ABOUT THIS EPISODE
September 8, 1990 changed my life forever.
In this deeply personal episode of Midnight Maven Podcast, Kristal and I step away from our usual conversations and into a story that has been part of my life for 36 years—my mother, Judy Marie, and the unsolved mystery surrounding her disappearance.
But before Judy became a cold-case file, she was my mom.
She was a five-foot-one, spunky cowgirl with a huge heart. She was creative, fiercely loving, an animal rescuer, a woman who could look at someone else's trash and somehow turn it into treasure. She was a mother, a daughter, a friend—and a person whose life mattered.
I remember the hope I felt that day. My mom was preparing to leave an abusive marriage, and for the first time, I believed we might finally have a chance at a different life.
Then she disappeared.
Thirty-six years later, there are still questions that have never been answered. Questions that don't disappear simply because time passes.
In this episode, I share memories of my mother, the events surrounding September 8, 1990, the last time I saw her, and what it feels like to carry unanswered questions for more than half your life.
This isn't just a story about a missing woman.
It's about a mother who deserves to be remembered as more than a case number.
It's about a daughter who still wants answers.
And it's about refusing to let Judy Marie be forgotten.
Someone has to keep asking. Someone has to keep saying her name.
