Speaker 1: Good morning, sweet world, and welcome to the No Dunks NBA podcast. It is Monday, October 12th, 2026. I'm J.E. Skeets here on the Classic Factory, and alongside me, as always, Tass Millis.
00:00:17
Speaker 2: Happy 40th birthday, Shannon. This one's for you.
00:00:20
Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Shannon. Next to him, it's my top shot hot boy, Trey Kirby. Ayo. Ayo. And over yonder, making the magic happen, super producer, J.D.
00:00:28
Speaker 3: Hello. There he is.
00:00:30
Speaker 1: Here we are. Happy birthday to Shannon. Diehard No Dunks fan.
00:00:34
Speaker 4: Long time.
00:00:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, like doing like 12, 13-hour drives to live shows, if I remember correctly.
00:00:39
Speaker 4: Tattoo on the leg.
00:00:40
Speaker 1: Oh, my God, yeah.
00:00:41
Speaker 2: Tattoo on the leg. The starter's tattoo.
00:00:43
Speaker 1: Wait, multiple tattoos, no? Wasn't there a starter's tattoo and a Lee Ellis tattoo?
00:00:48
Speaker 2: Oh. Yeah.
00:00:49
Speaker 1: Am I crazy?
00:00:49
Speaker 2: No, that sounds right. They both exist.
00:00:52
Speaker 1: Are they on the same body?
00:00:53
Speaker 2: That's a good question.
00:00:55
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:00:55
Speaker 2: That is my question as well.
00:00:57
Speaker 1: Well, happy birthday to Shannon. Also, happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian fans out there. Save some turkey for your boys down south. And speaking of holidays, this is really funny. I got a fun email this morning, or our NoDunks account did. Let me read it to you. Hey, NoDunks folks, I'm the new editor of the Hamakashlema print catalog, and I'd like to continue the annual tradition of getting roasted on the show. Where can I send the new print edition to make sure you get it? We love to see it.
00:01:27
Speaker 2: Excellent. It still exists. It's backwards. It still exists.
00:01:31
Speaker 1: 140 plus years.
00:01:32
Speaker 4: And we're playing that clip on our 24-7 YouTube classic station.
00:01:37
Speaker 2: Oh, nice.
00:01:37
Speaker 4: People like it.
00:01:39
Speaker 1: So I guess, yeah, I guess it still exists. We got a new editor.
00:01:43
Speaker 2: I thought you were talking about it.
00:01:44
Speaker 1: Some new items, hopefully. And we will look forward to getting that. And, you know, it's an annual tradition here around the holidays. Me buying gifts from this catalog for you guys. And just roasting them and making fun of them and guessing how much they cost. That's the fun part.
00:01:59
Speaker 2: Can't wait to see what's new.
00:02:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
00:02:02
Speaker 2: All right.
00:02:02
Speaker 1: We'll continue our season preview shows here today. If you missed it, last week we had some chunky boys. We did the Eastern Conference over-unders. We did the Western Conference over-unders. These are on Wednesday and Friday. They're on YouTube. They're in your podcast feed. They're 90 minutes plus, us going through every team. giving our leans and then our locks at the end. So having a lot of fun, getting a lot of, you know, people agreeing, disagreeing, everybody. Nobody's wrong right now. That's the beauty. You know, we all believe we're 30 for 30 with our potential over-under locks. And everybody else, again, either agrees, disagrees. So those are up. Go enjoy those. But today's season preview, we're drafting potential first-time All-Stars. Something we've done for a couple of years now. So we'll get into that a little bit later, but we had some news. Let's get some news in here. Over the weekend, the Golden State Warriors and starting guard Brandon Pojepski have agreed to, or did agree, excuse me, to a five-year $ 110 million contract extension. The fully guaranteed deal includes a mutual option in the final season and a trade kicker. Mutual options are the new rave in the NBA.
00:03:11
Speaker 2: Very popular right now.
00:03:12
Speaker 1: Yes, they are.
00:03:13
Speaker 4: We'll get into it later. I don't want to start with that. But I found out some things.
00:03:17
Speaker 1: About the mutual option?
00:03:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll get to it later. Okay.
00:03:20
Speaker 1: Well, what do you think about Pojemski? Five years, $ 110 million here.
00:03:23
Speaker 2: With the Warriors.
00:03:24
Speaker 4: Brandon Pojemski is getting paid like a fourth or fifth type of player. He's getting Josh Hart type of money. And if you pan it out like that, if you look at it like that, where he's a fourth or fifth player on a championship roster, it starts to look totally fine. It just has to get in the right order with his number one, two, three option. Then I think it's fine. I think he's a really, really, really crafty guy who I've always been excited with when he was coming as a rookie, hitting with those lefty hooks. Now he's up and down. He's been up and down this preseason. And so the Warriors have faith in him, but I don't see it as a high salary guy, even five years in. I just don't think it's going to be an overpay. And so I think it looks fine. And I think overall it will be fine. I think he's an incredible defensive player. But you kind of need a couple more guys performing at the two and three spot of your pecking order for him to look extremely good. I think it's just kind of fine right now. But either way, I don't think it's an overpay.
00:04:23
Speaker 3: Right.
00:04:24
Speaker 1: He's going to make $ 5. 6 million this season, final year of his rookie deal. And that'll jump to about $ 9.
00:04:30
Speaker 5: Wow frog you later buddy that's all right yeah his contract is gonna go up that's how it goes yeah he's the best young player they got he's only gonna be 24 during this season this deal pays him to 10 to 12 percent of the salary cap going forward five years is kind of long i don't know if i'm crazy about that but after they tried the two timelines approach and had it basically fall apart, you got to sign pods back.
00:04:58
Speaker 2: He's a good player. He's not necessarily like continue the dynasty, good level player, but a Jack of all trades type. Who's pretty good at all of the little things as well. They basically paid him off of the second half of last season. He averaged 12 points per game before the all-star game. After that 18 points per game, better usage, better efficiency. They do see him as a pair of, to Steph in the backcourt. I'm with you, Tess. I would like a little more from Pajemski. I would like him to be Klay Thompson, but guess what? Not everybody can be Klay Thompson. This is a good deal for Pods. This is a good deal for the Warriors. If he plays at the level he played after the All-Star break next season, this is an awesome deal for everybody involved. But if he's the 12 points per game guy, he's going to be a little bit lacking.
00:05:42
Speaker 1: He was one of only 18 NBA players. I don't know what's going on in my voice right now.
00:05:48
Speaker 4: Your eyes are watering too.
00:05:50
Speaker 1: I'm actually, I'm like, this is the most pain I've ever been in. Not because of my voice. I'm going to try and keep talking. I have like crazy back issues right now. I got crushed in the head accidentally basketball. And now I can't talk. And I'm really choked up over this deal.
00:06:06
Speaker 2: Yeah, man. He finally made.
00:06:11
Speaker 3: It.
00:06:11
Speaker 2: Pod's an emotional guy, man. I know he got in a haircut. You weren't crazy about it, but he got paid. I was just dying.
00:06:21
Speaker 4: You got a pod in your throat right now.
00:06:23
Speaker 2: What killed Skeets? Well, Pod's got a five-year, $ 110 million extension. It was all over.
00:06:30
Speaker 1: What I was going to say is this is an old team And at least this guy is a little bit of youth still. Durable player at that. He played all 82 games last year.
00:06:39
Speaker 2: He did.
00:06:40
Speaker 1: I think you need that on an old-ass roster.
00:06:43
Speaker 4: Yeah, and as you said.
00:06:44
Speaker 1: Might have to leave the Classic Factory for a second here, but continue.
00:06:48
Speaker 4: And Trey, as you said, their best young player, which is definitely true through his first three years. I wonder if they think, after seeing what Jax Lindenberg can provide in his first preseason and even... As an older rookie, that Yax Lindenberg can surpass Brandon Pajemski. It's possible. It's definitely possible. But you're paying pods on what he's done in the past. He's just a great guy. I think you keep him around. And I don't mind his haircut. And I like his craftiness. I think he'll always be a good player. Someone said that when he was a baseball pitcher, he walked three guys in a row and then had a 3-2 pitch. on the guy who was at the plate with the bases loaded on purpose. Cause he liked that challenge. Then he struck out all three guys. Cause that's, that's how he rolls.
00:07:38
Speaker 1: The story is he purposely loaded the bases with walks, then got the count to three, two, then decided to strike out the guy. And then the other guy's coming up.
00:07:47
Speaker 2: All three.
00:07:48
Speaker 1: Correct. And that's stupid.
00:07:51
Speaker 2: I'm concerned about this guy. He likes a challenge in life. And this is a challenge. Now, I heard he asked his landlord to raise his rent because he wanted to grind that much harder. I mean, it's a little different.
00:08:06
Speaker 4: But yeah, after this was on one of our videos from years ago when I was excited in his rookie year that he was throwing up his lefty hooks as a guard, as a little 6'4 guard.
00:08:19
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:08:20
Speaker 4: Somebody threw that out there. Apparently that was a fact. And that's good. I mean, you could be making that up, I suppose. I don't remember your username at this point. But I do like his grind level. If he was doing that for his rent or his mortgage, that's stupid. But as far as baseball goes, a lefty pitcher. That's pretty cool.
00:08:42
Speaker 1: We think it's a fair deal. Like we said, they're going to hope he grows into even a better player. And he probably will. You want to get into this mutual option?
00:08:48
Speaker 4: Well, I just didn't know as far as mutual options go.
00:08:53
Speaker 2: Let it out, buddy. Continue.
00:08:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, mutual options has been a thing this summer for the first time in a very long time. You know, in the last time there were mutual options before this past summer where now there's five. Isaiah Hartenstein, Keon Ellis, Mo Wagner, Pella Larson, and Brandon Pajemski.
00:09:13
Speaker 2: Five.
00:09:14
Speaker 4: For the first time in 25 years.
00:09:17
Speaker 1: So what's going on?
00:09:18
Speaker 4: And the one who it was was Jerome Williams, JYD of the Toronto Raptors in 2001 for some weird reason.
00:09:25
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:09:26
Speaker 4: Forget that fact. As far as the mutual option goes, neither side can trigger the opt-out on their own. So neither side can just say, no, I don't want this and walk away.
00:09:36
Speaker 2: It's guaranteed money, essentially.
00:09:38
Speaker 1: It allows either side to opt-in, but not opt-out.
00:09:40
Speaker 4: Yeah, not opt-out, which is weird. Didn't you think that, let's say, Pajupski or the Warriors don't like, Pajupski's like, I'm out of here. I can get out. But you need both players. It's basically guaranteed money.
00:09:50
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:09:50
Speaker 4: The whole idea is it's there so you can both opt out.
00:09:55
Speaker 2: No, I'm good.
00:09:56
Speaker 4: You can both opt out and renegotiate an extension. or in a rarely rare case, opt out and allow a free agency. But it's basically guaranteed money. And that's what was surprising to me. I just thought one could opt in and take it and either had that option, but it's just, it's guaranteed money essentially. So I was surprised by that.
00:10:18
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:10:19
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:10:19
Speaker 4: Just so we know. It's geeky stuff.
00:10:22
Speaker 1: Other extensions. The Stein line reported last night that an extension for Magic swingman Anthony Black is unlikely at this current juncture. And two other players, though, that they reported on, Charlotte's Brandon Miller and OKC's Cason Wallace. Sounds like they might get done here in the coming week. Miller is still projected... by various league observers to ultimately come to terms with the Hornets on an extension that could exceed Amin Thompson's new five-year $ 200 million deal with the Rockets. Yeah. And then sources say talks between Cason Wallace's camp and the Thunder have begun in the $ 25 million range, which I guess was inspired by like recent signees like Dyson Daniels and Christian Brown. So Wallace and his team are probably looking at those two guys as comps. So they might come to an agreement here soon. Any reaction to that? You sort of reacted to Brandon Miller.
00:11:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, a little surprising.
00:11:20
Speaker 4: I wonder who's going to be higher in our first-time All-Star draft, Brandon Miller or Amin.
00:11:28
Speaker 1: They'll probably both be selected.
00:11:30
Speaker 4: Sometime in their career.
00:11:31
Speaker 1: Amin Thompson was selected last year's first-time All-Star draft by one of us. I believe Trey Kirby, I believe. Yeah, any thoughts on Miller here or any other extension talk?
00:11:42
Speaker 2: Brandon Miller is going to get paid, and he deserves to get paid. They basically traded Lomelo so that they would be able to pay Brandon Miller going forward. They would be able to pay Conn Knipple when he becomes extension eligible as well. Spoiler alert, I have Miller way higher than Amin Thompson on my draft board going forward, and I think he's got a good chance to be an all-star player. So they're turning the keys over to those two guys and Miller. So it makes sense to pay him before going into the season.
00:12:09
Speaker 1: Apologies to the podcast listener especially today for this. I honestly don't know what's going on. It's not like coffee down the wrong tube.
00:12:18
Speaker 4: That's why I didn't do that, podcast listeners. This is for you because I knew this was coming. You knew it wouldn't be for you today.
00:12:24
Speaker 1: All right. The New York Knicks have tabled all contract extension talks with key players Carl Anthony Towns and Josh Hart. The franchise announced this on Friday, so we haven't had a chance to talk about it. As an organization, our entire focus is on preparing for the upcoming season and delivering another year for our fans to be proud of. That was from a team spokesperson, which in a pretty rare statement to Shams. I mean, this is what they gave to Shams. They're basically saying, all right, we're shutting it down. As a result, we will not be negotiating contract extensions until later in the season and will remain solely focused on preparing for the start of the season. So, okay. We're not talking about cat extensions or Josh Hart or what Deuce McBride or even Tyler Kolek until later. This is what they're saying. Obviously, the big ones are cat for sure.
00:13:07
Speaker 2: And then Hart feels like Jim Dolan is back for the New York Knicks. They won their title. They people found out about the pre playoff speech that he gave and were falling all over themselves to praise this guy for. Telling his team to not have sex for 10 weeks. Since then, good old Jim Dolan. He let Mitchell Robinson walk. He said, I'm never going into the second apron. And now antagonistic negotiations with a guy who deserves to be paid in Carl Anthony Towns. It doesn't always make sense to go into the second apron. There are strict penalties and restrictions with regards to what you're able to do team building wise. But those things are put in place so that you can't add talent to a great team. Rather than being able to keep a team together, this is the kind of team you pay to keep together. You won a title for the first time in 53 years. You've gone to the conference finals or further every year that Karl-Anthony Towns has been there. He's still an all-NBA caliber player, an all-star player. You don't pay specifically on past production, but he definitely earned a bigger contract than what has been rumored out there. Four years, $ 200 million.
00:14:13
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:14:14
Speaker 2: Doesn't seem like Kat's asking for his max, which is in the 280 range. He probably wants like 260. He's saying pay me more than Trae Young, who doesn't have my accolades, who hasn't won a championship for his team, and who is not viewed in the same way around the league so i think this is bad news for the knicks that they're basically like carl anthony towns comes out says no shit sherlock i want to be paid and jim says no talk tommy sit down we're not doing anything and you even have to turn down money in the future if you want to have negotiations during the season so i don't know the Knicks can obviously get over this. They could end up just paying Cat, which they should do, but this is not the way you want to go into the season trying to defend a championship.
00:14:56
Speaker 4: Is Tommy Cat's agent?
00:14:58
Speaker 2: Who's Tommy? Who's Sherlock?
00:15:00
Speaker 4: I don't know. Cat deserves to get paid. This is James Dolan being thrifty. That's what it comes down to. Now, there's other reasons to not go in the second apron. There's a reason why there's only one team right now in the second apron, the Denver Nugs, I'm sure they're going to want to get out is if you want to break it down, you can't package guys together to get them out of there. You can't aggregate guys. You can put them together if you're training multiple, wanting to trade multiple guys.
00:15:28
Speaker 2: So there's that.
00:15:29
Speaker 4: And then you could see, and I mentioned that after you, after you said that Trey about why teams stay away from that second apron, I can see James Dolan being a little more frugal someday and being like, ah, I'm tearing this thing down. Um, But this cat wants to play there. He just wants more than, as you said, uh, four years at 200. That's the rumor number out there. He's getting paid 57 million this coming year. So that would be a real pay cut at seven per year. Like that would be $ 50 million per year instead of the 57 he's ready to make this year.
00:16:03
Speaker 2: So that's asking him to take a pay cut.
00:16:07
Speaker 1: No, no.
00:16:08
Speaker 4: I mean, that's, that's unacceptable to take a pay cut after helping win a championship. But he said he's willing to take less than the max. He literally came out and said, quote, I want to do something that can keep this team together and work with the Knicks and also that values me. So, yeah, he got up to the mic and was basically like, hey, I'm trying to defend myself, which is really weird. It's just really, really odd. Don't you think the whole thing here? I mean, there's a big gap between 200 and 270, and I'm sure they can come to that. But now they're going to be waiting for a long time. They're like, literally? Until next summer? I mean, that's super long.
00:16:46
Speaker 1: And he has to figure out what he's going to do with his $ 61 million option for the 27-28 season. So there's that part as well. And then there's Josh Hart, who is going to make $ 21 million this season. And there's a team option on him for 22.3 and 27-28. Now Hart is coming at this like, okay, everything's going to work out. I'm not really too stressed over it. These are actually his words. I'm quoting them here. I'm not putting too much into it. We have expectations here. So it's good we're able to focus on the season. So, you know, Hart's saying that, but I'm with you guys on the timing of all this, of the Nick statement, like two days after Cat obviously talked to the media and sort of said what he said. Everyone's just like, okay, okay, guys, we're a really good team here. Let's just try and run it back. And then I guess we'll try and get everybody paid, but we'll see if it has any hangover on the season. You know, this was a part of a small part of the reason why some of us were taking the under, at least on the regular season wins. In addition to Mike Brown trying to get minutes for other guys and You slow play the season. They probably don't care all that much on seeding and all of that. But yeah, it's just weird. You just won a championship. James Dolan, everybody's actually going, good job, James. You know, you stayed out of it for once. You let Leon Rose and the boys run it and they won a chip. And oh my God, you can't help yourself. You really can't.
00:17:57
Speaker 4: I get taking pay cuts and that's how billionaires make money, but that's not how James Dolan made money. made money from other stuff.
00:18:05
Speaker 2: Made money from his dad. And his dad gave him the next.
00:18:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, and he doesn't pay rent on MSG from what I'm reading, which is a big money saver since that deal was grandfathered in. But as far as Cat goes.
00:18:19
Speaker 3: He's 31.
00:18:19
Speaker 1: He doesn't have the grind mentality.
00:18:21
Speaker 4: That's right. No, don't think so. Don't think the band is playing anymore. Cat is going to be 31 real soon, and a five-year contract would pay him until he's 36, and I just started to think. Okay, is this an overpay as far as James Dolan in the front office goes? At some point, like at 36, paying somebody 60, 65, 70? I don't think so. I don't think when it comes to Cat that it would even be an overpay then. Like it would be 36. He's easily their best big man. Somebody would take on that salary, that contract when he's 35, 36. So it's not an overpay. You just got to come to a term here.
00:18:59
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:18:59
Speaker 1: Stein also noted last night, rival teams continue to describe Deuce McBride as a likely trade candidate as the season unfolds, given the uncertainty surrounding his own Knicks future. Like I said, he is one of these other guys that I guess all the negotiations is being put aside for now. Obviously much lower on the importance pecking order here at TK.
00:19:19
Speaker 2: Those are the guys you slice off, unfortunately. The fan favorites, the 6th and 7th men, they lost Mitchell Robinson. Deuce McBride will be due for a raise eventually. But if you want to keep together your starting five, which is your huge advantage, somebody's got to take the loss. And unfortunately, it's going to be guys like Mitchell Robinson and Deuce McBride. Yeah.
00:19:39
Speaker 4: And right now they're starting lineup as far as the percentage of their salary cap goes. It's all on the starting lineup. So there's guys on the bench that are going to get cut. Cat makes almost $ 35 of the salary cap. OG makes 25, John Brunson, 23, Mikkel 20, Josh Hart, 12.7. And then there's a huge drop off to Landry Shaman at 3%. So yes, that's exactly right. Guys get, get sliced. They get lopped, unfortunately.
00:20:04
Speaker 3: All right.
00:20:04
Speaker 1: Before doing our first time all-star draft here, um, The NBA season starts next week, which is pretty wild. I mean, basically a week from tomorrow. And it's an afternoon game at that. So it starts earlier there with Detroit and Boston. But so that means obviously preseason is underway, both overseas, here domestically. Does anyone have any NBA preseason takeaways they want to share? I don't know how, you know, if you've done the deep dive and how you're crunching numbers watching these games or catching highlights. Anything's jumped out to you, basically? Open table here.
00:20:36
Speaker 4: I'll just say Darius Acuff. is a baller for the Kings, and the guys who were drafted ahead of him as guards, Keaton Woggle by the Clippers, Michael Brown by the Nets, they may regret their picks, because Darius Aykoff looks awesome. Now, he hasn't been incredible each and every game, but I just think he just looks good.
00:20:54
Speaker 1: He just looks solid. I'll piggyback off that. One of my notes or takeaways from the preseason is like, and we're going to do this on Wednesday when we make our predictions for all the awards, it's like, good luck picking a rookie of the year winner, because I think... including Darius Acuff Jr., and then the top four guys, DeBanta, Peterson, Boozer, Caleb Wilson, throw Yaxel in there too, who's hooping and has an opportunity with the Warriors. That's six guys that you can honestly, realistically talk yourself into making a run for Rookie of the Year. So I think that's going to be difficult because they've all looked pretty solid.
00:21:25
Speaker 2: Here at TK. Yeah, it's going to be hard to see who finishes second in Rookie of the Year voting.
00:21:28
Speaker 4: Mr.
00:21:28
Speaker 2: Caleb? Absolutely. But yeah, I'm with you. Acuff looks good. It looks like the right kind of player you would want next to us, a bonus type. can handle the ball, can play off the ball. So the over on the Kings looking really, really, really good.
00:21:44
Speaker 1: 21 wins coming up.
00:21:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly right. My takeaway, Trae Young is going to lead the league in assists this season. Eight assists in the first quarter against the Pistons. There's a ton of lob threats. Sometimes it's Sartre, sometimes it's Anthony Davis. He had one assist where it looked like he was going to throw in an alley-oop to him. Saar on the right side of the hoop, but it turned out it was to Anthony Davis zooming down the left side. He was also finding Trey Johnson for three pointers. Chris Miller already has a call for it. Trey to Trey all day. You know, I love that. So I don't know if Trey young is going to play like Steve Nash for the entirety of his time in Washington. They gave him a gigantic contract. They want him to be good. And then, at least through one quarter of a preseason game, he was in distribution mode, and that's kind of what Trae Young needs to be. He's still a really good passer, a great pick and roll player. His scoring can come and go because he's so streaky with his jump shot, and I don't think the explosiveness is there the same way it was to get to his floater inside, but there are scorers around on the Wizards who can take a little bit of pressure off Trae, and it wouldn't be surprising to me to see him average 11, 12 assists this season.
00:22:52
Speaker 1: I was just about to ask you, did you want to throw out a number prediction? Because I wanted to check. I was like, has Trey Young led the league in assists per game before in his career? Yes, he did. 11.6 in one year with the Hawks there. Yeah, will he be able to eclipse that? He just settled between 11 and 12, so probably somewhere around there. And that would likely do it, I think. Those are pretty high assist numbers to potentially lead the league, yeah. I agree.
00:23:15
Speaker 4: I think Phoenix, Kevin Malouach watch is real. The guy is really great. And I think The fact that they've slow played him even a little bit during the preseason, they've let Oso Iguodaro start in front of him at times.
00:23:27
Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense. Just let him go.
00:23:31
Speaker 4: Unleash Malawash so everyone can say man-man and call him that. That nickname never been done in the NBA, I don't think.
00:23:39
Speaker 2: Never been man-man?
00:23:40
Speaker 4: I don't think so.
00:23:40
Speaker 2: No? What about Jamal Tinsley?
00:23:44
Speaker 4: They called him Man-Man?
00:23:45
Speaker 2: I think so.
00:23:45
Speaker 3: Oh, really?
00:23:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know why. I think that's true.
00:23:48
Speaker 4: That's news to me. But he looks really, really good. He looks like a man-man out there, tracking guys defensively. I mean, he played really well against Victor Wembanyama, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, even if it's a preseason game. He hasn't played incredible in each and every game, but that's the guy that they're willing to bank on as their starting center for a long time. And I know you, Skeets, picked... an under for the phoenix suns it's it's like and it's like i picked an under for the kings uh and they're 20 and a half but i don't know i just that jordan uh organization getting guys to play they're gonna play hard and.
00:24:26
Speaker 1: I know i not only picked them i locked them uh the suns was an under lock for me but it's 39 and a half for obviously phoenix like it's doubling up the king's wins yeah it's pretty big but yeah he looks good tell me i'm wrong so yeah i'm like okay maybe I absolutely could be, but right now I'm not.
00:24:42
Speaker 2: Right now I'm perfect.
00:24:43
Speaker 4: They've got to play the games first, and Melloc's never been a starting center. They've got Jalen Green sometimes. You mentioned Steve Nash playing like Steve Nash, learning from Steve Nash, and he does some good point guard stuff, but can that keep up? That's a very big prominent role change for him that they're trying to push him through, so that's different.
00:25:02
Speaker 1: One notable name that did return over the weekend and who I took the over on their team. And I think you guys took the under was Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks. He, uh, I thought looked pretty solid in his return. He hadn't played basketball in what, like nearly 600 days after the, uh, the ACL injury, but it looked like old Kyrie to me. He had some explosiveness, you know, crazy grenade bomb at the end of the shot clock. And I just thought he looked like, obviously the handle did not depart that It's still tight. So, yeah, that's good news for the Mavericks, who had a good win with Cooper Flake out there as well.
00:25:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, the thing with Kyrie is that even I thought his explosion was fine. He didn't look like a super zippy early in his career, Kyrie Irving, but he's so skilled that he doesn't need the explosion the way he did. He understands angles. He understands finishing. He obviously has a great jump shot. The only thing that had me taking the Mavericks under is I don't think Kyrie's going to be on the team the entire season. The better he plays, the more attractive he's going to be to outside interests as well. But he's a perfect fit next to Cooper Flagg, a kind of guy that can play on or off the ball, can take over when needed, can create for himself or create for others. And obviously the Mavericks would love to keep him around because he's pretty much the only guard they have. Yeah.
00:26:14
Speaker 1: So.
00:26:15
Speaker 2: It's just a matter of how long can he stick around in Dallas. But the pairing with him and Cooper is very nice.
00:26:20
Speaker 1: Yeah. And he's just also, I mean, this is not breaking news, but Kyrie is the type of guy, he's been such an all-star all-NBA player for so long when healthy. He just makes other guys look so much better. Like suddenly PJ Washington makes more sense. Gafford makes more sense. When Kyrie's out there, when they're very short on guards as it is. He's so dangerous with the ball, and he's such a threat always with the ball, even if he has lost a step. Now, I saw him blow by Jabari Smith Jr., who's probably 10 years younger than him. That was great to see on the first play of the game. But, man, yeah, if he sticks around, I like the chances of that overhitting. But how long will he be there? Will Masai cash in on it if another team comes calling with a huge draft package and young players, something like that?
00:27:00
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:27:01
Speaker 4: I was naive last year to think they're going to keep Kyrie around. Just because he is. I compliment Cooper Flagg, and maybe they want to be good now, but maybe they need to change direction and be good later. But he is going to make a lot of guys around him better. It's like what I said about Brandon Projemski off the top, and I'm segueing to that because... Apparently Brandon Bojemski was a really good baseball player, a good left-hand pitcher.
00:27:23
Speaker 2: I just need to get in.
00:27:24
Speaker 4: I just got to give credit to is what it is 2744 who said that he walked three guys and then struck out three guys. And I believe it. After looking at pods here in 2021, he could have been drafted, but he decided, you know what? I'm going to play basketball instead.
00:27:38
Speaker 2: Didn't he once say he was like a Shohei Otani-like character as a baseball player?
00:27:42
Speaker 4: I don't remember that.
00:27:43
Speaker 2: He's compared himself very favorably to Steph and Shohei Otani.
00:27:46
Speaker 1: Damn.
00:27:46
Speaker 2: Shohei. Wow.
00:27:47
Speaker 1: He does not lack in confidence.
00:27:49
Speaker 2: He does not.
00:27:49
Speaker 4: No.
00:27:50
Speaker 2: And as long as we're clarifying things, Jamal Tinsley was Mel-Mel.
00:27:54
Speaker 1: All right.
00:27:54
Speaker 3: Not man, man.
00:27:55
Speaker 1: My only other preseason takeaway is Leonard Miller. Still awesome, ladies and gentlemen. He's killing it right now with the preseason.
00:28:02
Speaker 2: He's killing it.
00:28:03
Speaker 1: And I've been telling you for a long time, and I'm seeing the timeline start to catch up here and sharing all the clips. And the three-pointer, he's hitting with some consistency right now. He puts in effort on the glass. So he's averaging, I think, 17 and 7 and a couple of assists and a steal in very limited minutes still. There could be a role here for the Bulls. I mean, off the bench, for sure. Um, they got a lot of guys on that team, but the bench, you know, you got like a solid guy in Trey Jones and a sangway might get some, obviously opportunity at Coro's there, buddy heels there, you know, they have the roles at least the bulls bench might be, uh, you know, help them win some more of these games here. What's their line again? Something like 29 and a half 30. So anyway, Leonard Miller is the real deal. Welcome to the party.
00:28:44
Speaker 2: He's just in a tough spot in the rotation because why would they ever play him over Buzelis or Wilson? And he plays the same position. He's basically playing small ball five. He's got an ugly jumper. It was going in.
00:28:54
Speaker 1: Of course it is.
00:28:55
Speaker 2: But it looks very weird. And he plays upright like Danny Zuko in Greece.
00:28:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. The only thing is, you're right positionally-wise, those guys are more wing, if I'm picking wing or bigs to those guys you're saying, they feel more big wings to me and Leonard more of, even though he can shoot, more of an inside guy. Eh, you know, one injury opens up something like that.
00:29:15
Speaker 2: I don't know.
00:29:16
Speaker 1: Leonard Miller, man, get on board. He was hooping. Any other preseason takeaways? Okay, let's get to drafting. Here's how we're going to do this. Last season, we drafted 15 potential first-time All-Stars. And to decide who goes first in this year's draft, we're going to put you two to the test. You guys will ultimately decide who gets the number one pick. Now, I don't know how much homework you did. This might be easy for you. But last year, we got 15. four correct. We're going to go back and forth between the two of you.
00:29:43
Speaker 4: The guys we got correct.
00:29:44
Speaker 1: In naming the correct guys we predicted would be first-time All-Stars. We got four out of the 15. Not bad.
00:29:51
Speaker 2: Not great.
00:29:52
Speaker 1: Tess, you go first here. Name one. Last year that we took.
00:29:54
Speaker 4: Jamal Murray.
00:29:55
Speaker 1: Correct. Correct. Way to go, Tess. Trey. Wow.
00:29:59
Speaker 2: First-time All-Stars that we picked. I'm trying to remember who was first-time All-Stars. Jalen Johnson. Correct. Back to you, Tass.
00:30:06
Speaker 1: There's two left here.
00:30:07
Speaker 4: Oh, I'm going to grab my mug, sit at the bar.
00:30:12
Speaker 2: This one's for Norm, pal. Wow.
00:30:15
Speaker 1: Tass Mellis took Norm with his last pick in this thing.
00:30:18
Speaker 3: He got drafted?
00:30:18
Speaker 2: He took him.
00:30:19
Speaker 4: I never let anything go, man.
00:30:21
Speaker 1: That was a hell of a call, Tass.
00:30:22
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:30:22
Speaker 1: And then, Trey, we got one more. If you name it, I'm going to have to come up with something else to decide.
00:30:28
Speaker 2: Oh, man.
00:30:28
Speaker 5: Ugh.
00:30:31
Speaker 1: Chet Holmgren? He got it. He pulled it out at the end.
00:30:34
Speaker 2: Let's go to the fifth one. Keep going.
00:30:36
Speaker 1: There wasn't.
00:30:37
Speaker 4: There's only four? First time all-stars?
00:30:39
Speaker 2: No.
00:30:40
Speaker 1: That we got right.
00:30:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, that we got right. I was between Chet and Jalen Duren. I was like, did anybody pick him? I don't think so.
00:30:46
Speaker 1: He wasn't selected. Chet was a good pull.
00:30:48
Speaker 3: All right, here.
00:30:49
Speaker 1: This is completely subjective. Who is our biggest miss? That will decide. I know it. Who is our biggest miss when we were doing, it's not Jalen Duren, I'll just say that right now. when we were doing our potential first-time All-Star draft, and we missed this guy, and he was obviously a first-time All-Star. I'll just let you go if you get it right. I feel like Oz the Mentalist right now. Look at me.
00:31:10
Speaker 2: As in, we should have picked this guy.
00:31:12
Speaker 4: Was Wemby a first-time All-Star?
00:31:14
Speaker 6: No.
00:31:16
Speaker 2: Second time.
00:31:17
Speaker 1: Trey, you get a chance here.
00:31:19
Speaker 2: First-time All-Star that we should have picked.
00:31:21
Speaker 4: Wow.
00:31:23
Speaker 1: I'm surprised we did it, let's be honest.
00:31:25
Speaker 2: Who could it be now?
00:31:25
Speaker 1: He played really well at the end of the year before. Then he translated into a great year. I think he scored, I mean, I'm giving you a lot of hints here, but 24 points a game, I feel like the guy would score.
00:31:35
Speaker 2: I don't know. Tass? I don't know.
00:31:38
Speaker 1: Western Conference team. Played in the East. He's been in the West for two years now. International guy.
00:31:46
Speaker 3: Denny.
00:31:46
Speaker 1: There you go.
00:31:47
Speaker 3: Denny was the guy.
00:31:49
Speaker 1: Denny was the guy.
00:31:50
Speaker 2: Denny Avdia. Denny, yeah.
00:31:52
Speaker 4: The fact that we left him off, it's not like super surprising.
00:31:57
Speaker 2: Is it super surprising?
00:31:58
Speaker 1: It is to me.
00:31:59
Speaker 3: Great player.
00:32:00
Speaker 2: Great player.
00:32:01
Speaker 4: He needed to move from the Wizards.
00:32:02
Speaker 1: He did.
00:32:03
Speaker 4: I mean, he jumped from 16.9 to 24.2.
00:32:05
Speaker 1: But like I said, I do remember him playing well. He may have even been discussed. Like, what about this guy? But like, he did play well at the end of that first year at the Blazers.
00:32:15
Speaker 2: Definitely.
00:32:15
Speaker 1: The numbers went up and we were like, well, can they do that for a full year?
00:32:18
Speaker 2: It was great.
00:32:18
Speaker 4: The last year of the Wizards, man.
00:32:20
Speaker 1: Also, I had forgotten last year, we had like a, before we started doing this draft for the first time all-stars, we had a big debate or discussion about the world. versus Team USA in the All-Star format because it was announced around this time last year. And I guess we're just doing it again, right?
00:32:37
Speaker 2: They haven't said anything about it. Yeah, I guess they're running back.
00:32:41
Speaker 1: Remember Norm? Norm was actually, didn't Norm go from Team America and then he got moved over to the Team World because De'Aaron Fox was like an injury replacement? I think that happened.
00:32:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, and he represents Jamaica, right?
00:32:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
00:32:54
Speaker 1: I think so.
00:32:55
Speaker 2: Sure.
00:32:55
Speaker 1: I think they ended up moving them.
00:32:56
Speaker 2: I believe it.
00:32:56
Speaker 4: There was some weird stuff. Cat played for Team International, right?
00:33:01
Speaker 2: I think.
00:33:02
Speaker 6: Maybe.
00:33:02
Speaker 4: American, but Dominican roots, of course.
00:33:05
Speaker 1: All right. So who ended up saying it in the end? Trey did. Trey did.
00:33:09
Speaker 2: Nice. Okay.
00:33:10
Speaker 1: So Trey, you get the number one pick. Let's just go one, two, three. We'll go this way this year. Okay. And we're not doing a snake draft or anything like that. We're doing five rounds. First time all-stars that we are trying to draft here. Hey, collectively, guys, look at me.
00:33:22
Speaker 5: Look at me.
00:33:23
Speaker 1: Let's do better than four. Is there going to be enough, though? Is there going to be enough?
00:33:28
Speaker 2: How many first-timers were there last year?
00:33:31
Speaker 1: I remember you always had the numbers, Trey. It's like, on average, there's like five or six or something. I think it's something like that.
00:33:38
Speaker 4: Well, we should be able to get every single one if there is five.
00:33:40
Speaker 2: Six last year, it looks like.
00:33:42
Speaker 4: So we missed Denny. Who was the other guy we missed?
00:33:46
Speaker 5: Duren.
00:33:47
Speaker 3: Duren.
00:33:47
Speaker 2: There we go.
00:33:48
Speaker 1: That's probably the sixth one.
00:33:49
Speaker 4: Okay.
00:33:50
Speaker 1: Anyway, I want a better number than four.
00:33:52
Speaker 2: I think this guy got drafted last year.
00:33:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's going to be some repeats for sure.
00:33:56
Speaker 2: Cooper Flagg. Yeah. You're my number one pick. I'm guessing he was number one for everybody.
00:34:02
Speaker 1: I am very high.
00:34:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, probably.
00:34:05
Speaker 1: If he was still there on the board, I was taking him.
00:34:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, he had a great second half of the season. The shooting percentages weren't there, but I assume they'll come up this year. Finished the year shooting 47%, 29 from three. But in the second half of the season, percentages still down, but 23 per game, seven rebounds, five assists. He's going to have Kyrie Irving at least for the first part of the season. alongside him I'm a little discouraged for the Mavericks that Derek Lively's still recuperating because I think that would be a cool threesome to see together having a guard a wing and a big together but they gave Cooper a ton of responsibility last year it didn't go so well at the beginning of the season but he really came into his own as the season progressed and just learned how to be an NBA player so everybody's expecting big things from Cooper Flagg in year two he is my number one pick okay Yeah, an easy pick.
00:34:54
Speaker 4: I guess the counter is if Kyrie Irving is absolutely balling for four months, maybe they can't take a double and Kyrie's the guy that they pick, I guess.
00:35:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, the one possibility. Okay. Where are you going?
00:35:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's harder after Cooper. For me, I'm taking Stephon Castle, though. I know it's a little surprising.
00:35:15
Speaker 1: Over Dylan Harper.
00:35:16
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:35:16
Speaker 1: That's a fun debate.
00:35:17
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:35:18
Speaker 4: Because last year in the regular season, Stephon Castle's number is far better than Dylan Harper's. Five more points per game than Dylan Harper. I think Stephon Castle's going to have the ball in his hands a lot more than Dylan Harper. Just the fact that he's going to play more. I still think that they're going to at least try Dylan Harper off the bench more. And Stephon Castle, yeah. I mean, that's why they went and got Toby to play at the four. So you only have a couple guys. Honestly, they're going to play Fox. Castle and Harper together at times. It's going to happen. But Castle has the ball in his hands a lot. There is a connection there between him and Victor. And when this team is rolling up at the top of the standings, they need to take a second spur. I think that's what's going to happen. And I think he's going to be the pick over Dylan Harper.
00:36:05
Speaker 2: But it's a good debate.
00:36:06
Speaker 1: It's a good debate because if Dylan Harper is getting Castle-like minutes, then could his numbers be very similar, his impact, his efficiency? It's all that. Because last year, Castle better numbers in the regular season.
00:36:18
Speaker 3: You're right.
00:36:18
Speaker 1: But he also played like 30 minutes a game and Harper was playing like 22 minutes a game. So if that's, if that's more comparable to Castle 30, 31, 32, we were going to wait and see, but, uh, the numbers could be awesome because we saw how great he is, uh, obviously in the post season. Well, if you had to pick Trey, I know we got lots to draft here still, but Castle or Harper?
00:36:39
Speaker 2: Castle for sure.
00:36:40
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:36:40
Speaker 2: He's the starter right now. I mean, if they told me today Dylan Harper's starting, maybe then he gets picked. But I'm with Tass. I think there will be two Spurs, and Castle is the number two guy right now. Tony Parker made a lot more all-star teams than Manu Ginopoli.
00:36:55
Speaker 1: All right, I have my first pick here. I'll leave Harper. We'll see if he gets selected. I'm sure he will maybe later on. But I'm going to take a guy that I think will probably score 25 a game, 26 a game, maybe even more.
00:37:07
Speaker 3: I don't know.
00:37:08
Speaker 1: He plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Give me Austin Reeves. who obviously now in his role as the number two guy with Luka. When they played together, I brought this stat up when we were doing our over-unders. When it was those two and no LeBron, I mean, it was good. And there was some team success. It's a whole bunch of new pieces with the Lakers. And I'm a guy that's crept on Austin Reeves before. But I think he's going to have great numbers, and I think they'll be good enough that he'll be flirting with an opportunity to make Team USA. That's the other thing. Good USA guy there for Austin Reeves. I'm sort of joking. I have no idea. But I'll take him. My first pick. Any complaints? Was he on your list at least?
00:37:44
Speaker 2: Oh, for sure. He was high on my list. I think he's close to 25 a game. He was like 23 per game last year. And that was, I mean, a weird season for the Lakers with LeBron being in and out of the lineup, Luka being in and out of the lineup. So there were times when Austin Reeves got to be in takeover mode. But he's the clear-cut number two guy right now. And he's a great player when it's him with the second unit. So, yeah, I think 25 points per game is certainly reasonable.
00:38:09
Speaker 1: Just have to hope he can stay healthy, which has been sort of his bug here.
00:38:12
Speaker 2: For a while.
00:38:13
Speaker 4: Yeah, he missed January last year.
00:38:15
Speaker 1: Oh, the worst month to miss when it comes to All-Star Talk.
00:38:18
Speaker 3: It really is.
00:38:18
Speaker 1: Never miss January.
00:38:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:38:20
Speaker 4: You want him to play, and then he's got a chance. You've got to double-Laker it, though. You've got to double-Laker it. Because Lakers have got to be there.
00:38:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
00:38:27
Speaker 4: So, I don't know.
00:38:28
Speaker 3: The West is tough.
00:38:29
Speaker 1: The West is tough. Okay, Trey, back to you. Second round.
00:38:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, interesting. I'm more so on the young guy spectrum of things when I'm making this. I think I can wait on an old man for a little bit here. So give me Brandon Miller as an all-star. 20 points per game last year. That should take up this year as he takes on more responsibility with Lomelo going out. I wonder if we'll see him flash any sort of playmaking chops. Hasn't been a big part of Brandon Miller's game with Lomelo being the lead playmaker there. I think Khan is probably a better passer. than Brandon Miller is. I wouldn't be surprised if Khan gets drafted eventually, but I think, I think that Brandon Miller will be the leading scorer for this Hornets team, which gives you a leg up when it comes to all-star selections.
00:39:17
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:39:18
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:39:18
Speaker 1: I keep thinking like now that LaMelo's gone, can Brandon Miller become a little more Jalen Johnson-like in an all-around type game and taking on more of the offensive responsibilities, just like when Trey left, and Jalen sort of got into that role something to watch yeah I also like I hear you on the knipple it's like one of the other though Tim I can't imagine two Hornets are going to be making the all-star team so yeah I would take Brandon I would take Brandon Miller because he's more likely to be scoring I think 24, 25 type thing. Yeah.
00:39:45
Speaker 4: And the fact that Conn Knipple comes into the season with a hamstring injury, I think helps out Brandon Miller a little bit. And you want to talk about confident Brandons out there. We talked about Brandon Pajemski being confident. Brandon Miller's super confident too. I mean, even the preseason, like the step back threes from the corner, this guy's got it. So it's a good pick. I would have taken him over Conn Knipple at this point, but they're both going to make an all-star game at some point.
00:40:08
Speaker 1: Also one guy's going into his fourth year and Knipple obviously the sophomore year and all that. Okay.
00:40:12
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:40:12
Speaker 1: Okay, Brandon Milligan, that's a good pick. Where are you going, Taffs?
00:40:15
Speaker 4: I'm taking Franz Wagner.
00:40:17
Speaker 1: Oh, I did it last year. Yeah. It was my first pick, I think.
00:40:19
Speaker 4: And he would have got there if he wasn't hurt. I think that's a big part of it. Franz is going to get there at some point. You know, they got to stay healthy so he won't be doubled that much. I think, will he be the one that's selected from the Magic if they're all playing well? Or does it go to Paulo Banqueiro? I think Franz can be that guy. that connector to make Bane and Paolo and Suggs and Carter better. So he may be, you know, just like the Hornets, there's probably just one magic player that gets taken. But I think it could be Franz. And I've got them as an over and an overlock. I think they'll put their backs to the wall as it is their last year. It's their last dance of those guys that I mentioned together. If it doesn't come together this year, they got to implode. So I'm taking Franz as their glue. And first time that he'll get there.
00:41:13
Speaker 1: Bane has never made an all-star game either, right?
00:41:15
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:41:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, they got him.
00:41:16
Speaker 4: Just Boncaro, that's it, right?
00:41:18
Speaker 2: He was deep on my list, Bane.
00:41:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, same here. I probably wasn't going to take him, but I couldn't remember if he had actually made it. All right, you're taking France. Yeah. Look, the numbers are good. Now, see, I'm going the other way with the magic. I think this could be... I'm looking at this as the year where it's like, uh-oh, it doesn't work with these two guys.
00:41:35
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:41:35
Speaker 1: And maybe they break it up, but we'll see if Sean Sweeney, what magic he's got.
00:41:39
Speaker 2: Huh, magic.
00:41:40
Speaker 1: Pun intended.
00:41:42
Speaker 2: All right.
00:41:43
Speaker 1: I'm going to take a guy that I think Trey, like I said, took last year. And that is Amin Thompson of the Houston Rockets. Because, you know, we're high on the Rockets. We think there'll be a lot of regular season wins. He's already one of their best players. I mean, it's Durant then. Van Vliet is very important to the Rockets' success. But Amin Thompson last year. I mean, the guy's... puts up numbers, right? 18-8-5 he averaged. So now the ball might not be in his hands as much to be the point guard type guy, maybe second units and all that. Anyway, he's flirting with 20 already. He's one of the best defenders in the league, so he gets that bump. They should be a good team. You know, Durant, we keep like wondering like, will this be the year the old guy finally misses some time? And if that's the case, then he slots in there. But there's Elper and Shen Goon too. Who gets his numbers and gets some, you know, has made a couple. Has he made two All-Star games? Made one at least. So maybe it's a bit of a stretch here, but I love Allman Thompson. I think he's such a good player.
00:42:37
Speaker 2: So I'll take him. Dual eligibility, too. He may be eligible for the world team. Oh, that's good. They've at least talked about representing Jamaica. as a national team. So, you know, it could be a Norman Powell sort of situation.
00:42:52
Speaker 1: Hey, yeah. Especially an injury replacement.
00:42:54
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:42:55
Speaker 1: Could maybe help his chances.
00:42:56
Speaker 2: All right.
00:42:57
Speaker 1: So I'm in Thompson off the board. We'll see if his twin brother gets selected for the Pistons.
00:43:04
Speaker 2: Back to you. Third round.
00:43:06
Speaker 1: Back to me.
00:43:07
Speaker 3: Time to get weirder.
00:43:08
Speaker 6: Yeah.
00:43:09
Speaker 2: Let's take an old guy.
00:43:11
Speaker 1: Old guy. Okay.
00:43:11
Speaker 2: Going into his 10th season.
00:43:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, can we guess this?
00:43:15
Speaker 4: Pacer Center Zubats?
00:43:17
Speaker 2: He's on my list. Not bad.
00:43:19
Speaker 1: Zubats is going into his 10th.
00:43:20
Speaker 2: He's going into his 11th season, Zubats is. Yeah, he was 16. Okay, who else could it be? This guy's never been more famous.
00:43:26
Speaker 1: OG Ananobi.
00:43:27
Speaker 2: That's right.
00:43:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, I have him on my list.
00:43:29
Speaker 2: 10th season.
00:43:29
Speaker 1: I like it.
00:43:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't think of him as been around for 10 years, but it's 10 years at this point. OG was a 20-point-per-game scorer in the playoffs for the Knicks, hit the biggest shot of the finals, the tip in game four, 10th. He's friends and potentially paramours with Anne Hathaway, who's having a great year in the box office right now. The Knicks would have to have an awesome season. They would have to, you know, clearly be in first place in the Eastern Conference. You're getting Brunson in the game, no doubt about it. I think Towns is still ahead of OG in the pecking order, but if they're dominating in the East... they get three All-Stars. He's got the world eligibility as well. So give me OG. Yeah. He's very high on my list, but you know, you don't see a lot of guys make their first All-Star team at year 10.
00:44:15
Speaker 1: No, it's very rare.
00:44:17
Speaker 4: It's like the norm, the norm factor. Was that his 10th year? Was that Norm's 10th year he made his first All-Star team? It was, I guess, because he was drafted in 15, or was that his 11th? I guess that was his 11th.
00:44:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was 11th season for Norman.
00:44:32
Speaker 4: But yes, you could see why OG Ananobi makes it a guy who was in talks to be the NBA finals MVP for a long time during that finals. Uh, it felt like until Jalen stole it from him. So yes, that's a, that's a good one. And you know, he's buddies, I guess with Anne Hathaway. I thought his, speaking of his off court performance, I thought he was better doing interviews this summer. Like he was a little less, uh, stuffy. He was just himself a little bit more.
00:45:01
Speaker 2: You know, it was different.
00:45:02
Speaker 4: Usually he's quiet guy. He's got the lines, but yeah, he was real this year. So maybe it's Anne Hathaway's influence. I don't know.
00:45:11
Speaker 1: I had him on my short list. Cause I'm with you. Like they would, they want to get him in the all-star. He's well, he's so well liked. Obviously this could, should be a very good team still. It's that will be the tough part. Will there be three Knicks representatives? Cause it has to be Brunson and cat if healthy.
00:45:25
Speaker 3: And then him.
00:45:26
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:45:27
Speaker 1: It makes sense to me, especially an injury replacement.
00:45:30
Speaker 2: Definitely could see that.
00:45:31
Speaker 1: And I feel like when, when you get to injury replacement, there's a little bit of like, well, you second year, third player, like you'll get in. Let's give it to this guy. Who's like, maybe we'll be his only opportunity to crack an all-star game. So someone like OG or something like that. So I like it. I like the thinking. Where are you going?
00:45:48
Speaker 4: I'm going weird too. The Boston Celtics look really good. Now this would mean that they're getting a second all-star beside Jason Tatum. But there's always the talk. Now I'm debating myself. Is it Derek White or Peyton Pritchard? Because I think they both have a chance. But Pritchard will come off the bench a lot.
00:46:08
Speaker 1: But I'm taking him.
00:46:09
Speaker 4: I think he will start a bunch. His numbers will be bigger, higher than Derek White, even if he does come off the bench because he is an incredible one-on-one player. But I'm taking Pritchard. It feels weird, but it also feels like the Celtics are going to perform really well. And with Jalen Brown out, I think Peyton Pritchard He's going to have lots of opportunity because Tatum is more of a playmaker and a sister than Jalen Brown was. So if they share the floor together, Pritchard's going to have lots of opportunity and he's going to score, man. So I know Derek White, more important player probably on that team, but I'll take Pritchard.
00:46:43
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:46:44
Speaker 1: I had him on my list as well. So good pick. Okay. I'm taking a guy that's, I feel like he's slipped here. I get it why his team probably going to suck. Maybe that hurts his chances, but Give me Trey Murphy III of the New Orleans Pelicans.
00:46:57
Speaker 2: I had him.
00:46:57
Speaker 1: He always gets selected in this.
00:46:59
Speaker 4: I thought I could sneak him in in the fourth round, fifth round.
00:47:03
Speaker 1: I'm getting him at the end of the third round. I love the position I'm getting him. The guy's good. He's efficient. He scores a lot. It's going to come down whether the team is at all decent enough. They're like, I guess we need a representative or it feels fine to have him.
00:47:17
Speaker 6: Why would they pick him over Zion? Well, he scores more. Yeah, I mean, the numbers could be very comparable and just good. I mean, he's scored like 22 a game over the last two years, so it's like consistency well as well. And he could, obviously that could jump a little bit as he gets older and a little more mature. So yeah, I'm taking him again. I forget who had him last year. Somebody had him on their team last year, but he's on mine this year.
00:47:40
Speaker 1: Trey Murphy III, taken in the third round, had fitting with the third pick of the third round.
00:47:44
Speaker 2: Wow, perfect.
00:47:45
Speaker 1: Yes. This will be the year, hopefully. I mean, he's similar to Franz to me. It's like, These are great numbers, great players. Will it just, the timing right? Will you stay healthy enough at the right time to get, to warrant the consideration from the coaches? Yeah. Fourth round, Trey.
00:48:00
Speaker 2: A lot of guys on the list. A lot of guys on the list. Yeah. Nobody I'm crazy about taking. I'll take an upside swing.
00:48:09
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:48:10
Speaker 2: Remember all that stuff I said about taking Stephon Castle over Dylan Harper?
00:48:14
Speaker 1: What if it's wrong, though?
00:48:17
Speaker 2: Dylan Harper is my pick. He could make an all-star team. Everything Tass said is true. He could be a starter. He could eventually move into the lineup and put up huge numbers and become clearly the second-best player on the San Antonio Spurs. the timing would be tough. I think like a, an injury to Fox or castle early in the season that forces Mitch Johnson's hand makes him have to move Harper into the starting lineup. Once he gets there, you can't take him out. Maybe something like that happens. A lot of things would have to transpire for Dylan Harper to take the starting job. But if he does, I think he would have a chance at the all-star game. So you're on my team, buddy. I think, I think, Is it crazy?
00:48:56
Speaker 1: I don't know. I think he is the second best player on the San Antonio Spurs. But yeah, of course, opportunity minutes, you got to show it consistently. It's one thing to do it in a playoff series or two, but can you do it for 75 plus games? Yeah. But I love the pick. He was going to be my next pick if he was still there. I think it's a steal because I'm believing he's going to play. I mean, you talk about a guy confident, basically demanding I need to start because he knows he's an all-star.
00:49:19
Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
00:49:20
Speaker 1: And like you already went through, you think everybody thinks they're going to win 60 plus games. So they're going to be probably maybe the best record come all-star break too. So that helps your chances.
00:49:29
Speaker 4: Yeah. It's not going to be many teams that get two guys, I don't think, but that they joined the party. Them and OKC for sure.
00:49:37
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:49:37
Speaker 6: Right.
00:49:38
Speaker 1: Shea, J-Dub and Chet, eh?
00:49:39
Speaker 4: Maybe.
00:49:40
Speaker 1: Okay, this is a round where it did start to get a little more difficult, I thought. Like 10 guys, you know, and then you're like, okay, you can start talking yourself into some guys. And where are you talking yourself into?
00:49:50
Speaker 4: I'm talking myself into Michael Porter Jr.
00:49:52
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:49:53
Speaker 4: I think their floor is higher with Julius Randle there. They're going to win more games than last year when Michael Porter Jr. was, potentially, and talked about as a potential all-star. He puts up big numbers. They lost a lot of games. But that doesn't prevent you from making an all-star game. We saw last year... That's when Siakam made it, right? And the Pacers absolutely stunk. Did he make it?
00:50:16
Speaker 2: Siakam, I think, was an all-star last year.
00:50:18
Speaker 4: And they were horrendous. So I think this could be easily the same scenario. Michael Porter Jr., floor higher. It's like the Raptors of last year when both Brandon Ingram and Scotty Barnes made it. Brandon Ingram, their leading scorer, like Michael Porter Jr., will be for the Brooklyn Nets. Difference is, I don't think Julius Randle's making it like Scotty Barnes made it last year, but I think he could be the guy. And especially with Randle being the playmaker, Michael Porter Jr. is going to score a ton. A lot of points. Will they take Randle or Michael Porter Jr. if they're at the end of the list? And there's injury replacements, and they see the Brooklyn Nets are, you know, 15 and 20. Do they take Randle over Michael Porter Jr.
00:51:01
Speaker 2: Maybe.
00:51:03
Speaker 4: But MPJ, plan for his contract.
00:51:05
Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Yeah, he's talking up like, I'm the best off-ball player in the league, too. He's talking the talk here. He's going to try and back it up. That's a good pick. He's going to score a ton.
00:51:14
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
00:51:14
Speaker 4: No doubt.
00:51:15
Speaker 1: It's like, will they be good enough? Yeah, for him. Now, the only thing, like, you made the Siakam comparison. Fair enough. Like, they were bad. But Siakam was already an all-star.
00:51:23
Speaker 4: Three times before.
00:51:24
Speaker 1: Three times. And the year prior he was. And that was a good Pacers team. So I feel like it gets easier for the coaches to be like, well, we took him because he's awesome. And then, yeah, Halliburton gets hurt, but he's still awesome.
00:51:35
Speaker 4: So.
00:51:35
Speaker 1: Michael Porter Jr. doesn't have that going for him because he's trying to make his first one.
00:51:39
Speaker 4: Just keep talking it up. Say you're the best off-ball player in the league because he was part of the conversation last year. His numbers were awesome. The talk was him or Lowry Markkinen, as Trey and I like to debate, which would you take? And Lowry made it in the West, putting up numbers while MPJ just sat there with his 24 points.
00:51:58
Speaker 2: Didn't make it.
00:52:00
Speaker 1: All right, my next pick here, my fourth pick overall. I am taking a guy that just got paid this offseason. Young guard for the Utah Jazz. I'm taking Keontae George.
00:52:12
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:52:12
Speaker 1: Now, I know maybe you could talk yourself in. Nobody's taken a rookie yet. Maybe you talk yourself into the Darren Peterson and all, but I love Keontae George, man. And the numbers were good. Now we're going to find out were they just good because it was, you know, sort of hate to do it, but pointless basketball in the sense they weren't really trying to win games. I don't think it is. I think he's actually a really talented player and I think the numbers could look very solid. He's a scoring point guard. Now there's more scoring beside him, though. We'll see how that works. So I'll take him in the fourth round. Keontae George of the Jazz, who, you know, they're not going to be garbage this year either. Not that they're going to be at the top of the West, but... They'll be competitive.
00:52:49
Speaker 2: They'll be competitive.
00:52:50
Speaker 4: The problem is, you know, Lowry make it before him. Does Jaron Jackson Jr. make it before him? Then it gets a little... There's no way they're taking three.
00:52:58
Speaker 2: No, no, no.
00:53:00
Speaker 1: It'll come down. It'll be like a positional thing here for sure. Like, will there be more, will there be more big selected? And like, so then a guy like Lowry or Jaron Jackson gets squeezed and maybe there's a guard opening or something.
00:53:13
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:53:14
Speaker 1: It's a stretch here, man.
00:53:15
Speaker 4: He scores way more than Jaron Jackson Jr.
00:53:18
Speaker 2: He scores.
00:53:19
Speaker 4: To me, it's more Lowry versus him, but you know.
00:53:23
Speaker 2: It's just going to be interesting to see the opportunity he has this year. With Markkinen being healthy, he was not an all-star last year. And Jaron Jackson Jr., more shots for him as well. You assume Peterson will get the ball some. So I wonder if Keontae George is going to get squeezed a little this year, which is probably good for them, for the team long term. Like he probably should be your number three guy. Yeah, maybe. He'll be a good number three guy.
00:53:46
Speaker 1: All right, final round. And then we can play What About This Guy. So one more pick here for each of us. Well, I'm taking a bull. you took a couple last year that's exactly.
00:53:55
Speaker 2: Right there ain't no way any of these guys are going to make the all-star team but it's round five i'm between giddy.
00:54:00
Speaker 1: Buzellas and caleb wilson of course.
00:54:03
Speaker 2: Like giddy has the best chance i think he'll probably be the bulls leading scorer this year he'll certainly lead the team in assists buzellas would be fun to see and wilson would be awesome but he's a rookie so give me caleb wilson rookies never make the all-star team but i want to see it on the graphic caleb wilson first time all-star draft i can't leave him let's do that hey couldn't do it.
00:54:24
Speaker 1: He looks great. I mean, I'm, I'm a believer as we've gone over a million times already. Will it, will it happen that quickly? It'll be tough. It'd be very, very tough.
00:54:33
Speaker 2: He's hitting like all jump shots in the preseason, which would be great if he turns out to actually be a jump shooter. But he seems to me a guy who's going to be a rim pressure dunk machine, uh, when he is at his fully formed self. So if the jumper ends up being real, Even better for Chicago.
00:54:50
Speaker 1: Oh, hell yeah. Hell yeah. And did you slip it in there? You think Giddey will lead the team in scoring?
00:54:55
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:54:55
Speaker 1: Like you said?
00:54:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, I do.
00:54:57
Speaker 2: I don't think that's a given. Not a given.
00:54:59
Speaker 1: Especially with the way Caleb plays. Okay, Caleb Wilson is going to look great on a graphic, man.
00:55:04
Speaker 3: Thank you.
00:55:04
Speaker 1: He's a cool-looking guy, too. But is he the right rookie to select in this experiment?
00:55:12
Speaker 4: Which one are you talking? You're talking.
00:55:15
Speaker 2: Debonzer, Peterson, or the Boozer. Boozer would be the one.
00:55:20
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's going to score. He'll probably lead that team in scoring.
00:55:23
Speaker 1: I think he could lead that team, yeah, from day one.
00:55:26
Speaker 6: Yeah.
00:55:26
Speaker 1: Because it's, you know, no offense to Ty Jerome or, you know, Cedric Coward is, what, he's a second-year player and all that, but I don't know, it might be Cam's team right away.
00:55:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
00:55:37
Speaker 4: I'm not comfortable taking rookies as all-stars. It doesn't happen very often.
00:55:41
Speaker 2: It rarely happens. Very rarely happens.
00:55:42
Speaker 4: What was the last one?
00:55:45
Speaker 2: Is it still Blake Griffin?
00:55:45
Speaker 1: Is it still Blake Griffin? Holy, that's a long time ago.
00:55:50
Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody in between.
00:55:53
Speaker 4: Yeah, this is not going to look good on a graphic if I'm to take Derek White and have two Celtics on there.
00:55:58
Speaker 3: It looks stupid.
00:55:58
Speaker 1: Oh, God, don't do that.
00:55:59
Speaker 2: What are you.
00:56:01
Speaker 3: A beatdown boy?
00:56:01
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not, but I just think Derek White may make it over Peyton Pritchard.
00:56:06
Speaker 1: That's a hell of a hedge by you.
00:56:07
Speaker 2: It's being safe. It's totally being safe. Yeah, I'm going to do that.
00:56:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to do that.
00:56:15
Speaker 2: He's a starter.
00:56:16
Speaker 4: He's one of those guys. He's the Mike Conley of this potential all-star game where you're like, that guy's been so good for so long. Every single coach playing against them says, okay, well, what are we scheming against? This guy's going to come up and he's going to steal. He's going to block shots. He's going to score 15, 18. He's going to have a huge fourth quarter, huge third quarter, whatever. Uh, yeah, I'll take Derek white. Okay.
00:56:39
Speaker 1: Pritchard and white on the squad.
00:56:42
Speaker 2: Weird. All right.
00:56:42
Speaker 1: Last pick here. And I'm turning to you guys, even for some, some names you want to throw it. If you want to even convince me so we can help our overall numbers. In trying to get it higher. Who do we think? Because we're starting to run out of guys here. Like I'll throw, like somebody said Zubats earlier.
00:57:00
Speaker 2: He's on my list.
00:57:02
Speaker 1: I guess I struggle with three pacers. I mean, he'd have to bump Siakam.
00:57:06
Speaker 6: Yep.
00:57:06
Speaker 4: That would be tough.
00:57:08
Speaker 2: Okay, but fair.
00:57:09
Speaker 4: See, how come he's the guy that will be bumped? You know, he's like the forgettable guy.
00:57:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, but he's also, people like, I don't know, coaches are like, he's good.
00:57:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, he is good.
00:57:18
Speaker 1: Okay, so he's in the running. We went through a couple grizzlies. Cam Boozer, I know, rookie, but then coward, maybe tied to Rome.
00:57:26
Speaker 3: Eadie's on my list.
00:57:26
Speaker 1: Zach Eadie, if he plays, but holy crap, because the numbers would be big, yeah. Nikhil Alexander-Walker, is that insane?
00:57:33
Speaker 2: He's on my list. He's a 20-point-per-game guy.
00:57:34
Speaker 3: He's on my list, too. Okay.
00:57:37
Speaker 1: Who else?
00:57:37
Speaker 2: Who else?
00:57:37
Speaker 4: I think Con Canipple should be considered.
00:57:41
Speaker 1: Considered?
00:57:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, considered.
00:57:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, because there's a chance Brandon Miller gets hurt again, too. I don't want to play that card. Brandon Miller's the guy that would be my pick.
00:57:53
Speaker 2: Guys who I haven't said yet, Donovan Klingin.
00:57:57
Speaker 1: Okay, I like him.
00:57:58
Speaker 2: Kobe White, probably too deep.
00:58:00
Speaker 1: Aaron Gordon. I see Aaron Gordon, to me, is like the OG sort of pick, where he could be an injury replacement. Aaron's like, respect him. Respect to A.G. Get him in there. But he'd have to score like 18, 19 at least, right?
00:58:13
Speaker 3: Yes.
00:58:14
Speaker 1: There's a certain floor.
00:58:15
Speaker 4: C.J.
00:58:16
Speaker 1: McCollum. Whoa, that's a real salute.
00:58:20
Speaker 2: Exactly. You've been around for a long time. This would be the owners thanking him for the second apron.
00:58:26
Speaker 3: Thanks, man.
00:58:26
Speaker 2: You're saving us so much money. And A.J. Mitchell. But that would be like J-Dub gets hurt again, and he's got to play, and he's the second leading scorer for the Thunder.
00:58:36
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:58:37
Speaker 1: And then Desmond Bain we did say earlier, but that's tough with three magic. Oh, where do I go? I can't say I love any of these.
00:58:44
Speaker 2: Booz Ellis is still out there.
00:58:45
Speaker 1: Booz Ellis is still out there, but you know what?
00:58:47
Speaker 2: McDaniels, Jaden.
00:58:49
Speaker 4: Jaden McDaniels.
00:58:51
Speaker 2: Jonathan Kaminka? Yeah.
00:58:53
Speaker 4: Oh, it'd look good on the graphic if you do put C.J. McCollum and put him in an apron, as Trey said.
00:58:57
Speaker 2: Oh, God, put him in an apron.
00:58:59
Speaker 1: No, we're not doing that.
00:59:00
Speaker 2: No, not pick at C.J.
00:59:01
Speaker 4: McCollum. I get it.
00:59:02
Speaker 1: No, I'm taking Cam Boozer. Our first rookie all-star since... Is it confirmed, Blake Griffin?
00:59:08
Speaker 2: Yes. Wow.
00:59:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, wow.
00:59:10
Speaker 2: Wow, Bob.
00:59:12
Speaker 1: Over the other ones, too. Obviously, a lot of talented rookies. But Caleb's already there. Let's get Cam on a graphic, too. Look, I think the stats will be there.
00:59:21
Speaker 2: I really do. He's very good. Is he the favorite for rookie of the year? I don't know.
00:59:26
Speaker 5: I don't know.
00:59:26
Speaker 2: We'll find out Wednesday. I think he would get a ton of... Credit for the Grizzlies being good if they take a step forward and are challenging for the play-in or the playoffs.
00:59:35
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why he's, I think, a legitimate consideration over even DeBansa because of all the Wizards that are there and Darren Peterson because of all the Jazz that are there.
00:59:44
Speaker 2: Boozer's the guy.
00:59:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, could slot right in there as the number one guy, like we said. Okay, so let's go over our teams here. Trey, you drafted first. Your five potential first-time All-Stars.
00:59:52
Speaker 2: My five are Cooper Flagg, Brandon Miller, OG Ananobi, Dylan Harper, and Caleb Wilson. Okay.
01:00:00
Speaker 1: Tass.
01:00:01
Speaker 4: My first-time All-Stars. Stephon Castle, Franz Wagner, Peyton Pritchard, Michael Porter Jr., and a second Celtic, Derek White.
01:00:09
Speaker 1: And my potential first-time All-Stars are Austin Reeves of the Lakers, Amin Thompson with the Rockets, Trey Murphy III. We're running it back, hoping once again. And then I'm taking some wild cards here in Keontae George of the Jazz and rookie Cam Boozer. Who did we miss? You let us know down in the comments. Who's the stream team yelling in Caps Law? What about this guy? Like, is there an Asar Thompson push from anybody? I know the number. It's tough to get the scoring. I guess. I mean, it'll be very difficult.
01:00:45
Speaker 2: Anyone else? I saw him shoot two airball pull-up mid-range jumpers, so I was like, cross him off.
01:00:50
Speaker 1: Okay, cross him off.
01:00:51
Speaker 2: Yeah.
01:00:52
Speaker 1: Okay.
01:00:52
Speaker 2: I'm trying to see if there's any other names here.
01:00:54
Speaker 1: We've named a lot here.
01:00:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, we've named a lot of guys here. I think we've named everybody.
01:00:59
Speaker 1: And like to go back to the start of this, it's like how many actual slots will there be? Like four, four said potential first time all-star, meaning like just repeat all-star guys, like perennial all-star guys. And if we're doing this world and USA again, like how many of them are locked up? Now I know we get injury replacements and that always gets our numbers up, but like, you know, all the best of the best are all going to be there barring injury. So it'll be like probably like, you know, four spots here for all these guys.
01:01:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very interesting. We had 28 All-Stars last year due to the injury replacements. But, like, Halliburton's back. Jason Tatum is back. What do you do with the Philadelphia 76ers? They got four guys who have made All-Star teams a lot. Are they going to get four All-Stars? I don't know. Does that mean Jalen Brown is dropping out? Tyrese Maxey? These are guys that you would think are, like, perennial All-Stars.
01:01:49
Speaker 3: I don't know.
01:01:50
Speaker 2: LeBron will be there.
01:01:51
Speaker 1: Wow yeah i mean it'd be maybe literally who knows yeah if he plays he puts on numbers yeah we will see all right those are our uh first time all-stars always love this exercise talking it through that's it for today's show not as long and chunky as those overrunners that's okay coming up on wednesday as i said nba awards prediction time so we'll go through all the major awards we'll probably show you the odds of like who are the favorites we'll make our picks we usually like make like our you know, the pick we feel most realistic and then like a wild card pick or a dark horse pick. So we'll do that on Wednesday. And then on Friday, I believe we're doing the tiers, ranking all of the teams along the tiers. We still have burning questions. So lots of season preview shows still to come. Hit the like button, subscribe, share the show, podcast listeners, five-star ratings and reviews. If you are a fan of the traitors, new blood.
01:02:42
Speaker 2: Actually, you know what?
01:02:42
Speaker 1: If you're a fan of a man farting in a coffin, Come join us at 1 p.m. Eastern over on No Buffs. That happened. That happened on the latest episode of The Traitors, New Blood.
01:02:52
Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
01:02:52
Speaker 1: A guy buried alive in a coffin, camera on him. He was in there for like 10 seconds and he just ripped a giant fart. Now, did they put it in, JD? Was that audio added or was that the real sound.
01:03:04
Speaker 3: Of his fart? I think it was real. Wow.
01:03:06
Speaker 1: It was a good fart if it was.
01:03:07
Speaker 3: It was a great fart.
01:03:09
Speaker 1: A great sounding fart.
01:03:10
Speaker 2: Yep.
01:03:10
Speaker 1: And then he goes, oh God, I just farted. I just farted. I just farted. Like he was panicking. Maybe he thought he was going to kill him, like actually kill himself. I don't know if that's possible, but.
01:03:21
Speaker 2: And die from stink?
01:03:22
Speaker 1: Yeah.
01:03:23
Speaker 3: Well, there were open flames around him.
01:03:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, there were. Yeah, very dangerous. Anyway, we're talking about that. At 1 p.m. Eastern, Nora joins me here with JD in the classic castle, as we call it, to talk about... Traitor's New Blood. Otherwise, we'll see you guys on Wednesday. Until then, Clever Bros.
01:03:40
Speaker 2: You heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys.
01:03:44
Speaker 5: Awesome.
01:03:45
Speaker 4: Thanks for joining us. And remember, the last rookie to make the All-Star Game, Blake Griffin. The last person to fart on a flame, is it Jim Carrey? I mean, it's been so long.
01:03:56
Speaker 1: It might be.
01:03:58
Speaker 2: It's been too long. He's the last one. Bring it back.
01:04:03
Speaker 3: Really?
01:04:04
Speaker 2: For sure. I'm surprised.
01:04:05
Speaker 3: Pick and pay off?
01:04:07
Speaker 2: Pretty funny pretty funny one gotta light a fart why do i.
01:04:12
Speaker 1: Feel like we tried it once like not as a pick a path but i could have sworn that came up on our show once what do you mean uh somebody trying to light a fart i swear to god we did that yeah.
01:04:23
Speaker 4: Oh but not on the show yeah oh yeah i don't.
01:04:27
Speaker 1: Remember maybe covid days and you know things were getting wild during those days i have a streams.
01:04:32
Speaker 3: Massive jar of Bucky's pickled eggs?
01:04:35
Speaker 1: I thought you were going to say farts. Yeah, well, basically.
01:04:38
Speaker 3: Basically, yeah. So that could be part of it. Oh, God.
01:04:43
Speaker 1: So what? Eat as many as possible? Maybe it's like, maybe on Thursday you eat as many as possible and then you come back to just see what happens on Friday.
01:04:53
Speaker 2: A tooth farter.
01:04:55
Speaker 4: A tooth farter. I think that's important. That's important. Because we're not, myself personally, I'm not ready to let him rip it. 10 to 11 a.m.
01:05:04
Speaker 2: Yeah.
01:05:06
Speaker 1: On that note, we'll see you guys on Wednesday. Embrace the day, people.
