Pip: Not his fault, just the kid's fault.
matt: Yeah, it's the kid. Yeah. Beckham, get it together, kid. You gotta start taking care of yourself. But
Pip: And we are O and one in the Beckham era.
matt: She's
Pip: Hmm.
matt: Devin Devin said the Yankees got swept since this kid was born last night.
Pip: This kid's never seen a win in any of his teams.
matt: But you can cut that out, bro.
Pip: Hehehehe
matt: But yeah, a little bit of a hiatus. What's the last game we spoke about? Post Lines?
Pip: last thing that went live was the preview of the lions with just me and Rizzy. Yep.
matt: Lines preview. Right.
Pip: Yeah.
matt: Right. So yeah, we missed a lot, but we're not gonna rehash. But we're just gonna look forward. When we're gonna look forward because last week was a abomination and what I call the nail in the coffin of the Glenn and Muji era. As much as some people don't want to admit that or, you know, look in the mirror and see that it's truly the end and this guy doesn't have it, it's true. so we're going to preview the Browns game. Pip, what what are your thoughts here?
Pip: I mean, going into the season, I said if we don't steal one of the games from the NFC North, I'm good. I wasn't gonna openly root for losses week one, but I'm openly rooting for us to lose every game going forward. Talk about the Browns a little bit. Just, you know, a new head coach comes in and has a team full of rejects and has them humming throughout four weeks, sitting at three and one. Something that we seem like we cannot do. On paper. They're not better than us. On paper, we should win this game. And that just means that we're gonna lose in heartbreaking fashion.
matt: Vegas has the Jets at two point home favorites. Which I was surprised about. But this is I think it's I think it's from the sense that this is really the the sinker swim game. I said it before the Badlands guys said it, I said it in our group chat. This is this next quarter of the season is gonna be the most telling rather than the first or the second or what does that sound?
Pip: That was my microphone moving. That was my fault.
matt: But yeah, I was like the way you bounce back in this game is gonna say a lot. But I said that in the moment. I was gonna s I was saying, you know, this is this is gonna be really telling, but truth be told, even if they bounce back and win this game, I'm still totally out. Because
Pip: Yeah, I'm good.
matt: the Bears game, there's no world where any coach that has any sense or I'm not just gonna say coach, any coaching staff as a whole that has a sense or grip of reality, lets that happen, especially in their second year. So I'm good. I I want a clean slate, especially head coach GM, everyone gone. But we're not gonna do that. for the Browns game though, I don't know. I I do I do think they're gonna hang around and and play a close game. But as much as everyone is saying right now that Deshaun Watson is due for, you know, a turnover prone game. So's Gino. Gino hasn't thrown a pick yet. Gino had a stinker last week, but I don't know if he's building on that without Brees, without A. D. Mitchell again, without Mason Taylor again, without Dylan Parham again, against the defense that's playing really good. I don't I don't see where the the bounce back game happens here.
Pip: Not for Juno and not for our defensive line either. They revamped that entire offensive line there in Cleveland. They're young and they look good. Like they're not this insane force, they're not this brick wall, but they look good and they're playing together. I I
matt: Mm-hmm.
Pip: just I don't see us winning this game in any way. And it's sad to say against the Browns. They are three and one, but it's not like they're this crazy team. I mean, Denzel Boston can't let get open down the seam. Can't let Little Dink go to Casey, and you can't let Quinchan get going. And all three of those things could easily happen.
matt: That I was gonna say that's the that's the biggest factor because they mentioned it on the Thursday night broadcast, but you saw that Quinshaan kinda got his legs back for the first time this season and he looked really good. And
Pip: Mm-hmm. Yep.
matt: especially a really good I'm not gonna say he's a really good head coach yet, you know, he's only coached four games, but Todd Munkin's a good coach. He's been around the game for a long time. He's
Pip: Mm-hmm.
matt: coached some really good offenses at the NFL level, at the collegiate level, and Something I was saying to you guys in the group chat was once when you see the Jets who are on both sides of the ball clearly are outsmarted and out game plan every week, they also lack the ability to make adjustments. So when these smart coaches when they get the film on you and it's week after week a lot of the same thing, and you see where the other good coaches exploit you and you don't make adjustments. Guess what Todd Munkins gonna do? He's gonna give the ball to Quinshawn Junkins twenty-five times. He's probably gonna score two touchdowns and they're gonna control the game. That's what I totally expect because until proven otherwise, I see nothing from this front seven besides Demario Davis. And in the passing game, they're gonna do the same thing. How many passes did Bajon throw over the middle where there was not a linebacker in sight? And where there was no pressure. So what do you think they're gonna do? Casey Concepcion's gonna work the middle of the field. Jamie and Sheridwood's gonna be thirty yards away from him somewhere. And they're gonna get exploited. It's gonna be the same type of game to me.
Pip: On top of that, how many times did we get saved just from Dane Belton or Demario Davis actually stopping the run in the second level? Like how many of those explosive plays did we just miss out on seeing from Kyle Manangay last Sunday? It's just one of those things where you can't have your safety be your best run stopper. It's just
matt: Mm-hmm.
Pip: never gonna work out and it's never gonna be good. I think we just need to
matt: And credit to the
Pip: call a spade a spade. And just say the season's over, it's cooked, it's absolutely wrapped. This guy behind me right now, absolute moron. If he wants to say calling the defense is a superpower and can't make a single adjustment to see what the other team's doing. I mean he got out coached by Ben Johnson. Like that has to sting a little bit. Like to have
matt: yeah.
Pip: the guy that you were in Detroit with just absolutely dismantle you. And the score is one thing, but what actually happened in the game's another. They could have ran up that score so much more. He need he should be embarrassed and he's going in with this like flush it mentality throughout the week. Like how do you just flush that? Like why is that not something
matt: You don't.
Pip: that angers you that you actually look at and actually build on? I just don't like his mentality. I think he's an absolute loser. I think Frank Reich's an absolute loser, and I can't wait for the season to end.
matt: Yep. But this is a good way to transition because in other years when we say I can't wait for the season to end, we also have the feeling that we're very far away in terms of the roster. But I don't feel that way. I think coaching's
Pip: Mm-hmm. Yeah.
matt: really holding them back and you see a lot of the the veterans stepping up. You also see, you know, to to be fair to this rookie class, it has been four games. I'm not gonna do the Bailey over Reese thing because we know how we felt about Reese going through the draft and how bad we wanted him. It's been four games, I'm not gonna do that. And the other guys, it's Omar Cooper's played two snaps and was awesome on both of them. Pons played what, five total snaps so far. So I'm not gonna do that. So
Pip: And then Sadiq, they just won't give him the ball, but that's a whole different conversation.
matt: Yeah, but when and when these but when these guys have made plays, they've made plays. They they're they look to be contributors and building blocks. So going off that, since we're the two pessimists, since we're the two draft guys, since we're the two people looking forward to twenty twenty seven and beyond and a new coaching staff and a new regime, we're gonna switch it up and we're gonna do a first round mock draft because the season is because the season's over.
Pip: Welcome to Mock Draft Friday.
matt: Declared dead on what was Sunday, whatever date that was. The season was declared dead, so we're gonna do a mock drive. Yep. We got
Pip: October fourth. We made it into October though. That's a win.
matt: it to October. Mm-hmm.
Pip: Competitive football into October. That's that's progress.
matt: We're the bad guys though. We're the bad guys.
Pip: Just another thing I want to bring up to everyone listening. there's this guy that
matt: All our fans.
Pip: you guys see pop up time to time. this guy told us that penalties week one just because we won is looking for perfection. And now we're sitting here going into week five. Yeah, clock management, that wasn't an issue either. Yeah.
matt: End clock management at the end of the half. 'Cause that I was gonna say, 'cause that didn't rear its ugly head three different times.
Pip: Well, it he did say because it rained it was okay to just, you know, not run plays. So I think game plan going into Sunday, just to talk about it all together. Game plan going to the Browns game, we should take a knee every play. It is gonna rain. We shouldn't expect much, so offensives can't work in the rain. Not allowed to push the ball
matt: No, it's impossible.
Pip: down the field. So we'll just knee it out. We'll score zero points, zero yards. And then we'll just, you know, go into next year with this mock draft that we have for ya.
matt: Especially when you have no timeouts, you're not allowed to throw the ball.
Pip: No, not allowed. 'Cause you can't get it to the outside. That's it's impossible. I've never seen a team do it.
matt: I don't know what it does work. Let's go. Bet all right, so we have the
Pip: It does work. We're here. We're back. We're back.
matt: mock draft simulator from the NFL stock exchange. how do I start this thing? Alright, here we go. So in this draft, the Jets are picking sixth with their own pick, 11th with the Colts pick, and 12th with Dallas's pick. So no. The whole yeah, the whole draft is fucked. Everything's fucked.
Pip: Did Drew just go?
matt: Well, Jordan Seaton went first. That's kr insane.
Pip: I mean we just take Archer.
matt: So in this situation, we take Jaden Baugh, running back from Florida, but let's actually look.
Pip: If we wanna actually look, we talked about this right before the pod. The guy that you wanna take is Dylan Stewart.
matt: But it's it's October. He's gonna play his first game after punching multiple Alabama players and telling his coaches he's not coming off the field. Raw talent wise, this guy's probably the twitchiest edge I've ever watched in my entire life. And this is just is just the straight up raw skill that will net you a future all pro. But I don't know if I do that in October. I'd have to see where this goes with him. So right now I'm probably just taking the shot on Arch, like you said, if you agree.
Pip: That's fine. I I'm I'm all for getting the quarterback. We're gonna fix the entire problems that we have right here, right now.
matt: So Arch Manning, sixth overall. Although Arch has his problems, I think Arch needs to sit. Arch needs to clean up his stupid ass throwing motion. It drives me out of my mind. Why does he throw sidearm? You're a Manning. Fix your goddamn mechanics, Arch. Holy shit. But you have all the tools and everything. Play
Pip: He'll be fine.
matt: play quarterback. But but I think he can play quarterback. That's the thing. Because I I'm not yeah.
Pip: Exactly. And you you've seen the good throws. You you just can't string them together consistently. And that's what sitting a year
matt: But you've seen the
Pip: does.
matt: the the processing too is I I think I think it could be there too. It's not like we're just saying like let's take the trade c guy. But all right, so Dylan Stewart went after that and then Charlie Becker, Will Eccles, Jaden Baugh. So here at eleven, what are we thinking?
Pip: I'm a big Kelly Jones or Ashton Hampton guy.
matt: Kelly Jones is sick.
Pip: I think both those guys are amazing and especially watching Ashton against Malachi Tony last week. I thought he was so impressive, but I also really love Kelly Jones.
matt: So in this mock are we I was gonna say if we're we called the season over, we called for a new regime. So we're not drafting based off guys that this coaching staff would like. So I was gonna say I think Kelly Jones would fit the mold, but I don't know if he does if they're not picking him. Because Kip
Pip: I I could easily see us trading Stevens at the trade deadline for like a fourth.
matt: Yes, Ste I mean, Stevens is also a cut candidate too. I believe his contract would be up the following year and they wouldn't have to eat too much dead money, even though he's playing fine. But
Pip: He's playing great right now. It's nothing against him. I think he's playing great right now. I think we easily trade him at the deadline.
matt: Or K J Bolden or Ellis Robinson.
Pip: See like I haven't seen enough Ellis Robinson. I think KJ Bolden's great, but I don't think we take a safety this high. I think he's disgusting in a unicorn, but I don't think we take a safety this high.
matt: May I interest you?
Pip: I mean we have back to back. I was gonna get into that with the next pick.
matt: In Chris Cole. Okay, fine. So you you could take this pick. Whichever guy. Alright,
Pip: give me Kelly Jones.
matt: I like that too. Six foot four, two hundred five pound corner from Mississippi State. He's got the sauce gardener build. I'm sure that won't bite us back in the ass.
Pip: Yeah.
matt: Look at his face. Ooh, he looks insane. I love it.
Pip: Looks like he got punched on the right side.
matt: Yeah. I love this. Alright. So we got our C B one to go along with Zarya Thomas and AZ's been a stud. And that's two that's two lengthy corners on the boundary and you're gonna have D'Angelo Ponce playing the slot most of the time or the nickel, whatever you wanna do. But with our final pick of the evening.
Pip: There's two correct picks and one hilarious fun pick I wanna talk about. The two correct picks would be either
matt: I know I know what you're gonna say for the stupid pig.
Pip: Chris Cole or Greg Johnson would be the smart picks.
matt: Are you gonna say trade is green?
Pip: I'm gonna say Trey Des Green would be so stupidly fun.
matt: Can't and trade Mason Taylor.
Pip: Yeah. Or just cut ruckert.
matt: I mean, this would be an embarrassment of riches. This would be hilarious. If you really wanna run if
Pip: It would be incredible.
matt: you wanna if you wanna run thirteen personnel, that's how you run thirteen personnel. But I would
Pip: Six seven two hundred and forty pound beast. He did get hurt during the old miss game, I believe.
matt: Dude, can you imagine him lined up next to Membu and then shading off of him as Kenyon Sadiq?
Pip: It'd be incredible. No.
matt: But nah, nah, that's not happening. I I do like what you said. I like the Greg Johnson idea. Well
Pip: Mm-hmm.
matt: Greg is wait, Greg Johnson's not the one that could play center rays. That's that's the kid from
Pip: I think he is the one that plays center.
matt: I think that's the one from Indiana.
Pip: I don't think you're right.
matt: Think it's Carter Smith. Yeah, he's he's listed as a center. He could play both
Pip: you're right.
matt: guard and center.
Pip: Where is he?
matt: He's ranked twenty eighth on the big board.
Pip: Alright, trade up for first.
matt: You mean trade back?
Pip: no, I mean trade up. But here right now I think the smartest thing you could do is helping the defense and getting Sherwood out of here. You put Chris Cole next to DiMario
matt: Yes.
Pip: and I think it looks really good.
matt: This is I I compare Chris Cole to Devin Lloyd with another jet pack on. Six three, two thirty five, I'm s so excited to see what he runs. But him that's a guy like almost like we were saying with Arvell Reese last year, that can be your spy, he can play on the line of scrimmage, he can play off the line of scrimmage, he could pretty much do everything and run boundary to boundary without blinking an eye. I love Chris Cole. And and that's like the we also don't need to fill like these what's it called? What's the word I'm looking for?
Pip: Like these needs that we have.
matt: No, what's like the what do you call the the positions? Holy shit. Like not the value positions, but like a quarterback, an edge, an offensive lineman. Holy shit.
Pip: I know what you mean. Just like I can't think of the word either, but like them being worth
matt: Dude, this is bad.
Pip: higher than every other position. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
matt: Premium, premium, premium, premium, premium positions. I I was gonna say, 'cause we've done that enough and we've had enough draft capital to do that, and it's
Pip: Mm.
matt: kinda stuck. I would have liked to go on the defensive line somewhere, but it didn't really break that way. I would have liked like a big body.
Pip: Buy the defensive line, just buy them.
matt: Yeah, you can. They've kind of been doing that, but
Pip: The outside's so much harder to buy.
matt: especially if you're paying if you're paying a linebacker on in free agency, you're paying like big money. So
Pip: I know.
matt: I love the Chris Cole pick here. I think that's fun. It's something that we don't really ever do often, something fun like that, kinda off the wall, but that's a premium talent at the
Pip: I feel like with Chris Cole,
matt: second level.
Pip: the one thing that I love about him is like he's like patient. It's not just like he's Well yeah, Arch Arch screwed that, but it's fine.
matt: That you just almost spit my drink out.
Pip: The thing about Chris Cole is I feel like his closing speed is just so much better. It's like it
matt: it's insane. It is.
Pip: it's not him being able to run sideline to sideline, it's that he's able to be patient and actually see where the play is developing and then close in on it right away. And who knows how that's gonna translate. Obviously into the NFL, we don't know. But like that's just one thing early
matt: I think that translates.
Pip: that like I love seeing.
matt: Yeah. Absolutely. Well there is there is your future. That's the
Pip: Yep.
matt: mock draft that and that's the actual result and the exact pick positions that will be in late April. So we told you first and nothing's gonna change from here on out. This is solidified.
Pip: Mm-hmm. Zero thing. The only thing that's not gonna change is the season's still dead. It'll always be dead no matter how many
matt: Mm-hmm. Where yeah.
Pip: games you win. The season's still dead. So get the mock drafts out now. Have some fun with it. Remember the names and go from there. Because the season's
matt: Yep.
Pip: over, it's dead, and there's no way it comes back.
matt: Yep. I don't even want it to come back 'cause I don't want this coaching staff or this front office to come back.
Pip: Worst thing we could do is rattle off like six wins. Win six or seven games this year it'd be the worst possible thing ever. Yeah, let's
matt: But we're not real fans, so
Pip: just stay shit and figure it out after.
matt: Yep.
Pip: On that note.
matt: On that note, thank you to all of our fans and everyone that watched us do this mock draft. I'm sure that's all the that's I'm sure that's the content that everyone's dying for in October when doing a
Pip: I know Rizzy asked for it.
matt: when doing a game preview. So that is exactly why we did it, because we know that everyone is of the belief that the season's over, just like us. So
Pip: Yep. And since everybody knows the season's over, I think we're going to try and start doing this weekly. Just because the season
matt: I'm down.
Pip: is completely dead. We'll we're not we're gonna try and get new people in so we talk about new people. Maybe we'll bring in some film breakdown too and we'll go from there.
matt: Yeah, we do have the NFL Pro and what's it called? I'm not gonna give the source away of the college football all twenty two. I don't know how that works, so I'm gonna s steer away from the
Pip: Yeah, we'll we'll keep it here, but we'll we'll we'll show some clips, we'll show some video, we'll show why we like some guys and we'll go from there. 'Cause the season's dead and it's over. Yeah, completely dead.
matt: Yep. And it's there's no coming back from it. Unless we win unless we win this week and then win three in a row from there, then it's back.
Pip: Yeah, 'cause then then we're on a four game win streak, and then after the four game win streak, anything could happen, so
matt: Mm-hmm.
Pip: that that is the only thing that might possibly almost maybe bring the season back, but it won't. 'Cause the it's dead.
matt: Right. Unless that happens.
Pip: Yeah, unless unless that four game win streak happens, that might lead into another four game win streak after the bye and Kenneth Walker's
matt: Right.
Pip: not gonna go off against us after the bye.
matt: I'm so excited to bet on him that game.
Pip: There's so many games that I can't wait to bet on the running backs.
matt: I might I might throw a three I might throw a three hundred plus prop for him.
Pip: Yeah, I mean it's gonna be two hundred yards and two touchdowns. It's a lock. But anyway, anyway,
matt: It's gonna be awesome.
Pip: let's not get ahead of ourselves because we might win
matt: Yeah.
Pip: four in a row.
matt: Right, and I can't wait for Devin to cut this whole part out. I'm gonna laugh so hard when it's not in it or when this is just straight up is not published, but at least it's in the archives.
Pip: Yeah. Or or there's just a clip of us saying that the season is absolutely cooked and dead and there's no way,
matt: And it's over.
Pip: no way that it ever comes back.
matt: But it might if we win this game and then
Pip: Yep.
matt: win for three after that.
Pip: You know, some people are really tired of being embarrassed of this team. And they're embarrassed of themselves of how much they care. And they're exhausted and tired of seeing themselves in that light. But also think that we're gonna rip off four in a row. So just think about it. You could always be that guy. But the season's dead. Unless it's back.
matt: May the Glenesance may the Glenacons live on.
Pip: Alright, we gotta cut this.
matt: Alright, we will we'll wrap this shit up. We will see everybody Sunday for the postgame reaction to Jets Browns in a Hurricane Reminance MetLife Stadium. I cannot wait to laugh at how funny that scene is.
Pip: I cannot wait to film Sunday and do another mock draft. All right. We will see you guys then. Bye.
matt: Yeah, I'm so down. Alright. Adios.
