ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Monty doesn’t speak. He doesn’t read. He doesn’t hold degrees. And yet, he understands more than I sometimes expect.
In this episode of Pawfect Labrador, Yann reflects on the quiet intelligence of dogs; the kind that doesn’t show up in words or achievements, but in awareness, presence, and connection.
From knowing the difference between “putting shoes on to leave” and “putting shoes on to go for a walk,” to adjusting his energy depending on whether the house feels calm or playful, Monty reveals a layered understanding of the world around him.
This isn’t about tricks or obedience.
It’s about emotional intelligence. Adaptation. Paying attention.
In this episode:
- Rethinking what intelligence actually means
- How dogs read tone, routine, and subtle shifts in energy
- The difference between problem-solving and presence
- Why adaptation might be the highest form of awareness
- Learning from the one who watches quietly
At its heart, this episode explores the idea that intelligence isn’t always loud or logical. Sometimes it’s simply the ability to notice, to respond gently, and to understand without needing to be understood.
Monty doesn’t overthink. He doesn’t analyse. He pays attention.
And in a world full of noise, that feels like something worth learning from.
If you’ve ever felt seen by a dog in a way that’s hard to explain, this episode might resonate more than you expect.
P.S. If Pawfect Labrador resonates, following or reviewing helps it quietly find others who need it too.
