Prince’s genius lives on through those who knew him best. In this heartfelt conversation, New Power Generation keyboardist Tommy Barbarella shares intimate stories and rare behind-the-scenes memories of life, music, and creativity alongside Prince.
🎙️ Musicians Reveal with Joe Kelley is a podcast featuring legendary and emerging funk, R&B, and Prince-associated artists. Prince himself spotlighted Musicians Reveal on his website in 2004 and gifted us the One Nite Alone box set in 2002 — before any media outlet.
Barbarella offers a rare look into Prince’s spontaneous studio sessions, electrifying performances, and unwavering discipline. As a core member of the Minneapolis Sound, he also reflects on the deep musical bonds within the scene, the emotional impact of Prince’s passing, and the icon’s lasting influence on artists around the world.
Interview originally recorded in April 2016 shortly after Prince's passing.
