KLS_ Books: I'm Grace.
Moonlight & Grace: We're here with the cast of Fourth Wing.
KLS_ Books: The graphic audio cast.
Henry: Hi everybody, I'm Henry, aka the voice of everyone's favorite older brother Sawyer.
KLS_ Books: Well.
Taylor Coan: Hey guys, I'm Taylor and I voice Rihannan.
Jessica Schly: Hi, I'm Jessica Schly, I'm just pronouncing it so you know how to, and I am Imogen.
Robb Moreira: Hey, I'm Rob Moreta and I am everybody's favorite frog daddy, Riddick.
Khaya: Hi, I'm Kaya Frates and I'm everyone's favorite scribe slash writer Violet Sorengale.
Moonlight & Grace: Okay.
Rayner Gabriel: Hey guys, what's up? My name is Rainer Gabriel, and I'm everyone's favorite new yearner, apparently.
Jessica Schly: Yes!
KLS_ Books: I mean...
Khaya: What's your character's name?
Moonlight & Grace: Okay.
Rayner Gabriel: Garrick. Forgive me. Forgive me. Thanks, guys. Thanks. Yerner he he did he say Yeah, there
Robb Moreira: Hahaha!
Henry: I was like, I don't remember someone being named Yurner. That's that's a choice.
Taylor Coan: Everyone knows.
Jessica Schly: You
Robb Moreira: Just... just Rainer in general yearns. That's what he does. He yearns.
Rayner Gabriel: you go.
Jessica Schly: Okay.
Taylor Coan: Put that in the bio.
Moonlight & Grace: Well let me tell you when for Kaya and Henry. What was your reaction when you learned you would be joining the graphic audio cast for the fourth link series?
Khaya: I was so excited. When I auditioned for Violet, they didn't tell me what I was auditioning for. They were just like this think badass young character like Katniss Everdeen. And I was like, okay, I know her. I know Katniss. And my audition was the parapet scene. And so, you know, I gave it my best shot and sent it in and then...
Jessica Schly: .
Khaya: Couple weeks later, got an email being like, hey, you booked it. It's for this book called Fourth Wing. You may have heard of it. And I was like, you're kidding. Like the book that's all over TikTok. And I hadn't read it yet, but
KLS_ Books: Yes.
Khaya: once I was cast, I read it immediately and I just like couldn't put it down. I was so, so excited to be, to play Violet. She's the best. Thank you.
Moonlight & Grace: We fact that you're playing violent.
Jessica Schly: you nervous? Were you nervous?
Khaya: gosh, I think a little bit, but I think I was just kind of like, you know, I kind of thought about it like how Violet grounds herself in the archives where she's like trying to like block everything out. It's like, okay, it's just me and her, you know? And I was just kind of going into every session like, just me and you girl, like we got this. Yeah.
Jessica Schly: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: What about you, Henry?
KLS_ Books: Henry. Okay.
Henry: I had no idea what Fourth Wing was going into this. I came in absolutely blind. But our wonderful director, Scott McCormick,
Khaya: Thank
Henry: said, Hey, I want you to read for this guy. He I actually read for several different characters, but the one that I ended up getting cast for was the lovable Sawyer. and Scott honestly hit the nail on the head where he was like, He's basically a lovable older brother type. Think beaten puppy dog with a scrappy underside.
Khaya: You
KLS_ Books: I'm not gonna lie though with threshing day like Sawyer's story got me more than Liam's story. Like, and I, I was, and I was like, I can't wait for the graphic audio of this because I was like, I had the regular audio and I was like, I can't wait for Henry's version
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah. Sh she was bowling.
Khaya: Hmm. Okay.
KLS_ Books: of this because I know
Henry: thank you.
KLS_ Books: it's going to bring it to the next level.
Moonlight & Grace: I think she's the only one who's heard the regular one. And throughout
Henry: I
Moonlight & Grace: that day at work, every five minutes it was like I was like, Stop telling me.
Khaya: Ha ha.
Henry: No, it was there there were some feelings when I was in the booth that day, not gonna lie.
KLS_ Books: Yeah, it got me, it got me. This one is for Taylor and Rob. How do you prepare
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-mm.
KLS_ Books: to portray your character while staying true to your personality of the readers knowing that they are loved.
Taylor Coan: you know, just like any fandom out there, the fans are so die hard. And it is at once the most terrifying and beautiful thing on the planet. I think if I were to think about what everyone is expecting of me when I get into the booth, I think I would seize up and not and not be able to function. So similar to Kaya being like, it's just you and me, girl, I get in the booth and I just think about how loving Rhiannon is, how powerful she is, how caring she is, how sarcastic she can be.
KLS_ Books: you you
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah.
Khaya: Hehehehe. Hehehehe.
Taylor Coan: How just like completely, how she would like die for her friends, period.
Moonlight & Grace: And it's
Taylor Coan: End of sentence. And that's just what I have to think about in order to like become the character for this book. And if I think too hard about what people expect of me, then I get too far into my head and I don't just concentrate on what's in front of me. However, I think it I I don't know about anybody else's experience, but I think it pays off to just like Have your own experience with the character and to just like live in the character without like
Nora: Wi without
Taylor Coan: getting too much in your hand. So
Nora: no getting too much in your hand. So
Taylor Coan: that's me.
Robb Moreira: Yeah, it's, yeah, mean, truth be told, I probably have the easiest lifting out of everybody, truth be told. I think everybody like dials into their characters. I just kind of roll out of bed and I'm like, well, I guess I'm me again, let's do it. So.
Khaya: Hey
Rayner Gabriel: Ha ha ha
Taylor Coan: Ha ha ha.
Khaya: You
Robb Moreira: So yeah, getting into Riddick is not hard at all. It's like putting on a shirt, you know? It's very simple. I mean, I'm pretty dialed in. But that was also because our director, Scott, I he knows me so well. first approached the role, I kind of asked him, was like, all right, so he's like a young, kind of sarcastic dude. Is there anything else I should know? And he was like, just be you. Be you, but like 19. I was like, yeah? He was like, yeah. I'm like, all right. And that's literally the Riddick you guys get, 19-year-old Rob with those words. So it's actually very, very easy. So yeah, guy that everybody loves is really just me, but like 20 years ago.
KLS_ Books: But 20 years ago
Moonlight & Grace: You still are you
Robb Moreira: And technically and technically still now truth be told I haven't changed so
Khaya: Yeah.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Well that's the best thing about you then.
KLS_ Books: Right? Does
Robb Moreira: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: it make it harder going into other characters that are in the same like tone?
Robb Moreira: it does in the sense that when people then hear those things, they go, wow, you did a really great job, but all I heard was Riddick. I'm like, so it's not tough for me. It's more tough for the listener because they've attached my voice to that character. So, you know, so, so well, and because they've, know, if you've listened to all the books, it's been several books now that you've heard me as this character, kind of sticks. So that's the only tricky part. about doing series is that, you you tend to get remembered as these characters that you've lived in for a very long time. So that I would say is hard. It's harder for the listener more so than it is for me.
KLS_ Books: Understandable. I just had to ask because.
Robb Moreira: Yeah. Yeah
KLS_ Books: I was like, it has to be. Right?
Khaya: And also you are so ridic that you're literally ridic in both audiobook casts, which is So cool. They're like, nobody
Taylor Coan: No literally.
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah, I just realized that that you were involved.
Khaya: else could do this character. I listened
Rayner Gabriel: Facts, man. Facts.
Robb Moreira: Listen, nobody could touch a reddit. They were kind of like why why reinvent the wheel on this one keep it?
Khaya: to the graphic audio, but I want to kind of go back and listen to the other one to hear you be your dragon. Hehehehe. Hehehehe.
Robb Moreira: yeah. I had fun. I had fun with Ahroom. I had fun voicing that one. It's very, very different than what graphic audio did.
KLS_ Books: Right? Whoa.
Khaya: Hehehehe.
KLS_ Books: Yeah, I was listening to it and our friend Veronica, all of you guys have met her, was like, I can't listen to that one. It's not the people that I fell in love with. It's not my cast. I can't listen to it. And I'm like, but Rob is in it. And she goes, yeah, but he's the only one.
Khaya: Yeah
Moonlight & Grace: yeah, we we her and I go back and forth because I'm like I feel like both of them are getting even non-graphic audio because I listened to
Khaya: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: the graphic audio first and fourth wing was my first time ever listening to like an audio and it was the regular one. And we go back and forth all the time. I'm like, you know, it it's not as bad as you think it is. And she's like, no, no, no. Graphic audio all the way. I'm like, okay. She's like the guys.
Khaya: Wow. Mm-hmm.
Robb Moreira: Yeah, I think it's great having both overall just because it's great exposure overall to the series. Just because there's so many people that even now still don't really know what graphic audio is. So it's kind of nice.
KLS_ Books: That's Yeah.
Robb Moreira: To you know for me at least to kind of be the bridge for the two kind of like so it's really
Khaya: Yeah
Robb Moreira: nice that people that listen to the audiobooks see me they're like wait hold on what there's a whole other wait there's another one that exists so it's like there's a nice crossing over now between both audiences so like there's some there I've I've gotten a lot of messages of people buying both Which is awesome because then it's more exposure for the narrators. It's more exposure overall for the series. like it's definitely a blessing more than a curse. I was very excited to see that result of me being in both. Because for me it was just kind of like cool I get to be in both but I didn't realize that I kind of became a bridge of fandom from both sides which is great because I think everybody should listen to the graphic audio people and Equally, everybody who listens to graphic audio should listen to the regular audiobook people, because they're all phenomenal narrators. So, you know, it's a win-win overall.
KLS_ Books: Right. They are? Yes.
Khaya: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Both of them. I mean
Khaya: .
Henry: When I found out was just gonna say, I when I found out that there was a second audiobook, I didn't realize that it wasn't with graphic audio. So when you posted about your version coming out and I didn't see my name in the credits, at two in the morning I furiously
KLS_ Books: ahead, Henry.
Rayner Gabriel: Okay.
Henry: emailed Scott going, What is going on? Why am I not in this? Am I not good enough for you?
Robb Moreira: What happened?
Khaya: Really?
Taylor Coan: Henry, that's hilarious because I did the same thing. I literally I I'm so serious. And he's like, hey, I'll check on it. And I was like, you don't have to check on anything. I'm just I'm just stupid, actually. I'm just a silly little I'm just a silly little guy. But
Robb Moreira: no! Oops.
Henry: Ha ha ha! No only I'm just a silly little guy. I'm so sorry.
KLS_ Books: you
Taylor Coan: Actually he was like, I'm really glad that I double checked that because we they was like we actually forgot to add someone. So they added them back and now they're on their roster and everything's good. So it actually was great that the emails were sent. however, I did the same thing. Ugh silly, silly.
Robb Moreira: God good never hurts to double-check That's crazy
Khaya: Wow. Everything happens for a reason. That is so funny. But it
Henry: Hey Quality Control.
Moonlight & Grace: Okay. So the
Khaya: also makes sense
Moonlight & Grace: next question
Khaya: because there's Anthony Palmini in the other cast and he's also a graphic audio narrator, Latin Confusion.
KLS_ Books: yeah. Mm-hmm. A lot.
Taylor Coan: No, literally. Yeah.
Henry: Just all over the place.
Moonlight & Grace: is to Anthony Palomini
Taylor Coan: It's great.
Khaya: Hehehe
Moonlight & Grace: is in both as well.
Khaya: Or no, just think he's in the single narrator, but I'm thinking he does a lot of
KLS_ Books: Yes.
Khaya: graphic audio titles
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah.
Khaya: also.
Taylor Coan: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Right.
KLS_ Books: Yes, he does.
Moonlight & Grace: So number three, I mean sorry, next question is for Jessica and Rainer. The Imperial series
KLS_ Books: .
Moonlight & Grace: contains romance, danger, humor, grief, and intense action. What type of scene challenged you the most as a performer?
Jessica Schly: The hardest scene was Quinn's death for sure. That was real, real tough. I read it and then listened to the original audiobook because I think Rebecca Saleta is an amazing job and she plays like 85 billion characters, you know what I mean? Like, Kaia is the quintessential violet, but she narrates, she's doing all of it. She's doing such heavy lifting. So I think that that's pretty... amazing of her. So anyway, I listened to that and then an Imogen chapter popped up and I was like, god, this is gonna be just so sad. And then by the time we were doing it, Scott and I had like a really hard time getting through it and it took me a couple times trying to record the narration by myself because it was just so like, you can't, no one wants to listen to that. You know what I mean?
Khaya: Okay.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: We rather be the one crying.
KLS_ Books: Right.
Jessica Schly: Yeah, I can't be having an emotional catharsis. The audience has to have it. yeah, took a couple times.
Rayner Gabriel: I had a I I g Garrick's a lot of fun all the time. But if I if I had to s pick something that was harder, I'd say the romance is was the romance was always the the time that I have to like quiet the voice in my head the most, right? Because I'd find myself like being like, wait. Are we doing are we being sexy right now? Are we doing the thing? And I'd like, wait, wait, no, no, no, no. Let's like let's, you know, what are the stakes? What are we doing? Like, let's just mean it. and you know, when there's a director present,
Taylor Coan: just mean
Rayner Gabriel: it's easier, regardless of, you know, your preference and whatnot. 'Cause like you have somebody to play off. But when I was in there by myself, I was like, just just don't worry about how it sounds. Just believe it, brother. And that's what I kind of try to do, you know? So and like 'cause the action stuff is is super easy. I'm an only child, I have a huge imagination, I'm I love anime, video games, so I like, this stuff's easy. But the other stuff is where, you know, yeah, I gotta I gotta quiet the judge in my head a little.
Khaya: Hehehe.
KLS_ Books: Right. this one is for Kaya and Henry. How do you create a believable chemistry between characters while you're doing a dramaticized book? So like both of you have relationships with either other characters or just friendships with other characters. How do you try to portray that relationship through your audio?
Khaya: Well, for Violet and Zayden, it was quite easy because I was able to record my scenes with Gabriel for Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. For Fourth Wing, we didn't get to record together, but after the book came out, we like met up in person for coffee. And I was like, do you want to ask if we can record it together? He was so down and we talked to our director Scott. He was like, we've never done it, but we'd be open to trying it. And I think that like, we also just kind of had like, we would have like a couple rehearsals, just us, like just being like, just talking through like motivation and like, you know, where we think the characters were at, like before we got in the booth with Scott, because we just wanted to be like aligned. And I think that like every time that we like, Good to see each other, get to hang out, get to talk on the phone and become closer friends. That also just kind of strengthens that core relationship that's really the center of the story. But then also, think just letting the text do its thing. The characters tell you exactly who they are every single day, how they interact with each other. Violet is so terrified of losing her friends, losing her family. And that informs how she interacts with them. That informs how she doesn't tell them things when she should. And also them trying to push her to open up and be more like, we got you. And yeah, I don't know. It's so easy when we have, we've such a great director, Scott. And then also we just have such an incredible cast. And my entire squad is here right now. yeah, I don't know. It's just so cool, I think. With every time we get in the booth, we all, think, probably feel a little more confident in who this person is and just being able to continue to play them and watch their relationships grow from like, you know, the first book, they were all getting to know each other on conscription day. And we were also just all getting to know each other. And now we get to do stuff like this. We've gotten to chat online and connect and... It's just, think made it that much sweeter every single time.
Moonlight & Grace: Some of you have actually met each other.
Khaya: Yeah. I've seen Henry so many times this year. feel like, which is great. And Rob. Yes. In a month. Less than a month.
Henry: Yes.
Khaya: Three weeks.
Henry: well, I mean, a lot of what Kaya said i applies, I think, to all of us. One of the things that I think a lot of voice actors learn early on in their career is to not put emotion into the text that isn't there and let the words actually do the heavy lifting for you. one of the marks of greatness is how simple and easy you can make something look. And part of that is just Countless hours of practice, repetition, sometimes a little bit of self-doubt, and a lot of just finding where your emotion for a character comes from. I mean, myself personally, I also come from a theater background. So a lot of what I learned was how to emote, how to put emphasis, rhythm, tone, timbre. And pitch into everything that I am, not just my voice, but my body, eye line, hand movements, the whole nine yards. So it really just comes down to where do you find your character's voice coming from? And how do you channel it? And how do you let the words guide that channel? I mean.
Khaya: You
KLS_ Books: Just like you channel your powers.
Moonlight & Grace: Hmm.
Taylor Coan: Bring it back.
KLS_ Books: Mm-hmm.
Henry: Voice acting is magic. We're literally trapped in a three by five coffin, looking at printed text made by someone thousands of miles away, pouring our heart and soul into wires and gears and electricity, which is, at the end of the day, pure energy, and sending it out into the universe, hoping that it finds one person that it can make a difference for.
Taylor Coan: Dude, I'll cry right now. Shut up.
KLS_ Books: you
Moonlight & Grace: Wait, yeah, I think it was in an alberta book. He's trying to make us cry.
Henry: Make me.
Khaya: Every time Henry gets on the mic weeping Weeping over here.
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah, he's trying to make us cry. That's what he's trying to do.
Henry: Look, I I I have a goal here and it's to fill my glass with all your tears.
Khaya: Yeah
Moonlight & Grace: I already cried.
KLS_ Books: goodness. And this is why Rob never wants to answer questions after you.
Khaya: Yeah,
Henry: He is canonically he has said do not let Henry go before me.
Khaya: me either. Ha ha ha ha ha
KLS_ Books: me.
Moonlight & Grace: Well
Robb Moreira: Don't do it, because I'm going to ruin the mood.
Henry: Or make it ten times better.
Robb Moreira: You guys wanna be broken and emotional? End on Henry.
Henry: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: Yep.
Moonlight & Grace: So this question is for the ladies. did your feelings about your
KLS_ Books: you
Moonlight & Grace: characters change as you learned more about their journey throughout the series? Especially with you guys throughout the series changing so much.
Jessica Schly: I think the choices that I made helped with our director because he, you know, I don't think he knew what was going to happen in the next book, but like he has more of an inkling and can sort of give you clues. I think the choices that I made carried through, but it was really lovely to see. the soft underbelly of Imogen. And I actually feel like she might be with what she's denying herself, how much she's denying herself more than like, and maybe I'm just speaking out of my tush, but she seems to be denying herself more than any other character, which you'd think she's one of the strongest, but. And not that she's not strong, but like I think if there's something so beautiful with how outwardly strong she is and how inwardly like broken she is. So that was, that was nice to discover that through the text, and just make her more, even more four dimensional.
KLS_ Books: I agree with that.
Moonlight & Grace: Okay. What about you, Taylor?
Taylor Coan: Hmm. You know, when I first read Rihannan, I was just like, okay, she's strong and she's powerful and she's gotta be like strong for everyone. But then I remember I'm pretty sure it was Iron No, Onyx Storm. Maybe it was no, I'm pretty sure it was Onyx Storm. The conversation between Rihannon and Violet, where Violet has been so distant. With her best friend for the entire year. And there's this conversation between the two of them where Rihanna's basically like, Girl, where are you? Like, truly, I don't see, like, I I don't see you in my heart, in my soul, like actually, like you're keeping secrets. Like, I'm literally here for you. But you're not saying anything. But there came a point where Violet was like, I can't, I can't t I can't, I cannot tell my f my best friend this thing. And I think the journey for me f for with Rhiannon is that even though she is the squad leader and she's the like she kinda has to keep everybody in line and But also just be like a warm person to be around. She holds a lot of responsibility on her back. And I'm really looking forward to whatever like spoiler alert for Threshing Day, but at the very end of Rihanna's chapter, she just like lets herself be free on the back of Fierg. And I I'm just like, I need to cap I want to capture more of that. In the books going forward, because she holds a lot of weight on herself. by being a leader, and to watch her just get to like be free and to be like, Yes, I'm on my dragon. I I this is what I was made for, and I'm here and I'm alive. Like it just it blew my mind. it was such a little thing, it was just such a simple thing, but
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah.
Taylor Coan: I was like, this is incredible. So that is something that I hope to channel. In the rest of the books, we'll see what Rebecca Yarroz does with the whole crew, right? But we're all waited on
KLS_ Books: Thank
Taylor Coan: baited breath. But yeah, that that is something that I hope to lean into more moving forward.
Moonlight & Grace: Nice. What about you, Kaya?
Khaya: I think that the interesting thing about Violet being the narrator protagonist is that not only are the like surprise it not only are the choices that she make like surprises to like the reader, like me and everyone reading, but they're also surprises to her because we're so locked into her real time perspective and watching her change so much over the course of these books that there feels like kind of like a freedom in discovery of like her stepping into who she's gonna be. Like I think starting fourth wing, she believes that she knows who she is, you know? And then getting everything that she thought that she knew kind of like shaken up and realizing she's been lied to, the history isn't the history, and that kind of shakes her and makes her second guess everything. I think that's why a lot of people have complaints about Iron Flame because... They think you're like, my gosh, why don't these two just talk to each other? And it's like, okay, you've never been like 22 and in love with a man who like just rocked your world and now you don't know what's happening. I think it's just like all of those moments of her being like, I'm unsure, I don't know what's going on. And then now like on X storm and hopefully beyond stepping back into her power and like, you know, like being like, okay, no, this is who I am. And she's like on much more sure footing, but I feel like. I've really gotten to go on that journey with her in real time and seeing how she gets there and being able to just kind of, I don't know, inject my own perspective of how she's evolving into her through my performance. So, I don't know, it's so fun. It's really freeing to be able to grow with this character every single book.
Moonlight & Grace: Definitely. I mean, I I definitely think
Khaya: Okay.
Moonlight & Grace: Violet, when she starts off, she knows who she is. But then at the same time, she's like, My mom's pushing me into it. And then like three fourths into the first book, she's like, I got this. Forget this. I I I'm gonna do this. Yeah. So that that development was really good, especially because when we're young, we always doubt ourselves and we have to step in. And
Khaya: Yeah. Yeah.
KLS_ Books: You got it. Right. Always.
Moonlight & Grace: even with her doubting herself, she kept doing it and she was like, I'm gonna keep moving forward.
Khaya: Yeah. think she sees herself so much as a scribe in the beginning and she's like, I'm doing this thing because I have to. But I don't think she really like sees herself as a writer. Like really until like Onyx Storm when she's like, someone should step in. And then she's like, that someone's gotta be me. You know? It's me.
Moonlight & Grace: Take my sword out.
KLS_ Books: Right? So true. It's me. I love that.
Taylor Coan: It's me. I love that.
KLS_ Books: Okay, so this one is for Henry, Rob, and Rainer. What was it like recording the battles, the fights, the dragon riding scenes, especially with the sound effects? they like, did you know what they were going to be before recording or did you not know what the sounds were going to be until after you recorded and just had to guess? Henry, go ahead. He's like...
Khaya: Ha ha ha!
Henry: You know when you're a kid and you have a really good stick and your friend has another really good stick and you're in the backyard pretend fighting like you're Obi-Wan and Anakin on the floating panel over the lake of lava on Mustafar. It's kinda like that,
KLS_ Books: Mm-hmm. you
Khaya: Yeah. Thank
Henry: where you're just You're z and you're making the the best approximation to what you know it's gonna sound like, but in your head it sounds ten times better. And you can only hope that what comes out of this little meat tube over here in the front of your face can approximate what you're hoping is a full cinematic John Williams orchestra coming out of your brain.
KLS_ Books: You
Khaya: You
KLS_ Books: I can't.
Taylor Coan: Poetry.
KLS_ Books: Honestly Okay, he didn't
Moonlight & Grace: I feel like Rob should go after Henry now.
Henry: He specifically said in his cot in his rider he did not want to go after me.
Robb Moreira: It's a whole leather dude before me, but alright. I just feel like I give the most like, answers like ever. Cause like literally like, they
Moonlight & Grace: Just a I just
Robb Moreira: just say like, alright, you're gonna punch here. And I'm like, cool. Head, stomach, like where am I aiming? Right here? Alright, cool.
Khaya: Yeah.
Robb Moreira: That's the sound. Like that's all I ask. I don't know what else is going on. Is this like kick here? Am I kicking or am I getting kicked? Alright, where did I get kicked? Alright, all I need to know. Let's go.
KLS_ Books: You
Khaya: Eheheheh
Henry: Did I get kicked
Khaya: Eheheheh
Henry: in the nuggets?
Robb Moreira: I'm very quick, man. I just need to know where I'm being. The
KLS_ Books: You
Robb Moreira: thing is that I tackle it the way I attack video games, video games. When you record them, that's literally how they record efforts. Any effort that you do, it's literally like, okay, you're throwing a punch and it's either and they always do the same thing. It's either light, it's medium or it's heavy. Those are the three that they're going to give you. And typically you do three of each one. So like I have stock sounds already in my head that I've used.
KLS_ Books: Okay.
Robb Moreira: tons of times for video games that I've been in that in doing something like graphic audio is kind of like, all right, cool, like cut to the chase. What's the sound you need? Got it done. It's like going into like a library that's already in my head. And I just tap into those sounds that I know work and that sound believable because a punch in the face is going to sound like one way of punching the stomach is going to be something else. Yeah, they all have their own like key sounds. That's typically how I talk.
KLS_ Books: So how did you react when you found out? yeah, go Kaia.
Khaya: But have a follow-up question. Can
Moonlight & Grace: No, I think it was
Khaya: I ask a follow-up question? But are you like moving? How much are y'all moving in the booth? Because I feel like I'm moving and grooving in here.
Taylor Coan: Yeah,
Robb Moreira: I
Taylor Coan: that's it.
Robb Moreira: move, if it's a stomach, if it's like a mid-body shot, I'm usually like crunching in to
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah.
Robb Moreira: get that sound. If it's a face shot, I'm usually starting a little off mic so that as I get hit, the sound is hitting midway and then I kind of go off. So at least it has that kind of sound. Same thing with falling, like, you know, I'll usually either like... ride the game for those I just realized I just used the vocal term that nobody else is gonna know it means playing with the game the the feedback that's that you're recording at I mess with that volume I either go up or go down but yeah so yeah I move around maybe not a ton again depends on how active the fight is I think the most one of the more actives was that I hate sewing so yeah I moved a lot when I said that that was very active
KLS_ Books: You didn't move a lot when you got splashed by your dragon?
Robb Moreira: no, not really.
Taylor Coan: It was the sewing.
KLS_ Books: Dang it.
Robb Moreira: It was the sewing, that one made me move, it was the punching. Yeah, cause those are big, and they sound like big punches. So yeah, I moved. I moved on those.
KLS_ Books: It was the sewing. Right? Reiner.
Taylor Coan: Yeah.
Khaya: I love that scene.
Moonlight & Grace: Right, Uranor.
Rayner Gabriel: so so I'm a stander when I record. I like I've got my little standing desk and whatever. So I'm always moving. I'm a very physical actor, you know, like on stage and and in the booth. I like
Khaya: theater.
Rayner Gabriel: yeah, yeah, for sure. For sure. and
KLS_ Books: Mm-hmm.
Rayner Gabriel: and and similar to Rob, man, I have a lot of dubbing experience in like anime stuff. So like I I just Yeah, man. I mean, f fighting you know, we do it all day in those things, you know? So so yeah, I they're like the th they do a great job at like describing the fight in the script for you. So you just you follow along and you kinda just like uncork the imagination and just just run and do the thing. You know? Yeah, you ride the game, you make sure you're not blasting it and and and try to stay on mic. But besides that, psh yeah, man. I have a blast with the fights. The fights are like it's Probably some of the easiest stuff to do, you know? unless like, you know, they're like, you you know, you you're fighting with a certain circumstance. Like you're your your hands are tied behind your back and you have something in your mouth, and then you've gotta like make the sound a certain way. But otherwise, you know. I also have so so when I was a kid, I I mean, I still do now, but like my friends and I used to like we we have like training swords and we'd get together and like what When I say kid I mean like up until I was eighteen, you know, like we'd go to each other's houses and like break out the swords and beat the crap out of each other. So so yeah, man.
KLS_ Books: You still do that though.
Henry: A really good stick,
KLS_ Books: Henry does.
Henry: see?
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah, a really good stick. Indeed, Henry. Indeed. Yes, between Rob and Henry.
Khaya: Yeah.
Taylor Coan: Raynor is the bridge between the Rob and the Henry. Yeah,
KLS_ Books: Yes!
Taylor Coan: we're the bridge.
KLS_ Books: I mean, Henry still has his swords. He has a whole collection. It is.
Rayner Gabriel: I do too.
Robb Moreira: The different schools of fighting efforts, the Robb School of Casual, the Henry School of Acting, and then the Rainer School of Bridging the Two. It's a beautiful thing. straight. Hell yeah. It works.
Khaya: you
Rayner Gabriel: That's right, that's right.
Khaya: Okay.
Moonlight & Grace: It's beautiful it's a beautiful relationship. this is for everybody actually the question is if you could trade roles with another member of the graphic audio cast for one scene just the one scene which character
KLS_ Books: One scene?
Moonlight & Grace: just one scene which character would you choose and why henry you go first
Henry: actually gonna say can I go last? Because I know Rob's
Moonlight & Grace: Okay.
Henry: gonna get on my ass if I do go first.
Moonlight & Grace: Well, how about Rob go first then?
Khaya: no.
KLS_ Books: Yes, Rob goes first.
Robb Moreira: Damn.
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-hmm.
KLS_ Books: Right. You
Moonlight & Grace: scene that you it like you really wanted that scene to be your character scene.
Robb Moreira: that's hard because Riddick has some good frickin scenes. I don't that's the thing I really enjoy I really enjoy what I've done and truth be told I don't know Well, no, I know I wouldn't be able to do better what the other actors have done I know I do it different But I would never be egotistical enough to say I would do it better but
Moonlight & Grace: No, it's not that you do better. It's like
KLS_ Books: Just work. you
Moonlight & Grace: a scene that you like
Khaya: Or just a character you'd want to play. No.
Robb Moreira: Yeah, no, I don't know. don't... I don't know. I'm happy with what I got. But I mean, if I were to switch with any character to do any of their scenes, I'd switch with Violet. I mean,
KLS_ Books: Really?
Robb Moreira: if you're gonna switch with anybody, go for the goat, right? She got all the best scenes, hell yeah.
Khaya: That's funny, because I think I was gonna say you. I think I would switch with you. I think I would switch with you. Because you just have a- like Riddick has a lot of really good one-liners, like... Yeah. So I think I'd- I think I'd want to be Riddick. He's just got so many fun...
Moonlight & Grace: the guy.
KLS_ Books: Yep. You
Robb Moreira: Yeah, they're fun. It's like, why would I switch? No, no, I wouldn't want to do anybody's need. Yeah, he got zingers. I'm all about the zingers. Hell yeah.
Khaya: Good thing I F like a third. Yeah, yeah.
Robb Moreira: Right? It was like in it for 30 seconds, but everybody remembers it. I'm like, hell yeah.
Taylor Coan: Well and not just like Riddick was like this. Yeah. Not an Onyx Storm though. I Riddick was my favorite character in Onyx Storm, hands down. I'm so serious. His
Khaya: Yeah.
Taylor Coan: the way he stepped up and became more than just a one-liner in that book
Khaya: Yeah.
Taylor Coan: was insane.
Khaya: That's true. I do love our little chat when we're on the aisles. When you like take me away and you're like, what's the limit? I love that scene. Okay, so we'll role swap that scene. That'll be our... Yeah. Yeah. I just love him! And I'm gonna be like, violent!
KLS_ Books: Mm-hmm
Taylor Coan: Yes.
Robb Moreira: Yeah, that's still my favorite scene. Yeah, that's my favorite scene out of all that we've performed. we can roastwap that. I could be you and be like, I don't know, but I love it. What the hell, Vi? Get it together.
Jessica Schly: But you guys should do something. Yeah.
Taylor Coan: my god, that's funny.
Moonlight & Grace: That's
KLS_ Books: You You
Khaya: you
Taylor Coan: that's funny. I think you know what you know who I would who I would try to switch with, I think. I kinda wanna know what it would be like to be Dane. Just for like, just to like get in his head a little bit more because he's so complicated. Like everyone just loves to hate Dane because everyone's like he's just a master manipulator. But like honestly.
KLS_ Books: Rates?
Jessica Schly: All right.
Taylor Coan: He was kind of like groomed to be the way that he was because of his dad and his upbringing. And like you have to believe that people can change. Otherwise, there's no hope for anybody. So I think that I would want there's that scene where like he kind of has
Khaya: Yeah Okay.
Taylor Coan: to make the choice. I think it's in the dungeons or something, but he kind of has to make the choice of whether or not he's going to betray his father or like help his friends. I think
Khaya: you
KLS_ Books: Yeah.
Taylor Coan: I think I'd want to try that out a little bit. I think I'd want to do that.
Moonlight & Grace: That is
KLS_ Books: yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: a good turning point for him.
Khaya: I love Dave.
KLS_ Books: I like this Thursday
Rayner Gabriel: man, this is this is a tough one, man. so I don't know. okay, so Garrick, it's Garrick's job to to help Zaydan, right? I would love to yeah, I mean, like look, I admire the the Gabriel's performance. I could never, like Rob says, do anything better. But I would love to see what it would feel like to lead, as opposed to just help the leader. and specifically we can we can spoil stuff, right? And from Thrashing Day a little? All right, well, I won't do it too much. so like there's a scene where Garrick gets, you know, attacked and he's helpless
Jessica Schly: Okay.
Rayner Gabriel: and they're like signing at each other and doing all this stuff, and like Zaydan totally saves his ass. And like selfishly, I would love to save my own ass there, right? So like I would love to swap swap out that scene, you know? yeah.
Jessica Schly: You only don't save your own ass because you had such a big growth spurt and you've not caught up with your strength yet. That's the only reason. Yeah.
Rayner Gabriel: That's exactly it. Thank you.
KLS_ Books: You
Rayner Gabriel: Thank you see? Thank you. But but that's it. That that would be the one.
Moonlight & Grace: That's why energy she's e even when you're not in character, you guys are character.
Rayner Gabriel: She advocates for me. Yeah. Thank you, Jessica. I appreciate that.
KLS_ Books: Yeah
Khaya: Perfect pair.
KLS_ Books: Jessica, is there a scene that you would like?
Moonlight & Grace: Writing Jessica.
Jessica Schly: hold on, let me sit up. I'm torn. I think I'd love to be General Soaringale as a mom. I think I'd love to sort of dive into General Soaringale's final scene.
KLS_ Books: Ooh.
Jessica Schly: it really, it hits you differently as a parent.
Taylor Coan: Mm.
Jessica Schly: And you can really, really, I think as an actor, you can put yourself into being a parent. I did before I was one and you really can do quite a great job. But as a parent, there is just that little little extra, you know, realism there. So I think maybe that but again, it's another like sad, I should pick something fun because it's not it's like another Quinn's death thing. So I should I should pick something with levity. But I think that's what I choose.
KLS_ Books: I think that's a good choice because it mean it shows
Moonlight & Grace: Okay.
KLS_ Books: it shows where your heart is to like you would know like as a parent like that's that's what got me about General Soyengal and the whole thing like you don't know
Jessica Schly: Mm-hmm.
KLS_ Books: like you just think she's a bad mom or she's just being a hard sorry excuse my listen a hard ass on violet but in reality she's doing more than you think
Jessica Schly: Yeah, she's doing s- she did so much. Yeah, she did so much for her. And she doesn't-
KLS_ Books: You don't find out until it's basically too late.
Moonlight & Grace: Right.
Jessica Schly: and Violet doesn't know until the very- I mean, it's just like too little, too late, and it's heart- it's like heartbreaking. Yeah.
KLS_ Books: Okay, Henry, we have made it till the end. It's now your turn to go last.
Henry: I wouldn't choose any other character to trade places with. Sawyer's journey is so unique and so close to my own lived experience of frustration and failure and acceptance and self-improvement. And one of the things I don't often share is that I have in the past suffered accidents that left me. at not permanently, thank God, but partially mobile deficient. I wasn't able to use my full range of mo I literally slammed myself down on my neck and my spine to where I couldn't turn my head, I couldn't run, I couldn't jump. I was essentially partially crippled. And him losing his leg and losing that mobility. Is something that is so near and dear to my lived experience that I don't think I could bear to part with it.
Moonlight & Grace: Understandable. Definitely. You guys share a a a traumatic moment with each other.
KLS_ Books: Wow. Yeah, it is. Yep. And this is why Henry went last.
Rayner Gabriel: I get it, yeah.
Khaya: Yup.
Moonlight & Grace: Do anybody want to go after Henry?
KLS_ Books: I had to make it light again.
Henry: Did Rob not say
Khaya: We love you though.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah bro, I'm so
KLS_ Books: We do.
Rayner Gabriel: glad you're moving and and okay now.
Henry: yeah, no. Like
KLS_ Books: Right?
Henry: I've I've suffered so many bodily injuries. Like I couldn't move my right shoulder properly. Like you could literally with one finger push my arm down with me applying all my pressure trying to get it back. I couldn't turn my head. I couldn't bend over at the waist. I had to like I had to ken doll that shit.
Taylor Coan: Whoa. Henry. Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Well, I'm glad you're okay and a hundred percent better.
KLS_ Books: Same.
Henry: Num I I was popping ibuprofen like it was tic-tacks, man. It was not fun.
Khaya: Yes.
Henry: My poor little kidneys.
KLS_ Books: OOP How do you make sad stuff happy all the time? Like you just make us laugh even though it's a sad thing all the time.
Rayner Gabriel: Humor, man. It comes from pain.
Henry: Look, if you can't laugh at yourself even in the darkest moments and bring levity and joy in a place of hopelessness, what's the point?
Moonlight & Grace: True. Very true.
KLS_ Books: True. Okay, so this is a quick, quick answer from all of you, please. How has working on the graphic audio, Fourth Wing, grew you as a performer? Like how has it changed how you have become in voice acting or narrating
Khaya: That's a hard question. I think it's changed me a lot. think it's a really unique job that we get to do with the graphic audio specifically because you don't get that kind of like vocal, emotional range and just a regular audiobook, you know? Like we get an opportunity
KLS_ Books: Right.
Khaya: to really make the characters come alive through the fight scenes and like all of the noises, the tears and everything. And Violet has, is firing on all cylinders all the time. And so every time I get to play her, it's like this like massive emotional release. because she requires so much of me. And so it's like, can kind of like get all of my crap out of my body and like into this character to like make her feel as real as possible and to make her, you know, a point of connection for people. like, that is like the coolest, I mean, that's the coolest job ever to like help. people understand somebody else and have empathy for somebody else, even if she's a fictional character, making her, giving her parts of me makes her a whole person, makes her real. I think she's like changed me in that she has helped me connect to myself emotionally and she's helped me be more connected to the people in my life, what's around me and how precious that is, you know? Just on a regular, everyday level. I think that she's made me a better performer, but I think she's also made me a more empathetic person, a more thoughtful and considerate person too. I don't know.
KLS_ Books: Right.
Moonlight & Grace: yeah.
Taylor Coan: I was just so intently listening to Kai, I was like, Yes, yes
Khaya: Hahaha
Taylor Coan: yeah, this job made me believe that I I could be a voice actor, truly. I similar to Kaya, I didn't know about Fourth Wing before I was cast into the project. And then when I did get cast, I was like, I'm so there. And I listened to the the other audiobook and I was like, Are you actually kidding me? Like, I'm gonna be a part of this? Like, you're joking. So I think that when the realization hit me that I was gonna be a part of it and I was gonna be playing this specific character and just like interacting with this this story, this world that people love so much. Like this is like not to be dramatic, but fourth wing's gonna go down in history. Like this is huge. This is like a big book. And I'm like, what the heck? so I just feel so incredibly grateful that I even just get to have a little toe in the pool of what is Fourth Wing. And it just made me believe that I can do it, you know, like if I'm gonna draw a parallel with the book, Rhiannon is very much like I was born to cross the parapet and become a writer. Like this is what I was made to do. And I always knew that I was born to be an actor. I just didn't know how that would manifest. And like now that I'm a voice actor, I'm like, yeah. This is what I was born to do. so that was just really freeing. And also just on a personal level, Rihanna's a twin. I'm a twin. It's just very personal for me. So I'm like, Quinn, you're like in my book with me, kind of. And he's like, What are you talking about? I'm like, just let it be. Let it happen, brother. so yeah, it's just been an absolute joy all around.
Moonlight & Grace: about you, Jessica?
Jessica Schly: Hmm. I would say, Imogen starting more in Onyx Storm. when I, cause I read the book, but I listened to the audiobook first. And when, when all of a sudden Imogen had a chapter, I was like, what? And I, I think, you know, I was really, really nervous. I almost threw up. Like I called my sister and I was like, what am I gonna everyone's gonna judge me and everyone's gonna hate me. I can throw out these quick, quippy like one-liners, but like what in the world is this gonna be like? And so to try to get past that and get over as much of the imposter syndrome, I do feel like I trust myself a little bit more after this and I don't care as much. I'm not trying to do things right as much as just sort of... do things with the voice acting. feel like there's a right way to do it and I'm just trying to do it my way, which sometimes is weird, but sometimes is great.
KLS_ Books: I think it works. Right? Right.
Taylor Coan: I was like, well it's beautiful, so Well it's working, so
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah. Right.
Khaya: So, so good, yeah.
Jessica Schly: Thank you. Thank you.
KLS_ Books: Reiner, how
Khaya: You killed it.
Moonlight & Grace: Okay.
KLS_ Books: about you, good sir?
Rayner Gabriel: you know, I I mean Garrick and I we have a lot in common too, man. You know, like I I have a big heart and I think I'm loyal. I'd say yeah, you know, it's it's connected to the community, man. You know, I'd I think this book really taught me how how special it is that we as storytellers get to help certain people get the story, hear the story, feel the story, live the story, you know, in a way that I guess I used to take for granted prior. I just never thought of it, you know, that I had listened to audiobooks when I was younger and and still do and whatnot, but I You know, the community's said some lots of nice things and stuff and and and it always comes down to like, you know, you you tell this story and have gotten me through tough times or whatever. And like I contribute to that because I'm you know, Garrick pops up and disappears for most of the time, you know? but the fact that I'm part of it is so special. And like, you I'm surrounded by amazing talent and w wonderful actors. an awesome creative team's got our back. But but it's the the fact that we Push accessibility, man. You know, like there's some people I had never thought what it would be like for someone who couldn't physically read to experience a story. And the fact that we get to do that. Is is probably the coolest thing I've experienced in a long time. And I attribute that directly to Garrick because, you know, he's huge. You know, this this whole book is huge, right? so yeah, I th that that's that's real special. So that's changed how I approach the work in general because, you know, prior to Garrick, I I I didn't talk about this stuff online and and I didn't I didn't I didn't do this, you know, I didn't jump in these these lives and whatnot. I would just I would just be like, Yeah, I I voice act from from the crib, bro. I'm I'm not famous yet, so I'm gonna just keep my nose to the ground and I'm gonna do my thing, and now it's like, you know, every story is like I'm like, like, you know, I feel like I'm a grio around a a a fire and I'm over here like helping tell the story connected to my my roots and it's just cool, man. it's dope stuff. It's dope stuff. So I I I find it very rewarding and I learned that through Garrick. yeah, thanks, honey bear.
Robb Moreira: as an actor, I wouldn't say that I gained anything in that regard. What did change was realizing the impact that I had in voicing the character that I was doing. The thing is, anybody that knows me well knows that I'm married to my work. I work. all the time. And the thing is that that's all I ever really focused on was just doing the work, moving project to project to project to project. And I never go back to whatever I do. Like once I've moved on, I'm on to the next thing and I'm constantly in forward motion. So with with doing Riddick, when I got him, I mean, I was already almost a decade into my career. I'm not at all new to voice acting. But I was lesser known in audiobooks. But when I got fourth wing, I was like 160 books deep. This wasn't my first rodeo. So for me, it was just kind of like doing another project, ultimately. And I actually didn't know how big my impact was until Onyx Storm. So fourth wind came out, it came, it went. Iron Flame came out, it came, it went. I had no clue that people knew who Riddick was. I didn't know if anybody even cared because I didn't really care because I was moving on to the next project. And that's just how I kept moving. So it was funny enough, our director Scott. He's the one that told me what just before I started recording Onyx Storm, he was like, hey, by the way, you know, people are really looking forward to seeing more of Riddick and he has a nice juicy part in this. Like he has like a lot to do in this one. I was like, cool, sweet. That's awesome. He was like, yeah, have you like looked at the reviews and stuff like that? like, I don't look at reviews. He was just like, you might want to look. I was like, really? And he was just like, you should take a gander at what people are saying about Riddick. I'm like, really? He was like, people love you, man. They love what you're doing. I was like, well, that's cool. And he was like, yeah, I don't think you really get it. You should dig in a little bit and really look into what people are saying about Riddick. I was like, And that, imagine, after almost a decade of doing what I do, that was when I was like, like I'm doing something. Like people are. reacting to this like they're it's not just he was good it was just like they're connecting to this character and I and when I made myself more kind of public I did not realize the crowd that I would end up garnering because of this character who's not a main character he's not the main dude yet he there's so much love for him It was interesting. So it made me appreciate my work more because I didn't realize how I was unintentionally connecting with people who felt like Riddick in their lives, who felt like the oddballs and the quirky ones and the silly ones that nobody really understands because they're kind of all over the place. They all saw themselves in Riddick of all the characters. I was just like, that's so cool. It made me appreciate what I do more and it stopped looking as just work, which I love to do You know, I love what I do and that's why I do it. I never did it for accolades or fandom I do it because I just I need to perform But it made me appreciate that. I was connecting with people more. That's that's I would say what would changed
KLS_ Books: Right.
Henry: So, a lot like what Rob said, when I get assigned a project, it's usually you get in, you do the work, and you get out. And With Sawyer, he in the first book he started off as this lovable older brother type, kind of a bit the glue and the guiding hand that helped the other people where they were where they needed help the most, which I resonated with. But the thing that took Sawyer to the next level, especially when it came to my interaction with the community, was when he lost his leg. And when he stopped being able to feel useful, because growing up, I derived so much of my self-worth from what I was able to put out into the world, my what I was able to do for my friends, what I was able to do for my community and for myself. And having, like I said before, suffered those kinds of injuries. I could really empathize with what he went through, but it wasn't until people began reaching out about their stories, about how COVID hit them hard and they lost the use of their balance and they had to have an assistance cane, or how someone lost a limb to an IED. And so many other stories of people who. Lost what made them feel self-autonomous, and what gave them that joy of I'm independent, and that frustration and that shame of having to ask for help. Because that is something that I too struggle with. Still to this day, I hate asking for help because it makes me feel like, what? W are you can't solve your own problem. You're a burden. You're worthless. You're nothing. You're you're a why are you even here? And so much of that same energy that I poured into Sawyer managed to resonate with other people. And it made me so aware of how important, much like Rob said, just the side characters who g undergo. An arc of their own and a story of their own, and how even the most minute of characters can have the most profound effect on a person. And it reminds me of a phrase that I learned growing up in the theater community: there is no such thing as a small part, only a small actor.
KLS_ Books: Mm-hmm.
Moonlight & Grace: Very true.
KLS_ Books: So true.
Moonlight & Grace: So we're gonna jump to the lightning round. And this is for everybody. quick answers. Ready? First question is for everyone.
KLS_ Books: Quick, quick answers.
Moonlight & Grace: First one is for everybody. And all the questions for everybody. Who would survive thrushing day? Who would immediately look for the nearest exit? Henry, you first.
KLS_ Books: Not your character, you. Not
Henry: me?
KLS_ Books: your character, YOU, not your character!
Henry: you mean to tell me I have the chance to have my very own fucking dragon? Let's go! I'm getting burnt to a crisp!
Jessica Schly: Thank
Henry: I mean I I would like to think I survived, but yeah, hey look. No guts, no glory.
Khaya: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Go ahead, Taylor.
Taylor Coan: I'm doing it. I'm getting in there. I'm going. I'm going. I'm flying right in. Let's go. Yeah. I think I would confuse them.
KLS_ Books: Yes! You're not supposed to go in pairs!
Henry: Hey! I'm right there next to you, Taylor. Let's go!
Khaya: Okay.
Jessica Schly: Okay.
Taylor Coan: whatever dragon would be there. I think I would, you know, they'd be like, is that
Henry: We've
Taylor Coan: Is that a girl or is that a guy? somewhere in between.
Khaya: You
Taylor Coan: yeah. So I think I would like throw off and they'd be like, I kinda like it. So yeah, I think I think I'd bond I'd I'd bond like one of the cricky ones.
Jessica Schly: you
KLS_ Books: Right?
Khaya: you
KLS_ Books: You have a green, you definitely have a green.
Moonlight & Grace: What about you, Jessica?
Taylor Coan: Ha.
Khaya: Yeah
Jessica Schly: I would run away. Let's be honest. I would think that, you know, a dragon reads your inner soul and they see all the doubt that I have about myself and they'd be like, so I'd just get out of there.
Moonlight & Grace: Well that you rob.
Robb Moreira: me? I'd probably bounce. I'd be like, yeah, I'm too old for this. I'm good. I'm alright. I'm alright. I don't need a dragon.
Khaya: you
KLS_ Books: I'm too old for this
Robb Moreira: I've made it this far without one. I'll be okay. But, but knowing how my life works, a brown dragon
Khaya: Hahaha!
Robb Moreira: will show up and be like, nah bro, you're mine. And I'm like, son of a, alright.
Khaya: Hahaha
Robb Moreira: So I'd probably end up with one, cause I'd
KLS_ Books: You
Robb Moreira: get chosen.
Moonlight & Grace: What about you, Kaya? You'll probably end up getting both again. Ask Kaya.
Khaya: Yeah, fly or die, baby. think in the past, probably, think in the past I would have been like, I'm a scribe. And I definitely am a scribe. But I feel like, no, fuck it. I want to be a Dragon Rider.
KLS_ Books: You think Right writer
Taylor Coan: Yeah
Henry: Join the club, we got jackets.
Moonlight & Grace: For what you're honored.
Rayner Gabriel: getting a dragon. I'm going in there dolo. No no doubt. It's like, yeah, yeah, I'm getting a dragon. And if and if I die, you know, I'll die having a blast. But yeah, yeah, yeah.
Khaya: Yeah
KLS_ Books: Do it.
Robb Moreira: It's funny, because me and Jessica were going to be by the door, to be like, they should have hung back. They should have hung back. I mean, I don't get it.
Moonlight & Grace: Say you're not
Taylor Coan: Okay.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah.
Khaya: You can tell who the parents are you
Henry: Off in the distance. there goes Henry.
Robb Moreira: I know right?
KLS_ Books: Right.
Robb Moreira: I mean it looks slippery. I mean I'm just saying it looks slippery over there. And these shoes are not meant for it. I mean I didn't bring hiking boots. I'm sure you didn't so I didn't know this was happening.
Taylor Coan: Just like idiots.
Henry: God forbid you roll your ankle. Did you pack your orthotics?
KLS_ Books: So Reiner
Robb Moreira: We're parents, not grandparents.
Moonlight & Grace: the time.
Taylor Coan: I'm crying.
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-hmm.
Robb Moreira: Rainer before you go take your trail man- no he got cooked aww
Henry: it's Rainer Jerky.
Khaya: Yeah.
Robb Moreira: He looked great when he did it though like he looked really strong
Taylor Coan: No
Moonlight & Grace: my god. He started off well,
Rayner Gabriel: I'm
Moonlight & Grace: but then he got fried up.
Rayner Gabriel: Gurkash
KLS_ Books: You
Henry: Raynor and me dying side by side a la flambe, looking into each other's eyes.
Rayner Gabriel: W with just the thumb up still like cooked, you know, just you know.
Henry: Just two thumbs up.
Khaya: Yeah
Taylor Coan: Meanwhile, Kyar and I are f soarin', dude. We are in the sky
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah, no, I'm still getting a dragon. You guys are talking trash. I'm I'm on one. I'll be like, yo guys, it's not that hard.
Henry: Yeah.
Khaya: We swap shoes, we're already on the other side
Moonlight & Grace: Hey where's the
Khaya: of the parapet.
Taylor Coan: Yeah, yeah, like we're there.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Look, you guys can definitely tell you guys are perfect for each other. You're like, right or
Rayner Gabriel: Mm-hmm.
Moonlight & Grace: not, let's go.
Taylor Coan: Let us go.
KLS_ Books: this one is if your character could have a modern day job, what would it be? Ryan or go?
Rayner Gabriel: man, I feel like I'd be a basketball player.
Taylor Coan: I love that.
KLS_ Books: I didn't see that one coming. Okay. yeah. You
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah yeah, I just feel like 'cause he's a teammate, but he's tall. You know what I'm saying? And he's like physically fit. Yeah, you know, yeah. I feel like he'd just be like, this is money, bro. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: that's true.
Khaya: Yeah. Nix in 5, bro!
Moonlight & Grace: Do you know what? See that? I see I can totally see that. You can put into Michael Jordan.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah. I mean that or mercenary, but that just sounds brutal. I mean, maybe not j Pippin, bro, you know, yeah. Yeah.
KLS_ Books: Taylor.
Taylor Coan: Rannon's giving like CEO. Like sh like she's CEO of like maybe not Fortune 500, but she's doing the ethical business. Like she's trying to do business as ethical as possible. And she runs a tight ship. But
Moonlight & Grace: Ooh. Mm-hmm.
KLS_ Books: yes
Taylor Coan: I think she'd be CEO.
KLS_ Books: right
Moonlight & Grace: Can see that. Totally see that.
KLS_ Books: Rob I don't even know what we're out to do
Robb Moreira: DJ.
KLS_ Books: but yes
Moonlight & Grace: You got no
Taylor Coan: You should.
Khaya: Yeah, that makes so much sense
Taylor Coan: Go.
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah,
KLS_ Books: Have you
Moonlight & Grace: I can totally see you.
KLS_ Books: have you seen any of sir Riddick's conducting videos for Riddick Yes, yes, that's all
Robb Moreira: like the biz guy chorus or whatever? Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: I see now
Khaya: This guy at the car
KLS_ Books: Have you not seen them
Khaya: No!
Robb Moreira: It's like, it's like orchestral
Taylor Coan: Yes, I'm a
Moonlight & Grace: A few.
KLS_ Books: I'll have to send you some
Robb Moreira: versions of like really like wild like hip hop songs and he's like conducting the chorus.
Khaya: I need that. That's so funny.
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah. He makes videos,
Robb Moreira: Really good.
KLS_ Books: Henry, what would Sawyer do? yes. Mechanic.
Henry: Mechanic. He loves fixing things,
Taylor Coan: Ooh.
Khaya: Medic? Is that what said?
Moonlight & Grace: Really?
Khaya: mechanic.
Henry: he likes making things whole. He likes being a serviceable
Moonlight & Grace: Mm.
Henry: member of his community. He derives value on what he can do for others. He's got that metallurgy power. And you mean to tell me you wouldn't want a mechanic by your side in an apocalypse, a guy who can jerry rig a flamethrower in 30 seconds flat? Yeah.
KLS_ Books: Yeah!
Moonlight & Grace: That is so true.
Khaya: Thank
Moonlight & Grace: That is so true.
KLS_ Books: It's so true!
Henry: Sorry would be a mechanic.
Moonlight & Grace: Okay, we're keeping Sawyer.
KLS_ Books: He's so w- We're always keeping Sawyer,
Khaya: you.
KLS_ Books: he's never going anywhere!
Moonlight & Grace: Well, if especially if it's a mechanic, we're definitely keeping
Khaya: Okay.
Moonlight & Grace: him.
KLS_ Books: Jessica Jessica what would it be? Right
Moonlight & Grace: What about you? What about you, Jessica?
Jessica Schly: I'm going back and forth between a couple things because if she's not a dragon rider, she didn't ever want to be a dragon rider. When her family was trying to teach her about it, she was not
Khaya: .
Jessica Schly: paying attention because she was just not going to do that. So I feel like she'd be something really badass, like you do it yourself, like a tattoo artist, where she can get to express a lot of her individuality with her pink hair and her great haircut
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-hmm.
Khaya: Ooh.
Jessica Schly: But like also, I don't care and I'm just sort of doing my own thing.
KLS_ Books: I can see that 100 %
Moonlight & Grace: No, I totally can see her. You are so right. I I feel like now I can see her doing that. That she needs to be in the fourth book as she needs to be putting someone's tattoo on in four in the fourth book.
Taylor Coan: Yeah.
Khaya: you
KLS_ Books: Kyle what was violet do right?
Taylor Coan: Dude, I'd I'd get it done.
Khaya: I think Violet would be a librarian.
Moonlight & Grace: President.
KLS_ Books: I was gonna say Yeah
Khaya: You say president? President? I'd know. think she would be a librarian during the week. And I think she would be like a spin class instructor on the weekends. Because she's got to have something to like get out a little bit of rage. She's going to be like, you will not die today.
Moonlight & Grace: I said president. All right.
Khaya: 10 more seconds like yeah that would be fun that would be fun for her too yeah I feel like she would definitely be a librarian during the week though because I think she's if she wasn't a writer she'd be a scribe but I think that she has like a scrappiness and like probably some rage that she needs to like get out every now and then spin class
Jessica Schly: roller derby.
Taylor Coan: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Love that.
KLS_ Books: I love that. Right? Yes. Yes.
Khaya: instructor
Taylor Coan: I like it.
Moonlight & Grace: Okay, again, this question is for everybody. Would you rather spend one day
KLS_ Books: Ha you
Moonlight & Grace: training with Violet or arguing with Zaydan? Henry, go first.
Henry: Honestly, Violet is has a really good core routine, and I've been trying to get them six-pack rider abs, so training with Violet.
Khaya: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Nice. What about you, Taylor?
Taylor Coan: I'm trying it with Violet. I don't like arguing at all. So I'm like, I'm just gonna, I'm gonna run my rage.
Henry: Don't yell at me, I will cry.
KLS_ Books: I mean she She did just tell you to like drop and give her 20 so... You
Taylor Coan: Okay okay, I w I felt it through the screen. I was like, Okay, grandma give you twenty.
Moonlight & Grace: Awesome. What about you, Renner?
Rayner Gabriel: I'm training with Violet, man. Zaidan's so stubborn. No, I'm good. I'm good. Plus like, yeah, you do l like Henry said, we get out of there looking jacked. It'd be awesome.
Henry: yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: Where about you, Jessica? Are you going with your with is it gonna be with her bestie or is she gonna go with Violet?
Jessica Schly: We're doing this as our character, not as ourselves. Okay.
Taylor Coan: Okay.
Jessica Schly: Well, okay, I'd be like,
KLS_ Books: You could do either.
Rayner Gabriel: I answer
Jessica Schly: Imogen would be trading as myself. are you kidding me?
Rayner Gabriel: that as Rainer, I'm not gonna lie.
Khaya: as yourself.
Jessica Schly: Especially if he's not with Violet yet and there's like arguing into sexual tension moments.
Khaya: You
Moonlight & Grace: It's just like I'll take him.
KLS_ Books: Rob your you
Khaya: hahahahah
Robb Moreira: Yeah, just out here like I want an angry sex aiden. Okay,
Khaya: BWAHHAHAHAHA
Henry: It do be hitting different though.
Robb Moreira: welcome to the podcast after dark. Yeah. Wow. Now hell no. No way.
Moonlight & Grace: It is past ten now. All right, Rob, who who who you going with? You're taking Zaid in on?
Khaya: Okay.
Robb Moreira: I'm rocking how I wear violet and maybe that
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah.
Robb Moreira: workout could change after.
Moonlight & Grace: okay.
Khaya: you
Robb Moreira: Just sayin'. Yeah, you know, we're both
Henry: Got them endorphins running, that sweat.
Moonlight & Grace: And
Robb Moreira: a little sweaty, I mean, I don't know. Who knows what'll happen?
Khaya: What?
Henry: Got a shower anyway.
KLS_ Books: Right
Moonlight & Grace: So while it's so Kaya.
KLS_ Books: Okay.
Taylor Coan: We really moved into after dark, didn't we? We really
Khaya: I know right? I'm definitely
Robb Moreira: Thank
Khaya: I'm definitely picking violet. What do I look like going back and forth with this man all day? I don't care how pretty he is. Absolutely not all day Edging all day is crazy I'm hitting the gym. Thank you
Taylor Coan: Yeah no that you
KLS_ Books: You
Henry: Not the edging all day.
Robb Moreira: See, see, that's the thing. didn't say she's gonna stay arguing with him. He's gonna say something off, he's gonna say something off top, she's gonna be like, my god, you're right. She's totally gonna give in, like, you know what, you're right, you're right about everything, Zayden.
Khaya: you
Taylor Coan: Ha ha ha.
Moonlight & Grace: my god, I love it.
Henry: my God.
Moonlight & Grace: Look at any like I'm ready to do this.
Khaya: you
KLS_ Books: Okay,
Robb Moreira: Whatever you say, Shadow Daddy.
KLS_ Books: our lightning round
Khaya: No!
KLS_ Books: okay, well... Spider-man... Henry, are you pointing at yourself? So is Rob though, so...
Moonlight & Grace: which cast member is most likely to accidentally reveal a spoiler from all of you? Who do you think between each other will reveal the spoiler? You know, like Tom Holland from The Avengers?
Taylor Coan: Gosh, okay.
Khaya: I love him. I love my Spider-Man.
Henry: The
Moonlight & Grace: That's a fine. Yeah, I see Rob's finger upwards too. I think Kaya's kinda doing a I don't wanna say it, but it's
Jessica Schly: Is it like we're
Moonlight & Grace: Henry as well.
Jessica Schly: Is it like we've?
Khaya: I think it actually might be, I feel like maybe Rob. But like it would be an accident.
Robb Moreira: The character or the person?
Henry: person.
Khaya: Yeah, the person.
Robb Moreira: So like me Rob no, I keep shit on the raps. Nobody
Khaya: Ha ha!
Robb Moreira: knew nothing about what I was doing. No
Khaya: you
Robb Moreira: me Rob no Riddick. Absolutely Rob no, I don't say nothing. yeah,
KLS_ Books: Yeah.
Moonlight & Grace: No, you as a cast member.
Taylor Coan: True.
Jessica Schly: Is it like, we're saying, so if we've signed an NDA and we cannot talk about it,
Khaya: Okay, okay, okay, okay, I don't know.
Jessica Schly: definitely I would not drop a spoiler, but if once the book is out, I don't think about that at all. So I would definitely say something that I shouldn't say and ruin someone who hasn't listened to it yet's path. But if I, if you know, if I know I can't talk about it at all, definitely not gonna talk about that. Does that help?
KLS_ Books: No. Well, the book's already out.
Henry: I I look I get real passionate about whatever I talk about and it's not my fault that I get real heated in the moment and I do my best
Khaya: I feel like actually yeah, I do feel like Henry might drop a hint just like a little little hint
KLS_ Books: Right.
Robb Moreira: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: He does.
Henry: to avoid spoilers, but if I if I'm just gonna sow the seeds of discord.
Taylor Coan: We're gonna do it.
Moonlight & Grace: so Henry is the Tom Holland of your group.
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah, I'll vote Henry as well.
Khaya: I think the last
KLS_ Books: you
Khaya: event thing that we did and somebody asked us about thrashing day I think I think you were like NDAs have been signed and I was like can we even say that we signed an NDA? I was like I'm not saying anything Henry's like whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo No I know
Taylor Coan: Good Henry, yeah.
Robb Moreira: Yeah. Yeah, because that's already admitting that you're in something. Yeah.
Rayner Gabriel: Ha ha ha.
Henry: Yeah. So acknowledging that you've signed an NBA is is like within your bounds because you're not giving any details about the project. Trust me, I had to look it up because I've made I've I've come very
Taylor Coan: Well
Robb Moreira: I don't even say I'm
Henry: qu
Robb Moreira: in the project. It was like two weeks
Khaya: I'm just like...
Robb Moreira: before it came out, they were like, are you in it? I was like, I don't know, hopefully. Until
Khaya: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: I remember that.
Robb Moreira: that thing comes out, I admit nothing.
Rayner Gabriel: Lock it down, bro. There you
Moonlight & Grace: We were there.
Taylor Coan: No,
Rayner Gabriel: go. That's a stuff.
Taylor Coan: no. And you know what's so funny is because like Rihanna was the last person to be announced. Of like, because you how Rebecca Yarros was like announcing all of the characters one
Robb Moreira: yeah, cause yeah.
Khaya: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: Mm-hmm
Taylor Coan: by one by one by one by one. And everyone was like, Are you in it? Are you in it? Are you in it? I'm like, I don't know, man. And like literally, like, what was it, two days before the act like the physical book came out, they finally announced the last POV Rihanna? And I was like, hey!
Jessica Schly: Okay. Please.
Khaya: Yeah
Rayner Gabriel: Same dude. Even even when they did.
Moonlight & Grace: No
KLS_ Books: you
Rayner Gabriel: Even when they did.
Taylor Coan: I joined the party.
Robb Moreira: Listen that when that Riddick
KLS_ Books: You.
Robb Moreira: when that Riddick's thing came like you know if I'm four you're if I'm five you're four when that drop people are like dude Obviously you're in it, and I was like wow hopefully Cool
Taylor Coan: Yeah.
Rayner Gabriel: You're like
Taylor Coan: Maybe they recast, I don't know
KLS_ Books: You
Khaya: So somebody made a video being like, is Kaya listed as additional voices on the graphic audio? And I was like, I don't know. And then they were like, that I don't know was so telling. And I was like, I don't know.
Taylor Coan: Yeah.
Robb Moreira: Good question!
Jessica Schly: Okay.
Taylor Coan: That's awesome.
Robb Moreira: Yeah, I think it made it even better too because because I was also in the audiobook one so that when it came out people were so confused because they saw me
Khaya: yeah.
Robb Moreira: and then they were like Rob's in it. Why did they recast everyone? What happened? And I'm like
Jessica Schly: .
KLS_ Books: Yes
Robb Moreira: Not the graphic audio guys, not the graphic audio. And then it came out and they were like, wait, but are you in the graphic audio then? So what's going on? Did you get recast? And I'm like, I don't know. I'll let you know in two weeks.
Moonlight & Grace: wow.
Henry: The Yeah. You thrive off chaos, I swear to God.
Jessica Schly: .
KLS_ Books: Yeah, that did happen though. I had so many people like confused.
Khaya: you
Robb Moreira: Yeah, I was awful people I had so many angry DMS after the books drop They were like
Khaya: You
Robb Moreira: wait, know you're in this too. And I was like Once it came out
Khaya: you
Taylor Coan: I didn't know till it came out. I don't know
KLS_ Books: Yeah, and then
Moonlight & Grace: Is this
Khaya: No.
KLS_ Books: Right?
Moonlight & Grace: Okay. This is our last sorry, this is our last.
KLS_ Books: But even the day Even the day that it came out, they give him an even the day it came out I messaged Rob and I was like, my god, I love your chapter so much and he was like, yeah I know or something like something like just yeah sure like he wasn't like yeah, I did that thing. It was just like Yeah, okay I'm glad
Moonlight & Grace: Okay.
Taylor Coan: Today.
Robb Moreira: Rob says nothing.
KLS_ Books: Nothing
Moonlight & Grace: This is our last lightning wrong question. And it's literally three words. Describe the fourth wing graphic audio experience in three words. Kaya, you get to go first.
Khaya: Best job ever.
KLS_ Books: writers like you took mine Henry, what are you thinking? I see that little face you made. What were you thinking?
Moonlight & Grace: Three words.
Henry: ow ow my leg
KLS_ Books: I was wondering if that's where you're going, Taylor.
Taylor Coan: we are cool.
Khaya: Okay. Yeah.
KLS_ Books: Yes!
Henry: Mm.
KLS_ Books: Rainer?
Rayner Gabriel: Epic rewarding adventure.
Moonlight & Grace: love it. Jessica.
Jessica Schly: Movie in
Khaya: Awwww.
KLS_ Books: No!
Jessica Schly: mind.
Taylor Coan: Hey
Moonlight & Grace: Hey, I that's not true. R Rob, you get to go last.
KLS_ Books: No! Rub.
Taylor Coan: That was good.
Robb Moreira: these are not going to be at all heartwarming, I'll say fun. Wrong guy. Fun, rewarding and awesome.
Moonlight & Grace: Make us cry.
KLS_ Books: Just make us go... yeah!
Khaya: Hahaha
Henry: That's my job.
KLS_ Books: Yes. Yay! We all the tears!
Henry: That's four words. Quickly, quickly, cry into the cup, cry into the cup.
Moonlight & Grace: that is nice. Yeah.
Rayner Gabriel: Rob
Khaya: Hehehehehe
Moonlight & Grace: I've done it, I did it wrong. I'm all emotional now. I'm crying.
Taylor Coan: Mm-hmm. Listen, it's it's it's questions like that that really reveals who's good at improv and who is not. I totally outed myself as being terrible at improv. So congratulations everyone else. Super happy for you.
Khaya: you You
Moonlight & Grace: Well, that's why we like to do the lightning wrong. We like to have some questions where you're like, you're not prepared. We're just gonna go for it. Yeah. Yeah.
Taylor Coan: Well it keeps you honest. It does. It keeps you honest.
KLS_ Books: Right. So we are donning to the end of the episode. We wanted to know if you guys had any upcoming events that you're able to share we know you may not be able to or stuff that have recently released other than thrashing day that you would like to put into the universe let people know kaya would you like to take the reins
Khaya: think Henry can take the reins first, please.
KLS_ Books: Okay, deal and ready
Henry: So, if you want to come see either myself, Miss Lovely Kaya Freitz or Mr. Rob Morera, you can find us either at the Blood Moon Masquerade down in Texas on the 25th of October, or the Fables and Flames book convention up in Minnesota on November 4th.
Moonlight & Grace: The end.
Henry: I'm also going to be out in Arizona in December 6th for the Snowed-In Book Convention. So if you haven't seen any of us yet, don't worry. We're just a flight away.
KLS_ Books: Woo.
Khaya: And we have one more together in Ohio. First weekend in April. Gathering of kingdoms.
Henry: Ye that's right. kies, we're gonna be a bunch of nerds together
KLS_ Books: You
Henry: in Ohio. I'm so excited.
Moonlight & Grace: Wait, are you guys gonna go come for Rebelton Realm again this year next year? Plea.
Khaya: If we get invited, yes, I would love to go.
Henry: That all depends on the convention. if you bug them enough and tell them you want us there, that gives us more bargaining power. So please bug them.
Moonlight & Grace: Mm. We would love to see the whole cast of Fourth Wing there. We would try this year too.
Taylor Coan: Mm-hmm.
KLS_ Books: Okay. Right? All of
Henry: that would be amazing.
KLS_ Books: you. All
Khaya: That would be so fun.
KLS_ Books: of you.
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-hmm.
Henry: in terms of stuff that's coming out that I'm working on, I've got a couple different romantic projects that are coming out that I can't say anything too much, but you'll be able to see myself and Natalie Van Sistine, aka The Voice of Nesta, in the Fangs of Fate series. so if you are if you're a fan of dragons, vampires, and fairies all wrapped into one, be sure to keep an eye and an ear out for that one.
KLS_ Books: Okay.
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-hmm.
Khaya: Hmm.
Moonlight & Grace: We're actually talking to you guys on Book Talk After Dark.
KLS_ Books: You're joking.
Henry: Yes, it's gonna be so much fun.
Moonlight & Grace: Yeah.
KLS_ Books: I like, just listened to that book. Now I get to listen again.
Taylor Coan: okay. So I am speaking of graphic audio productions,
Moonlight & Grace: about you, Taylor?
KLS_ Books: Nerd. Yeah.
Taylor Coan: I am going to be a part of Blood Air, which is a Kate Daniels novel. If you're familiar with Kate Daniels, it is an offshoot series featuring Julie, who is sort of renamed. in this series, if you know anything about Kate Daniels, a lot goes on in those books. So anyway, I get to head that project and be the lead ne first person narrator and role in that. So I'm really, really excited about that. there's a
Moonlight & Grace: Comprehensive engines.
Taylor Coan: thank you so much. Super pumped. there's a couple other things that I can't get too deep into, but just keep following on socials and I'll be posting all about my exploits. all over like Instagram and TikTok, things like that. So very excited to share things as I'm allowed to share them.
KLS_ Books: Wait,
Rayner Gabriel: well, I got some cool books coming out. Kai and I have a book coming out on Halloween. yeah, it's it's called Till Blood Do His Part.
Khaya: Yes!
Taylor Coan: Hey.
Rayner Gabriel: It's a vampire romance. It's gonna be a lot of fun. and what what just came out? The Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac. that's a graphic audio title that just came out. Yeah, I'm I'm Gabriel Knox in that. yeah, the I'm I'm I'm gonna be like in everyone's ear, like starting now. So yeah, that's gonna be a blast.
Khaya: You
Moonlight & Grace: Nice. What about
KLS_ Books: I cannot wait. I
Rayner Gabriel: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
KLS_ Books: my ear canal to have more rainer.
Moonlight & Grace: What about you, Rob?
Robb Moreira: Most recently, had two lit RPG series drop books that I worked on. One is called The Fractured Tower. Book two just came out of that one, as well as Worldwalker, which is part of the Victor of Tucson series. That's book 11 that just dropped. I also released The Last Ronin, which I had the pleasure of being able to voice characters from my childhood, which was freaking awesome.
Moonlight & Grace: Love that.
Robb Moreira: That was probably one of my favorite projects of the year. And then under my pseudo, I just had a release called Small Town Big Storm. It is from a series called The Home Ice Heroes by Elise Faber. And it's a hockey player that comes back to his small hometown and he happens to find out he has a child. And the romance sparks back up with her mama. So yeah.
KLS_ Books: Ooh.
Moonlight & Grace: Mm-hmm.
Khaya: Cool.
Jessica Schly: This book just came out, Threshing Day.
Khaya: you
Jessica Schly: Rain of Shadows and Endings Part 2 came out like two weeks ago, which I thought was
Moonlight & Grace: Well no
Jessica Schly: good. And then we also very recently had Zodiac Academy come out. And then I am working on a bunch of really cool books.
KLS_ Books: Okay, would you like to close us out on that? Henry.
Khaya: yes. as Rainer said, we have a coming out on Halloween. And I also just finished recording a space sci-fi romance called By the Light of the Stars, which is really cool, which I think is coming out in December. and I'm also working on book eight in the Mercy Thompson series for graphic audio, Fire Touched. So recording that tonight. Night shift. So yeah, a lot of fun things coming up soon.
KLS_ Books: Ooh.
Moonlight & Grace: Nice. It sounds like a plan. You guys got a good deal going on. For all of us, we get to listen to you.
KLS_ Books: Yes. Henry, what else were you going to say?
Henry: I was actually gonna say because Kaya actually reminded it me of it unintentionally, I will be starring in my very first graphic audio narration role in the Sun Eater saga.
Moonlight & Grace: Congratulations, yeah.
Henry: So it is a currently books one and two are in production, and I will you you'll be able to see hear me as a wonderful British man in the far-flung reaches of space.

Jessica Schly: I know.
Khaya: Same!
Henry: It's fun to be nerds together.
Moonlight & Grace: Yes. I know that's the best part that we can nerd out together and and you know, enjoy it being nerds.
Jessica Schly: Yeah.
Taylor Coan: Yeah. So good.
