00:00:13
Speaker 1: Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ. Shout out to the Ticket in Detroit and Woodward Sports. Woodward Sports does a lot of good kind of. The podcasts that are live, though, Boney, I don't really know what I'm talking about here.
00:00:28
Speaker 2: I sound like an ung, where they take calls and stuff. It's really good stuff.
00:00:33
Speaker 1: They had the guy getting real mad. He got called, I think it was Gooch that called him Detroit Willie. Says he sounds like Detroit going eight Mickeys during a goal call. And he.
00:00:47
Speaker 2: That guy was angry. I will be honest, though, Bo. Gooch also said he makes dry brats. That's the Detroit version.
00:00:53
Speaker 1: The Detroit Williams for those infamous dry brats. I will say this, though. When the guy was rattling off how the Lions are last in every statistical category on defense, I did have a flashback to our show two years ago. I'm not going to lie to you. We have been there before. I don't want to touch the money, but just work with me here. If we're able to put together– Adam Gold coming up here in a second, Mac. If we're able to put together a Philly montage in a couple weeks. We did one before when they beat us and they were angry. They were angry they didn't beat us by enough. That could be all-time anger, the way they're feeling if they lose to– They could very well lose to Jacksonville this week, right? And then we could be their third straight loss. That could be the most unhinged audio ever played. I feel like it would be. I feel like every time that we start fantasizing about what a montage of misery would sound like, we lose the game.
00:01:47
Speaker 2: Stop doing it then. Oh, God.
00:01:49
Speaker 1: A lot of people asking Bone, the woman that they think is Granny Pat in the Detroit montage of misery.
00:01:56
Speaker 2: A lot of people... wondering what is going on there, Bo. You know anything about this?
00:02:04
Speaker 1: No, that's just the audio that was pulled. That's a caller to Detroit Radio. It's amazing the way they can sound like our listeners sometimes. No, I didn't even really notice it. Or the host sounded like Willie, one of the callers sounded like Randy.
00:02:14
Speaker 2: That's amazing. All right, anyway, let's do it, baby. Let's get to Goldie. We got to talk. We're on Gold! We got to talk about.
00:02:21
Speaker 1: NC State's big win against Louisville, their big game against Wake in Raleigh.
00:02:25
Speaker 2: We got to talk Canes.
00:02:27
Speaker 1: It's all happening with Adam Gold right now, 99-9 to fan in Raleigh. And, of course, you can hear him weeknights at 7 o'clock here on WFNZ. Goldie, how you feeling, man?
00:02:36
Speaker 2: What's going on?
00:02:39
Speaker 3: I feel great. It's a beautiful day. Yeah, I feel great. It's a beautiful day. I'm skipping.
00:02:49
Speaker 4: Like the old record.
00:02:50
Speaker 2: Dodie, you've got to be a big fall winter weather guy, right?
00:02:54
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the best season. It's better than every other season. Fall weather is the best.
00:03:00
Speaker 1: I agree with you. I agree with you 100%. Now, are you coming to Charlotte this week? Are you hopping on the train for the ACC tip-off at all this week or no?
00:03:11
Speaker 3: No.
00:03:16
Speaker 1: Could you sound less happy about that, Goldie?
00:03:18
Speaker 2: I was hoping to see you.
00:03:21
Speaker 3: You know what? If I could just come down and hang with you guys, that would be fine. But, man, I'm not college basketball. We're not starting for another month. Why am I talking about it now? I got 16 different things. I can't even work in. Sham FC into my conversation on the show. Oh, hold on.
00:03:42
Speaker 2: Watch yourself now. Watch yourself.
00:03:44
Speaker 1: I know it's Man City, Liverpool week. I know it's Man City, Liverpool week. Watch yourself.
00:03:48
Speaker 2: Goldie, get to Stanley Cup.
00:03:49
Speaker 1: Appealing, appealing and adamantly denying still, Goldie. Goldie, get to Stanley Cup. Put it on the train and come see us. You don't want to leave the.
00:03:55
Speaker 2: Cup, do you? That's the problem.
00:03:57
Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. The cup is secured.
00:04:00
Speaker 1: So, Goldie, let's get focused here, Goldie. Enough of those pot shots. Let's focus.
00:04:05
Speaker 2: Let's start with the Canes.
00:04:08
Speaker 1: It might have been wrapped up in football this weekend, Goldie, while the Canes were playing their second and third game of the season. What are your thoughts now of the Canes? We watched the opener, and that game was a bit ugly, and the disappointing way they lost it in the final seconds of overtime. What have the first three games been like for the Canes?
00:04:31
Speaker 3: First one was a pillow fight between basically the two best teams in the East. Second game was Carolina got horrific goaltending, unfortunately. Didn't play a great game, but the margin was about their goalie was really good and Carolina's goalie was simply not. I love Brandon Bussey, but that was a rough night. And then they got back to their game in Philly on Saturday night. It needed overtime, but every Hurricanes-Flyers game goes to overtime.
00:05:06
Speaker 4: What was it?
00:05:06
Speaker 3: I'm trying to think. Seven of the last nine games between these two teams have gone to overtime. No joke. Which includes all, you know, the four playoff games, two of which were settled in overtime. But Carolina looked like Carolina. And that's what we're looking for. And tonight in Montreal, I think will be a really good test because I think the Canadians are excellent. and it should be a fun game.
00:05:33
Speaker 1: Goldie, what was your assessment of the Panthers' performance on Sunday night, specifically Bryce? The MVP chants are raining down. What did you think of that game, what they did on the national stage?
00:05:47
Speaker 3: Well, there were so many good things about it. Bryce and Teterow and McMillan were just ridiculous. I think it's a bad defense. Detroit's got a bad defense. And in three of the four games that they've played, they've really gone up against bad defenses. The Browns' defense was good, really good, actually. The corners are good for Cleveland, and it was a little bit more of a slog offensively. But, man, Bryce looks like the thing. And we know how good Tedderow and McMillan is going to be. And I tried to type out on Twitter in the third quarter that, Nine plus four equals like a hundred million dollars. But it just kept defaulting to 13. And I'm like, I can't make the joke, Elon, if you won't let me. How much money are they going to get? Like they're both going to get paid basically at the same time. McMillan, you can't even extend him until after next year. Bryce is going to get his deal. For all we know, they'll sign it during this season.
00:07:04
Speaker 4: They should.
00:07:06
Speaker 3: If I were the Panthers, I would get to it as soon as possible. Certainly before another quarterback gets paid, although I can't think of another quarterback that's about to get paid. But Bryce is your guy. He's proven that.
00:07:20
Speaker 2: You've got Stroud. You've got Caleb Williams.
00:07:23
Speaker 1: Caleb's got to wait until the end of the year, but Stroud's a guy. Drake May and Nix would be after the year with Caleb Williams.
00:07:32
Speaker 2: Get to it soon.
00:07:33
Speaker 1: Get to it before those guys do it. That's not a bad point. You know what I mean? The market's only going to go up. And haven't they seen enough that when he plays at this level? I would agree with you. Goldie, what do you think of twofold? NC State, what did you think of their win the other day against the Cardinals? And then secondly, what do you think about that wake matchup in Raleigh on Saturday?
00:08:01
Speaker 2: Man, that one now has some juice to it.
00:08:03
Speaker 4: Yeah, before I get to the state stuff, shouts to the Panthers' defense for just hanging in there.
00:08:15
Speaker 3: The red zone defense was good. Yeah, late they made it interesting, but I thought that was a very good defensive effort.
00:08:24
Speaker 2: Heck yeah.
00:08:26
Speaker 3: NC state did what NC state does, right? Just when you think they're there, they're ready to pack it in. They, they would a great game against a really good team. I've heard some people throw shade, but you know, it's just a two and three team. I'm like, have you seen Louisville schedule? I mean, Louisville schedule was tough, right? They, first of all, they beat SMU weights legitimately good. So that, that, That loss by the Cardinals, that is not a bad loss. They lost to Ole Miss by just one score. Louisville's a good team. That is a very good win for NC State. And maybe they don't win the game if they finish the deal against Vanderbilt. But when we looked at NC State's schedule at the beginning of the year, we thought, man, if they could be 4-1... after five games, they'd be in great shape. Well, they're 3-2, and they should have beaten Vandy. So, you know, I don't know how to process it other than this is NC State football. And, I mean, I like the program. I respect Dave. I love Salty Dave because he's just entertaining as all get out. And, look, I think this is going to be a hard game. because Wake is legit. I still don't think State's defense is all that good. I anticipate another high-scoring game. You know what? If NC State wants to play... Big 12 football, I'm here for it. I like the entertainment value of it. So State-Wake should be fun.
00:10:07
Speaker 1: It should be, man. I'm looking forward to that one. That's going to be sweet. All right, Goldie, you are the man. It's good to hear from you, dude. Well, I guess we didn't hear from you. We called him.
00:10:16
Speaker 2: I guess.
00:10:16
Speaker 1: Anyway, good to talk to you is what the hell I'm trying to say. Goldie, keep up the good work, brother. We'll talk to you next week.
00:10:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, go. You never walk alone, right?
00:10:27
Speaker 2: Watch yourself. Oh, I hope Man City wins.
00:10:29
Speaker 1: I'm chirping next week if Man City wins.
00:10:33
Speaker 2: All right. I know the whole league's rooting for you, though. I understand that.
00:10:36
Speaker 3: Sham City.
00:10:37
Speaker 2: All right. Drop this, man. Drop this, man. This is tough. All right. There's Adam Gold right there.
