ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Can South Carolina football actually fix its problems before the 2026 season completely gets away from Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks?
SEC Network analyst and former Florida Gators star Chris Doering joins Locked On Gamecocks to break down what has gone wrong for South Carolina, what needs to change immediately, and whether this team is really as far away as its SEC record suggests.
South Carolina’s offense has actually produced at a much higher level than many expected, but costly mistakes continue to kill drives.
Meanwhile, a defense that was expected to be one of the strengths of this team has become arguably its biggest problem.
Chris Marler and Chris Doering discuss the Gamecocks’ defensive breakdowns, missed assignments, Nick Harbor, LaNorris Sellers, questionable fourth-down decisions, Shane Beamer’s job security and why Doering believes Beamer has NOT lost the locker room.
Then, we dive deeper into Clayton White and the South Carolina defense. After years of strong defensive play under White, the Gamecocks have suddenly fallen near the bottom of the SEC in several major categories. Does Shane Beamer need to consider a major change on his staff? Could someone else eventually take over defensive play-calling? And what can actually be fixed before the upcoming Florida game and bye week?
