ABOUT THIS EPISODE
With David Mirković sidelined, could the 6-foot-9 freshman carve out an early role in Brad Underwood's rotation?
Illinois released its first extended look at Landon Davis during offseason workouts, and we break down the footage together. Davis arrived as a developmental prospect, but his size and willingness to shoot from three immediately stand out. Could he provide the Illini with valuable minutes while Mirković is unavailable?
We discuss Davis' shooting mechanics, physical development, defensive potential and what he would need to show to earn minutes in Brad and Tyler Underwood's offense.
Plus, Illinois football received some difficult injury news. Wide receiver Alex Perry is expected to undergo surgery for a nerve issue in his shoulder, and Bret Bielema is preparing as though Perry may miss the season.
We explain why losing Perry matters despite Illinois' talented wide receiver room, what late addition Josh Lorick brings to the roster and which Illini receivers could see expanded opportunities.
Finally, former Illinois star Devon Witherspoon just became the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history after agreeing to a massive extension with the Seattle Seahawks.
