ABOUT THIS EPISODE
What if getting older didn’t mean becoming weaker—but becoming more intentional, resilient and fully yourself?
In this inspiring episode of Mature Allure, Sherri O. talks with Jerzy Gregorek, four-time World Weightlifting Champion, poet, political refugee and co-creator of The Happy Body. Jerzy shares his extraordinary journey from alcoholism and fighting for freedom in Poland to rebuilding his life in America and helping others become stronger in mind, body and spirit.
Guided by his powerful philosophy, “Hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life,” Jerzy explains why lasting change begins with accepting where you are, identifying what you truly want, and committing to small, consistent improvements. He and Sherri explore the physical changes women often experience after 40, emotional eating, healthy aging, finding purpose in midlife, and breaking free from the cycle of repeatedly starting over.
You’ll also learn:
- Why exercising harder isn’t always the answer after 40
- How “micro-progression” can create meaningful, lasting results
- Why emotional eating is often connected to comfort and celebration
- How breathing can calm the body and return you to the present moment
- Why creativity is essential for personal growth and emotional well-being
- How to pursue meaningful goals while enjoying the process
- What aging gracefully truly requires beyond simply staying positive
- Why appreciating small improvements can transform your relationship with aging
Jerzy’s story is a powerful reminder that the time will pass anyway—and it is never too late to use that time to become stronger, healthier and more fulfilled.
