BONUS: A DCOM Double Feature (with "Disney High" author Ashley Spencer)

Grab your lucky gold coins and strap on your helmets, because we’re unlocking the Disney Channel vault! We’ve got a 2001 Disney Channel Original Movie — DCOM if you’re nasty — double feature on deck. Pop-culture journalist Ashley Spencer, author of DISNEY HIGH: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE RISE AND FALL OF DISNEY CHANNEL’S TWEEN EMPIRE, joins us for the fun.

First, we break down THE LUCK OF THE IRISH, where Ryan Merriman plays a basketball star who discovers his family's deep, dark secret: they're leprechauns. Then, we rev our engines for MOTOCROSSED, a surprisingly great adaptation of Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT that sees Alana Austin masquerading as her twin brother to hit the track.

Do these movies matter in 2026? What about Disney Channel at large? It’s OK if you wanna practice your wand-waving while we try to answer.
