00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:02.799
We want to say thank you very much, Mac, for being here and being part of this.
00:00:03.359 --> 00:00:04.559
Appreciate that beyond delete.
00:00:05.200 --> 00:00:06.160
It could be a sideshow.
00:00:06.959 --> 00:00:08.640
Yes, definitely going to be a sideshow.
00:00:08.880 --> 00:00:11.599
Actually, that's not a bad way to describe this episode.
00:00:12.400 --> 00:00:13.359
That's a good idea.
00:00:13.759 --> 00:00:15.199
Modeling insanity sideshow.
00:00:15.519 --> 00:00:17.839
The modeling insanity podcast sideshow.
00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:18.800
I like it.
00:00:19.039 --> 00:00:19.760
Write that down.
00:00:20.079 --> 00:00:21.679
Actually, let's use the real podcast name.
00:00:21.839 --> 00:00:22.640
Model Car Mania.
00:00:22.960 --> 00:00:23.120
Yes.
00:00:23.760 --> 00:00:24.399
What did I say?
00:00:24.879 --> 00:00:25.679
Same thing I said.
00:00:26.239 --> 00:00:27.359
Modeling Sanity.
00:00:28.160 --> 00:00:29.440
Oh well.
00:00:36.399 --> 00:00:44.320
Welcome to Model Car Mania, a modeling and sanity productions podcast dedicated to everything automotive and car modeling.
00:00:44.560 --> 00:00:47.759
Here are the hosts of the Model Car Mania Podcast.
00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:53.840
BG, Jason Hanscomb, Justin Ryan, Mike Outlaw, and Jody Doyle.
00:01:02.880 --> 00:01:07.200
Hello and welcome to Model Car Mania Podcast Sideshow episode.
00:01:07.359 --> 00:01:08.239
This is your friend Mr.
00:01:08.319 --> 00:01:10.879
BG, along with some other guys that we're going to be introducing here.
00:01:11.120 --> 00:01:12.799
Uh, first off, we're going to be talking to Mr.
00:01:12.879 --> 00:01:14.000
Jodie Doyle.
00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:15.599
Welcome back, everybody.
00:01:15.760 --> 00:01:17.920
It seems that we were just here not long ago.
00:01:18.400 --> 00:01:18.959
Right.
00:01:19.519 --> 00:01:21.040
Also, I'd like to say hello to Mr.
00:01:21.120 --> 00:01:22.319
Justin Ryan.
00:01:23.280 --> 00:01:24.560
Hey, everybody.
00:01:24.799 --> 00:01:26.079
I don't like the sound of that.
00:01:26.239 --> 00:01:29.439
And then also like to say hello to Mr.
00:01:29.599 --> 00:01:30.799
Jason Hanscom.
00:01:31.519 --> 00:01:33.359
Wow, you guys are back so soon.
00:01:33.599 --> 00:01:34.480
And of course, Mr.
00:01:34.640 --> 00:01:35.760
Mikey the Outlaw.
00:01:35.840 --> 00:01:36.640
Welcome back, Mike.
00:01:36.879 --> 00:01:37.200
Thank you.
00:01:37.280 --> 00:01:39.040
I got my Copenhagen and Coors Light.
00:01:39.120 --> 00:01:39.840
I'm ready to go.
00:01:40.000 --> 00:01:40.480
Right on.
00:01:42.719 --> 00:01:45.519
Glad to see you weren't detained for too long this time.
00:01:46.079 --> 00:01:46.719
This time.
00:01:47.280 --> 00:01:49.920
They actually didn't get the power back on that night until 10 o'clock.
00:01:50.079 --> 00:01:51.280
Uh at Lisa came back though.
00:01:51.359 --> 00:01:52.879
And then finally, we have Mr.
00:01:52.959 --> 00:01:57.120
Mac Johnston who's going to be talking to us about a local show that he's running.
00:01:57.359 --> 00:02:06.959
But first, we want to say thank you all to our listeners and for the persons that work on Facebook and all that kind of jazz because we appreciate that beyond the words that I can say right now.
00:02:07.280 --> 00:02:09.280
All right, let's go ahead and hand it over to Mr.
00:02:09.439 --> 00:02:09.919
Jason.
00:02:10.639 --> 00:02:11.280
Go ahead, buddy.
00:02:11.520 --> 00:02:12.719
Oh thank you, sir.
00:02:12.960 --> 00:02:15.759
So, Mac, I'm happy that you were able to join us tonight.
00:02:15.919 --> 00:02:17.599
You and I know each other pretty well.
00:02:17.680 --> 00:02:21.439
Uh, I met you through the Classic Plastic Model Club.
00:02:21.680 --> 00:02:27.039
Um, but tell me a little bit about yourself and your other club that you're involved with.
00:02:27.360 --> 00:02:33.199
I'm currently the president of the uh Grant Estate Modelist Club out of Nashville, New Hampshire.
00:02:33.439 --> 00:02:37.039
Also the head judge or pincushion if things go wrong.
00:02:37.280 --> 00:02:46.080
We are having our 33rd Granite Con show in uh Ware, New Hampshire on October 18th this year.
00:02:46.319 --> 00:02:46.879
Cool.
00:02:47.120 --> 00:02:51.120
We've tried to uh make it bigger, better each year.
00:02:51.280 --> 00:02:52.400
We're bigger this year.
00:02:52.639 --> 00:02:59.919
We're in the school that we were last year, but we've been able to move to the gym for more room, better lighting, wider aisles.
00:03:00.159 --> 00:03:00.560
Nice.
00:03:00.719 --> 00:03:04.719
And uh I think everybody should be happier with it as far as the layout.
00:03:04.800 --> 00:03:07.120
We got a brand new PA system we just bought.
00:03:07.280 --> 00:03:13.120
So yeah, we've tried to cater to some of the needs of the concerns we've heard from the modelers.
00:03:13.439 --> 00:03:14.240
That's wonderful.
00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:25.360
So I do I have to say, a year ago, this not last year's show, maybe the year before, us car guys came to you and said that there weren't quite enough car categories.
00:03:25.599 --> 00:03:25.919
Right.
00:03:26.240 --> 00:03:28.800
And you guys were more than accommodating.
00:03:28.879 --> 00:03:33.120
You like created two or three new car categories for us, correct?
00:03:33.280 --> 00:03:37.840
So you're you you are open to change and making things better.
00:03:38.000 --> 00:03:39.439
So that's fantastic.
00:03:39.759 --> 00:03:46.639
Well, I I want to make the show as big as we can make it, um, and still be able to fairly judge it the best we can.
00:03:46.800 --> 00:04:00.240
I also build automobiles other than armor, but I met with a couple of the people from the classic club, and I said, what can we do to make this better and get more people to have an option to go to or you know, a different show?
00:04:00.400 --> 00:04:03.360
Um, we sat down with the Denzas and uh a couple of the others.
00:04:03.439 --> 00:04:07.599
We came up with some different classes, we tweaked the stuff around so we could do that.
00:04:07.840 --> 00:04:14.000
And uh last year we've added a couple more that Classic uses to try to give them an option.
00:04:14.319 --> 00:04:16.160
And uh I'm willing to try it.
00:04:16.319 --> 00:04:21.199
The worst thing that'll happen is nobody puts anything in that class and it goes away, and we'll try something different.
00:04:21.439 --> 00:04:21.839
Right.
00:04:22.079 --> 00:04:22.800
That's really good.
00:04:22.959 --> 00:04:30.399
There's been not all IPMS chapters are open to change like that, and that's fantastic that you guys are.
00:04:30.560 --> 00:04:34.399
Um, so you you let's talk a little bit about yourself for a second.
00:04:34.480 --> 00:04:36.879
You you said you build cars and armor.
00:04:37.040 --> 00:04:40.720
Uh, what's what style of armor are you mostly building right now?
00:04:41.040 --> 00:04:43.519
I like World War II, World War I.
00:04:43.839 --> 00:04:48.160
Anything it's not mainstream and it's ugly and different.
00:04:48.399 --> 00:04:48.879
Nice.
00:04:49.120 --> 00:04:53.839
The people that like to do the Shermans, the Panzer Fours, things like that, they do them very well.
00:04:54.480 --> 00:04:57.199
I've always tried to do something different.
00:04:57.360 --> 00:05:00.560
I might not be able to make as many as they do in a show.
00:05:00.720 --> 00:05:07.920
It might take me a year or two just to do one, but I'm kind of known for what'd you bring this year, you know, when I go to some of the shows.
00:05:08.000 --> 00:05:12.720
So it kind of feels good, but I don't want to do the same thing everybody else does.
00:05:12.879 --> 00:05:13.680
Yeah, cool.
00:05:13.920 --> 00:05:14.319
That's good.
00:05:14.720 --> 00:05:15.040
That's good.
00:05:15.279 --> 00:05:18.319
How long have you been president of the IPMS chapter?
00:05:18.560 --> 00:05:22.800
I think around 2014 is when I got elected in.
00:05:23.279 --> 00:05:23.680
Wow.
00:05:23.920 --> 00:05:28.079
So, and I've been the head judge for about a year longer than that.
00:05:28.319 --> 00:05:29.199
Holy smokes.
00:05:29.439 --> 00:05:29.759
Okay.
00:05:30.399 --> 00:05:31.759
That was a two-day warning.
00:05:31.920 --> 00:05:40.079
One of the gentlemen lost his father two days before the show, and I got a phone call from the board, and they're like, We'd like you to be the head judge.
00:05:40.240 --> 00:05:41.040
It's like, what?
00:05:41.279 --> 00:05:42.240
Here I am.
00:05:42.959 --> 00:05:45.360
You are still too good of a job.
00:05:45.439 --> 00:05:47.199
You're still on, you're still on uh staff.
00:05:47.360 --> 00:05:48.720
Nobody else wants it.
00:05:51.920 --> 00:05:53.439
It is not an easy job, dude.
00:05:53.519 --> 00:05:55.120
I can I could go through.
00:05:55.439 --> 00:06:08.160
I have a good crew behind me that we're trying to do the best we can, and I've had some of them we've joined and or gone and helped the classics to um judging so we could learn their way.
00:06:08.399 --> 00:06:08.639
Yeah.
00:06:08.720 --> 00:06:11.920
Um, so we could try to incorporate it back at our show.
00:06:12.160 --> 00:06:17.199
One of their members has been there each year and helped us, you know, and guided us a little bit with it.
00:06:17.360 --> 00:06:19.759
I'd like to think it's made a difference.
00:06:20.079 --> 00:06:21.360
Nice, very good.
00:06:21.600 --> 00:06:32.079
So, for people that are listening, when Max says the classics, he's referring to Classic Plastic, that's a model car only model club based out of Massachusetts.
00:06:32.319 --> 00:06:32.639
Correct.
00:06:32.879 --> 00:06:33.839
They have a show every year.
00:06:33.920 --> 00:06:34.959
They've been doing it 30.
00:06:35.279 --> 00:06:36.319
Well, I just had the flyer.
00:06:36.399 --> 00:06:37.120
I just talked about it.
00:06:37.199 --> 00:06:38.319
I think they're almost the same as us.
00:06:38.560 --> 00:06:39.759
Yeah, 32 or 33.
00:06:43.519 --> 00:06:45.279
And they have uh 28.
00:06:45.759 --> 00:06:47.680
They average a good 300 entries.
00:06:47.920 --> 00:06:56.160
They do, and they have like 28 automotive classes at that show, so that's a good show to go to and learn what you're looking at with car stuff.
00:06:56.480 --> 00:06:58.000
Not that you had to do that, though.
00:06:58.160 --> 00:07:00.639
You you build you build cars as well.
00:07:00.800 --> 00:07:02.319
So I do some.
00:07:02.639 --> 00:07:03.199
Yeah.
00:07:03.839 --> 00:07:06.399
Would you be willing to come up to Arizona and help us out?
00:07:08.959 --> 00:07:10.800
You're gonna buy the plane ticket?
00:07:11.279 --> 00:07:14.720
Uh I can get you a 25th scale plane ticket.
00:07:17.839 --> 00:07:19.759
Oh, that's a good idea.
00:07:20.000 --> 00:07:32.000
That's I've been able to compete with some of the classic people, but as of late, you know, the the paint jobs and the and the there's a few people that have come along that have just blown me away.
00:07:32.160 --> 00:07:35.040
So I still feel good to be with them.
00:07:35.199 --> 00:07:41.439
I don't feel slighted by them, but there's some incredible talent in that club that comes to our show.
00:07:41.759 --> 00:07:47.040
So as long as we can keep doing it, I you know, I feel pretty blessed that we're able to have that camaraderie.
00:07:47.279 --> 00:07:47.600
Yeah.
00:07:47.680 --> 00:07:54.959
I and I've I've found from my own experience that uh most of the IPMS shows I've gone to over the last couple of years.
00:07:55.120 --> 00:08:02.959
I don't know if you agree with this or not, but the car classes are getting bigger and bigger, and sometimes they're even bigger than some of the armor and aircraft classes.
00:08:03.279 --> 00:08:03.920
Agreed.
00:08:04.560 --> 00:08:08.480
And we're hoping it goes inside.
00:08:08.720 --> 00:08:09.439
Yeah, yeah.
00:08:09.920 --> 00:08:18.079
Um hopefully that I don't understand the Gundam and things, and I know that's a wave that everybody's trying to push.
00:08:18.240 --> 00:08:26.160
If that happens, good, we'll have to train some people, and we have a small group from another club that will judge it for us um that are into that.
00:08:26.480 --> 00:08:29.680
But I I'm a car guy, that's my occupation.
00:08:29.839 --> 00:08:32.080
I can understand a lot of it.
00:08:32.399 --> 00:08:34.480
So I like cars, you know.
00:08:34.639 --> 00:08:41.360
So and if Gundam comes along like they want it to, we'll just we'll work with it when it happens, if it does.
00:08:41.600 --> 00:08:42.639
Yeah, I think it will.
00:08:42.799 --> 00:08:46.799
I think the Gundam stuff is gonna start showing up more and more prevalent.
00:08:47.120 --> 00:08:50.240
Uh just south of us, they've got a ton of them.
00:08:50.480 --> 00:08:56.320
So it's geographics, I'm not sure, but we're trying a couple things, see if we can get a little more.
00:08:56.559 --> 00:08:56.799
Yeah.
00:08:57.039 --> 00:08:57.360
Good.
00:08:57.600 --> 00:08:58.320
Fantastic.
00:08:58.559 --> 00:08:59.120
Fantastic.
00:08:59.200 --> 00:08:59.679
What else?
00:08:59.759 --> 00:09:08.720
So, about the show, what else is should we know and should the listeners know that sets um granite con apart from other IPMS shows?
00:09:08.799 --> 00:09:09.360
Anything?
00:09:09.679 --> 00:09:12.159
Our club logo is we don't nitpick.
00:09:12.240 --> 00:09:16.320
We try we try to be as fair as we know how to be.
00:09:16.480 --> 00:09:22.000
Um, we we rely on a lot of volunteer judges as some of the other one, you know, clubs do.
00:09:22.240 --> 00:09:32.720
Um I I don't want us to get hung up like the color of OD, or somebody has uh an orange on a car that says competition orange.
00:09:32.960 --> 00:09:35.440
I'm not gonna pull a paint chip out and look at it.
00:09:35.519 --> 00:09:37.440
I'm going on the guy's word, you know.
00:09:37.519 --> 00:09:45.279
And I just I don't want to kill it like that because there's enough to look at to try to see how good it is.
00:09:45.360 --> 00:09:50.240
And unfortunately, I say unfortunately, it's IPMS, so we're right now we're one, two, three.
00:09:51.120 --> 00:09:55.600
We've talked about trying to do an open judging, but it's down the road.
00:09:56.159 --> 00:10:01.759
It's just trying to get help enough to do it and have a bunch of judges that are familiar with the same system.
00:10:02.639 --> 00:10:03.200
But I don't know.
00:10:03.279 --> 00:10:05.759
I I we try to be fair, we try to have a good raffle.
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:06.159
Yep.
00:10:06.320 --> 00:10:22.080
And if somebody has a complaint, I try to be found so that in my line judges so that we can maybe answer why we saw something a certain way, and other people can see it a different way, but ultimately you can't make everybody happy, but we try to do our best.
00:10:22.639 --> 00:10:24.159
Yeah, fantastic.
00:10:24.320 --> 00:10:28.320
So I think I would be I have to ask, right?
00:10:28.480 --> 00:10:35.360
I'm talking to an IPMS president, and I have to ask, what is your what do you think about this whole picking models up?
00:10:35.519 --> 00:10:36.639
It's a hot topic.
00:10:36.799 --> 00:10:39.360
So we don't pick them up.
00:10:39.679 --> 00:10:51.360
We offer at the tables, we use some uh like styrofoam dinner plates or platters, and sometimes the people flip them over and set the model on top of it if they choose.
00:10:51.600 --> 00:10:58.080
We would rather see them set it in the plate so you can grab the rim of the plate and slide it around to turn it like a turntable.
00:10:58.320 --> 00:11:01.759
Oh and that way I was still I've been doing it wrong.
00:11:01.840 --> 00:11:05.279
I've been flipping it over and setting it on the wrong side of the plate.
00:11:05.600 --> 00:11:10.879
It sets it up, and if you want it to be seen more, you know, you can get mirrored stands.
00:11:11.759 --> 00:11:22.159
But at the end of the day, if you've got three or four or five that are all the same setting on their four wheels, they're all gonna be seen in the same light, in the same degree.
00:11:22.240 --> 00:11:25.039
You know, we're not gonna pick one up and the others don't get picked up.
00:11:25.120 --> 00:11:28.240
We're trying to look at them in the same spectrum, you know.
00:11:28.639 --> 00:11:33.679
Um, but we if we have to move them, and sometimes they do, try to find the owner.
00:11:33.919 --> 00:11:41.360
If we can't, I got the dubious honor, I guess, of trying to move it safely and not have everybody just sticking their hands in there.
00:11:41.519 --> 00:11:44.799
But I just as a rule, the rule is do not pick the models up.
00:11:45.039 --> 00:11:48.480
I always appreciate when you got greasy chicken fingers to do it, you know.
00:11:48.799 --> 00:11:54.639
Yeah, we like that or sometimes the good wax jobs where the whack the cloth gloves slide right off in them.
00:11:57.039 --> 00:11:59.279
Yeah, we just don't leave the streaks.
00:11:59.919 --> 00:12:00.639
There you go.
00:12:01.200 --> 00:12:01.840
Fantastic.
00:12:02.320 --> 00:12:13.440
I had a really nice looking pen that I had with me when I was doing my judging, and I had my my my cotton gloves on, and that damn thing shot at my fingers like a freaking torpedo and took the wing off of the back of uh off the back of a McLaren.
00:12:13.679 --> 00:12:15.679
I'm like, yeah, okay, that was me.
00:12:15.919 --> 00:12:16.399
All right.
00:12:16.639 --> 00:12:18.960
Oh man, the biggest offender.
00:12:19.120 --> 00:12:22.639
We try to have our members look for the cell phone people.
00:12:22.720 --> 00:12:25.360
Um yeah, instead of reaching over.
00:12:25.759 --> 00:12:29.039
And I had somebody drop one on my model once.
00:12:29.200 --> 00:12:34.720
Um, took a door off and a couple other pieces, and I looked at them and just went, I'm sorry.
00:12:34.799 --> 00:12:39.600
Well, yeah, yeah, god god forbid you use the pinch to zoom feature on these fucking phones.
00:12:39.679 --> 00:12:44.480
Yeah, so you can hold that one ounce phone in your hand, yeah.
00:12:45.039 --> 00:12:46.799
Yeah, it's too bad.
00:12:47.120 --> 00:12:49.200
But we do try to watch that, you know.
00:12:49.679 --> 00:12:50.320
Yeah, yeah.
00:12:50.559 --> 00:12:53.679
This year we're gonna be you know more vocal about it.
00:12:53.759 --> 00:12:57.679
We're gonna try to put a poster up here and there, watch the cell phone photos or something.
00:12:57.840 --> 00:12:58.799
Just yeah, that's a good idea.
00:12:58.960 --> 00:13:00.480
It's not free handing over it.
00:13:00.559 --> 00:13:03.759
So just put, hey people, pinch to zoom.
00:13:04.000 --> 00:13:05.120
That's all you gotta put.
00:13:05.440 --> 00:13:06.240
Yeah, yeah.
00:13:06.399 --> 00:13:10.000
Unfortunately, uh, you do see that a lot, especially with the cars.
00:13:10.159 --> 00:13:16.320
So you get a lot of guys that will they'll actually hold their phone two inches from a car and take a picture of it.
00:13:16.399 --> 00:13:22.000
And I I always side and say, Hey, so why aren't you zooming in on that from back here?
00:13:22.080 --> 00:13:22.960
I'm just curious.
00:13:23.440 --> 00:13:26.799
Yeah, because I've I'm not a techie, but I can figure that one out.
00:13:26.960 --> 00:13:27.600
Yeah, exactly.
00:13:29.360 --> 00:13:31.519
Especially when it just takes two fingers.
00:13:31.759 --> 00:13:33.039
I know, it's crazy.
00:13:33.120 --> 00:13:34.080
I've had a couple of them off.
00:13:34.480 --> 00:13:36.799
Here, use your phone, use your stuff, you know.
00:13:36.879 --> 00:13:37.600
Wait, wait, wait.
00:13:38.559 --> 00:13:39.279
Yeah, exactly.
00:13:39.519 --> 00:13:40.720
It just blows my mind.
00:13:40.960 --> 00:13:41.759
Just blows my mind.
00:13:41.840 --> 00:13:45.200
So what are some of the what what are some of the details of the show, Mac?
00:13:45.440 --> 00:13:46.399
What time does it start?
00:13:46.559 --> 00:13:49.519
You know, theme show starts at nine in the morning.
00:13:49.679 --> 00:13:52.000
Um, we take registration till noon.
00:13:52.159 --> 00:13:57.600
We try to start judging between 12:30 and 1 when we can round up enough judges to make some teams.
00:13:57.840 --> 00:14:00.960
We have the award ceremony obviously at the end.
00:14:01.519 --> 00:14:07.840
We we give out medals because of cost and stuff, and I think the medals we have are pretty nice.
00:14:08.000 --> 00:14:12.799
Um, the best of awards are acrylics or on a wooden base.
00:14:13.039 --> 00:14:14.399
So we we've kept those.
00:14:14.480 --> 00:14:18.879
We just skinnyed back a little bit on the uh the category trophies.
00:14:19.120 --> 00:14:21.600
We have a food truck, got an awesome food truck.
00:14:21.679 --> 00:14:23.360
She's been there for the third year now.
00:14:23.759 --> 00:14:24.559
Nice, nice.
00:14:24.799 --> 00:14:33.200
We got it coming a little earlier, and so far, we haven't heard anybody complain about the quantity of food, quality, or the price.
00:14:33.360 --> 00:14:36.320
So yeah, I hear that mac and cheese is really good.
00:14:36.559 --> 00:14:39.759
It is, but uh how I know.
00:14:40.080 --> 00:14:40.960
Yeah, yeah.
00:14:41.519 --> 00:14:45.679
So yeah, we have we've got probably I don't have a number here exactly.
00:14:45.840 --> 00:14:48.000
We have probably 42, 43 classes.
00:14:48.159 --> 00:14:50.399
We do juniors class, that's hit or miss.
00:14:50.480 --> 00:14:52.879
Sometimes we get some, sometimes we don't.
00:14:53.039 --> 00:14:59.919
I mean, that's a sad part of the hobby that the juniors or younger people aren't getting into it that much, or at least going to shows.
00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:00.799
Yep, yeah.
00:15:01.120 --> 00:15:06.879
So um try to figure ways to and you know get them more interested, but it's a tough road.
00:15:07.120 --> 00:15:07.840
It is, it is.
00:15:09.440 --> 00:15:16.639
Yes, have you have you ever seen a junior buy a snap together kit off the vendor table, put it together, and then enter it in the show?
00:15:16.879 --> 00:15:18.080
Yes, yeah.
00:15:20.799 --> 00:15:23.360
She actually placed with it, yeah, right.
00:15:25.840 --> 00:15:27.919
Yeah, we've we've had that happen a couple times.
00:15:28.000 --> 00:15:32.240
We do a make and take at the show, and I think she beat me last year.
00:15:33.360 --> 00:15:38.480
And I've seen them take their make and take and go over and put it on the junior table.
00:15:39.039 --> 00:15:39.840
So that's perfect.
00:15:40.159 --> 00:15:41.120
We lose a draw.
00:15:41.279 --> 00:15:45.679
They it to me, it's a spirit of the thing, they're trying to be in the show by doing that.
00:15:45.840 --> 00:15:49.120
So we if we have enough, we try to give out even a certificate.
00:15:49.200 --> 00:15:53.519
We've got some sitting around to give them something just for the effort of doing that.
00:15:53.759 --> 00:15:54.960
Yeah, that's awesome.
00:15:55.200 --> 00:15:58.720
So, with more space this year, are you gonna offer up more vendor space?
00:15:58.799 --> 00:16:01.600
You usually got a really good uh selection of vendors there.
00:16:01.919 --> 00:16:05.600
The last two years or so we were there, we had room for 30.
00:16:05.679 --> 00:16:07.840
Um, this year we're up to 35.
00:16:08.080 --> 00:16:08.559
Nice.
00:16:08.799 --> 00:16:13.840
Um, the aisles, instead of being six feet wide, we went to nine feet wide.
00:16:14.080 --> 00:16:15.200
Oh, very cool.
00:16:15.519 --> 00:16:15.840
That's good.
00:16:16.000 --> 00:16:18.240
Mikey, Mikey and I could squeeze down through there together.
00:16:18.320 --> 00:16:18.720
That's perfect.
00:16:18.960 --> 00:16:19.519
There you go.
00:16:19.679 --> 00:16:20.639
Arm in arm.
00:16:21.519 --> 00:16:24.559
Well, me and Jody have been known to hold hands and skip through the aisles.
00:16:24.799 --> 00:16:25.200
That's true.
00:16:25.679 --> 00:16:28.639
Yeah, so we're trying it's a little different layout.
00:16:28.720 --> 00:16:31.519
It's still the the aisles like we've had it before.
00:16:31.919 --> 00:16:40.159
And the vendors are, I think we're this year we're gonna try to put them around the the perimeter of the room, and we're gonna utilize the bleachers a little bit.
00:16:40.320 --> 00:16:44.000
So if somebody wants to sit down, there'll be some sitting area.
00:16:44.159 --> 00:16:47.279
Um we do have some chairs they told us we could bring in.
00:16:47.440 --> 00:16:48.399
I was trying to think what else.
00:16:48.480 --> 00:16:50.720
Like I said, the PA system is all brand new.
00:16:51.519 --> 00:16:58.000
It's it's specified for that size room, so you know everybody should be able to hear something.
00:16:58.480 --> 00:16:59.440
Very cool.
00:16:59.679 --> 00:17:06.640
And uh, yeah, the registration, one thing we're doing, I was part of a small team.
00:17:06.880 --> 00:17:11.039
We're trying to come up with standardized entry and table forms.
00:17:11.440 --> 00:17:18.160
There's a gentleman from the Patriot Club who's done a monumental amount of work coming up with this program.
00:17:18.799 --> 00:17:23.519
So there's five clubs right now that we're gonna offer it on our website.
00:17:23.599 --> 00:17:25.440
We're in the process of putting it up this week.
00:17:25.680 --> 00:17:27.119
Patriots already has.
00:17:27.279 --> 00:17:30.799
So you you print it and save it, you can fill it out, put your information in.
00:17:30.960 --> 00:17:33.279
There's a drop-down for the club you're going to.
00:17:33.599 --> 00:17:37.599
When you put your line in on your master form, automatically populates your table form.
00:17:37.759 --> 00:17:38.400
Oh, okay.
00:17:39.519 --> 00:17:45.599
And when you go to the next show, because it's printable and saveable, you can delete or add models, whatever you want.
00:17:45.680 --> 00:17:50.720
The format is there, just change the header, it'll automatically do it, and it'll fill in your new table forms.
00:17:51.519 --> 00:17:52.240
That's cool.
00:17:52.480 --> 00:17:53.599
That's awesome.
00:17:53.839 --> 00:17:58.160
So it's been about 10 months in working on it, you know, in between some layoffs.
00:17:58.240 --> 00:18:05.359
But so there's there's five clubs right now that we're gonna try it, trying to get a couple more on board and see how it works.
00:18:05.599 --> 00:18:09.920
And we probably won't get a big turnout on it this year because it's new.
00:18:10.079 --> 00:18:14.640
Yeah, rings and wheels, they went with the first year, like about 20% people used it.
00:18:14.799 --> 00:18:17.680
Last year, they had over 50% of the people using it.
00:18:18.000 --> 00:18:18.480
Nice.
00:18:18.559 --> 00:18:37.440
Yeah, so there is a possibility we're trying to be on uh cutting edge of that technology and trying to do that in region one, or and we're hoping even with classic, if I could talk to somebody if they want to try to do that, don't have to be IPMS, it's just it's a program you can download and use it, and it might make it easier.
00:18:38.240 --> 00:18:40.240
It's nice to have a fillable form, you know.
00:18:40.319 --> 00:18:43.599
My hand scratching is just horrible, you know.
00:18:43.680 --> 00:18:46.079
And it's like, how much detail do you put?
00:18:46.240 --> 00:18:51.119
So having the ability to do it online, adjust the text size and all that stuff.
00:18:51.279 --> 00:18:54.559
Yeah, it's gonna be a smaller, like a quarter page, you know.
00:18:54.720 --> 00:18:57.599
The table we think we've got information enough.
00:18:57.839 --> 00:19:07.119
Last year, for some reason, we got embarrassed up front when people could not seem to put down their name or their contestant number on the paper.
00:19:07.279 --> 00:19:08.799
So we didn't know whose they were.
00:19:10.000 --> 00:19:13.599
So this year we're doing the same as another club.
00:19:13.680 --> 00:19:18.000
We're gonna have armbands and we're gonna write the contestant number on the armband.
00:19:18.240 --> 00:19:18.960
Oh interesting.
00:19:19.359 --> 00:19:29.759
You will not be able to go through your judging procedure, your registration procedure unless we see the one of the registrations, you know, watch you write your name on at least one of your things.
00:19:29.920 --> 00:19:32.079
Yeah, so we know something is on here.
00:19:32.319 --> 00:19:39.839
So we're gonna try to police that a little bit so that you go to go into the room, you gotta have your name and your contestant number down.
00:19:40.000 --> 00:19:40.240
Cool.
00:19:40.319 --> 00:19:41.200
Okay, that makes sense.
00:19:47.599 --> 00:19:48.880
Yeah, it's not gonna do it.
00:19:49.039 --> 00:19:53.279
You know, uh you know, one club does a one cell phone call, you know.
00:19:53.359 --> 00:19:55.759
And if you don't answer your cell phone, you know, who are you?
00:19:55.920 --> 00:19:57.839
This is your this is a model, is it you?
00:19:58.000 --> 00:19:59.920
You're done, not getting judged.
00:20:00.079 --> 00:20:13.680
Yeah, well, we we just when you've got 450 models or so, or even more than other shows, you can't always take your time to go look for these people that drove there and used the GPS but can't write their name down.
00:20:15.680 --> 00:20:17.599
It's a cold heart, it's a hard fact.
00:20:19.039 --> 00:20:20.799
You know, dude, write your name down.
00:20:20.880 --> 00:20:21.920
That's all we're asking.
00:20:22.079 --> 00:20:23.839
Yeah, legibly, of course.
00:20:23.920 --> 00:20:25.119
There's two things we're asking.
00:20:25.359 --> 00:20:26.319
That's that's funny.
00:20:26.480 --> 00:20:27.839
No, you're asking too much.
00:20:28.160 --> 00:20:30.720
I've had to chase people down just because we had a question.
00:20:30.880 --> 00:20:36.319
I judges had a question about something over the PA, you know, try dialing the number, that kind of a thing.
00:20:36.400 --> 00:20:39.359
I'm like, well, I guess I could send them an email, but I don't want to hear back from them three days from now.
00:20:39.599 --> 00:20:42.000
Yeah, nail a demon.
00:20:42.240 --> 00:20:42.720
Right.
00:20:42.960 --> 00:20:47.440
It's it's a lot of work to put a show on to try to chase people.
00:20:47.599 --> 00:20:50.000
They just wish they'd write a name or a number down.
00:20:50.160 --> 00:20:51.680
It just makes it so much harder.
00:20:51.839 --> 00:21:06.559
And it's you're there, you want them to be a part of the show, but if you can't judge them because you don't know, and if they place, you have no way to get a hold of and say, look, you know, you're in contention for something, but you know, Casper can't enter stuff, yeah.
00:21:06.720 --> 00:21:09.680
You know, yeah, definitely goes right.
00:21:10.160 --> 00:21:11.200
That's funny.
00:21:11.440 --> 00:21:13.519
So that's a couple things we're trying to do.
00:21:13.920 --> 00:21:14.160
Perfect.
00:21:14.559 --> 00:21:22.160
I so I think I have one other thing I'd like you to talk about, and then we can open it up to more of Jody's questions or or Justin's or whatever.
00:21:22.480 --> 00:21:27.839
You're doing something pretty cool this year for the monogram B17G kit.
00:21:28.240 --> 00:21:31.279
Can you explain what that is that you guys are doing?
00:21:31.599 --> 00:21:34.000
It's supposed to we're gonna have a separate table.
00:21:34.160 --> 00:21:41.839
It's supposed to be a commemoration of, and I might not get this right, either 50 years of the plane's history or 50 years that the that the kit's been out.
00:21:42.000 --> 00:21:43.039
It's one of the others.
00:21:43.200 --> 00:21:46.559
I wasn't involved in the date of it, but okay.
00:21:46.799 --> 00:21:48.319
We're trying to do a display table.
00:21:48.400 --> 00:21:56.480
I we're gonna try and have maybe a prize or a gift certificate for a general overall choice.
00:21:56.880 --> 00:21:57.359
Nice.
00:21:57.599 --> 00:21:59.759
But um, we think right now we've got probably.
00:22:00.319 --> 00:22:02.559
be six of them that you might see on the table.
00:22:02.880 --> 00:22:04.799
So anybody else is welcome to do it.
00:22:04.880 --> 00:22:05.839
It's not a club thing.
00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:06.799
It's for anybody.
00:22:07.039 --> 00:22:08.079
Oh that's awesome.
00:22:08.640 --> 00:22:08.960
Okay.
00:22:09.359 --> 00:22:11.519
We're not it's not going to be a home cooking thing.
00:22:11.680 --> 00:22:12.480
Oh very cool.
00:22:12.640 --> 00:22:12.880
Yeah.
00:22:13.119 --> 00:22:16.160
All right, Jody, build up a V17 real quick.
00:22:16.319 --> 00:22:16.640
Yeah.
00:22:16.880 --> 00:22:17.039
Yeah.
00:22:22.240 --> 00:22:22.480
Yeah.
00:22:22.640 --> 00:22:22.880
Yeah.
00:22:23.039 --> 00:22:23.200
Yeah.
00:22:23.519 --> 00:22:24.480
But God, 50 years.
00:22:24.720 --> 00:22:26.319
Evil Bay might have one.
00:22:28.240 --> 00:22:30.559
I actually think I have I think I have one.
00:22:30.799 --> 00:22:32.079
I don't have any in the staff.
00:22:32.240 --> 00:22:32.480
Yeah.
00:22:32.640 --> 00:22:34.400
I sold one a couple weeks ago.
00:22:35.039 --> 00:22:36.240
Did Jody buy it?
00:22:36.880 --> 00:22:37.200
No.
00:22:39.839 --> 00:22:40.160
Yeah.
00:22:40.319 --> 00:22:40.720
All right.
00:22:40.799 --> 00:22:43.759
So if anybody else has got anything they want to ask Mac, feel free.
00:22:43.839 --> 00:22:45.440
That's that's about all I've got.
00:22:45.680 --> 00:22:52.480
Well it's good that you're uh you've taken the input from people that have attended the show and have expanded it, made it a little bit bigger.
00:22:52.559 --> 00:22:54.079
You know, it was choked a little bit.
00:22:54.240 --> 00:22:58.960
I've I've only been two yeah I've only been two years and I thoroughly enjoy it.
00:22:59.039 --> 00:23:07.039
I'm looking forward to coming back you know in mid-October and it will always be on my list of shows to go to it's a great show so we greatly appreciate it.
00:23:07.279 --> 00:23:08.400
Yeah it's fantastic.
00:23:09.200 --> 00:23:10.960
Making me really wish I could get out there now.
00:23:11.200 --> 00:23:11.440
Yeah.
00:23:11.680 --> 00:23:18.319
I mean even if it's tell us again what the dates are it's October 18th 9 to 4.
00:23:18.400 --> 00:23:20.880
It's in Ware, New Hampshire at the middle school.
00:23:21.119 --> 00:23:26.960
It's not Grand Road that goes through where Route 114 and it's right there.
00:23:27.200 --> 00:23:29.200
Yeah it is it's you can't miss it.
00:23:29.440 --> 00:23:30.480
Literally cannot miss it.
00:23:30.880 --> 00:23:40.400
North and south you can get to it easily the coming south go to the north it's a they go through where it's a little longer but yeah you just gotta figure out where you're going.
00:23:40.559 --> 00:23:41.119
Yeah.
00:23:41.359 --> 00:23:50.559
To the model show yes yes that's right the where jokes just keep coming yes they do where in the world are we going?
00:23:50.880 --> 00:24:12.400
Well I knew if I only knew where to write my name and number on the form we would be in well we can show you where oh perfect excellent and we can show you in the room where the show starts too yeah yeah listen it's not where it was last year so I might get lost.
00:24:12.640 --> 00:24:14.319
Well it is where it was last year.
00:24:14.640 --> 00:24:15.759
Not in the same room though.
00:24:16.319 --> 00:24:25.680
No yeah I uh Mac I was wondering uh are are you guys gonna stick with the one two three from now on or are you going to be moving over to gold silver bronzes sometime?
00:24:26.160 --> 00:24:50.160
We would like to try to do the open judging it might not be able to do the whole show at once but um some of the other clubs I wanted to get with them and see how I've judged it other IPMS shows that are using it they're doing like mostly military dioramas there's one in mass Bay Colony I think they're gonna try to do the whole show this year is um open judging.
00:24:50.400 --> 00:25:11.599
Wow okay but they've got like 60 people in the club you know we've got maybe 20 25 that come out of the woodwork to help so and not everybody wants to judge so right right we that's why I say um try to find some people in our club or other clubs I've asked that can understand like arm or playing stuff like that.
00:25:11.680 --> 00:25:16.720
I don't want a figure painter judging armor or anything mixed up like that.
00:25:16.880 --> 00:25:25.680
I just came from a show down south like that where they just handed out folders so some of the classes got judged by somebody that knew it others were just crapshoot.
00:25:25.920 --> 00:25:31.359
Yeah they were winning it yeah yeah so I I don't think that's fair to the modeler.
00:25:31.599 --> 00:25:57.119
No yeah they felt it was partial at partiality if you did it that way but dude if you if somebody's building armor I want somebody to judge it or cars or planes that has a a decent idea of what the stuff is you know you tell somebody you chopped and channeled a car they're gonna go what yeah well you look at you look at a tank and it's got floating wheels the barrel's crooked and it's shiny and they think it's oh that's cool.
00:25:59.279 --> 00:26:15.359
Well sounds sounds like it sounds like Max seen some of my armor but I mean I I've done this a long time and I've seen a bunch of that and yeah and unfortunately if you go to some other shows and that's the way it ends up being it's what it is.
00:26:15.440 --> 00:26:39.119
You got to kind of understand and get hardened to it you know you can go out of there scratching your head but um it's you're also there you should be there to see some of your friends and stuff and some of the other modelers not just that's right yeah you know I like to compete I got a competitive nature but you know I'm not gonna throw the thing across the room if it doesn't win but I just you kind of look and say I wonder what they were looking at and then you see what won you go ooh but what can you do?
00:26:39.200 --> 00:26:41.359
It's it's the it's what happens.
00:26:42.079 --> 00:26:50.480
Yeah so that's what I tell my guys you know that go with me or we all go together it's like whatever happens happens you just there's different sets of eyes looking at it.
00:26:50.640 --> 00:27:34.559
Yeah yeah it's all subjective it's all subjective well said well said I I uh yeah that word I just don't like it when when people say I would have liked to have seen more blank you know that type of thing it's like wait that's a personal choice that's building it your way that's not building it as present exactly I'm like I don't think you should be judging yeah the coulda woulda shoulda stuff that's fine if you want to write something afterwards but what's in front of you is the way and that's why the advantage to the modeler and why we try to say we don't nitpick you know sometimes you look at them they're one dimensional and you wish they did some pin washes of things and stuff like that and it but they didn't but what did they do?
00:27:34.720 --> 00:27:35.839
Did they do it well?
00:27:36.079 --> 00:28:49.440
Yes yeah exactly exactly the I wish you'd that goes in under the tips you know like hey try this next time not under the scoring portion yeah yeah good way of saying it justin yeah yeah I've sat in on a few amps judging amps amps nets judging tables so yeah you know what I mean but there you get the you get to write out yeah positive and negative comments hopefully yeah no no you do you do you get the um you get the the scorecard you give the score and you kind of give an idea of why the score was given right but then you say you know but then you give a the positive like yo it looks great you got one wheel that's kind of like you know what I mean and you can score you know but hey maybe next time try using a darker pin wash to make it pop a little more or something like that but it doesn't that not dark enough pin wash doesn't go against the score of the bill right you know because I'm a I've been in amps for a long time I'm an assistant chief judge and uh that's one of the things that we have to look for after the table captains hand it in is you know it's if if somebody gets a 10 it goes looks great.
00:28:49.519 --> 00:28:50.799
Well what what what about it?
00:28:51.440 --> 00:30:48.480
You can write something you know love the paint you know you know love the subject something like that but and if it doesn't look good you just I've seen it where they go it's terrible it's like whoa you're gonna rewrite that you just can't do that yeah they pay no money to come there whether it's IPM yeah this isn't Facebook you can't just say what you want to say it's amazing what you can do with that keyboard yeah exactly right yeah yeah and then watch what I do with my keyboard yeah yeah that's why that's why I want to carry a keyboard with me to show it's and be like oh yeah so you can show right watch what I can do with my keyboard whack yeah well have a set hanging underneath the keyboard so they can see them here here's my keyboard balls you know just oh there you go I can tell you that Jody and I are looking forward to coming this year it's it's gonna be absolutely it's high on the list so yeah great show just reciprocating you know because I like going to your shows the one can classic plastics yeah it's all good people yeah we got a great we're really great group of people up here I look forward to seeing all of them at the show so yep and you guys are moving your show this year too up here right we are we've got a new new venue um bigger bigger venue armory where we were holding it's a great venue i mean it's a great backdrop for uh for a model show just small and it just wasn't you know we had to kind of punt last year because of uh scheduling and it's an armory building so they they take precedence you know so yeah one year did you yeah week before the show they said it was before like desert storm or something yeah this is we're on an orange alert we you can't do it here so luckily just up the road we got a hold of the elks and that's where we were for a long time and we outgrew it big time.
00:30:48.799 --> 00:31:26.240
Yeah so where it's moving to is a good space you know um the club members you know we'd have to rent tables and the logistics of a bunch of people renting tables and getting tables from other places where the uh hotel venue where we're gonna have it they'll supply all that plus linen it's just gonna make life way easier for everybody we have to rent like 80 tables because the school only has a few round ones so that's our biggest expense is the tables and uh we we kind of held on to a bunch of our old stuff so leg extenders tablecloths and stuff we try to use just paper.
00:31:26.559 --> 00:32:03.839
I was just gonna ask you if you're gonna do leg extensions yeah we we we cut some up years ago and uh we've used them we've had a couple breaks but we did enough of them so we have plenty and uh we use Venetian blind the sections for the table dividers for the class dividers yeah so easily movable as a as a super tall person I I greatly appreciate the use of table extensions uh table leg extensions because wow after the you know halfway through the day of having to bend over and look at the model kits I'm like I'm just gonna lay down here on the floor and stretch out for a little while people can stand on you.
00:32:04.000 --> 00:39:57.440
Yeah right exactly yeah I don't I think it's a twofold thing because being I'm six feet so you know the judging all day you know if you are you you're you're crooked over it but for the kids they're doing this on the edge of the table you know yeah hang them out so it it's there's a pro and con but the the leg extenders are definitely the way to go absolutely and they're really not that hard to take off and put them on they they come off real easy lift and fall yeah lift and fall that's that's how I work out yeah I'd go to the gym I'd lift and I'd fall exactly go right over backwards yep yeah uh no we we started using uh table extenders here leg extensions here and it may have been just I'm like yay yeah it's only that's one less anvil I have to take um I think we started ours about 15 years ago oh nice yeah yeah I remember because I cut them all up yeah schedule for they use the leg extenders at classic plastic as well and those yeah it's schedule 40 is thick enough on the PVC so it doesn't split chop saw knock them out yep we were setting up for our IPMS and we're getting all the paper put on the tables and stuff and they brought up the tote boxes full of the uh extensions and we're all lifting them up and then somebody you know one of us old guys is getting on the floor to put the legs underneath there and then this uh this lady Lori comes walking in she's got four young boys with her and she's like okay boys here's the deal so they're scrambling around on the floor well we just lift up the tables and they just stick the legs underneath them we set it back down again it was like watching F1 right just move along got the room done in no time I asked Lori I'm like are these your uh these your boys she goes no they're out fine right ride their bikes I gave them ten dollars each come here do this I'm like thank you wow the um the MFCA club we uh when I was a cubmaster they convinced me to convince some scouts to come in told them uh you know free free admission to the show and all that and that's basically what they had them do is help clean up the uh the table covers and take out the the the leg extensions create a badge for them that's right yeah right that was up that was up to the leaders yeah yeah that that's how you get the youth involved in the hobby uh coupon codes and and cash and slavery exactly exactly cool i mean hookers and blow is what brought me into the hobby i don't know what well you were yeah we might get you out did you and justin change uh we we all have a different purview i guess yeah i was gonna say what happened anywho yeah uh i don't know if that was gonna stay in but it's definitely going the outtakes awesome well thanks for coming on Mac thanks for coming on and uh schlep in the show I look forward to seeing you here soon so yeah it's the same to the other guys there I know I probably won't see a couple of you but maybe in this format but yeah I was gonna say well you're at uh almost every show I go to so yeah I'll sure I'll be seeing a bunch of you this this year which I'll be doing Patriot in uh ours classic yeah yeah maybe Bay Colony that'd be the four that I do yeah are you gonna go to Jody's show yeah and when when they have it up here we will yeah good yeah good deal well it's officially on my list now so maybe I'll make the trip up from Florida and come up and invest some money in New Hampshire there you go we don't have a spell tax 20 million dollars for the money 20 million I'm doubling my money this time I'm bringing 40 all right wow nice big spender right yeah 40 millionth of a dollar is what he's bringing 40 millionth of a dollar exactly trying to be proportionate exactly he is the GDP of uh of Florida he is yeah you got the gross part right right well Mac thank you so much for being part of this and letting us know about your show and and talking about in detail appreciate that extremely extremely but uh we're gonna talk about something else okay yeah you can stick around yeah but bye this is why Justin is not the bouncer of the club yeah although walking into the gym today I did discover that I do bounce I missed the last step and bounced right into a puddle oh boy nice okay I got very moist is it like bumbles is it like the type of bumble bounce is that what you're talking about or it was close to it wow water bottle when flying a couple of guys were like dude are you all right I'm just a little wet now yeah I'm okay as he walks away limping all right all right it's not leg day put your put your camera phones away I'm fine put your camera phones away I'm okay yeah nobody getting sued here we want to say thank you so much for being part of this again and then we are going to be talking about the new kit that's coming out from Iceman Collections so check out Icemancollections.com where you can get this kit starting September 5th and that's going to be dropping at 7 p.m pacific standard time so that's when that's going to be live it's gonna be 85 for the kit and that is a freaking steal for what we're getting because we're getting Jody what are we getting we are getting a Baja Beetle yeah buddy a Baja Beetle now this is a a stellar kit I personally have had the chance of seeing it in person at the workshop of Iceman Collections because that's how cool I am I also love Hollywood I love that Mike and Justin are holding theirs up yeah like anybody can see it right it's an audio podcast and for all you know I'm holding mine up to the camera too I'm not but I'm just wanting to be part of the crew which I can pretend I can pretend but we have been challenged by Mr Iceman to build the pre-production ones that we've received as a group build for our channel pot slash podcast and Sunday live stream so do you guys want to share your ideas yet have you gotten your ideas sorted out yet because I've got mine I've got mine yeah I I don't know it's just cars I don't know you touch your filthy mouth boy filthy poor mouth my goal is clean it paint it and put it together that's what I'm gonna do okay come on you don't have a game plan what color I don't know yet I had a I had an actual Baja Beetle for a few years and that was a bright yellow black wheel so I would be inclined to tip my hat to that yeah and paint it as such but a guy that I knew in high school had one it was a metallic blue color and it had the white and pink stripes that went up over the top and sides oh I like be inclined to build a homage to him so oh I'm not sure I'm not sure I mean I've also we've all received the kit at this point and um just a cursory view it's a great kit great parts in there great detail yeah so it's gonna be no matter what you end up doing I think it's just gonna be it's just gonna be careful so yeah I have a question for the for for the group it comes with two figures are you guys gonna paint the figures as well I know Justin is I am absolutely right about it I'm gonna do an homage to Jody's high school friend I'm gonna paint mine blue with a with a pink stripe over the top of the perfect oh that'll that'll be wonderful I think there's a Marvel alien thing that looks somewhat like that.
00:39:57.920 --> 00:43:14.800
You might be right yeah these are 3D printed yeah they are yes 3D yep yeah yep yeah some of that stuff is awesome it's out there oh yes oh these are fantastic full engine detail and it has a really beautifully done roll cage too it has yeah yeah full extended and fragile looking yes to scale the pan good engine detail i mean the whole thing is just super super yeah I was gonna say the pan looks really nice it's got it's not just a flat pan with a fake bottom end no it's a it's a detailed Volkswagen pan it's really cool yeah the body printed really nice there's a little bit of work to do but all the um all the supports all up underneath so there's not a lot of that's detail will just be hidden anyway you know so yeah I think for not much effort you can make it look really really nice stand it out a little bit put some high build primer on it uh exactly exactly don't you tell me how to live my life it's I love yeah oh my god I've got some right here that get the same thing so uh so jody so Jody's thinking about doing an homage possibly to what he had or maybe uh uh an old friend from school Jason what about you what are you planning perhaps perhaps I've got a couple of ideas floating around in my head and I'm just throwing these out there there's a bunch of them there could be I could do a Herbie tribute Baja bug that would be cool um I could do there's a Baja bug here in Wolfboro that is really nice it's like a light powder blue but it's got billet aluminum wheels on it and it's it's just oh it's beautiful the thing is beautiful I could do an homage to that I could slam it with the uh Iceman wheels that we got a few months ago right that would be different that'd be really different so yeah I'm kicking around a couple things I have seen those built in that manner you know the one-to-one stuff where you lower it put the Baja fender flares and all that stuff yeah they look really cool like that yeah exactly a slammed off rotor hmm yeah that's kind of like a double negative almost yeah for a sandbox not a desert yeah yeah it's the automotive equivalent of ink auto no what what yeah can I show can I uh show something here you guys I don't know what you use for primer but this is what I use it's uh it's rust olium you're done no that's a good no fish oil so this is uh made by a company called STEM it's high build primer you gotta know yeah yep it works awesome I've got two or three guys in the club it's a little expensive but it is a couple coats of this it works really nice I haven't heard of it's all a motive grade that's why it works as well as it does no fantastic it's actually designed for it yeah I just figured I'd throw it in there because we're we're on the subject of 3D printing and that might be an aid that somebody might not know about yeah nice that's good excellent because I'll have to search see if I can search that out around here then because um I autobody shops you know supply shops can get it or you can get it on I think you can get it on Amazon too.
00:43:14.960 --> 00:43:18.559
I was just gonna say I'm gonna check the jungle website right now.
00:43:18.880 --> 00:43:28.719
Gotcha jungle site I like to um to me a primer but man that stuff just it's so thin there's your part number 42013 gray.
00:43:28.960 --> 00:44:10.079
Yep to me a primer is good as a a filler a sealer you know or a uh a surfacer it's not a filler it's a surfacer it would be something that you use right before you actually apply your color code yeah yeah yeah it's not it's not a fill primer why it's so thin that's what I usually use it for so uh another good brand and it is automotive based you do you would have to go to their website but uh crest yep that isn't that's another uh Uh phenomenal product that uh is designed there and I I liked their products because the the fan tip that they have on it springs down their primers really nice.
00:44:10.320 --> 00:44:14.320
No crest automotive products, not crest oral products.
00:44:14.719 --> 00:44:15.280
Thank you.
00:44:19.199 --> 00:44:21.360
I couldn't find any crest, so I used my aquafesh.
00:44:21.440 --> 00:44:22.159
This stuff sucks.
00:44:22.480 --> 00:44:27.920
Yeah, you really want me to say oral on the podcast, dude.
00:44:28.000 --> 00:44:30.559
I set you up just so you could say that.
00:44:30.719 --> 00:44:31.920
So you're welcome.
00:44:32.079 --> 00:44:33.039
But uh let's see.
00:44:33.119 --> 00:44:37.679
So for me, I already have the plan to do the Herbie uh because I got the decal set for it.
00:44:37.760 --> 00:44:39.840
So okay, I'm out on that.
00:44:40.000 --> 00:44:43.039
I'm a huge Herbie fan, so we can always say who did it better.
00:44:43.199 --> 00:44:43.760
There you go.
00:44:44.320 --> 00:44:45.519
We would not do that.
00:44:45.840 --> 00:44:48.159
No, we would not do that.
00:44:48.400 --> 00:44:49.280
What about Mikey?
00:44:50.159 --> 00:44:51.039
Mike's got his head.
00:44:51.840 --> 00:44:53.039
Mike's got his already.
00:44:53.440 --> 00:44:56.559
I'm working on mine right now, trying to figure out this.
00:44:56.880 --> 00:45:00.559
I've actually waited through the podcast to go ahead and open this thing up.
00:45:00.639 --> 00:45:06.960
I had some ideas to uh check it out, but uh of course I had seen the uh pictures of it.
00:45:07.199 --> 00:45:18.719
But what's running through what initially ran through my head was building it with uh independent front and rear suspension, like like a modern style baja, like a like a true modern style Baja.
00:45:19.280 --> 00:45:23.920
But looking at this amazing pan, I don't I don't want to hack it up.
00:45:24.000 --> 00:45:28.880
This the suspension's all beautiful, everything in this thing is yeah is really well laid out.
00:45:28.960 --> 00:45:30.719
I don't I don't want to butcher it.
00:45:30.800 --> 00:45:37.280
So I'm thinking uh maybe change the tires and wheels, maybe, maybe go with something a little bit bigger.
00:45:37.519 --> 00:46:15.519
And um, now what's running through my head is getting with our good friends down at Tropical Glitz and and probably coming up with some sort of a really heavy metallic two-tone color, something that looks you know like an 80s bass boat, maybe and uh and and kind of stick true to what's here because it's you know Lice Man has done such a great job printing this out and design, and whoever designed this, I don't I don't really want to hack it up, which as you guys know, I tend to hack up everything, but I don't I don't I don't want to hack this up if you want to accuratize it, make sure you got the pushrod tubes leaking, yeah.
00:46:17.920 --> 00:46:20.079
You're not gonna stick a pacer engine in that.
00:46:20.320 --> 00:46:21.360
No, I'm not gonna stick it.
00:46:21.599 --> 00:46:24.719
I do have one of his big Volkswagen engines up here, though.
00:46:24.800 --> 00:46:26.880
That's but I hadn't really looked that close to one that's here.
00:46:27.280 --> 00:46:30.159
The Volkswagen engine that comes with is amazing, yeah.
00:46:30.239 --> 00:46:38.239
Yeah, but we actually have witness witnesses here, not only ourselves but Mac, where Mike just said he's probably gonna build it out of the box.
00:46:38.559 --> 00:46:41.440
I didn't say out of the box, I said not fuck with it.
00:46:41.760 --> 00:46:43.199
He said just not hack it up.
00:46:43.519 --> 00:46:44.000
That's close.
00:46:44.880 --> 00:46:45.840
That's close enough.
00:46:46.000 --> 00:46:47.119
I'm gonna take it a step further.
00:46:47.199 --> 00:46:48.639
I'm gonna build it in the box.
00:46:48.880 --> 00:46:50.880
I was just gonna say, like a ship and a bottle.
00:46:58.400 --> 00:46:59.599
Yeah, oh man.
00:46:59.760 --> 00:47:00.559
I'm digging it though.
00:47:01.119 --> 00:47:01.679
All right, so cool.
00:47:01.760 --> 00:47:02.800
So we're doing this group build.
00:47:02.880 --> 00:47:04.320
When's it when are we starting this?
00:47:04.480 --> 00:47:05.199
Oh, let's see.
00:47:05.280 --> 00:47:07.199
How about uh September 1st?
00:47:07.360 --> 00:47:08.000
Is that too soon?
00:47:08.159 --> 00:47:08.800
September 1.
00:47:08.880 --> 00:47:09.840
Yeah, or October 1.
00:47:11.440 --> 00:47:12.639
September 1 is fine.
00:47:12.880 --> 00:47:14.000
Mike's got a head start.
00:47:14.400 --> 00:47:15.920
Probably already passed.
00:47:16.239 --> 00:47:19.920
So this will be out before September 1, probably.
00:47:20.079 --> 00:47:21.599
Yeah, this is 27th today.
00:47:21.679 --> 00:47:22.320
So 27th.
00:47:23.440 --> 00:47:24.079
Fair enough.
00:47:24.320 --> 00:47:25.920
BG's this ready to post yet.
00:47:26.000 --> 00:47:30.320
He's just gonna I'm just gonna edit it while we're while we're doing it.
00:47:31.280 --> 00:47:31.519
Live.
00:47:31.599 --> 00:47:32.239
Edit it live.
00:47:32.480 --> 00:47:33.519
Hopefully, we don't get a cramp.
00:47:33.760 --> 00:47:35.519
This one's writing itself, it's perfect.
00:47:35.679 --> 00:47:36.320
Yeah.
00:47:37.199 --> 00:47:41.039
Um before we go too far though, nobody asked me what I was thinking about doing.
00:47:41.360 --> 00:47:42.400
We know what you're gonna do.
00:47:43.199 --> 00:47:44.079
We did, yeah, we did.
00:47:44.320 --> 00:47:47.280
We asked you first, and you were like, uh, I don't know what those people are.
00:47:47.440 --> 00:47:47.920
No, I know.
00:47:48.000 --> 00:47:49.840
I um I know I know what Justin's gonna paint.
00:47:50.960 --> 00:47:51.599
What are you thinking?
00:47:51.760 --> 00:47:53.280
He's gonna paint it like a boob.
00:47:54.400 --> 00:47:55.679
Big old nipple right up top.
00:47:55.760 --> 00:47:56.400
No, I'm just kidding.
00:47:56.880 --> 00:48:00.639
Um, actually, I got a couple ideas going through.
00:48:00.880 --> 00:48:09.519
Um, I don't know, maybe maybe something uh along the lines of like a World War III, like machine and Krieger type theme.
00:48:09.679 --> 00:48:13.280
Oh you know, stick with the whole German thing, right?
00:48:13.360 --> 00:48:13.519
Right.
00:48:13.679 --> 00:48:19.599
Um, somewhere between like Mad Max and World War II, Third Reich kind of kind of thing.
00:48:19.840 --> 00:48:29.119
But at the same time, I've got several different surfboards in 125th scale, so you know, might might go do a a beach cruiser type thing too.
00:48:29.199 --> 00:48:34.239
So combine the two, do a mad max surfing thing, not the beach cruiser.
00:48:37.280 --> 00:48:40.000
I cruise the beach in, yeah.
00:48:41.199 --> 00:48:42.480
That's fucked up.
00:48:44.400 --> 00:48:45.440
That really is.
00:48:46.800 --> 00:48:48.800
But no, I mean it's got possibilities, man.
00:48:48.880 --> 00:48:49.360
It it does.
00:48:49.440 --> 00:48:54.719
I know does anybody make a uh 125th scale uh German MG42?
00:48:54.960 --> 00:48:56.960
Mount one of those to the roof of this sucker.
00:48:57.519 --> 00:49:00.800
I'm sure you can I'm sure you can find a file for one and have one printed for you.
00:49:00.960 --> 00:49:02.639
Yeah, probably could, yeah, for sure.
00:49:02.800 --> 00:49:03.199
No problem.
00:49:03.360 --> 00:49:10.800
Maybe you know what they say that the um a 10 nose gun from start to finish is bigger than one of these.
00:49:10.960 --> 00:49:17.679
Maybe get a 125th scale 88 millimeter cannon mounted to the top of his sucker.
00:49:18.079 --> 00:49:20.320
Every time you fire it, it goes backwards, right?
00:49:21.440 --> 00:49:22.239
Exactly.
00:49:23.440 --> 00:49:26.320
The rims rotate inside the tires as it runs it.
00:49:27.840 --> 00:49:28.960
No outriggers on it.
00:49:29.440 --> 00:49:39.440
As a matter of fact, in the Gundam world, there's they have we just got a set of these in a few uh yesterday, gigantic Gatling guns that just have these huge long barrels.
00:49:39.519 --> 00:49:43.360
It's bigger, it's actually longer than the actual model kit is because I've built this before.
00:49:43.519 --> 00:49:46.159
They're only a couple of bucks, like 10 bucks for a set for this thing.
00:49:46.239 --> 00:49:55.119
But there's a couple different ways you can build this because you can do it on a tripod or you can build it so that somebody's holding it, but you could probably modify the hell out of that thing and put that on that right there.
00:49:55.199 --> 00:49:57.039
Yeah, yeah, that would be kind of cool too.
00:49:57.119 --> 00:49:59.119
That would be a nice belt-fed system.
00:49:59.360 --> 00:50:05.760
Oh wow, I feel the need to build it as close to as it comes because of the fact that he right.
00:50:05.920 --> 00:50:10.079
But what if you put like tracks on the back of it and skis on the front of it?
00:50:10.320 --> 00:50:12.960
Like that Schwimmwagen type I've got one of those.
00:50:13.119 --> 00:50:14.000
I've got one of those.
00:50:14.239 --> 00:50:14.800
So do I.
00:50:14.880 --> 00:50:21.840
That's why I was just looking at it and I was like, Oh, that would be it was a real conversion, it had tracks on the back and skis on the front.
00:50:22.079 --> 00:50:23.760
Yeah, yeah, I got the main one.
00:50:23.840 --> 00:50:25.599
Yeah, but you know what you just did, Jason?
00:50:25.679 --> 00:50:30.400
You planted a seed in my head because I've got those 3D printed tracks that are just the tracks.
00:50:30.559 --> 00:50:33.599
Yep, yeah, yeah, I got a set of those too.
00:50:35.280 --> 00:50:36.719
One for each wheel something.
00:50:36.800 --> 00:50:40.320
Every time I suggest something, somebody's like, Oh, I'm gonna do it that way.
00:50:41.679 --> 00:50:43.840
I already thought about doing my the Herbie Way.
00:50:43.920 --> 00:50:48.400
See, this is why we don't share what we do, we just do it, and then how can we share?
00:50:48.559 --> 00:50:49.440
Yeah, that's right.
00:50:49.679 --> 00:50:50.800
I'm looking forward to it.
00:50:50.960 --> 00:50:53.199
Being a VW guy, I'm glad that he's put that out.
00:50:53.280 --> 00:50:59.440
I mean, when he posted those other parts earlier this year, the the wide steel wheels and the engines.
00:50:59.599 --> 00:51:02.719
I mean, I immediately went on and bought all that stuff.
00:51:02.960 --> 00:51:08.320
Everything he had VW related, I purchased, yeah, because we were talking about doing some sort of BW.
00:51:08.719 --> 00:51:19.519
Yeah, and I actually bought a couple when I went to NL East, I had really no thing that I needed to buy other than I was gonna keep an eye out for some VW kits, and that's pretty much what I bought.
00:51:19.599 --> 00:51:23.920
I bought another Tamiya 1600 Beetle and the Myers Manx kit.
00:51:24.079 --> 00:51:28.960
I bought a couple of so you know we've got all these other parts and pieces, so I'm glad he came out with it.
00:51:29.599 --> 00:51:31.760
I am too, yeah, they're they're just fantastic.
00:51:32.079 --> 00:51:35.519
Does this mean that Iceman like listens to us or something?
00:51:35.760 --> 00:51:40.400
Yeah, maybe, maybe uh that's highly coincidental.
00:51:40.480 --> 00:51:43.360
I'm sure were you trying to say that we might be influencers?
00:51:43.519 --> 00:51:44.480
Oh no, no, no, no.
00:51:45.840 --> 00:51:47.360
Bad influencers, maybe.
00:51:47.519 --> 00:51:49.360
Yeah, maybe that was good.
00:51:49.440 --> 00:51:52.480
Yeah, that's never that literally fits.
00:51:52.719 --> 00:52:00.320
Listen, if Joel is listening to us and we're influencing him, we have to talk to him, and he needs to there needs to be an intervention.
00:52:01.519 --> 00:52:06.239
I think the only thing that's happened is he's influenced money out of our wallet to buy these things.
00:52:06.639 --> 00:52:07.920
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:52:08.079 --> 00:52:08.719
Interesting.
00:52:09.199 --> 00:52:10.480
Jody, back to your point.
00:52:10.559 --> 00:52:15.920
I'm I'm exempt from that because my ex-wife has already taken any extra free money I've got.
00:52:16.159 --> 00:52:18.079
So they are this man.
00:52:19.920 --> 00:52:22.159
Oh no, I'm I am hyped up on this.
00:52:22.239 --> 00:52:23.119
This is exciting.
00:52:23.360 --> 00:52:23.840
Me too.
00:52:24.000 --> 00:52:24.320
Me too.
00:52:24.400 --> 00:52:25.360
I can't wait to get started.
00:52:25.440 --> 00:52:29.440
So our due our due date, our start date is gonna be September 1st.
00:52:29.760 --> 00:52:32.880
Okay, yeah, let's let's do that as our tentative start date.
00:52:32.960 --> 00:52:33.199
Absolutely.
00:52:35.199 --> 00:52:36.079
What about our end date?
00:52:36.239 --> 00:52:37.360
September 2nd.
00:52:40.320 --> 00:52:41.840
I'm gonna be late.
00:52:42.079 --> 00:52:51.360
I mean, and and in speaking to Joel, he didn't really give us a time frame, but I think you know, if we set it to the end of the year, that gives us three months or so to put together the team.
00:52:52.079 --> 00:53:04.000
Yeah, yeah, I think I think that's good as as maybe um as we kind of wrap up, if we get them all done by end of the year, maybe the beginning of next year, we can kind of reflect on that, you know.
00:53:04.239 --> 00:53:05.119
Yeah, that'd be cool.
00:53:05.599 --> 00:53:09.039
I was gonna suggest October 18th, we all meet at Granicon.
00:53:09.360 --> 00:53:11.679
Um just kidding.
00:53:13.840 --> 00:53:16.480
Okay, you and Jody do that.
00:53:16.800 --> 00:53:22.559
And I will not have time to get this thing built in that uh meaning.
00:53:22.960 --> 00:53:26.719
I got two or three other things in the in the way of it, unfortunately.
00:53:26.800 --> 00:53:29.920
So I'm gonna outsource mine to my buddy over autistic modeler.
00:53:30.079 --> 00:53:32.480
He can do the do that like in an hour and a half.
00:53:32.639 --> 00:53:33.679
Yeah, there you go.
00:53:34.159 --> 00:53:36.960
Oh, see if you can get a discount on a group rate.
00:53:37.119 --> 00:53:37.360
Right.
00:53:40.079 --> 00:53:41.920
Yeah, he might he might he might hook you up.
00:53:42.000 --> 00:53:42.639
He might hook you up.
00:53:42.880 --> 00:53:44.320
Group build group rate.
00:53:44.719 --> 00:53:46.800
Yeah, I can't say that with a group on.
00:53:49.840 --> 00:53:57.360
Okay, well, I can't wait to get started on this kit, and I'm gonna sit here and stare at it until September 1st comes around and then I'm gonna count on it.
00:53:57.440 --> 00:53:59.119
I think I'll start my own on the live cast.
00:53:59.360 --> 00:54:01.199
That's what I'm gonna be working on Sundays.
00:54:01.280 --> 00:54:08.880
Yeah, actually, yeah, it's a that's a good idea to um maybe maybe I'll try maybe I'll try to make that a focus to uh to work on that during that.
00:54:10.880 --> 00:54:12.239
That is my plan as well.
00:54:12.400 --> 00:54:13.360
Mike, put it away.
00:54:13.440 --> 00:54:15.280
No, yeah, I'm stop playing.
00:54:16.079 --> 00:54:17.360
He's already standing on it.
00:54:17.440 --> 00:54:19.039
Yeah, stop licking it, Mike.
00:54:19.519 --> 00:54:20.800
Guys constantly standing over there.
00:54:21.519 --> 00:54:23.039
Stop licking on it.
00:54:23.599 --> 00:54:26.400
He's trying to smooth it out like a cat's tongue.
00:54:26.639 --> 00:54:27.599
It's gonna have tracks.
00:54:27.760 --> 00:54:30.000
There's no doubt in my mind it's gonna have tracks.
00:54:30.320 --> 00:54:30.960
Nice.
00:54:31.679 --> 00:54:39.199
I think um yeah, that track I believe Joel Joel has um put a couple kind of teaser shots out there, right?
00:54:39.280 --> 00:54:48.239
I mean, obviously, that's I think we all saw it, but if you've got more information or want any more details, go to his web page and uh the Facebook page.
00:54:48.480 --> 00:54:50.320
I think he's posted on both of those.
00:54:50.480 --> 00:54:54.639
But yep, I think VW guy like most of us, you know.
00:54:54.800 --> 00:54:56.559
You know somebody that's had one at some point.
00:54:56.639 --> 00:54:58.880
If you didn't have one, go buy the kit.
00:54:58.960 --> 00:54:59.760
It's fantastic.
00:55:00.000 --> 00:55:00.719
It is a great kit.
00:55:00.960 --> 00:55:06.320
It's absolutely yeah, and remember if you can't afford to drop 85 in one shot, PayPal paying for baby.
00:55:06.400 --> 00:55:07.119
Yeah, there you go.
00:55:07.280 --> 00:55:07.760
There you go.
00:55:08.400 --> 00:55:08.960
That's right.
00:55:09.280 --> 00:55:11.679
You can have it paid off before it's built.
00:55:12.960 --> 00:55:16.800
Yep, you guys can also go to my channel and I did a video on it already.
00:55:16.880 --> 00:55:22.719
So please go check out Jason's open box review on that because Lord knows I didn't do one.
00:55:23.679 --> 00:55:25.440
I just did right here on the show.
00:55:26.000 --> 00:55:26.639
There you go.
00:55:26.800 --> 00:55:27.599
Yeah, yeah.
00:55:27.840 --> 00:55:29.360
I was gonna film a video today.
00:55:29.440 --> 00:55:39.760
I actually was gathering up the uh the the intelligence quotient to do a video, and I I started to sit down to I was telling Jason about this earlier, I started to sit down to get to get into it, and I was like, I haven't done one of these in so long.
00:55:39.840 --> 00:55:45.519
I'm actually more nervous than the first time I ever did a video, so that's kind of weird.
00:55:47.360 --> 00:55:53.199
I would have probably just been uh stumbling all over myself, so I decided to just pass and I'll come back and I'll probably take care of it this weekend.
00:55:53.280 --> 00:56:05.440
So yeah, um, as we're sitting here talking about this, I I'm thinking about this thing, and I I know I've got some Florida Orange from Tropical Glitz.
00:56:05.599 --> 00:56:08.000
I might be going Florida Orange on this sucker.
00:56:08.239 --> 00:56:09.519
Florida Orange, interesting.
00:56:09.599 --> 00:56:17.760
And I got the uh I got my my little color wheel out already, so I'm looking to see for some accent colors, and I think that I'm thinking that's where I might go.
00:56:18.159 --> 00:56:19.920
Florida Orange Beach Cruiser.
00:56:20.239 --> 00:56:22.960
That would look killer actually in that orange color.
00:56:23.280 --> 00:56:23.519
Right.
00:56:24.320 --> 00:56:26.400
A couple surfboards or a surfboard up on the roof.
00:56:26.639 --> 00:56:27.519
Yeah, yeah, buddy.
00:56:28.320 --> 00:56:28.800
Yeah.
00:56:29.119 --> 00:56:31.119
Oh, sunfaded orange.
00:56:31.280 --> 00:56:33.039
Well, it's definitely gonna be dusted.
00:56:33.280 --> 00:56:33.920
You know what I mean?
00:56:34.079 --> 00:56:38.480
It's gonna definitely be hitting the beach.
00:56:38.800 --> 00:56:41.119
I'm gonna I think when I do mine, I'm gonna do the same.
00:56:41.199 --> 00:56:42.800
I've already kind of contemplated that.
00:56:43.119 --> 00:56:44.960
Dusting it up, make it a little bit dirty.
00:56:45.119 --> 00:56:48.079
So not over the top, just a little.
00:56:48.400 --> 00:56:50.239
Just a little, a little dirt kissed.
00:56:50.480 --> 00:56:53.440
Big uh big big thanks to Joel for uh for sending them over.
00:56:53.519 --> 00:56:56.159
So absolutely they're they're fantastic.
00:56:56.320 --> 00:56:57.440
I can't wait, start.
00:56:58.559 --> 00:56:59.280
Thank you, Mr.
00:56:59.440 --> 00:57:00.159
Iceman.
00:57:03.760 --> 00:57:05.519
Slime green and purple.
00:57:06.000 --> 00:57:07.280
Did you say slime green?
00:57:08.000 --> 00:57:09.119
Slime green, okay.
00:57:09.440 --> 00:57:13.280
Metallic y, really metallic, heavy metallic, slime green, and purple.
00:57:13.840 --> 00:57:14.800
With tracks.
00:57:15.039 --> 00:57:15.840
With tracks.
00:57:16.000 --> 00:57:16.719
With tracks.
00:57:17.039 --> 00:57:20.880
That's the uh and big daddy Roth Big Rig colors.
00:57:21.119 --> 00:57:23.199
Oh in the purple, yeah.
00:57:23.440 --> 00:57:27.039
It'd be like a VW Beetle and the Incredible Hulk had a baby.
00:57:32.000 --> 00:57:32.559
Wow.
00:57:32.960 --> 00:57:35.760
And they're single-wide trailer because it's got mud tracks on it.
00:57:37.599 --> 00:57:40.320
They're definitely gonna have some mud up the side of that one.
00:57:40.960 --> 00:57:43.679
Yeah, fantastic.
00:57:43.920 --> 00:57:44.639
All right, guys.
00:57:44.719 --> 00:57:50.800
I tell you what, why don't we go ahead and say uh sorry goodbyes and we'll head on off to get to dreaming about these bugs?
00:57:50.960 --> 00:57:53.280
We think yeah, yeah, sounds good to me.
00:57:53.679 --> 00:57:57.119
All right, you just you just gave me a starship troopers idea.
00:58:00.480 --> 00:58:03.360
I said it sounds like you're dreaming at night, it's gonna be bed bugs.
00:58:03.599 --> 00:58:05.599
Yeah, well, yeah, there we go.
00:58:05.840 --> 00:58:08.639
Dude, I I live through that and I I don't wish that on anybody.
00:58:08.719 --> 00:58:09.679
Well, maybe one guy.
00:58:09.920 --> 00:58:13.840
No, but just definitely two.
00:58:15.039 --> 00:58:16.400
I can think of a couple.
00:58:19.599 --> 00:58:20.400
All right, cool.
00:58:20.480 --> 00:58:22.079
I tell you what, let's go ahead and start the goodbyes.
00:58:22.239 --> 00:58:23.039
We'll start with Jody.
00:58:24.079 --> 00:58:25.679
Hey, thanks for uh thanks for coming.
00:58:25.840 --> 00:58:29.519
It's uh it was good to to get Mac in here, talk about the Granite Con show.
00:58:29.679 --> 00:58:30.239
Great show.
00:58:30.559 --> 00:58:31.199
Can't wait.
00:58:31.280 --> 00:58:36.000
And um, I will see you at PatCon and I will see Classic Plastic as well.
00:58:36.320 --> 00:58:40.400
So I look forward to uh spending some time with you and look forward to getting going on this Beatle build.
00:58:40.480 --> 00:58:50.880
So again, go check out uh Joel, go to the Iceman uh Facebook group, and I think he's probably got some teaser shots on his uh his um website as well.
00:58:51.039 --> 00:58:54.079
But if you're in a VWs, go pick one up, it's fantastic.
00:58:55.119 --> 00:58:55.760
Take care, everybody.
00:58:56.239 --> 00:58:56.880
See you again soon.
00:58:57.199 --> 00:58:57.840
Thank you, Jody.
00:58:58.159 --> 00:58:58.559
Justin.
00:58:58.719 --> 00:59:01.039
Hey everybody, thanks for listening.
00:59:01.199 --> 00:59:03.280
Get your Beatles, be there, be square.
00:59:03.519 --> 00:59:05.599
Mac, why don't you go ahead and give us a goodbye, also?
00:59:05.840 --> 00:59:09.840
Well, thanks for letting me uh come on tonight and hang out and eavesdrop a little bit.
00:59:10.000 --> 00:59:12.239
Um, I've never experienced one of these.
00:59:12.400 --> 00:59:14.480
Um, it's a cool group of guys.
00:59:15.039 --> 00:59:15.840
So I appreciate it.
00:59:16.079 --> 00:59:16.639
Thank you again.
00:59:17.360 --> 00:59:20.159
I don't even like sausage, but I saw how it was made tonight.
00:59:20.400 --> 00:59:21.440
Yes, yeah, yeah.
00:59:21.920 --> 00:59:22.800
That's right.
00:59:24.239 --> 00:59:29.119
And let me tell you, five of us in a room, six of us in a room, it was definitely a sausage fest.
00:59:29.440 --> 00:59:33.119
Okay, sounds like Justin's eat dinner, Mikey.
00:59:33.360 --> 00:59:36.159
Yes, I want to give a big shout out to Mac.
00:59:36.400 --> 00:59:38.239
Thanks for coming by telling us about your show.
00:59:38.320 --> 00:59:42.320
Uh, it's now officially on my list, so maybe I'll make the trip up there.
00:59:42.480 --> 00:59:46.719
It's far enough out to where I really don't have any real excuses, so I appreciate that.
00:59:46.960 --> 00:59:50.800
Um, want to give a uh big shout out to uh Iceman Joel.
00:59:50.880 --> 00:59:51.760
Thank you for this bug.
00:59:51.840 --> 00:59:52.960
These things are amazing.
00:59:53.119 --> 00:59:57.599
I'm really excited about doing this, and somebody had to mention tracks, so now I'm looking at these tracks.
00:59:58.639 --> 01:00:03.519
So we had a lot of fun with this thing, but um definitely want to thank the listeners.
01:00:03.599 --> 01:00:04.639
Thank you all for stopping by.
01:00:04.719 --> 01:00:06.000
I want to thank my fellow co-hosts.
01:00:06.079 --> 01:00:11.760
You guys are great, appreciate y'all, and uh y'all be good, be kind to each other, and as always, keep on modeling.
01:00:12.079 --> 01:00:12.639
Thank you, Mike.
01:00:12.800 --> 01:00:14.239
Jason, good to have you back, Mikey.
01:00:14.880 --> 01:00:21.599
Yeah, I was gonna say first off, thank you to all the listeners for listening to this little side show that was pretty cool.
01:00:21.920 --> 01:00:24.239
Um thanks, Mac, for coming on.
01:00:24.559 --> 01:00:29.039
Uh, it was wonderful to hear about your show, and hopefully, um it's a huge success.
01:00:29.199 --> 01:00:31.199
I'm sure it will be, but hopefully it's a huge success.
01:00:32.000 --> 01:00:34.320
Um, thanks to Joel for the Baja Bug.
01:00:34.400 --> 01:00:38.320
I also can't wait to get on onto mine and get started on it.
01:00:38.480 --> 01:00:41.519
I do think I'm gonna dedicate Sundays to it though.
01:00:41.679 --> 01:00:42.079
Me too.
01:00:42.320 --> 01:00:43.360
That's a good idea.
01:00:43.679 --> 01:00:46.719
Um and thanks for finally hanging with us, Mikey.
01:00:46.800 --> 01:00:47.360
I appreciate you.
01:00:47.440 --> 01:00:49.920
I didn't have to pick on you so much because you were actually here.
01:00:50.159 --> 01:00:50.800
Right.
01:00:51.440 --> 01:00:54.239
Well, when the power goes out, I got no choice, right?
01:00:54.400 --> 01:00:57.199
Yep, you took a whooping when you were gone there the other night.
01:00:57.440 --> 01:01:05.840
Oh, I heard, yeah, I heard you're telling on yourself, Jody, because you were the first one to pick on it.
01:01:05.920 --> 01:01:06.880
Yeah, yeah, I was.
01:01:07.039 --> 01:01:07.920
I love you, buddy.
01:01:08.159 --> 01:01:12.800
I'm gonna go on record to say that I did not call you a chunky manatee lover.
01:01:12.880 --> 01:01:13.760
That was not me.
01:01:13.920 --> 01:01:15.199
No, and there it is.
01:01:15.440 --> 01:01:25.280
You did say when I showed up in my box with the air holes in it that I would smell like Copenhagen and Gorz Light, and I about fell out of the wow, about fell out of the dozer when I heard that.
01:01:25.440 --> 01:01:27.840
I'm like, he's so right, that son of a bitch.
01:01:28.239 --> 01:01:29.199
How did you know?
01:01:29.760 --> 01:01:30.800
He knows me.
01:01:30.960 --> 01:01:31.840
That's awesome.
01:01:32.000 --> 01:01:33.679
He's been in my room.
01:01:36.559 --> 01:01:37.840
Oh is that Ben Gay?
01:01:37.920 --> 01:01:38.880
No, that's Copenhagen.
01:01:38.960 --> 01:01:39.360
Oh, okay.
01:01:40.880 --> 01:01:42.000
All right, well, this is Mr.
01:01:42.079 --> 01:01:45.760
BG saying thank you to everybody for for listening and participating on the Facebook page.
01:01:45.920 --> 01:01:47.280
Appreciate that beyond words.
01:01:47.360 --> 01:01:48.719
I also like to say thank you to Mr.
01:01:48.800 --> 01:01:52.960
Iceman Collection for sending us these kits that we're about to be working on here pretty soon.
01:01:53.119 --> 01:02:03.679
Uh, you guys gotta check them out, like you like Jody said, check them out on Facebook, he's also on Instagram, and you can also go to icemancollections.com to get your bug on September 5th at 7 p.m.
01:02:03.840 --> 01:02:05.519
PSD or Pacific Standard Time.
01:02:05.599 --> 01:02:07.280
Oh, that's when that's gonna come live.
01:02:07.440 --> 01:02:08.400
So please do so.
01:02:08.559 --> 01:02:16.400
And if you do, let us know on Facebook, show us what you got, and maybe post a picture of what your plan might be if you have an inspiration vehicle.
01:02:16.639 --> 01:02:20.320
Like I said, I'm doing mine in Herbie style, and I think Justin's gonna do his.
01:02:20.400 --> 01:02:21.760
Was it uh beach style?
01:02:21.920 --> 01:02:24.960
Yeah, like a beach cruiser, Florida grown from Tropical Glitz.
01:02:25.119 --> 01:02:30.320
Josie Jody might be doing an homage type of build, and uh Jason's uh got a couple of good ideas.
01:02:30.480 --> 01:02:33.599
Unfortunately, I I pre-stole one of his, so sorry about that, buddy.
01:02:33.679 --> 01:02:37.119
And then uh sounds like Mikey might be working on a Doom buggy of some kind.
01:02:37.199 --> 01:02:37.840
I say Doom.
01:02:38.079 --> 01:02:38.800
Doom buggy.
01:02:39.119 --> 01:02:40.000
Doom buggy, right?
01:02:40.719 --> 01:02:43.119
So uh it's better than the Thunder Bubble.
01:02:45.599 --> 01:02:47.280
I had one of those the other night, it was rough.
01:02:47.760 --> 01:02:48.559
Yeah, I know, right?
01:02:48.880 --> 01:02:49.920
It keeps me up at night.
01:02:50.000 --> 01:02:53.360
Yeah, yeah, you'll get that thunder bubble, you'll get that within big jobs.
01:02:53.440 --> 01:02:54.079
All right, cool.
01:02:54.320 --> 01:02:56.800
You guys all take care, and we'll talk to you all in the next one.
01:02:56.880 --> 01:02:57.280
Bye now.
01:02:57.440 --> 01:02:58.159
Later, players.
01:03:00.159 --> 01:03:00.559
Bye.
01:03:05.760 --> 01:03:08.719
Thank you for listening to this episode of Model Car Mania.
01:03:09.039 --> 01:03:12.559
For more content, please visit the Model Car Mania Facebook group.
01:03:12.800 --> 01:03:16.400
Model Car Mania is a modeling and sanity production.
01:04:04.559 --> 01:04:08.079
As usual, Justin's not gonna be here until about 7 30.
01:04:08.320 --> 01:04:08.639
Okay.
01:04:08.880 --> 01:04:11.760
He's got a busy schedule, so yeah, that's fine.
01:04:12.159 --> 01:04:14.400
I can't wait to hear him talk all about his balls.
01:04:16.239 --> 01:04:17.280
I hope not.
01:04:20.639 --> 01:04:23.760
The secret is to buy a computer, it's too heavy to throw out the window.
01:04:24.000 --> 01:04:24.400
Helps me out.
01:04:24.800 --> 01:04:27.519
I can throw this, I can throw this little laptop right out the window.
01:04:28.239 --> 01:04:28.960
Yeah, exactly.
01:04:29.119 --> 01:04:29.519
Very easy.
01:04:29.679 --> 01:04:31.199
I have no problem with that.
01:04:33.199 --> 01:04:35.760
So BG, you're the one in Arizona?
01:04:36.000 --> 01:04:38.320
Yes, I'm in I'm in uh Arizona right now.
01:04:38.559 --> 01:04:39.599
In Helizona, okay.
01:04:40.880 --> 01:04:45.920
It is uh currently 195,000 degrees Celsius outside.
01:04:46.800 --> 01:04:47.519
What is the temperature?
01:04:47.920 --> 01:04:49.360
Wow, that's fucking hot.
01:04:50.239 --> 01:04:50.639
That's right.
01:04:50.960 --> 01:04:53.039
I'm in I'm in Moist Sylvania.
01:04:53.760 --> 01:04:55.280
It's also moist up here.
01:04:55.360 --> 01:04:56.400
It's very moist today.
01:04:58.079 --> 01:04:59.519
You're in New Hotshire.
01:05:01.760 --> 01:05:03.920
I don't want to tell shit about moist.
01:05:04.559 --> 01:05:05.199
Yes.
