ABOUT THIS EPISODE
What if transformation doesn’t start with trying harder, but with dying to what holds you back? We open Galatians 2:20 and walk through the crucified life—trading ego, old wounds, and control for a Spirit-led way of living that actually sets you free. This is not a call to burnout or denial; it’s an invitation to let Christ’s life move through your ordinary, daily choices.
We unpack what “I am crucified with Christ” looks like on Monday morning. You’ll hear why self-improvement stalls without surrender, how to identify the parts of you that need to go to the cross, and a simple confession that re-centers your identity: Christ lives in me. We explore the new creation reality of 2 Corinthians 5:17, naming the lies of shame, fear, and addiction and replacing them with Scripture-shaped truth. Then we get practical about renewing the mind from Romans 12:2, including a doable habit—swap one negative thought each day for a verse-grounded statement—to build resilient, faith-aligned thinking.
From there, we draw a sharp line between faith and feelings. Faith obeys when outcomes are unclear, walks forward when it hurts, and surrenders even when it costs something. You’ll get a weekly filter question—Am I choosing faith or feelings?—to anchor decisions at work, at home, and in conflict. Finally, we root everything in love: Christ loved you and gave Himself for you, not only to forgive your sins but to live in you. That love reframes surrender as freedom—freedom from the past, from emotional whiplash, and from the need to control every outcome.

00:00:00.239 --> 00:00:14.960
Welcome back, and I'm your host, Reverend Corey Young, and you're tuned in to Order My Steps, The Christian Journey, the podcast where spiritual growth meets real life and where the word of God becomes foundation for transformation, not just information.
00:00:15.199 --> 00:00:25.199
And in today's episode, this is one that cuts deep, one that challenges us, one that invites us into the life that many talk about, but very few truly walk out.
00:00:25.600 --> 00:00:28.320
And that is living the crucified life.
00:00:28.640 --> 00:00:32.880
Galatians 2 and 20 says, I am crucified with Christ.
00:00:33.119 --> 00:00:37.840
Nevertheless, I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me.
00:00:38.000 --> 00:00:45.920
And the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
00:00:46.159 --> 00:00:48.399
Let us go deep into the episode.
00:00:48.799 --> 00:00:52.640
This crucified life begins with dying to self.
00:00:52.880 --> 00:00:58.640
Luke chapter 9, verse 23 says, Deny yourself, take up your cross daily.
00:00:58.880 --> 00:01:02.560
Notice Paul didn't say I'm improved with Christ.
00:01:02.880 --> 00:01:05.599
He says that I am crucified.
00:01:05.840 --> 00:01:07.439
Why was he saying that?
00:01:07.760 --> 00:01:31.760
Because transformation doesn't start with doing better, it starts with dying to what held you, dying to things like pride, having an ego, dying to things like old habits, the old mindsets that we have, the old wounds, dying to things that need to control everything, dying mostly to the flesh that always wants its way.
00:01:31.920 --> 00:01:36.799
The crucified life means my desires don't run this anymore.
00:01:37.040 --> 00:01:39.599
It means the spirit runs it.
00:01:40.159 --> 00:01:49.120
So I had to ask God, Lord, what part of me still needs to die so that Christ can fully live through me?
00:01:49.359 --> 00:01:51.120
I had to pray over this.
00:01:51.359 --> 00:01:53.280
I had to talk to God about it.
00:01:53.439 --> 00:01:57.840
I had to develop that prayer life with God so He can reveal those things to me.
00:01:58.079 --> 00:02:03.840
For one, I had to go to the cross, go to God, get in his presence, and let it all go.
00:02:04.560 --> 00:02:09.759
I had to understand also that Christ in me is greater than the old me.
00:02:10.080 --> 00:02:17.039
2 Corinthians 5 and 17 says, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation.
00:02:17.360 --> 00:02:21.680
Paul says, Nevertheless, I live yet not I.
00:02:21.919 --> 00:02:32.879
That means the old version of you, the one chained by sin, insecurity, anger, trauma, addiction, or fear does not have the final say.
00:02:33.599 --> 00:02:35.280
Christ now lives in you.
00:02:35.439 --> 00:02:37.759
You're not living from your strength anymore.
00:02:37.919 --> 00:02:39.039
You're living from his.
00:02:39.439 --> 00:02:41.759
You're not living from your old past anymore.
00:02:41.919 --> 00:02:43.280
You're living from grace.
00:02:43.439 --> 00:02:45.759
You're not living from your mistakes anymore.
00:02:45.919 --> 00:02:47.840
You're living from mercy.
00:02:48.080 --> 00:02:53.360
Every morning, ask yourself, confess, Christ lives in me.
00:02:53.680 --> 00:02:56.240
My old self no longer controls me.
00:02:56.479 --> 00:03:00.319
Once you do that, watch how your mindset shifts.
00:03:00.639 --> 00:03:04.000
The crucified life requires a new way of thinking.
00:03:04.240 --> 00:03:05.919
Romans 12 and 2.
00:03:06.159 --> 00:03:09.759
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
00:03:10.240 --> 00:03:13.680
You cannot live a new life with an old mindset.
00:03:14.080 --> 00:03:18.319
When Christ lives in you, your thinking must come into alignment.
00:03:18.560 --> 00:03:20.879
Your thinking must come into alignment.
00:03:21.039 --> 00:03:23.120
You think differently about temptation.
00:03:23.280 --> 00:03:25.199
You think differently about identity.
00:03:25.439 --> 00:03:27.360
You think differently about purpose.
00:03:27.520 --> 00:03:29.599
You think differently about suffering.
00:03:29.759 --> 00:03:32.719
You think differently about the decision makings.
00:03:32.879 --> 00:03:35.280
You think differently about your relationships.
00:03:35.360 --> 00:03:39.439
And most of all, you think differently about trials that you have in life.
00:03:39.759 --> 00:03:43.360
The crucified life is a renewed mindset.
00:03:43.520 --> 00:03:47.680
This is why some people love God but still live defeated.
00:03:47.840 --> 00:03:49.759
Their minds never shifted.
00:03:50.000 --> 00:03:54.000
So replace one negative thought a day with a scripture-based truth.
00:03:54.159 --> 00:03:58.639
Once you start to do that, you'll feel transformation take root in your life.
00:03:58.879 --> 00:04:01.759
You live by faith, not by feelings.
00:04:02.000 --> 00:04:09.199
Galatians 2 and 20, it says, the life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God.
00:04:09.439 --> 00:04:16.560
Faith becomes the engine of your life, not emotions, not circumstances, not options, not moods.
00:04:16.800 --> 00:04:18.639
Simply put, faith.
00:04:18.879 --> 00:04:22.399
Faith says, I trust him when I don't see the outcome.
00:04:22.639 --> 00:04:25.759
It says, I obey even when it's uncomfortable.
00:04:26.000 --> 00:04:28.319
I walk forward even when it hurts.
00:04:28.560 --> 00:04:31.199
I surrender even when it costs me something.
00:04:31.439 --> 00:04:36.720
The crucified life is a faith-led life, not a feeling-led life.
00:04:36.879 --> 00:04:42.639
When facing a decision this week, ask, is this choice based on faith or feeling?
00:04:42.959 --> 00:04:46.720
I promise you, if you choose faith, you'll start seeing the outcome.
00:04:46.959 --> 00:04:50.160
The crucified life is rooted in his love.
00:04:51.040 --> 00:04:56.959
Galatians 2 and 20 says also that who loved me and gave himself for me.
00:04:57.360 --> 00:04:58.959
This is the heart of it all.
00:04:59.360 --> 00:05:01.199
You don't surrender out of fear.
00:05:01.519 --> 00:05:04.639
You surrender because you are so loved.
00:05:04.959 --> 00:05:09.759
You are loved deeply, you're loved relentlessly, you're loved sacrificially.
00:05:10.000 --> 00:05:14.240
Christ didn't just die for your sins, he died to live in you.
00:05:14.399 --> 00:05:21.120
You become a vessel of his presence, a carrier of his character, and a reflection of his glory.
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:25.759
Sit for five minutes in silence today and let this truth sink in.
00:05:26.079 --> 00:05:29.360
Jesus loves me enough to live through me.
00:05:29.680 --> 00:05:31.600
Let that love empower you.
00:05:31.839 --> 00:05:33.839
Here's some closing exhortation.
00:05:34.079 --> 00:05:37.920
The crucified life is not a burden, it's a freedom.
00:05:38.079 --> 00:05:47.360
It's freedom from the old you, freedom from the weight you've been carrying, freedom from the bondage of the past, freedom from a life controlled by emotions.
00:05:47.600 --> 00:05:51.040
When you die to self, Christ rises in you.
00:05:51.199 --> 00:06:00.480
So this week, walk boldly knowing I am crucified with Christ, and the life I now live is a spirit-filled life.
00:06:00.879 --> 00:06:04.879
Thank you for joining me today on All of My Steps, The Christian Journey.
00:06:05.040 --> 00:06:13.600
I pray that this episode has strengthened your walk and it renews your mind and reminds you that Christ lives in you with power.
00:06:13.839 --> 00:06:17.439
If this blesses you, share it with someone who needs encouragement.
00:06:17.519 --> 00:06:25.120
And remember, your steps matter, your growth matter, your surrenders, your surrender matter, and God is ordering all of it.
00:06:25.199 --> 00:06:26.560
This is Reverend Corey Young.
00:06:26.720 --> 00:06:31.040
Stay faithful, stay focused, and I'll see you at the next episode.
