Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Now Streaming with Jordan. This may shock you. I admire your country very much. Your democracy, your culture and your films and your food. I have never had McDonald's, but I suspect I would love it. Is that right? Produced by Apple TV, the movie is called Mayday, that in the old days you'd expect to see on the big screen. This one went right to streaming, and it's quite entertaining. A smart action film, helped by the casting of the likable Ryan Reynolds, and a scene-stealing performance by the great Shakespearean actor Kenneth Branagh, playing an ex-KGB agent who rescues Ryan Reynolds, a Navy pilot shot down over Russia during the height of the Cold War. The action sequences really work well, and when I found out that Kenneth Branagh's doing most of his own stunts, I was even more impressed. Ultimately, the message of the film is that despite the politics, we as people, at least back then, are not that different. A buddy picture with not a lot of heavy mental lifting needed on your part. Just enjoy the action and repartee between the two characters. Mayday on Apple, and that's now streaming with Jordan WBZ, Boston's news radio.
