she doesn't expect that there is more, like, secret passages, but she's gonna still do that kind of survey around to see if they're missing anything. Is there anything else that she should, that might catch her attention that might be something she wants to bring with her?

Um, or at least bring back to the boat. Sure.

It's not great Oh, there it is There it is ... had to come down I mean, it did hit the- The bubble burst ... it hit the, it did hit the milestone No, it doesn't matter I know it didn't. Yeah. Um, 14 Um, you do see, uh, the captain and Tybalt have opened the other two [01:18:00] chests. They look similar to the first- Mm-hmm ... uh, being valuables, but not distinctly an artifact.

The shelves were weirdly barren besides the- Minus the bowl ... bowl that Tingus took. Uh- I put it back ... you don't really- Oh, no, I'm taking it. I'm- Oh, you put it back on the shelf. I was gonna say, if you put it back- Oh ... I'm definitely still taking that bowl, 'cause I have an, I have a, I have a thing in my head that I'm thinking that it might be related to.

Um, and it- She goes, "His bowl." There's nothing else. Yeah. I think that there's a matching set. There's nothing else that pings off. However, um, you... We will jump to the end of your ritual. My detect magic. Detect magic. Yeah. Uh- I'm kind of just, um-

Sort of like squatting on the ground and I have my hand in the dirt. Um, and [01:19:00] I'm gonna take a small vial, um, out of... Like I have like a little, um, sort of like a pouch specifically for a vial, and I'm gonna just it, and my eyes sort of gloss for a minute, and that's my, my ritual cast. Oh. The way I'm flavoring it.

Nice. Uh- Mm ... so do your eyes come back or do they stay glazed over while you're looking around? Um, I'll say they stay glazed over while I'm looking around. Nice. Uh, so you begin looking around. The door is magical. If you look in the room behind you, the altar and carving are magical. How about that bowl?

Inside this room the, the bowl is magical. That's

what I thought. Um- I have a thought. She's just kind of like, "Mm." Kithara. Hmm?

I can sense magic coming off of that I love that you're so thorough. I have a weird feeling- ... that this is one of two. [01:20:00] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Hmm. You see the doors are- Plus there's, like, some scale to put on ... copper doors that seem to have not aged with being in a sea-like area, and then you have this bowl who's locked away.

If you're detecting magic on it and sensing something, I believe we may have to find some scales. I get the school of magic with detect magic, right? Yep. Cool. Perfect timing. I just finished Googling it. It's divination. Divin- What's that one again? Makes sense. Uh, makes sense. What's, what's that one again, divination?

That's the one. Divination's kinda like- It's seeing things, right? ... it's fate, it's prophecy. Oh, true. It's looking forward, the importance. Okay. Um- Um. That one. Yeah. Hmm. I'll... I don't... I'm not gonna call it divination, but he'll say that, um, it feels like- Like a type of wizardry ... sight magic. Hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I do believe this might be one of two bowls to potentially find a set of scales.

I don't happen to, like, feel [01:21:00] the aura of another one in here, do I? Is there somehow another bowl someplace? Um, no, you do not feel- That's so, so unfortunate. Darn. Kitchenware. Can I start, like, I don't know it There's gotta be more to this. Um... Secret tunnel. I was gonna say is that I'm, I'm gonna start looking around for, like, any sort of, like, secret compartment or- He's full of- Yeah.

Like, are you looking for things? Guidance. I love when you do that. I... Can I also help look for things? So I get advantage? Uh, yes. That's, that's what I'm going for, yeah. Advantage. 1d4. Cool. I enjoy the fact that you guys love to g- to give, uh- You get to re-roll your guidance dice, too ... mansplaining, uh, with- I get to re-roll my guidance dice?

With advantage, yes. I view your guidance as mansplaining. Like- Oh, I didn't know I could... Really? Hey, you're not great. Here, let me help you. Let me just- Let me just- Well, it was worse, so- No, I'll take the first one ... the first one. [01:22:00] Um, let me just see. Investigation. Uh, that... Good thing I rolled well, 'cause I have a plus zero.

Uh, that's a 20 total. Yeah. Oh, very nice. Yeah. Thank you, Riven. I mean, it's the least I could do. Oh, what? Tingus gets nothing? Oh, well, I, I was thinking abo- Wow. I was thinking above table. I, I didn't... Wow. Noted. Tingus, you are the best. Pre- Let, let your- Uh-huh, uh-huh ... your basketball be praised. Let them sing- That's not how-

sing hymns of your- We'll, we'll talk, we'll talk about- ... greatness ... we'll talk about that later. Let them cheer your name in every stadium you play in.

Um. Oh. So you look around. What's a stadium?

You do not s- find anything in this room. Uh, you look around the altar. [01:23:00] Uh, you distinctly don't sense anything else magical in the chapel, uh, or around the altar. Doesn't look to be another suggestion of an, of a second hidden room

Um, that will take a bit. That's fine. Yeah. Uh, how long? Detect magic is 10 minutes. Uh... The duration of it? Yeah. Let me check. 10 minutes. What is Tybalt doing right now? Dur- yeah- Um- ... concentration up to 10 minutes. Gotcha. He's just watching us. No, he's helping the captain, I would assume. I think waiting is the most accurate.

Okay. Like, yes, observing, but not in a super, like, hawk eyes- Mm ... judgey way. Just kind of standing by. Okay. Um, Riven's- Oh, that's good ... gonna, like, stealthily... Guys, I said it beforehand. [01:24:00] Oh, hey, look at that. Um- Wow ... just take a button off of his coat. Is he wearing a coat? Yeah. I don't... Well, whatever, jacket, for t- shirt, whatever.

Yeah, long flowing coat. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Sure. Yeah. Whatever, whatever he's wearing. Yeah. A little button or a little scrap of fabric. Just something small. Uh- That's what I'm doing. Okay. From the front? No, from behind. Like, behind. Like, she's just- Okay ... 'cause she's just, like, wandering around. Right. Okay. I don't know that there's a button on the back.

Okay. For sure. Maybe it's... Well- Then a scrap of cloth ... well, okay, so there is a- Anything that's, like, loose on him Is his hand down so he's got, like, a, a, a wrist bu- cuff button? So actually, this hasn't, this hasn't come up previously, but Tybalt does- Cuff buttons ... only have one hand. Oh. Whoa. Oh, okay. The other is, is- My sweet man

a more, uh, mechanical contraption, and the sleeve [01:25:00] is cu- Artifice ... kinda up- Okay ... so that it kinda dangles off. So maybe from that one- Yeah ... you could actually take one of the- Yeah ... cuff buttons. That's what, that's what she's gonna do. Okay. All right. And you're trying to stealth, so you would like to- Yeah.

Okay. Yep. Go for it. Okay. Ooh. Oh. Ooh. That was almost bad. Do you want me to do stealthy or sleight of hand? Uh, sleight of hand. Uh, 18.

Uh, you get the button Cool. She's gonna just pocket it, and she's gonna stealthily, like, put it... Like, no one watches her basically. No one sees what she's doing. I mean, even passive, I don't hit that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Passive, I don't hit that.

Could I, as I'm looking around, um, use healing hands on Saja? Yeah. Cool. We're gonna do that. What's my proficiency bonus? Damn, all this [01:26:00] time, and now you're healing Saja. Love that. Well, I realized when I went to the bathroom, I was like, "Oh, my cat's hurt." I should probably fix that. It is like... Where's my- Saja's like, over there growling like- Something's wrong with the world.

Yeah. That's what's out of balance. That's, that was the thing. Oh, yeah. That was it. That was the thing. Uh. What's your proficiency bonus? We figured it out. It's a three, two. Had you read that wrong? Uh, two. Two. Healed my cat. Um, all right. Uh, so the detect magic has worn off, but you are decently confident.

There was no other... Like, you, you definitely got an aura from the other obviously magical items like the copper doors and things like that. Okay. Mm-hmm Cool. All right, I guess we just, we, we get some, some of the boys down here, haul out treasure [01:27:00] M- m- no, we, we have to bring it now. That's way too much time.

We've already spent enough time here. Is it too much time? Can't waste a trip. Yeah. Yeah, all right. Then we'd have to come back. So we'll grab a chest. How many chests are there? Just loads it. Three. How many chests are there? Three? Three. He just solos it. Um, Riven tries to grab it. It's heavy, so So heavy.

Riven tries to grab one. Yes, it is very heavy. All right, we're doubling it up. Ah. I should maybe clarify, these are more moderately sized. Oh, okay. They're not- Oh, no, uh, Kethara has... So the bowl, is it, like, normal bowl size, or is it, like- Big bowl Bowl size. Big bowl. Soup bowl. Okay. Like a personal serving.

Okay. Kethara's like, "My hands are full. I have to protect this divine potential artifact." Then you don't get as much. You don't take the load, you don't get as much That's- That's the rules ... that's fine. I buy everything anyways. Well, we have to split it with the crew. Exactly, [01:28:00] sir. All right, I mean, I grab a chest.

Or I guess attempt to. It's gonna be two- Yeah ... two, and two. Yeah. Your eminence. Your eminence. So what was the part before the sassy eminence? I said wonderful. Isn't it just?

And I, I'll help somebody with- And tears, tears are in two of them. She's just like... Ooh, ooh. Mm-hmm. I will help some- Can you help me, please? Yes. Thanks. And I'll, I'll help Riven with one of the other chests. Perfect. Uh- I do think it's important to mention we can't go back the way we came in. Yeah, we have to go through- Correct

where everybody left. Yeah, we can't. Well, why not? What... I'm gonna look to Tybalt. Well, you see, we came from- Can you fly? Uh- But he's got wings ... 'cause only, only one of us can fly. Well, y- t- I... It's true. Uh-huh. You've got wings, right? That's- Hmm ... not important. I think- I think it's good ... again, it is important I mean- [01:29:00] Tybalt

just not right now. Yes? I mean, it saved my life. It's pretty important. What happened to you all on your way here that you ended up in the state that you are? Oh, right. Uh- We're liable to run into it again if we go out the way you came in. I think we found most of the traps. Oh, good. Most of them? Yeah, I'm sure.

We leave out through the way that, um, Haj and, and Mai left- We- ... and then we go back north because that's where our ship is. Mm-hmm. Amazing. Yes. The captain should go first. Agreed. Well, yes, he has to lead. Lead by example. He's now king. It's true. This all makes sense to me. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Draw sword.

Huh? Forward. Yep. Yes, sir. Go commit piracy. Um, I can't see. No piracy. Does anyone have a light? Oh, uh, Tybalt, do you, do you... Should I- I just snapped my fingers. And? Um, [01:30:00] and there's a small... I think I have to put it on an object, right? The light- ... the light spell? Yeah, well, it has to go on a, on an object. No, he's not getting it.

Please? He's not getting it. Or please? Or a person. Touch the tip of his sword. Well, no, I'm... I didn't, I didn't, I didn't say out loud. Just the tip. I think I explained that. But just the tip. I did not say that out loud. Just the tip. Just the tip. Come on. No. Just the tip. The whole thing will light up. I'm- Just the tip

going to just have the chest that Riven and I are carrying light up. Light up. Mm. Ah. Yeah. With a, with like a f- a... It's kind of like a ghostly, um, white-ish light that was similar to how my wings were transparent. Oof, spooky. Yeah. Spooky. So are you going towards the front then? Yes, yes, sir. We'll- Behind him.

Yeah, right behind him. Yeah, but, but like a good- Okay. Everyone's... He'll take a few steps, and then, like, try to, like, move out of the way, but then, like, need to get in front- No. Mm-hmm ... 'cause, like, he's casting a shadow of him- Yeah ... where's Ja- Keep going in front. This is pretty [01:31:00] inconvenient. You're doing great, sir.

I, thank you. Tybalt has a lantern. Oh, yep. I'll hand the lantern to the captain. The captain will light it and proceed. This is a bit better. Um- So you work your way backwards through this dungeon. You see a lot. You see several pits in the floor. You see now currently stationary blades just kind of dead fall hanging You see kind of broken apart suits of armor just kind of on the floor as you go through these subsequent rooms Well, um, seeing all of this, um, I [01:32:00] do think we've got a great track record j- coming in from the top.

Yeah, it seems to really be working out. And I really think we should keep g- doing that if we get another treasure chest. Not gonna lie, it was probably easier. It really, great point. We did really get the drop on them. Sure did. Can I try to make an insight check on Tybalt to see if he's figured out just how much we do not respect the captain from the way, like, we're talking?

Like- Like, 'cause we keep telling him, like, "Go to the front," and like, like, stuff like that. Yes, sir. And he's clearly, like, very- It's v- it's all very patronizing ... you know what I'm saying? Like, hey, here, try out the captain. Oh, I'll make an insight check and see if he's picking up what we're doing. It's 'cause of the hat.

Yeah. Okay, cool. Do we even need to make a check to see if we can figure that out? Yes. Okay. Yes. Uh, Tybalt is the- Mm. Yeah ... epitome of professionalism ... I have no idea. I am just- What was it? What

was [01:33:00] the die? ... two plus some stuff. I don't know what stuff, but not good stuff. Uh- I'll deal with that later ... two plus three, five. Oh, my God. What do I think, Chris? Uh, man, such a stone wall. Unfortunately. How to even tell. So, uh, Tybalt, tell us about yourself. Oh, I guess this is as good a time as any. As he's, like, slightly out of breath, like heaving for breath.

What would you like to know? What was it like working with her? I think on the whole, good

Scarlett always had a bit of a reputation, of course. And there was maybe an amount of Cruelty that was higher than needed. Uh, there was always a reason for it. Uh, [01:34:00] how good of a reason was it? Could depend

On the whole, I am not, uh, I am not celebrating

Uh, but I think it is proper to celebrate her life Will you miss her? Of course. She was a part of me in a way Can you extract Blade on that? The back part's like Eh, you know. What do you mean? What do... What, what, she's a part? You- Yeah, you know, we, we are but mosaics of the broken pieces of people we interact with in our lives.

Oh. Oh, okay. So he also went to college. [01:35:00] Ah, yes. Um, well, he's cat kin. We have the prowls. Actually, Kibble. Yep? What prowl are you a part of? Iron. Interesting. Good old iron. Interesting. What does that mean? Ash, myself That makes sense. Hmm.

River- Chris, can I make a history check to see if I understand any of that? What does that mean? Yeah, go for it. I'll keep my secrets. I'm making a history check to see- That's what that means ... that's what that means. She'll keep her secrets. I'll keep my secrets. So Ash is a secret group, and what about... What was yours?

Oh my God. Why won't this work? Iron. Iron. Yes. What does that one mean? Uh- Ooh, 21 ... we try to invent things. Everyone explain yourself. I don't care. No, no, no, this is a history check. Did you invent anything fun? 'Cause I went to college, see if I know about it. 21 to know about what they're talking about. Uh, y- yes.

This is, this is not surface level knowledge, but, like, it's [01:36:00] the first layer down. Uh, Catkin have a, a very formal education system divided into multiple schools that they call Prowls. Uh, there is Iron, Blood, and Ash, all which have a concentration on a certain style of- Focus ... both direct... Yeah, yeah, a focus.

Um, they all include a certain level of basic training. Um, Blood would be your tactician, leadership, traditional battlefields. Trainers. Yeah, martial studies. Um, Ash, more secretive- Recon ... less public knowledge. Yeah, yeah. The, I would say there's probably the least public information on the Ash Prowl. Yeah.

I'm gonna practice my skills. And then the, the Iron Prowl is, is focused on, uh, tinkering, invention, advancement, sciences. [01:37:00] Explains the hand. Uh, could, yes. Yeah. You make anything cool? Uh, I think so, but it's also been quite a while. I've been away for a good amount of time. Oh, okay. I've made different attachments.

Like, to your arm? Yes. Like what? Different tools for different jobs. Where are they? Uh, I don't think I- Oh, no ... have too much on me. Does that mean they got- Oh ... taken away with... It does. We'll just have to make some new ones. True. That is exciting. Can probably make them better. Exactly. Hmm. Opportunity.

Advancement, sciences, education. Yes. Yeah. All those things. Has no one thought about the fact that this man is going to meet Jim on our ship? That's fine. At the boat table. That's fine. It's gonna be great. It's fine. That's fine. Okay.

I don't think it's really [01:38:00] that big of a pr- problem, honestly So you, you proceed- Confidently ... you proceed, uh, backwards through this dungeon. Um, as you approach one room, uh, Tybalt does say to stop and be a little bit more careful. Mm-hmm. Sure. Uh, but with your bright lights and lanterns, you are able to traverse around some, uh, pressure plates- Mm.

Mm. Mm ... uh, that were previously dodged, and you can continue to. Um, as they actually left, uh, uh, they distinctly placed ball bearings on- So they know- Sure ... what to avoid ... some to help them navigate, so you're able to just kind of walk around the tiles, uh, and plates that had ball bearings on them. Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. You know, weird thing, as we get closer to eventually the outside of this, [01:39:00] uh, temple, dungeon, cave thing, um, just be on the ready in case maybe- Oh, an ambush? ... Mai or Haj feels a certain kind of way about what occurred down here. An ambush, um, potentially trying to, I don't know, get what we might have found, things like that.

I mean, I would like to hope not, but one can never be too careful. And piracy and what. That too. It, it is a very good point, yes. I wouldn't put it past them. I don't imagine she would leave behind part of the crew, though. Urgency is... Well, there's a lot of urgency with, with her mission now. What is her mission?

Oh, yeah, what was that spell you cast on the, the thing you took? The finger? Yeah, that one. It was the finger. He took a finger? Yes. It was [01:40:00] to give her- Preserve life? ... the best shot. Preserve life. Yes. Mm. Mm. To preserve life, an extra- Resurrection and whatnot, yes. Right. Yeah. As long as there's a piece. Yeah.

Wait. Yeah. Wait, wait, what? There's a chance? Yeah. Yes. Mai is gonna do her best. And I- He, he- How far away do you think they are? From- From someone who can help. It's not going to be easy. Uh, the amount of time that has passed and the fact that a full body is not present means higher level magics are required- Mm-hmm

beyond my capabilities. Sure Most of those clerics are tied in with the empire- Mm-hmm ... and are absolutely not- Mm. True ... going to bring back a pirate, let alone Captain Scarlett. [01:41:00] Mm. So the journey to find a high enough level, like a high enough magical entity willing to bring her back- That's a tall order

will be quite the adventure. But I felt it was only correct to give a parting gift, as it were. Sure. The little that I could do

I hope it works

That is kind. I know no one else does, but I do It was a bad way to go Truly not honorable. The guy's are right here. Oh, I wasn't talking about you. This, this was an accident. Well...[01:42:00]

Was it an accident, Captain? Yes. Insight check.

Has

he been playing

us this entire time? That's what I wanna know. And I'll keep wondering forever. Crit fail. Oh, yeah. You're like, yeah. Just, hmm. Yeah, that sounds about right. Keep your secrets. Yeah, that tracks. That tracks. Okay I feel like we kind of- So what do we do now that you're the- The pirate king ... king of the pirates?

That's a good point. I feel like we have to go back to port. Wait, do we need- Is there one treasure- Do, do we have to- ... that we're looking for then? Uh- Who's going to believe that- That's my next question is- Yeah, that is, that's true ... how do we- I mean, h- as much as I don't want it to be true, I feel like Maia's not gonna be very quiet about this.

And I suppose we have you. And I point at Tywll. [01:43:00] Uh, yes, absolutely. Like, my, my word will go decently far. It's a very difficult thing to lie about, though it may take some- It's such a bold claim, like- It is ... you can't- Very bold ... you can't really make this without, with lying. Right. I mean... 'Cause if you did, I mean, you would just die for even claiming so if it was false.

Right. Mm. You do understand the number of people that are going to be- Out trying to kill you, right, sir? Sure, you're on top now. Wait, does that mean people are gonna try to kill us? Ugh. But I am the charmer. Hmm. Huh. Yes. Vicariously, but yes. Potentially. Ooh. Cool. That is, uh, oh, uh- Okay ... hmm. I mean- Noted ... yeah, you know.

Just, I don't know. That is actually, I didn't think about that. It's kind of cool. Uh, the captain does- Oh, did you get- ... actually look slightly distraught, [01:44:00] uh, at this idea. Do, do you wanna be the pirate king? I could just kill you and I could become the pirate queen- No, no, I mean, I mean- ... and then you don't have to worry about it

putting your lives, I, I've involuntarily put all of your lives at a much deeper risk than you signed on for. Hmm. Is it? Well, we signed on for piracy, and if- Piracy means- ... not being a part of the best crew in the oceans, I don't know why you would wanna be a pirate. It's kind of pirate-y. King. You're right, we are the best crew.

You, you could probably hear that

face palm. Yes, sir. It looks like he's going to have an aneurysm. You can absolutely hear the face palm. I just turn to everybody- Yeah, totally us ... and say, "If we stick together as a team, we'll be all right." Uh, you are able to leave, uh, the cave As you see, it is [01:45:00] Approaching dusk Figured as much Figured as much.

So we're going back to the ship, right? Going back to the ship. Probably should before- Probably will ... it gets too dark. Um, even in, it is dusk, it is still light enough. Well, we do know that there's also no big predators here Yeah. No, we did f- No ... we did find that out. I found that out. Okay. We, we did confirm that.

That's not just a- Okay

To like I mean, if we do need to camp out, I mean, we could, but- Oh, I was just gonna say walk the whole time. Oh, yeah. Just- Yeah ... well, we are carrying large chests, so. Yeah I say we push through. Yeah. Uh, I need perception checks from everyone. Knew it. Yeah. We have temp HP. Perception. I'm good at this- Ooh

supposedly. 11. Guide yourself. I know, I always forget. [01:46:00] Five. Guide yourself on everything. 15. Damn. 13 passive, if it matters. Um, that's gonna be a 24. 11. Okay. I'm worried about this damn door. 15 24 Come to that in a second. 24. Uh, you see, uh, already the Crimson Revenge, the ship belonging to Captain Scarlet, is growing smaller in the distance, sailing away on their mission, on their journey

Uh, both of you see ripples in the water as soon as you become hit by the light invisible Humanoid fish [01:47:00] creatures begin walking on shore towards you all Do, are they walking threateningly? Yes. Great. Farah's bowl's going in the bag. She's... thunk. I need you all to roll for initiative. Tossing my hood up.

Initiative. First initiative of, uh, the game. Now I roll high. Now you roll well. Let's roll this other die. Can you pride yourself on initiative? Is that a thing? Woof. I didn't think so. Yeah, I was gonna say. That's okay. I'd rather not go first anyways. Mm. Well, no, I do wanna go first. Ooh, is that... That's not cocked right.

No, it's not. Well, what if it was? Oh, wait, sorry. I'm sorry. Yes, it was. It was totally. Not great. No, it's very much not. Great. It's not cocked. Five. Ooh, nice. Mm. Yeah. Um, is Sasha going on my initiative, right? That's how... Yes, as- Yes. Yes. That's what I thought. All righty. Uh, high initiatives. Anybody over 20? [01:48:00] No.

All righty. Over 15. 19. 19

Nothing else 15 or higher? Nope. Nope. All righty. 10 or higher. 12. Oh. And... Eight. Eight, and... Five. Okay

You're the ones that saw it too. And I drew my sword first, I mean- Jenga's seen nothing. It took me a second to drop the chest, okay? I had to deal with a bowl and a very old journal, okay? Interesting

Uh

Riven Yes'm [01:49:00] You are the first to act Yes'm You see, uh, not too far from you- Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on. Sorry. Okay Um, uh, sh- it's a feature, hold on. I've, I have Rikus Audacity. Uh, I said eight, we need to add... It's gonna be 10 I don't think it changes anything. I'm just saying- ... I was like, wait, I have an additional plus two to this.

So yeah- Excellent ... it's 10. I don't know if it changes anything, but I'm just saying. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, let me give you this irrelevant information. Hey, it could be. I could've gotten ahead of, like, maybe one of the bad guys. I'm assuming they're gonna just act as a group

Now, Riven, there are there are five of these creatures- Mm-hmm ... that have surfaced running towards you. Uh, [01:50:00] they are currently 50 feet away. 50. Okay. What would you like to do? What would I like to do? 'Cause now they're not in what I wanted to do. Um, I will cast Ray of Frost at them. Ooh, nice. Oh, for, uh, for what it's worth, I forgot to mention, they are armed with, uh, spears and tridents.

Cute. Okay. I'm gonna cast Ray of Frost at one of them. Sure thing. The closest one, obviously. 11 plus five. Fif- 16. Uh, hits. Sick. Um, 1d8.

Seven damage, cold damage. And it's, uh, reduced by 10 feet of speed Ooh until the, my next turn Okay, then. Cold. All righty And [01:51:00] then wait, as a bonus action, I'm gonna cast emanation around me. Okay. Um, so I have to use o- one of my wild shapes. Let's go. Um, and so, um, in the five foot around me, there's just like a wall of sea mist that just kind of sprays, like, around me almost like a, like a mini, like, dust storm, but it's, um, ocean spray for 10 minutes.

It's real nice. What does it do? Um, it, um, it, when people get in five feet, they take 3d6 of damage. Oh. So they, they have to be next to me, but- Brutal. Oh. And, and as a bonus action I can give it- It's real nice- Yeah ... for Circle of Sea druids. Ah, super nice. And bonus action, I can choose a creature that I see, and the target must save a con save, um, on a spell DC and take cold, or take cold damage against my...

Yeah. Yeah. That's awesome. Turn into an animal or do- Or then they get pushed 15 feet away also- Mm ... if they don't. Very cool. So it's like a really nice barrier. Okay. [01:52:00] Yeah. That's sweet. So- So nothing happens now ... uh, interestingly, the fish are up next. So they maintain running forward, though they will now be, four of them will be 20 feet away.

They stop and ready their weapons. The fifth one is surprisingly slower. They seem agitated by it.

Tingus, it is your turn. Uh- Oh, can I call to them? Sorry. Yes, yeah. Okay. Um, don't come any closer. Uh, and then they moved forward. Uh

And they ready themselves. Mm-hmm. Tingus, you are up. Uh, cool. So I guess I'm going to, uh, drop the chest that I'm carrying. Mm-hmm. I'm not particularly worried about if it stays closed or not. [01:53:00] Mm-hmm. Uh, and for my action I will use my, uh, armor of shadows invocation and cast mage armor on myself. Mm-hmm. Uh, which I guess stylistically just kind of...

Uh, you kind of see Tingus' clothes transform a little bit to be more in line with, uh, an actual, like, basketball uniform. Like, more so than it already is. Uh, and you see- It's terrible, it fits ... the number 24 appear on the back. Oh. Uh, and then as a bonus action I'll summon my basketball with my hand and just, uh...

You know, Tingus normally is, like, pretty easygoing and whatnot. Face hard. Like, we are locked in. Game mode. Time to go. Uh, and I guess I will... They're 20 feet away? Uh, yes, and one that's 30[01:54:00]

I guess I'll hold position. Okay. Kathara? Yeah. Um, I guess I'm gonna square up on one of the guys that's coming up to us. I'm gonna close that 20 feet- Okay ... on one of them. Um, first, uh, she is going to bonus action steady aim as she plants her feet, um, to ready an attack, which then gives her advantage on this roll.

Okay. As long as they don't move, um, any movement after that

19 plus ... Oh my God, 19 plus five, so 24 to hit. Hits. Great[01:55:00]

36. So I get sneak attack.

Wait, no. There it is. Ah

Uh, take 11 points of damage, um, as she stabs into this, this guy

Make sure there's no modifies. And because she's hit him with this, this creature with, uh, her rapier, it has the vex property. Um, I have advantage on my next roll against that creature before the end of my next turn. Excellent. They blub in frustration. You, uh, whatever. Aldrin. Okay. Um, I'm going to drop the chest, throw my hood up, um, so I've got [01:56:00] the weird, like, rat ears.

Um, and then I am going to rush forward, um, scimitar in one hand, short sword in the other hand. Um, and I'm going to attempt to get into flanking if I can with the one that Kathara just hit. Sure. Do I have that space? Okay. And then I'm going to make an attack first with my scimitar. That's important. Uh, that's 14 plus- Fudge.

How much do I add to that? Ah. Scimitar, plus finesse. Um, 19 total. Yes, absolutely hits. Okay. All right. So that's 1d6 plus three. Ooh, that's very cocked. That's also cocked, but... Okay. Okay. That's six damage, um, on that creature. [01:57:00] And then because that the shortswor- sorry, because that the scimitar has the nick property, um, when I make an extra attack of the light property, I can make it as part of the same attack action instead of a bonus action.

Ooh, twins. Um, so yes, so now I'm going to go in with my shortsword. Do I still have advantage 'cause of flanking? Yes. Awesome. Uh, it's a little bit lower, but that is going to be-

16 to hit 16 hits 16 hits. Okay. So short sword offhand is going to be...

Uh, that's just two damage for that one, 'cause it's my offhand. Um, and then as my bonus action, um, I am going to, um, command Saaja to attack the same [01:58:00] person if they're not down. Okay. And they, they are not down. They're not down? Okay. So- Um, does... She can't have advantage 'cause I'm in the flanking position, right?

Um, in this instance, no. Okay. Because I forgot to mention I normally use a different house rule for flanking. Okay. And so we're using the traditional one for this fight, so. Okay. Yes. All right. So she does not have advantage. 18 plus stuff. So bad. 18 plus stuff hits. 18 plus stuff. Okay. Um, so I'm so glad I made a flowchart for this.

All right, so she's going to take her B strike, um, which is better than the damage that I do.

But I rolled a one. Yikes. Um, so that's gonna be one plus two [01:59:00] plus three, uh, six more damage- All right ... to this individual. Uh, they are very badly hurt. And that is the end of my turn. Clinging on, as it were. I'm gonna stay locked in combat

Uh, that will bring us back to the start. Riven So I'm gonna cast pois- how, are they still 20 feet away? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Except the one that's 30. Yeah. Um, so I'm gonna cast poison spray on the closest one that's 20 feet away. Yeah. Um Looking at my cheat sheet. And this

is what I'm talking about

18 plus five. 18 plus five. 23. Absolutely yes. That's my math face. Um, okay, 1D12 I always [02:00:00] forget which one they told us. There it is. Of course. Nice. One- Love it. Big damage. So much. Um, as sh- she, she does it, she sprays out, but not all, all of it gets on him. Only a little bit. So she only gets one point of damage on him.

Still counts. Ink, black ink spray comes out of her mouth like a cuttlefish. Nice. Cuttlefish are creepy. All righty. Um, and then she's gonna move

No, she's gonna stay. Just kidding. Okay. That brings us to the fish. Uh, they swarm, uh, Cathara and Aldrin That was a great move. Whoa. Don't, please. Encircling. Oh my gosh, we're in the middle of a dance battle. You have some fancy footwork, Aldrin. Uh, we'll do... What's the initial order? Okay. [02:01:00] So these are for, uh- My AC is so high.

Cathara, are you at full health? Um, I'm not at full health, but I have... I'm most current, and then I still have the temp. Okay. But why? That's weird. Reasons. 'Cause reasons. Uh-huh. Oh, no. They have cat-ca-tools as well. No. Don't, don't- Don't I have- ... some attacks do extra damage if you're not at full health? If you're already hurt?

Yeah. Correct. Okay. I'm one hit away. Um, yeah. That's meaningful. Okay. So that is a 13 and an 18 to hit Cathara. The 18 hits. Okay. And just for ease, that is a... That's cocked. Down, kinda, 'cause it was low enough. Uh-

Uh, so an 11 and a 17 to hit Aldrin Oh, the [02:02:00] 17 hits, the 11 doesn't Okay. Wonderful

And... Oh, right, it's other one. Okay, let's do that first. They are, uh, all four of them are attempting to stab with their spears/tridents Oh, okay Uh, that is six damage for each of you. Okay. Okay. Pretty good, pretty good, pretty good. Now That is, uh, 21 to hit Kathara and 10 to hit Kathara Uh, the 21 hits And then 21 and nine.

Sorry, 21 and crit for the bites on Aldrin. Yeah, those will both hit

I'm over here going, "I've played so much-" Okay ... like Blazing Wizard, I'm just like sitting here going, "Silvery." Uh, seven damage- [02:03:00] Okay ... to Aldren. Wait, I gotta do math now. Five to Githaro. Wait, including the crit? Still doing good. Oh, excellent point. I have to be honest. Three more. Okay. I gotta be honest. I wasn't gonna give you extra, but since you asked so kindly.

Since you asked. That's so nice. Have some more. Hey. Thank you, sir. May I have another... I mean, if I die this combat- I respect the- ... you'll never learn what the wings were about ... I respect the honesty. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Tibalt, please. Heal- This is how we get plot holes. Tibalt please, make sure that Dren doesn't die, because I need to know why they have wings.

Do you say that? Yes. That is quite the mystery. It looked cool, though. Exactly. Don't let him die. I just glower at you. Can we please focus on not dying? Uh, the, the fifth one is going to throw its trident [02:04:00] at, uh, Riven. Okay. A swirling of sea. Um, oh, that might actually... Huh, 22. Yeah. I got might. Actually, no, it doesn't.

Just... Oh, sorry. Really? No. Uh, for- I'm actually a level 22. Yeah. But- Surprise. I'm actually a god. Ooh. Wild shapes into an elemental. Wild shapes into a goldfish. Can't hit what you can't see. Four. Damage. Four? Yes. Heck yeah. Okay. And it gives you a trident. Ah. Owie.

They stay put, however. This was the one that you like kind of froze- Okay ... and decreased. Okay. So they're still 30 feet away from the group. Uh, 10 feet away from Aldrin and Kithara- I think they're bad fishies ... and the group. Yes. I think sushi's on the menu. Think as you will. I haven't had enough for [02:05:00] good dinner.

I'll just eat you all. Um, I will- Little stereotypical, but okay. Whatever, they're fish people. I'm a cat. Yeah. Meow. I'm going to huck my basketball at one of the fish that is surrounding Kithara and Aldrin. Yes. I'm not gonna be particularly picky about which one hits. Okay. Just as long as it hits. As long as it hits.

You know what? Both of these dice have been terrible tonight. Screw it, we ball Oh, crit Exactly. I looked at you and was like- Crit, crit, crit, crit On top of that, I'm gonna use my ancestral boon from my giant background to add a D10 of fire damage to this. Oh, neat. Ooh. Because he's on fire. Maybe. Just- Ooh, vengeance

just maybe. Uh, all right. So that was [02:06:00] a two D6 and two D10s

Ooh. All right, we'll keep those separate

So 10 slashing damage, or bludgeoning damage I guess we wanna... Yeah, bludgeoning damage, and 10 fire damage. So 20 total? 20 total. Mm. Uh, you strike one of them, and now they are looking incredibly poor. Cool. Bonus action. Mm-hmm. Ball back in my hand. Mm-hmm. Excellent. Cool. Yeah. So rad. Well, hot actually, 'cause it's on

fire, but you know. Yeah. Yeah, whatever. Okay. Anyway. All right. Also that's why- Uh, yeah. The one that's on death's door, uh- Which one? There's two. Yeah, there's two ... one of them that's [02:07:00] near me. I have advantage. The other two are- The one that I hit because I have advantage on him. Yes. From Vex. That's the one I'm...

Well, no, no, I also have advantage because of the rapier through Vex. Yeah. That's what I said. Yeah. Oh. I thought you were gonna... 'Cause me, and I'm like... Listening to the words explains the words. No. We're not playing Magic. Listening to the words explains the- We're not playing Magic. I almost said that about the book.

And then went, reading the book explains the book. 15 to hit? Uh, yes, that hits. Wonderful. Um, 'cause I have advantage I still get sneak attack, which is gonna give me, uh, 12 points of stabby damage. Mm-hmm. Um, still Vex

property, um, on that, so they, um... I have advantage- Hmm ... on that. And then-

Yeah, um [02:08:00] Uh, yeah, I'm gonna... I'm still squaring up if he ain't dead. Uh, no, they slink to the ground. Ha. Squares up to the next one. The one that's n- now very badly burned. Yeah. Yeah. Smells delicious. So that's one died. Yeah, one died. Aldrin. Uh, am I able to get into flanking with the one that she's now facing?

No, there's too many of them. There's too many of them. Okay. There... We're, we're, we're in a dance circle now. Okay. Yeah. Um, this is deeply important. On the other side of the dance circle. Um, even at, even if, um, Saajia and I- Yeah ... were to, like, get on the other side? Yeah, 'cause you're kind of in a circle with...

There, there's three of them. Okay. Yeah. Cool, cool. It's really weird. Um, I mean, not cool. Isn't that- But- Isn't that a triangle? All right. We're going to- With three people. Can I, can I reset the enemy's, like, uh, uh, uh, uh- ... beer pong rules? Like a re- rerk? Can I get a rerack? One rerack. Can I get a rerack? Thanks.

Um, okay. We're going to, in that case... I don't have anything that'll make that easier on me, [02:09:00] so... I now wanna make rerack rolls for D&D. All right. We're going to- Excuse me, I have conal attacks. Can I...? Yeah, can I just make that a thing? Can I get a pyramid? I'm gonna make, um, an attack with my scimitar on the one that's...

God, can you guys track my things? Excellent. Oh, that's an 18 plus stuff. Yes, absolutely. Amazing. Um, and that will be... I think that's a D8. Is it, um... No. Oh, no, it's a D6. Stop being- I can't do math ... that close to each other. I wanna do things to you guys. Oh, gosh, it's another one. Whoa, that sounds very ominous.

Okay. Um, that's gonna be four damage from the scimitar. Um, and then as part of the same action... Whoa, is he down? I'm assuming no.

Uh, no, not quite Okay. Then as part of the same action, I'm going to attempt to hit him with my short sword as well. Excellent. That's not as good. I don't think that's gonna hit. Um, short sword is 11. [02:10:00] That will not hit. Okay. Um, and then as a bonus action, I'm going to whistle to, um, Saja and have her go after him as well.

Absolutely. Oh, that's worse actually. But she has a better modifier than I do, um, for that. So that is going to be, um, what is it? Bonus equals your spell attack modifier. Yeah, no, she's not gonna hit. It's a 10, never mind. Oh, okay. Never mind. All righty. So just the four damage. Um, and I'm going to remain in combat.

Understood. Riven, it's your turn. Why is everyone so close to everyone? Okay, so- I'm not close to anyone ... no, you, the point- Because I wasn't far enough away to use my bow ... no, the goal... I get it. I just wanna shoo them away, and I can't do that 'cause I don't wanna hurt you guys. Cantrip won't. It's fine. Anyways, um, I'm gonna do my bonus action first 'cause it's more fun.

Um, I'm gonna do my bonus action emanation [02:11:00] on one of the creatures that is attacking Aldern. Okay. Thanks. Um, I'm gonna do a con save. A healthy looking one or unhealthy looking one? Uh, let's do a heal- unhealthy looking one. All righty. You said con? Con save. Yep

Five Nope. 3d6. Love it here. You said 3d6? Uh, damage, yeah. Yeah, they're dead. Okay, well, we'll roll- Face damage this time. Three damage- If you'd like to roll, I don't wanna take that from you. No, that's fine. No, no, roll. Dice on table. Dice on table. Oh my gosh. I wanna, I wanna, I wanna see how hard you,

you mess this thing up. Okay, that's fine. Yeah, that's true. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. 'Cause I don't actually remember exactly what this attack is either, so. All right. Yeah. Not... Five. Still very dead. Okay. Um, so she, like, sends her mist to, like, basically almost, like, suffocate them in the, um, mist.

So they, like- Huh. [02:12:00] Like, you know, like, when a fish freezes? Yeah. Mm-hmm. Like, that's what it looks like. It's just like... Brutal. Yeah, thanks. Like an ice cube helmet. Yeah, literally a scream frozen on his face. All right. Excellent. Um, that's just my bonus action, guys. Um, and then I'm going to... You guys are still so close to them, so I'm just gonna do...

I'll just do another, um, ray of frost at the less dead one, the less injured one. Okay. There are two equally healthy looking ones- The ones that are- ... that are around ... one that was attacking, yeah. Yeah, and then the one- Yes ... that's still far away.

Natural one. Nice. For a six, so obviously that's, you know... All righty. Imagine. And then she's gonna run. She's gonna move towards the one that's far away, or that's farther away. Okay. How close would you like to get? Within five feet. Oh. Yeah. Nice. So [02:13:00] that they can take damage. Yeah. Thank you. 'Cause it's at the start of their turn, right?

Yeah. Yeah. And then if they move away, you have- Yeah ... an opportunity attack if you want. Exactly. Exactly. Nice. Nice. Thanks. Thanks, guys. Thanks. We love, we love auras. Speaking of which, it's the start of their turn. Turn. Oh my God. Yeah, I'll save for that. I'm pretty sure they're next. I'll take a con save. Oh.

Nice. Getting better. Okay. Six. So three, d6 damage. Uh, five. The same roll. Nice. Yeah, it's literally the same. Five. Five. Name of the merciful- And they're still pulled- ... Mulligan and the Iron Dar clans ... or are they, do they have normal movement speed? Uh, let me double check. I don't. Yeah. I don't know how long it lasts.

Oh, they are blowed 15 a- feet away. That's what it is. Oh. They're pushed 15 away from me. Ka-chow. Nice. Yeah. Man. Is that further away from the group or- It says further away from you, so I'm heading towards them- Oh, okay ... so probably towards the water. Oh, so you would, so probably would be towards you. Ka-chow them.

It's the lightning. Okay. Attack them. The [02:14:00] other fish

Each one, the two remaining there will each attack, uh, Cathara and Aldrin I miss silvery barbs. I know. That's a good one. No. Uh, s- Pocket change ... spear on Cathara- It's like, "No" ... is 11. Yeah, exactly. No, I'm gonna start spitting on him. That tends to be my good thing. Uh, bite on Cathara is an unnatural 20. Yeah, that hits.

Spit in its mouth. Uh, two damage. Yeah, exactly. Uh, spear on Aldrin, 11 to hit. No. Uh, bite on Aldrin, 16 to hit. That will hit Four damage

The other fish The one that got pushed 15 feet ... Yes. It is looking [02:15:00] around and looking longingly towards the water. Very wise. Go home, fishy. Uh, it begins heading towards the water. A. Out of combat range of anybody? It was already out of combat range. Not for me. Okay, I'm just double checking. Uh, 'cause it was only- It was only 15 feet away from me

15 feet, so- From Riven. Sure ... 20, uh, 25 feet. So if they use, if they wanna... They can reach the shore. I'm just trying to get out of my way. They'd be 105 feet away. No, no, no, that's not right. Whoa. I was gonna say, they came out of the water 50 feet away. Yeah. And a little bit more. Oh, sure. They're, yeah, yeah, they weren't quite...

They're, like, emerging and- Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. It's fine. I'm fast. No, I guess they would be able to run. Yeah, they're kinda like in... Yeah, it just, just... The water isn't quite deep enough [02:16:00] for them to be fully- Fully submerged ... covered by it, but they're head, they're, they're approaching that.

Okay. They're running away. Got it. Cool. Yes. Cool, cool. continues. Uh, I'ma try and pelt another one of the dudes, uh, probably the one that attacked Balduran. Okay. Thanks.

Ooh, not so good, a 10 10 does not hit Uh, bonus action, bring it back Oh, nice That's it Kathara The one that was the farthest away Mm-hmm Is that the one that's running away? Mm-hmm

How far away is he currently? They would be 85 feet away. Dope. Um

So bonus action dash [02:17:00] So, 'cause I'm a rogue, so 60, adding in feline agility where I can double up my speed. Are you doing anything to disengage with the one? No, they can tr- they can try and hit me. They've been pretty good about it. Like- All right, I guess they'll try. They crit. They knew it. They can try. No.

They can try. She tries. What? They both crit? Only one of them's getting it. Oh, okay. Uh, the other one's engaged with Aldern. That's fine. Yeah. Roll your damage. Just... Oops. Nice. Ah, see? It's fine

Five Yeah I cl- easily close the distance on the one that's far away, and so that's just my bonus action. I am going to roll to attack Mm-hmm Which I do not. Well, technically, hold on. There's, I built this character in a way that I [02:18:00] could always give myself advantage no matter what. Um, because of my rakish audacity, because there's nobody else around me, um, within five feet of it, I have advantage close

to a splash bar Or no, I don't have advantage, but I can, I can still deal sneak attack if I do hit. That's what it is. Yeah. Huh. No one around that you know of. Uh, 17 to hit. Hits Big damage. That's not big damage. Leave me alone. They rolled a one on their crit. That's true. Uh, four, seven, 10 points of stabby damage.

Hmm. Um, and due to Vex, um, I have advantage on my next attack against that creature. Mm-hmm. Mm. Uh, they're pretty rough at this point. [02:19:00] That's fine. Coward, you don't run away. Gil's just flailing, so close to freedom. Uh- Skewered ... Holdred.

Give it the old dance move Um, now there's two of them. Am I, am I able to flank with Sasha on one of them? Or are they still in such a way that I cannot do that?

Um, if I like loop around Oh, if you kinda like j-- Yeah Yeah ... 'cause the other one's a little farther away. Yeah. Cool. Awesome. All right, um, I'm going to, same thing, I'm gonna again go with my scimitar.

Uh, that is

Stuff. Centaur zero attack. 17 [02:20:00] Absolutely hits. Okay, awesome. All right, so that's gonna be

Oh, it was higher than 17, but that doesn't matter. 'Cause it is, it is 19. Um, all right, so that's gonna be a d6. Okay, roll correctly. I rolled correctly. Nice. All right, so that's gonna be a nine on that one. Nine. Um, and then again with the... That's cocked. Short sword. Ooh, it's gonna be seven plus short sword offhand.

That's only gonna be a 10 with the short sword. Okay, that will miss. Um, and then Sasha has advantage as well. Okay. Right? Yep. 'Cause we're- Yep ... having her go in again. 19 plus stuff. Yes. Um, and that's going to be, I'm going to do B strike

Uh, that's gonna be four plus three is seven damage All righty[02:21:00]

And I'm just gonna snarl at it. Okay. And Saja does the same thing. Got it. Back to top, Riven. Um, so she's gonna use her bonus action for the weaker of the two that is attacking Aldren. Mm-hmm. Um, for her emanation, so a con save. Absolutely. Oh, 16. Yeah, that saves. Um, then I'm going to... Stopping so close to things.

Circle of the Sea is dope. It's really cool. This is cool. If you pair it with some other stuff, it's real nice. I'm going to cast Ray of Frost on it- Okay ... as well

Six [02:22:00] plus five is 11 11 11. 11 will not hit. Okay. And then I'm just going to, um, move back, um, on the opposite side of the one that I just attacked, try to move towards it so that way I'm in five-foot, um, range of it on its next turn. Okay. Excellent. Which is now. Which is now, I think. Which is now, yeah.

Convenient. Uh, true. So it needs a con save Uh, 12 Does- it fails Okay Ooh, big damage Uh, 12 damage There we go 12? 12 damage Uh, it falls to the ground Okay Nice Um, so it, again, it suffocates into coldness, and it's like, i- ends on its knees like this. Um- Okay ... like, "Don't touch my rat boy"[02:23:00]

'Cause I feel, I was like- Yeah, for- When Drin turns on, I'm like, "What?" Yeah, from a distance you and I- Yeah, Drin's just like... The fish in the water also turns. Everyone turns and

is like... We have a lot to address. There's so much rat here. So much to unpack. I also don't think he's rat. Well- He has rat ears and a tail. Yep. I do have rat ears and a tail. I, but also Drin gives sad wet rat man and just vibes in general, so I mean- You know what? I'm gonna let that happen, as someone who's a member of the sad wet rat man club- Oh

of D&D cl- characters. Yeah. All right. The remaining fish there, fairly desperate- The chat- ... and turning around- ... turns to Riven Uh, will lash out as much as it can. Um, it moves up to, Aldren would be the closest one, and [02:24:00] tries to stab. Um, does so successfully. That is a crit on the stab. Ooh. I was gonna say, you're not even gonna ask.

Christian's dice are hot tonight. My God. Okay. And a 12 on the bite. Oh. Cursed. Cursed. Oh. Cursed. Are you down? Okay. Um, Aldren- No, no, no, no, no, no. 12 to hit on the bite. Oh. Okay, cool. I'll do the bite. That's, that's less concerning. Okay. Okay. That's a very different number. I was like- That's really different

huh. The 12 misses. Eight. Yeah, okay. Um- On the, on the damage. Um- He kind of staggers back at the bite, um, and is bleeding. He doesn't look like he's about to fall over- Maybe I should, maybe I should- But he doesn't look great ... find God at some point.

Um, that officious How does one give their life over to a lower being? Uh, I guess it's gonna try and- It's engaged with Kathara. Yeah, it's engaged with Kathara. She stabbed it. It's like stabbed. She's like- [02:25:00] Disengage and swims 40 feet away

Long. Is it a rogue? It will swim. As it is leaving- You look like dinner ... a trail of blood in the water. There's a shark. Yep. The shark just... Quick, quick ribbon- Call a friend. Quick ribbon summon friend. Tell him it's dinner time. Uh- Call Jeffrey ... it's dinner time. Oh, wait. He ran away. That's him dis- oh, no, he disengaged.

He disengaged. You... I need to find a way to make sure that I can go up. Actually- Where's my anti-disengage button? Hold on. Drag back Sentinel? Sentinel? Mash, mash, mash. Come back here. Is it sentinel that I can still do that? Yeah. Damn, I gotta get that. There's always a feat for something. This poor injured fish must die.

I can throw some knives, it's fine. Oh, God. All right. True, it is only 40 feet away. Yeah. It is in the water. And I can swim. Long go. Long go. All right, all right, all right. Take it. Uh, I'm gonna run up to the one that's still alive that's [02:26:00] on shore. Yep. And, uh, before I do anything else, I'm just gonna, like, get in its face and be like, "You better scramble like an egg before you get folded like an omelet."

I'm gonna hit it with my basketball. Okay. Do I have advantage based on- Wait, you're melee hitting with the basketball? Yeah, yeah. Yes. You're shoving it into its face? It's like a, it's like a- I guess it's like dunking on. Yeah. Yeah. Get dunked on, nerd. Dunk on. That's, I think, 17. No, that's a 12. Uh, total 17.

Hits. I was right somewhere. That's great. Premonition, man.

Divination. The bowl is talking to me. The bowl. Put the bowl on as a hat, 17. And then I'm gonna, I'm also gonna burn this one too. Okay. Love that. Three fire damage and five bludgeoning damage. Excellent. Um, my ball starts smoking. He's heating up. Nice, [02:27:00] nice. Uh, oh, do I have any other bonus actions? I don't think so.

Okay. Nah, I'm good. Always assumes the basketball's going back. Yeah, it's, it's pretty much true. Uh, Kitara. This guy who ran away- Yes ... like a coward. Yeah. Um, would we... We would just consider him bloodied rather than on death's door, or like... Why'd I do that? Uh, I mean, closer to death's door than bloodied.

Great. Uh, she's going to bonus action dash. She's gonna run and jump into the water. You're already kind of, like, knee-deep in the water. Okay, then she's gonna swim out. Swim? Yeah. Oh, no. What's your swim speed? I have advantage. What swim speed? What do you mean? You have a- Nice. Love that for you. Yeah, and? I have to know how to swim in a weird way.

Yeah, everybody knows how to swim in a weird way. I can drive- Kether is famously good at swimming in a weird way. Yeah, K- can you actually- It's true ... auto swim? Yeah, in their own way. I actually, in [02:28:00] the, in the lore, they're great at swimming. Yes. Uh- Yeah? Okay. It's effectively half speed. Okay, if it's half speed, then I would need to bonus action dash.

O- okay. I guess. S- So do it ... I just need to close the dist- I'm... Bonus action dash. You are swimming out into the ocean. This is it, he's not that far out. 40 feet. Let him go. Okay. No, I have a vendetta. Um, and I have advantage on him still, so I mean- We're XP farming right now, guys. Leave me alone, let me XP farm You guys don't understand how rare drugs are No one will survive.

We leave no survivors. She's got bloodlust. Lupus Shh. She's got the catnip. It's fine

Um, how does a crit sound? For what? You're still 10 feet away. Nuh-uh. It, it has a swim speed- [02:29:00] Okay ... and you don't. Wait, sorry, 20-

Bonus action dash It swam out 40 feet. Oh yeah, it swam out 40 feet. Okay. Okay. Bonus action dash- Yeah, what's your normal speed? ... which makes it, normal speed's 30. Okay. Bonus action dash is 60. Okay. Halve. Halve is 30. Right. Wait, why would we go back down? Because you're swimming. 'Cause you don't have a swim speed.

Hold on. If you don't have a natural swim speed, it's counted as difficult terrain. Technically, it's one foot of extra movement for every foot moved, but it's the same thing. Okay, I'm close enough. I'll throw, I'm throwing a dagger at him. T- shredding water. Yeah. Throwing it, sure. Just throwing it down. Yeah.

Well, that was still a crit.

Why? Fight me. All right. So that's a 25. I think we've all seen that movie. Yeah, I don't know. I don't want another big fish guy come at us. That's fine. Yeah, the shark, the shark attracted by the fish. We're rolling double damage, correct? Yeah, roll the dice. Yeah, roll dice twice. Okay.[02:30:00]

Nice. Max damage That's just the first part of sneak attack.

15

13 plus six is- 19 ... 19 plus... Hold on, I haven't had my modifiers on, on, on, on. Uh, plus another three. Um, so that's what? 22. 22. For the first attack. You hit it once already. Yeah, but I have dagger and I have weapon mastery, which gives me the nick property where I can now attack a second time if it is still alive.

Sorry, how much damage? 22. 22. 22 damage. I'm throwing that da- Yeah, 30. All right. I rolled really good sneak attack damage. Uh- It's quite good ... it floats in the water- Mm ... dagger sticking out. She'll get her dagger... Uh, you know what? It's a lesson. I'll

eventually get back. It's a lesson. She, she was thinking about going to get her dagger and she said, "You know what? You know, leave it. [02:31:00] I can get another one." A nicer one. That's wasteful, Quartermaster. All right. I can buy another one. Aldrin, what would you like to do? That's so wasteful. There's one left, right?

Yes. There is now one left. Exactly. All right. Exactly. Um- And I'm in, uh, what's it called? Flanking. Yes. 'Cause I'm a cat. Okay. Yes. Um- And me Well, 'cause of everybody else that's surrounding- And me. And me. And everyone And- 'Cause I'm also there. This, like, only works once. The stars of the water, like... Oh, yeah, yeah.

Um. You have reversed the dance circle, yes. Yeah. Um, okay. Yes, we've now created our own dance circle. So I'm going to, um- My favorite thing ... my nostrils flare and my eyes, like, slit a little bit, and I'm going to use hunter's mark, um, because I want to. Okay. Um, and then hopefully I hit. That'd be great. 3, 3, plus 5, dam, dam, two does.

What's 13 plus 5? 18. 18. 18. It hits. Okay. [02:32:00] 21? That's temple spine.

Sorry. That's temple spine. Okay. All right, um, so it hurt. It's gonna be... It's getting late, guys. Uh, that's gonna be 6 damage, and then I'm going to go again. Oh, wait, 6 damage plus hunter's mark. Yeah. Great. Uh-huh. So 6 plus... 6, so that's gonna be 12 damage. And then I'm gonna go again with my short sword if he's still up.

Yes. Get him. Get him. Uh, 18 plus stuff. Yes, yes. Um, so that's going to be... It's a short sword, which m- all of these are different. Yeah. Short sword above hand. I can do this. It's fine. Roll correctly. That's a 3. Um, extra 3 damage. That's it. Nope. It is quite worse for wear. Um, and then Someone do me a favor [02:33:00] and get to this thing before its next turn.

This might not go so well for me. Don't worry. Don't worry. It's got two- I'm in a five-foot. It's gonna die. Yeah. Okay. It has to make two con saves right now. Yeah, don't worry. Like, speaking of which, Rivet, it's your turn. Okay. And here. Well, I see this creature. Finish it. So it makes a con save, uh, from ammunition Yeah.

Uh, 17. Oh, that saves it That's, that's a success Um, that's fine, I guess. Um, I was ... gonna cure wounds you, but I guess I'll take it out. Um, I'll do poi- But you could s- Mm? You could still cure wounds him and just leave it up to fate. I'll do that after, after. But you could just leave it up to fate. Nah. It'd be more entertaining.

Nah. I love fate. I'll do poison spray and-

Boo How are you gonna feel if I die? Heyya. How you gonna feel if I die? Oh my gosh. I'm kidding. You just poison spray. You said, "Kill this thing" ... and then you're like, "Well, how do you feel when I'm gonna die?" I just saved your life last round. How you gonna feel? [02:34:00] Can I use poison spray? I'm kidding. All right.

It's fine. Just let me die. I'm using poison spray. 11,

doesn't hit. Watch me die. Does it hit? Yeah, it doesn't hit. It does not hit. No. Well, it has to make a con save, and then I can do its turn. Um- Yes, next turn Yeah But it could succeed, so I mean, like- It could. Oh yeah, it does have to make a con save, so, uh, that's at a later turn. That's why I said- You're right

leave it up to fate. You're right. You're right. Okay. It's your ending turn. Should, should- It's making a con save Yeah ... should have just let it do it anyways. Yeah. Right? Oh. Oh, it made it. Oh. 16. Should've cured, cured wounds. Yeah. That sucks, man. That sucks, chat. Leave it in the chat. GG. GGs. GGs. GGs. Good game.

Rip Oldren, dude. He's dead. Yikes. Now we'll never know. Backup character. Table. I have one. Kithara's slowly, like, doing, turning around and going, "Table, heal Dren." Kyle- Yikes ... you don't make a 600-year-old man without a backup plan. Oh, that's true. Hey, yo, what? [02:35:00] Um, yeah- How, how did you get here? ... I guess, I gue- like, it doesn't really have-

more or less of a reason to attack any of you. But there's a cat in the water. So it might as well- Why? Why? No, I hope he, I hope he runs. It wouldn't hurt me. I donked on him. I hope he runs to the water. And told him to get off. Hmm. Have him run. There's a, there's a cat in the water. There's the glowing eyes.

I'm gonna go back there, man. He turns, runs to the water. There's just... It's all right. You can kill Oldren. Oh man, I wanna get some tin foil for this ship. I do. I was afraid you critted. No, I didn't. It hits though. Ooh. Who are you attacking? Is it... Does it hit me? Yeah. Go for it. Okay. Go for it. How much? Oof.

I'm dead. Uh, nine. There's death saves. I'm, I'm down. Yeah, you're fine. There's death saves. You're turtles. I'm down. Ratman just goes... Um, well what is it though? 'Cause I wanna describe it. Is it the bite or the spear? Spear. Okay. Yeah. Um, it'll... 'Cause I can [02:36:00] still do death saves, so if it'll, like, get me in the side and he, like...

And he just crumples to his knees, and then falls to the side. And Saja immediately, like, runs over and then just starts growling at this creature. Uh, 20 to bite Saja. That will hit. Oh my God, are we losing Ratman? Riven gutturally screams. Uh, three. Uh, she's up and just growling in this thing's face. Okay.

Fun fact- Yes, sir ... she, uh, can now act independently on my turn. Oh. And she's angry. Tingus? Hmm So seeing that one of my comrades went down... Oh, actually I hit twice

Sorry, I'm reading

That's morbid[02:37:00]

Chat, clap your hands No. All right Clap your hands if you believe- Uh, yeah, we're just gonna dunk on this fool again ... I do believe. I do believe. We're just gonna- I do believe ... we're just gonna- 600-year-old man tired of Netflix. 600-year man, "I do believe in Dren." Clap your hands, chat, please. Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna dunk on this fool again.

Okay I thought it was 16. No, that one's 15. Uh, 21? Hits. Hey, look, we got there. Hey. Going on.

Uh, for eight damage. Am I, is he still alive? No, that is enough- ... to dunk him into the ground That's an online friend ... right next to Odri. As I hit him, as I hit him, my ball bursts into flames. Nice. It, like, does a slow-mo caption. It's just the ball and then flames as it Uh, we will... K'Thara, you're swimming back to shore.

Excellent. [02:38:00] Uh, Aldrin? Yeah. Death save, please. Oh. Awesome. Yeah, we're still in initiative. Oh, that's right, we gotta be still in initiative. 18. 18. Pass. Uh, Tybalt was in initiative order, just wanted to watch. Uh- Yes. Love it. Yeah, I did think about the captain and Tybalt. No, I did. No, no, you do realize K'Thara, like, the entire time's like, "Tybalt, do the thing."

Uh, Tybalt walks over and does the thing. That's my man. My man. What does it look like? What? What does it look like? What does he do? Uh, he... I was gonna s- uh, not, not hands plural, uh, hand singular. That's right, 'cause he only has one. Uh, emanates with ... uh, holy magic- Mm ... and touches Aldrin, um- And where did the die go?

I rolled it, I just let it aside. Uh, oh, that's pretty good. 12 HP. [02:39:00] Awesome. Um, he takes like a ga- like a , and immediately, um, has his hands on his side to staunch the bleeding, and grabs like some moss to start packing Oh, you're stable. There you, there you go. I still am missing some hit, so for fla- for flavor reasons We would like to eat, Chris.

Instinct just padding it. Yeah. Yeah. We would like to continue eating. Let us have some flavor. It's true. It's true. But yeah, I'm gonna pound and I see he'll just instinctively- Yeah, just let him ... and he's just sitting there like breathing very heavily

Aldrin, you good? I'm so sorry. I mean, I thought, I thought I could get him, and I'm so sorry. I should've just healed you. Reaven, Reaven. He'll just put a hand on, like... Well, not her shoulder, 'cause he's on the ground, but- Yeah ... you get the idea. An ankle. On my boot. Yeah. Yeah. On, on your boot, like, "Reaven, I'm not dead.

That's what matters." [02:40:00] Tangus will just lean over. Yet. Yet. Tangus. Oh, you're fine. Reaven, I have survived much, much, much worse things than this

I'm fine And to prove his point, um, I'm just gonna burn another cure wounds into myself. All right. Kithar's now made it back to the edge. Yeah. Shaking, shaking off everything, just like, "Well, no survivors."

Yes. Good job. Yes. Is anyone hurt? I mean, anyone else hurt? No, I'm good. Do you mind tending to Saaja? I'm a little tapped out. Yeah. I'll deal with it later. She's like- Um, so she's gonna cast cure wounds on Saaja ... she's got a little bit of some bites. She's got, like, a bite mark up here. What was it, 2d8? She's definitely been bit.

As [02:41:00] all that's going on, Tinga's just over here. Ooh. Plus three. She's back at full health, baby. Nice. My kitty cat, who is way more important than me. And he'll, he'll j- he does the thing where, you know, like, you, like, have, like, the sides of the cat's face, and you're just like- Yes ... like that. And he, and he just, um, like, holds his, his forehead to her head, um, quietly, and she starts, like, slowly purring.

Before, um, he does that, the way that she cures wounds, she puts ocean water in her hand, and she's like, "Please let me touch you. Please let me touch you." And then, like, almost Simba's across Yeah. Saaja. She sort of, like, recoils at, like- Saaja ... sorta, like, recoils at first, looks at Oldren, and then, like, eases a little bit and lets you.

I got to touch the kitty. Yes. So yeah, they're just doing, like, the forehead thing. So. I wonder what they wanted. What do you mean? Obviously- To hunt ... [02:42:00] they were mad at us for the queen. I mean- Jim told us that Scarlett was able to communicate with them. It stands to reason. Oh, that's true. They would just know when she dies?

No, but they might've been her friends. Mike had asked- That's true. Well, they're also now dead, so I mean, they might have been under a spell. Mike had one of the druids talk to them. They knew where we were gonna be coming out of. Yeah. Hmm. Would make sense. Let's get off this damn island. And you do. You're able to haul the treasure back to the boat.

Hooray. Yay. Row it to the ship, board, settle in a little bit. You have a coronation to attend. A coronation day. We sure do. Goodness gracious. Maybe we leave him there and I become captain. I like that idea. That's what I'm saying. And- I don't know about all that ... Listen. So- Co-captains ... thank you all for joining- Captains
