ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Is data really the new steroids? In this special off-season episode of the Made by Challenge podcast, Alberto sits down with Jonathan Carvajal (JC), founder of the Optimal Performance Group, to debunk the myths behind the recent "data is not steroids" controversy at the Australian Open.
We dive deep into the world of health trackers (like Whoop), discussing whether constant monitoring gives you an unfair advantage or just disconnects you from your own body. JC breaks down his "Win from Within" philosophy, explaining why human beings aren't meant to be "optimized" like machines, but rather meant to live extraordinary lives.
In this episode, you will learn:
- The Data Trap: Why elite athletes like Carlos Alcaraz use data for feedback, not to dictate their decision-making.
- The #1 Metric to Track: Why Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is the most critical indicator of your cardiovascular health and recovery.
- Escaping Hustle Culture: How to redefine "productivity" and "success" on your own terms so you don't burn out.
- Simple "Biohacks": Why you should ditch the tracker for a pen and paper, get morning sunlight, and narrow your sleep window before buying expensive tech.
Jonathan Carvajal (JC) is a strategist and high-performance coach who works with elite athletes and leaders to help them win from the inside out.
