TRANSCRIPT 🔗
You're listening to the After the Slide Companion episode. If you haven't listened to the full episode, called Personality Showers and World's Fair Wishes, do that now or you might be confused.
So, Natasha, I've taken a 📍 shower.
Thank God.
more than one shower, since. Our last episode.
did you?
I can confirm I do Actually get in the shower. I put the soap in my hands Um, I rub it together. I make it like body wash lathery and then Kaboom right over my heart is where I start and then I kind of go up to my shoulder And then I do the other side and then I like wash all the way down
Wow. So
I start by getting my hair wet first, then I do the shampoo, then I do the body wash part, then I rinse everything, and then I condition my hair, and then I just kind of like, you know, rinse my hair 9, 000 times, uh, um, as an excuse for Staying in the shower longer.
Soaking up all that nice hot shower water. So I do have confirmation.
Oh God. Well, I would say getting your hair wet doesn't constitute washing, but like when you put shampoo, once you put shampoo in it, that's washing. So
Yeah, so I would start with getting it wet and then I would put shampoo in it. So it is still, if I am doing a hair shower, I'm, I'm washing my hair first. But I, yeah, it's just a, it's like a, I add some extra steps. Let's just be honest. I don't want to, once I'm in there.
Yeah.
don't want to get out. 📍
Got it.
I like it.
It's warm. It's nice. It's everything.
Yeah.
So,
I. I also condition and rinse my hair out before I wash the rest of my body as well because I don't want the conditioner to get on my clean skin.
Mmm, that's interesting.
a legit top down. So I'll do, I'll like, wash my hair, put
Mm hmm.
the conditioner can like sit on my hair for a little bit longer. And then proceed with the soap also then that way like when I get out because then I like kind of ring my hair out after the conditioner and like stick it on top
Yeah.
it's like already starting to dry as I'm doing all the other bits.
I see.
Mm
I see. Yeah. I don't know. I feel like, I feel like after I put the conditioner on, even though it goes down my clean body, like, I spend enough after time in the shower that it all gets rinsed away anyway. So, yeah. Yeah.
efficient showerer. My water doesn't stay hot very long because I have an old house and an old water heater. So you do not catch me lingering in the shower.
I'm a shower linger. I'm on some, I'm on some well water with a really, really robust water heater. It's great.
Okay, well we can't all live in a mansion. With an amazing shower, or what is it, a water heater. I would like to get one of those instant water heaters someday though, like, you know, dreams, dreams. I was thinking about it, and I was curious if since the last pod, if you've been able to find out how to pronounce that weird word or find out that like Sanskrit word about like, Um, nostalgia for, like, pastimes or whatever.
Um, I did find it. Um, It's a German word actually.
Ooh.
So it's S E H N S U C H T, which is way more like consonants than any word should have. Let's just be honest. Not enough vowels. The ratio of vowels versus everything.
Did
and it's, it's
thing that tells you how to pronounce it? Like, did you, like, have it, like, read it to you? Do you know what I mean?
zin.
Yeah.
What about the
Animanapia one, uh, nimelia, anima, anomia?
Yes. That one
Why is it so slow?
It's confused by how to say it as well. Like, I don't know how to fucking say this word.
Yeah,
Anemoia. So the pronunciation is anemoia and it is Nostalgia for a time you've never known.
Anemoia. I'll never use it again, but I'm so glad I know it now.
Anemoia.
that you could take to your grave. Natasha won't know her birthday, but she'll know. What are the two things you'll know? That word and
I don't know, I forgot the other one. It'll come
what's the name of the, what's the name of the robot artist inside of chat GPT?
yeah, um, the Dolly one. Give me a second. Yeah,
Yeah, that's it. Give me a second. You just said it.
Fuck yeah, bro. Fuck yeah, bro. I it.
Okay, so I actually had a question for you. Have you given any more thought to adding a question on your dating profile about personality type ? Whether that be so you already asked the shower one. Have you thought about the Myers Briggs one.
I haven't thought about it. I feel like I don't need to, like, I think it's something that I could ask later in the dating process, but I feel like, I like your dating profile is supposed to kind of like express a little bit about who you are. Um, and I don't want to put my mind on there either. So, so I
That's a good, that's a good call.
nah, I'll leave it off.
Absolutely. I think that's a good choice. I have to say, I've really been thinking a lot about just the whole conversation that we had with personality types and color and coloring books and et cetera. And I think that it really gave me a ton of insight into me even more so than I ever knew.
Like I've always known that I'm the color, but when I looked at that, Analogy, I realized that that's why I sometimes struggle to get things structured together and move things forward because I'm always so focused on the color that sometimes maybe I need some lines.
Mm hmm. Mm hmm.
Yeah, it was kind of a, it was kind of a nice realization.
Aw, makes you like mr. Jillian even more.
Yes. Yes. He's, he's so good for me. So that was honestly probably the biggest thing that I thought about and really have given thought to is just the whole coloring book analogy. Um, what was your biggest takeaway from the last episode?
I wanted to ask you more about t Hanks giving.
T Hanksgiving is happening!
is happening this week, so I wanted to know a little bit more about t Hank's giving, like what are your plans? Like, how are you incorporating Mr. Tom Hanks into your Thursday? what I wanted to
Yes Yes, well, um, there is a movie marathon all of the adults chose a Tom Hanks movie to Have in the marathon so a few years ago one of the bucket list things What are those things? Uh, your New Year's resolutions. So, a couple years ago, I made a New Year's resolution to watch every Tom Hanks movie.
You cannot accomplish this in a year if you want to get anything else done. I don't know how the man had enough time to make them all. I can't even watch them all, okay?
He's much older than we think it must be, you know what I mean?
I've watched a good amount of Tom Hanks movies, but, um, I was like, let's do a T dot Hanksgiving. Let's do it. So we're watching Castaway. We are watching Oh, my goodness. Um, what is that movie? , that thing you do, that thing you do. Um, we're watching Forrest Gump. We are potentially watching Big. We are potentia so those first ones, those are, those are definite.
We're doing Forrest Gump, we're doing Castaway, and we're doing, um, that thing you do. Potentials are Big, Saving Private Ryan, um, Joe Wishes the Volcano,
And, um, I think that that, like six movies, two hours, that's, that should, that should do it. That should do it. That should be enough. That's enough content.
there, are any of those ones that you have not seen? You gotta,
Uh, no, I've seen
seen.
of them. I've seen all of them. Yeah, I've seen most, you know, honestly, I would have to dig really deep to find a, uh, A Tom Hanks movie that I haven't seen, but I, but yeah, I mean, I think I would be digging in the like weird movie archives at this point, because I think I've seen most of it, most of, most of his stuff.
Well,
Um,
to choose from, so.
there definitely is, there definitely is, but I also have to think about other people at Tea Hanksgiving, and I have to think about what content is going to, you know, appeal to the masses.
Okay, my kids are gonna be there.
It's Tom Hanks. The man can do no wrong.
It's Tom Hanks. Um, yeah, I mean, I,
you, you know? I mean, that's a lot of movies, so they're not going to like, watch 100%. I'm saying, just like, throw one little, uh, curveball in there. Something no one's ever seen. Get you, get you,
something that no one's ever seen. Yeah, I might,
list. Yeah.
yeah, yeah. I, you know, I need to actually, like, make a spreadsheet or something. Just to keep track of, like, what I have and haven't seen.
Yeah.
Yeah, but, I, Saving Private Ryan was definitely one that, it's been, it's been a hot minute since I've seen Saving Private Ryan, so that one would be nice to watch again.
I love a good
Uh, Mr. Jillian has never seen Cast Away.
I I'm not 100 percent sure I've seen Cast Away. I
You would have fallen asleep, Natasha, you would have fallen asleep like 10 times over in Cast Away. It's, it's a great movie, it doesn't have enough action to keep Natasha awake, okay?
I need more
Like, mm
I don't know what to tell you. Yeah, no, I think I've seen parts of it. Like, I
hmm,
the gist. And I think I've seen the parts like where he loses the ball and then gets home kind of a thing. Like, I vaguely kind of remember the majority of the end, but you're right.
I have a feeling there was some napping involved in that movie
Yeah, so originally, I just want you to know, originally, when I planned to Thanksgiving, um, at the, at the time that I planned this, I mean, all the way back in like February, March is when I added it to the calendar and I was like, yes, this is T. Thanksgiving. It's not Thanksgiving. Um, sent the invites, like the Google calendar invites and everything.
My plan was to have very, uh, Themed movies, kind of like with snacks that matched the theme. So we might have like donut balls with little red hands on it to be Wilson for Castaway. But I have to say the best laid plans, right? There's a lot going on in my life right now. I do not have time to make those themed snacks for the movie, which is really sad for me.
But, um,
going to
was the original intention.
Can we discuss what they would have been? Because I have ideas. Like, I feel like a given for Forrest Gump is, let's say it together. One, two, stramp. But
Yes.
eat that. And, oh, but he'll know why I say scram.
Scramp.
Scram. Scram.
Yes. So, obviously, like, any types of shrimp would be good there.
Yes.
probably some, you know, I mean, you could have done some, like, marijuana brownies for when Jenny was running away, like, there was corn because the corn field that she was in.
can't have corn for, for, for a scamp. It has to be for big. And it has to be those little baby cocktail corns. Remember when he like
That's right.
Mr. Corn on the cob, like the tiny
That's very true. That's very true. Yes. Um, So the kind of crazy thing is for castaway it probably also would have been shrimp, right? Or like lobster, right? Because he's on the island like catching things. I don't yeah coconut It could be like some coconut water cocktail that I could have made and they could have been served in coconuts right
Totally.
Yeah, so there would have been like some fun things big, you know what they would get fortune
Baby
cookies
Yeah.
that like out of like a like a like a fortune teller machine, right?
Connie.
The baby corn is good Saving private Ryan. I don't know if I could get some of those like dried up like Oh, it could just be like a tin of like tuna or something like some type of like ready to eat meal
Yep. Oh my gosh. Yeah, babe, you wouldn't have to make any of that. You could, like, almost all of that is, like, stuff that you could technically, like, Trader Joe's, you could just buy strips of, of coconut. buy canned corn, because that's how those little baby corns come. Like, you could just order it all and, like, it'd be, like,
Could but here's the thing we're We are having a full on Thanksgiving meal, um, so there will be 📍 turkey, there will be ham, there will be mashed potatoes, there will be, ooh, green bean casseroles out. This year, this year we are making green beans
How
on a
of you.
We're making green beans with a lemony Feta cream sauce And pistachios and pomegranates on top of that.
That is our green bean dish Okay, we are also going to have brazilian cheese bread because we do it every year and it's delicious
I love that
They're so good.
for sure. I love that stuff. Even like pre, not, I didn't want to say pre made, but like the frozen ones, I'll even eat those. They're fine. I mean, they're not like yours,
They're okay. They're okay.
they're not
Um, I told I told my children who are You know Young 11 and 13 that they were each responsible for bringing a dish
Yeah, what are they making? Italian soda?
No, they are making gluten free macaroni and cheese
No.
and Deviled eggs.
Oh, I'm very good at
Mm hmm.
It's one of the only like three things I can make. So,
I mean they're farm fresh eggs, too. So they're extra tasty, right? Although there was a request to make custard, but we're also making homemade gluten free Pecan pie and gluten free pumpkin pie.
you're making some pecan pie. Oh, my
I know! So, this brings up a really important thing. So, if it is pie, it's pecan. If it's in a cookie, it's a pecan sandwich.
Yeah.
Cute. I
So, it changes depending on how you're eating, how you're consuming it.
If you're gonna have it all by itself,
hmm.
Like, if it, if you're just having the nut, it's a pecan. If it's baked into a pie, it's a pecan.
Well, what about Caramel, Caramel, and Caramel? Which ones do you, which, which of the three are you?
Caramel. All the way. Caramel. Yeah.
I'm not sure for me. I'll have to like say it naturally one time and see what comes out. I get confused. I think I
Yeah. I say caramel almost always. I, I feel like there's an extra syllable in caramel. Um, which is weird. Uh,
So, caramel. I can't imagine a time when I would say caramel.
What about Caramel? Never,
mel? No. No, it's like realtor and real a tor. Like, I don't do it.
That's cute. Oh my goodness. What do you think else? Anything else, Sugar? Anything else from the episode?
Um, bucket list stuff. We talked a little bit about bucket list stuff. I've, I've given this a little more thought. I don't, I don't know that I necessarily have any other bucket list items, but I did kind of, you told me I needed to find some zen Um at some point in the episode and I did I kind of found some zen and I I like I was like, okay I happen to see So I'm an Android person.
I know, I know half of the country is going to hate me now. Um,
um, but I use Google photos to store my photos and it gave me this collage of myself over the past few years. It was like similar shots. And they were all of these like shots of me done up in, um, pinup because I've competed in. So many pinup competitions, which we haven't talked about too terribly much on here.
Um,
we go. Yeah.
the next thing, but I found like this zen and this lightness and just saying, okay, I'm open to seeing what the next thing is and feeling a little less stuck.
Um, With also realizing that I am kind of, honest to God, stuck for a little bit until, until, uh, you know, life decides to settle its ass down. And let me move, and like, not be stuck between two worlds, so.
Yeah. I'm glad that you found a little peace and a little zen and, you know, I realized that I forgot to send you my bucket list, like I promised. I sent it to you, but I'm kind of nervous because I do wonder, like we talked about last time, like, I don't think you're going to like any of my stuff.
That's right.
So I just sent it to you. So I'm interested to see if you've A, already done any of these. B, you even know what most of them are, or if you have any questions about them. I think maybe one of them you would do with me in particular. So I'm curious to see. I know you've at least done one of them for sure.
Yes, I've definitely
of them
done better. I've definitely done Mount Rushmore. What's the other one that you think I've done?
Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights.
I mean, yes, but I saw them from Colorado, so it was not very impressive.
No.
So I would like to actually see them, but I saw them from Colorado when, because we had so many like electrical pulses this year that you could see them really far South. And we went out, I drove, um, with my youngest. We drove
I was actually in my robe. In my pajamas with slippers on and we drove like 20 miles into the country in the middle of the damn night and I was like, then we got out and like, talked to some people like on the side of the road that were also pulled over and I was like, that really wasn't very safe for me.
That was just me and my youngest child out there.
Oh
I was like, I didn't think anything of it, but um, yeah, that was funny.
You're a very
Uh, yeah, so I would like, um, Christmas, I would like to do Christmas in Vienna. That sounds really fun.
Yeah.
You know, Vienna waits for you.
It's, it's uh, it's supposed to be 📍 very magical at Christmas time, so.
Oh, that's amazing. That sounds nice.
Yeah. So my, I try, except, well there's one on here that looks like it's not specific, but most of mine aren't like a destined, a specific destination or a specific event. At a destination. So like the only one that's on here that doesn't have it's like full thing is the St.
Lucia one, but,
Mm hmm.
that is because of their very specific resort that I want to go to with a very specific view. I want to experience I
Oh, you know what? We did talk about
pool. Yeah.
Yes, we talked about that and I was like, yes, I want to go there and you're like, it's not cheap. And I was like, I still want to go there.
And
I want to go there, but
Yeah.
I don't know that that would be a you and I thing. I think that would be you and you and you and, um, you know, a special someone.
Yes.
Not
Exactly.
staring at me like, no, you're not my lover. Sorry. Stop staring at me dog
So, speaking of traveling to St. Lucia or Vienna or any of these other places, I started telling you about my trip to Florida and I continued to tell you the story about the Spartan, but I didn't tell you.
Oh yeah. But when
About why, I don't know what, the guy that thought that I was getting human trafficked.
So, um, Mr. Jillian does such a great job taking care of me.
Mm-Hmm.
Um, so I knew we were going, the run was taking place in Central Florida. That's what it was called. It was like, it was like Central Florida Spartan Run. I'm sure that was in some town. To this day, I still don't know what town it was, but I knew that we were flying in to an airport and then we were renting a car and driving to wherever Central Florida is.
I can't remember what town it was in. It didn't matter. They just called it central Florida. There were a lot of airports that we could have flown into.
Mm
Um, I like was sitting on the plane. We had been on the plane. In the air for about 45 minutes at this point.
my god.
And I was like, where, what, what city are we landing in? And the guy in the aisle to me was like, what the fuck is happening here? And I was like, no, like which airport are we flying? It was like, are we flying into Tampa?
Are we flying into like, I don't like, I don't know. I was like,
Thank you, ma'am.
Yeah, I don't know, like, so I wasn't asking the stranger, he just overheard me asking Mr. Jillian, like, what, like, I don't know where we're going, and, like, I had to, A, get through security, get on the airplane, like, B, sitting on the airplane, like, heard everything, like, all of that, all of these things had gone on, and I didn't know where we were flying into because I just knew that we were flying from, like, To an airport in Florida, renting a car and driving to Central Florida to run this race.
an airport, Jillian? Unless you Just kidding.
You know what? I just blindly follow my man. He was like, come with me. I like, I don't even know what gate we were at.
Like, he could totally be like, Oh yeah, we're going to go run a race. And we could have been like on our way to like, Like France or something for all I knew, like, I literally paid no attention at all to what plane I was on
I
So much. I love the freedom
the guy next to me was freaked out. Like, I mean, he was like,
gosh.
is happening right now?
Like, he was like, do I, like, is there everything okay over here is like, and was this a sign that I need to call somebody? Like, I mean, it was very. Yeah, I still don't remember where we flew into. I feel like it was well, I don't know. I don't know
only did I not know then, I don't know now. I also don't know where we went
now.
race. She's like, I did run, so therefore the race did happen, but I don't know where I was.
You know what? I think we did fly into Tampa because it was on that side. And then,
uh,
we flew into Tampa and then, I mean, it could've been Winterhaven. Winterhaven might've been it. It was swampy, I can tell you that. It was out in the middle of damn ass nowhere too.
Florida.
Yeah.
The majority of Florida is like that. It's just out when you're not at the coast, you're in the swamp. Well,
Who knows.
safely.
I did.
I'm glad you have
I did.
in Mr. Jillian. And
I
You can just be like, wherever we're going, it's
don't know.
Oh my gosh. Adorable.
You know, up until this point, Natasha, I, I haven't had a fun trip to Florida. The first time I went to Florida, I took my children. Um, we flew into Fort Lauderdale. And then we drove up to Port St, uh, Port St. Lucy and like went to the all inclusive resort there.
hmm.
And, um, our flight was delayed 36 hours
Mm
to depart from Denver to get to Florida. So a 36 hour flight delay. So the trip was way shorter than it should have been. And then when we got to Florida, it rained the entire time. Like it was cold, cold, cold, and rainy the whole time.
Well, what do you think happens in Florida? It rains there.
But yeah, I don't know. Anyway, so it was like nonstop freezing cold rain, and we didn't like the whole point was I wanted to take them on a trip to that was their first trip to see the ocean at all. And it was, I took them solo. So I was like really excited to take them to see the ocean. And the whole time it was like windy, cold, awful rain, and we were delayed 36 hours, so it was a shorter window of time that we were there.
And then, um, the second time I went, I had to run a half marathon and
Gross. Life
I haven't. I haven't been back yet, so I, I need a, I need a fun trip,
Why?
trip to Florida.
It's,
I don't, I don't know.
It's overrated. Just
Well then mark it off in my bucket!
Yeah,
that sounds better. I
to Mexico. Cheaper, boozier from what I've heard. I don't know.
was just excited to get Florida, like, marked off my list. Um, the only states that I have left now is, um, Arkansas, which is ridiculous because I was just in Memphis and we didn't go across like the, like we could have went to West Memphis.
Yeah,
been in Arkansas
Yeah.
uh, yeah. So like I, Arkansas and, um, Louisiana and Alaska is all I have left.
Norlands. New
I know. Other than that, I've been to all the states now.
Dang,
Yeah. Yeah. So
I've
not a lot left on the bucket list.
I know that's a big thing. Like, that is a bucket list thing, right? Like seeing all, all U. S. states. And that's not something I care about for some reason. And I don't know why, because I feel like it's a good one to like have.
You know, I think um, we went on a lot of road trips when I was young. That was our vacations were road trips and, um, Anywhere that we went covered like all the states because we lived so far. Right? So we went through like a lot of states on road trips and, and um, Yeah, so like, I had most of them kind of knocked out before I was even an adult, and, you know, then I kind of started keeping track of the ones that were left, but I don't know that I was like, oh my god, I need to go to all the states.
I think when I went to Hawaii, that got really exciting because I was like, oh, I didn't realize I was going to mark that one off. And so then it started to get a little more exciting, right?
I, I should, I should look to see how many states I've been in. I haven't even thought of it. even thought like how far along the, maybe, maybe it's like enough of them that I, just, like, knock out the rest. Huh.
Well, that's kind of where I'm at. So I'm like, okay, well, I don't have many left. And so then I started keeping track of like, oh, okay, now I've got Alaska. Now I've got this. There was like, up until a few years ago, I think I had, like, I hadn't been to Texas until you moved there. My first trip to Texas. Was to come visit you.
And then you went there at least another at least a couple more times after that.
I've been there a bunch now. Yeah.
Oh, shit. Yeah, I'm gonna
But
out where all I've been.
well, you know, you and I are supposed to go to, I want to say it's in Alabama. It's the lost baggage place.
right! I forgot about that! Oh my god. Yes! We gotta go! And then there will
We got to go.
Alabama. Shit. Fuck yeah. Let's
I think it's Alabama. It might be in Tennessee as well. Like, but I feel like it was in Alabama. But,
somebody who's taking a road trip to Arkansas in January, so, FYI. Bye. Bye.
Does not sound fun. Um,
But you
I'll
it off your list. It's not me.
just fly there. It's cool. I'll just fly there.
Oh, that's funny.
Well, I gotta be honest, I think that's all that I had from the last We talked about a lot of stuff, but we didn't leave a lot of hanging items.
I have a feeling I know what happened. I feel like you cheated. I feel like there were no garden gummies. I got this sense that you were garden gummy list on the pod
Well I am Garden Gummy less. I was. Um, you see, I am applying for some jobby jobs. And I was applying for a couple that I knew for a fact had pre employment testing. So I, I was like, okay, I've got to take a little break on the Garden Gummy
Got
a little bit. So
enough. Fair enough.
may not have Garden Gummy Jillian
okay.
until, until things settle in.
And I know what everything looks like, you know?
Fair enough. Fair enough. Well, that might be it. I just wanted to tell all of our mamas and daddies to have a safe and happy holiday this upcoming week and we'll be back the following Tuesday.
Yes. Happy T Hanksgiving.
Until then, bye.
Bye.
