ABOUT THIS EPISODE
In the middle of the night, a missionary family's ship faced not one but three massive tsunami waves in open ocean — the last one hitting side-on with enough force to nearly capsize them. This terrifying miracle story shows what desperate, unified prayer looks like in the face of near-certain disaster.
Ann Browning recalls being jolted awake as a crew member's screams alerted her father, the ship's captain, to a huge wave bearing down on them. He successfully steered the ship bow-first over the first two waves, but a third wave struck from the side, causing the vessel to list dangerously as everyone onboard prayed aloud. Against the odds, the ship slowly righted itself, allowing her father to continue steering them to safety. They later learned another government ship had vanished in the same tsunami, caused by a distant earthquake in Chile, without a trace.
