00:00:48.200 --> 00:00:54.359
Hi there, welcome to Life Between Coasts, the podcast where we dive into our personal journeys connected through synchronicity.
00:00:54.439 --> 00:00:57.480
So grab your coffee, light a candle, and let's begin.
00:00:57.640 --> 00:01:00.280
I'm your host, Leah, and we're glad you're here.
00:01:00.439 --> 00:01:02.200
Today we're sitting down with Anthony.
00:01:02.359 --> 00:01:02.679
Welcome.
00:01:02.920 --> 00:01:03.560
How are you today?
00:01:04.120 --> 00:01:04.840
Great, thank you for having me.
00:01:05.079 --> 00:01:06.120
Excellent, and excellent.
00:01:06.200 --> 00:01:08.920
So I'm I'm really excited to hear about your story.
00:01:09.079 --> 00:01:18.039
I've kind of briefly read um, you know, uh a little bit of a biography, but just not all the details, and so I'm excited to to learn those details.
00:01:18.200 --> 00:01:20.599
So take the floor, tell me, tell me all about you.
00:01:20.840 --> 00:01:21.719
Yeah, absolutely.
00:01:21.879 --> 00:01:27.640
So basically, I had a Lyme disease diagnosis that lasted for a period of six years, right?
00:01:27.799 --> 00:01:30.760
And within this, I was experiencing all the symptoms you can imagine.
00:01:30.840 --> 00:01:35.000
So I had joint pain, I had thyroid issues, spharomyalgia, I can go down the line essentially, right?
00:01:35.640 --> 00:01:38.200
But I was in an extreme state of suffering, right?
00:01:38.359 --> 00:01:41.879
And very quickly on I realized I had two choices within that.
00:01:41.960 --> 00:01:45.560
You know, I can either be a victim or the victor, the victor of the circumstances, right?
00:01:45.719 --> 00:01:52.280
So what that means is, you know, being a victim, that'll lead to listening to two external voices and reasons why you can't.
00:01:52.439 --> 00:01:54.280
This is just how it's gonna be, right?
00:01:54.760 --> 00:01:57.159
Or you can choose the path of empowerment.
00:01:57.240 --> 00:01:57.320
Right.
00:01:57.560 --> 00:01:58.840
Here's the path to being a victor, right?
00:01:58.920 --> 00:01:59.879
And that's what I did.
00:02:00.120 --> 00:02:04.760
And, you know, I really had to make a decision with myself that I'm going to get well.
00:02:04.920 --> 00:02:09.400
Like I had to make an internal conviction that no matter what happens, I'm going to get well, right?
00:02:09.479 --> 00:02:11.719
And there's going to be challenges, there's going to be obstacles, right?
00:02:12.280 --> 00:02:16.039
And I started to embrace it and I realized that hey, it's not just about me.
00:02:16.359 --> 00:02:21.400
It's now I can get to the other side of this and help as many people as I possibly can, right?
00:02:21.799 --> 00:02:24.120
And it took me six long years.
00:02:24.519 --> 00:02:27.159
And knowing what I own now would take me six months.
00:02:27.719 --> 00:02:34.920
Because that process, you learn so much and you kind of afford your character in a sense to live your life mentally, right?
00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:38.920
Because I believe like all these things don't necessarily happen to us, but happen for us.
00:02:39.319 --> 00:02:40.920
And we get to decide what it means.
00:02:41.319 --> 00:02:50.360
And going through all these circumstances, trials, and tribulations, I realize that hey, it's like now I'm on their side of it, and I'm on fire to help as many people as I possibly can, right?
00:02:50.599 --> 00:02:55.719
To take control of their health and their mind because I know what it's like not to feel well.
00:02:56.120 --> 00:02:58.840
And being on the side of it is a totally another way of being, right?
00:02:58.920 --> 00:03:02.120
So that's what I do every single day, and it's such an honor to do it, right?
00:03:02.280 --> 00:03:04.920
Because that's all I wanted was to do that.
00:03:05.000 --> 00:03:06.039
Now I'm doing it, right?
00:03:06.120 --> 00:03:06.360
Right.
00:03:06.520 --> 00:03:09.879
And it's it's what's about it's about being a life for what's possible.
00:03:10.039 --> 00:03:11.240
And so we do every day.
00:03:11.479 --> 00:03:11.719
Right.
00:03:11.960 --> 00:03:17.080
So now uh how um how long ago was your first diagnosis?
00:03:17.400 --> 00:03:19.560
So I had diagnosed when I was 16.
00:03:19.719 --> 00:03:19.960
Okay.
00:03:20.120 --> 00:03:24.280
And then it took me about six years from there in order to just consider myself whole.
00:03:24.759 --> 00:03:25.000
Right.
00:03:25.080 --> 00:03:30.759
And then and how long were you suffering with symptoms before being diagnosed?
00:03:31.319 --> 00:03:37.879
So I know that when I first started experiencing symptoms, like I kind of like to push it to the side.
00:03:37.960 --> 00:03:42.039
It's like because even before that, I was just I was really into personal development, even back then, right?
00:03:42.120 --> 00:03:45.000
So I was kind of like developing my mind and all these different things.
00:03:45.319 --> 00:03:47.479
And I just thought it was it's just pass.
00:03:47.719 --> 00:03:53.800
But as the months progressed, it continually got worse until the point I'm like, hey, something is very wrong here, right?
00:03:53.960 --> 00:03:54.199
Right.
00:03:54.439 --> 00:04:06.520
And I didn't know what it was, and I would say it was it was actually pretty close, uh, which is usually uncommon for Lyme disease to get diagnosed quickly because there's so many different things, so many different pieces to it, right?
00:04:06.599 --> 00:04:08.920
So a lot of times we don't know the cause.
00:04:09.080 --> 00:04:14.840
But thankfully, I kind of bypassed the medical system in many ways, um, which of course has its place.
00:04:14.920 --> 00:04:16.360
Like it's it's great for many things, right?
00:04:16.439 --> 00:04:16.759
Right.
00:04:17.000 --> 00:04:23.000
But I kind of knew where to go and I got um diagnosed rather quickly, so that was kind of a relief.
00:04:23.240 --> 00:04:25.639
And also it's like, okay, what's next, right?
00:04:25.719 --> 00:04:27.959
Because I didn't I didn't know much about wellness at the time.
00:04:28.120 --> 00:04:28.279
Right.
00:04:28.439 --> 00:04:30.920
So it's like like where's all the challenges?
00:04:31.000 --> 00:04:34.120
And I was like, I was ready to I was ready to like kind of heal from there.
00:04:34.360 --> 00:04:35.639
What were your first symptoms?
00:04:36.120 --> 00:04:45.480
Join me, like yeah, because I was an athlete, like I play football, and all of a sudden I'm waking up stiff, I'm like, I feel very old.
00:04:45.800 --> 00:04:47.480
And this is this is not normal.
00:04:47.639 --> 00:04:51.240
I can't move, I can't I was very fast, now I'm I'm not.
00:04:51.399 --> 00:04:51.560
Right.
00:04:51.800 --> 00:04:54.040
So it's like what this is this is wrong.
00:04:54.439 --> 00:04:54.600
Right.
00:04:54.680 --> 00:05:02.920
Well well and and when you're 16, I mean you should be nimble and just jumping all over the place and and you know, limber and and things and not thinking about that.
00:05:03.079 --> 00:05:14.120
Do you now do you think you would do you know where you'd gotten bitten by a tick or yeah, so isn't it's interesting because I remember being eight years old and I had a tick, right year.
00:05:14.360 --> 00:05:14.439
Right.
00:05:14.759 --> 00:05:22.519
Now the thing with Fyme disease, I said just because you get bit by something, and whether it's a tick or even mosquitoes, like doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get it.
00:05:22.680 --> 00:05:22.920
Right.
00:05:23.079 --> 00:05:25.399
It really comes down to the immune system, right?
00:05:25.560 --> 00:05:32.600
And well, a lot of times people get bit by ticks, they get bit by things when they're when they're young, playing the forest and whatnot, everything is fine, nothing happens.
00:05:32.759 --> 00:05:36.920
But with Lyme disease, the the virus, it kind of stays dormant within our systems, right?
00:05:37.079 --> 00:05:38.680
But our immune system can handle it.
00:05:38.839 --> 00:05:43.319
So nothing you will not be presented with any type of negative symptoms or anything like that.
00:05:43.480 --> 00:05:54.839
However, what happens is that as you go down the line, as you kind of uh advance with this like um like the standard American lifestyle where you're kind of all processed food and all these different types of things, your immune system gets compromised.
00:05:55.240 --> 00:05:58.439
And now you're no longer able to handle what it once was.
00:05:58.519 --> 00:06:00.439
Right so it kind of grows into these different symptoms, right?
00:06:00.519 --> 00:06:01.720
And that's what the case was for me.
00:06:01.800 --> 00:06:10.759
I mean, I care about my health, I care about different things, but there's I was dealing with a lot of stress, like looking back at a lot of like things going on, and I didn't really know how to handle it.
00:06:10.920 --> 00:06:14.600
And as much as like I was into wellness, there's so much I didn't know.
00:06:14.759 --> 00:06:17.319
So I was like, I was You're a kid, essentially.
00:06:17.560 --> 00:06:20.280
You know, it's like I mean, because even in sports, they do teach.
00:06:20.360 --> 00:06:37.959
I would say that they probably teach you more being an athlete in you know high school and that about putting the right things into your body, yeah, um, and teaching you about health and diet and things like that, there you're probably a little bit more in tune than the average person, um, because that that's something that they don't even teach in medical school.
00:06:38.120 --> 00:06:38.199
No.
00:06:38.519 --> 00:06:39.399
Nutrition and diet.
00:06:39.639 --> 00:06:40.439
Yeah, unfortunately.
00:06:40.519 --> 00:06:47.399
I mean, hopefully things are changing, but uh yeah, you said it's like there's nothing uh required about nutrition to become a doctor, which doesn't make any sense.
00:06:47.639 --> 00:06:47.959
No.
00:06:49.079 --> 00:06:50.040
Go figure.
00:06:50.439 --> 00:06:51.160
Very strange.
00:06:51.879 --> 00:06:55.319
But now, so did you have any like comorbidities?
00:06:55.399 --> 00:06:58.280
Did you have like other infections or just the Lyme disease?
00:06:58.519 --> 00:07:04.439
Yeah, so eventually I realized I had a Hashimoto's, which is like a autoimmune disease of a thyroid.
00:07:04.519 --> 00:07:11.000
So basically, um autoimmune disease is when your body kind of recognizes your tissue as form, it starts to kind of attack that.
00:07:11.079 --> 00:07:20.120
Whatever it is, whether it's Hashimoto's, whether it's uh arthritis, colitis, whatever it is, kind of depends on uh genetic predispositions as well.
00:07:20.199 --> 00:07:27.160
So it may uh come in with like a certain lifestyle, but then maybe your genes may be activated based off your own particular genetic makeup, right?
00:07:27.319 --> 00:07:32.280
So Hashimoto's those are two main things.
00:07:32.360 --> 00:07:39.800
Like um, like you can kind of look at these symptoms like arthritis and all these things as diseases themselves synthesized, but they're kind of symptoms of the main thing, right?
00:07:40.120 --> 00:07:40.360
Right.
00:07:40.439 --> 00:07:50.680
Well, and that's and I think that that's the hardest thing to explain because you know, um the listening audience knows that that was my my thing.
00:07:50.839 --> 00:07:58.839
Uh the the Lyme disease factor um w was what I was misdiagnosed for because mine came on right in the middle of COVID.
00:07:58.920 --> 00:08:01.160
So everything met COVID standards, you know.
00:08:01.319 --> 00:08:11.959
So you've got COVID and then it's you've got fibromyalgia, and then it's finally, you know, um figuring it out um and and going in, and so I took a a a different route.
00:08:12.120 --> 00:08:16.600
Mine was through via the today show and how I found out I had Lyme disease.
00:08:17.160 --> 00:08:17.639
That's interesting.
00:08:18.120 --> 00:08:19.720
Um it's it is, it is.
00:08:20.120 --> 00:08:21.560
It's just one of those things.
00:08:21.639 --> 00:08:29.480
Um but um uh it it's just what pointed me in the right direction to know, um, because that was one place that I wasn't looking.
00:08:29.800 --> 00:08:33.720
And um, but that's why I asked what the symptoms are, because they overlap.
00:08:33.799 --> 00:08:42.600
I mean, they talk about it's it's what 50 to 100 different other things that can be diet you could be diagnosed with, those symptoms overlap with.
00:08:42.679 --> 00:08:57.639
And you're right, because all of a sudden something that you think that you're okay with flares up because this little spiral uh little infection is you know, stupid little thing that hides in your cells decides that it wants to attack you that day.
00:08:57.959 --> 00:08:58.519
Exactly.
00:08:58.679 --> 00:09:09.479
And that could be for different reasons, like because there's uh like different bacteria based off with individual, because there's no lime bees that's gonna be exactly the same for each individual, right?
00:09:09.559 --> 00:09:20.279
So you have different uh cobacteria in a sense, like uh there's different like your Partnella, you have like basically all these different things, and people may have different things and may have none at all, like they're called cone infections in a sense, right?
00:09:20.359 --> 00:09:24.119
So just being able to even test for those can be helpful, right?
00:09:24.359 --> 00:09:29.159
But then kind of like personalizing your path based off your own individual needs, I think that's the key for sure.
00:09:29.399 --> 00:09:29.799
Right.
00:09:30.039 --> 00:09:31.079
Now, what did you find?
00:09:31.239 --> 00:09:37.559
So, as you're going through this, so um what did now going through your journey of of wellness and and figuring this out?
00:09:37.639 --> 00:09:41.879
So, what did you find as you started that journey?
00:09:42.119 --> 00:09:45.239
What did you find that you were doing wrong and what you needed to change?
00:09:45.479 --> 00:09:45.959
Yeah.
00:09:46.199 --> 00:09:49.799
So with chronic disease, especially Lyme, it all comes down to lifestyle, right?
00:09:49.879 --> 00:09:56.119
So we're talking sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, everything works together in synergy, right?
00:09:56.199 --> 00:10:07.559
Now you may be doing some things well, and it's going to be beneficial, but uh it really comes down to holistic wellness, and we're talking regressing like the mind, body connection, regressing emotions, everything is interconnected, right?
00:10:07.719 --> 00:10:11.399
And a lot of times, if we're just getting started, that can be seemed overwhelming, right?
00:10:11.479 --> 00:10:12.919
Because there's so many different factors, right?
00:10:13.159 --> 00:10:22.839
So it goes really goes down to the small wins on a day-to-day basis, like making progress in these different things, like okay, coming down to self-awareness, like what disease do I have?
00:10:23.239 --> 00:10:27.399
Like what and what are the symptoms that I'm experiencing, and what are my goals, right?
00:10:27.719 --> 00:10:30.439
And putting a plan together from there, right?
00:10:30.599 --> 00:10:36.519
So talk about these things, like the fundamentals I mentioned.
00:10:36.919 --> 00:10:39.719
Now there are certain principles that make these things work together.
00:10:40.039 --> 00:10:46.519
So there are certain foundational principles of nutrition, of sleep, of exercise, stress management that make these things work together, right?
00:10:46.599 --> 00:10:57.319
So for me, I mean I ask myself that question uh often, and the number one thing that actually helped me get well is actually becoming real within myself.
00:10:57.559 --> 00:10:58.519
Now, here's what I mean.
00:10:58.599 --> 00:11:02.039
It's like becoming the greatest version of yourself every single day, right?
00:11:02.199 --> 00:11:05.799
Living on purpose, growth, service, all these things that work together, right?
00:11:05.959 --> 00:11:13.399
Right, because it's there's so much interesting research showing how purpose has huge impact on overwhelming.
00:11:13.639 --> 00:11:17.000
But I'm not just after health, I'm after becoming the greatest version of you, right?
00:11:17.079 --> 00:11:23.239
So living up to your full potential, like being of service, you know, living with honor, integrity, all these things, developing your character.
00:11:23.479 --> 00:11:25.799
And you kind of like realize that hey, everything is connected.
00:11:25.879 --> 00:11:29.159
So optimizing your health, your wealth, relationships, everything works together.
00:11:29.559 --> 00:11:29.719
Right?
00:11:29.879 --> 00:11:31.399
That was the number one thing for me.
00:11:31.799 --> 00:11:36.279
Because like overcoming like emotional things, it all all comes together, like a lot of race.
00:11:36.439 --> 00:11:41.959
But of course, like you have to optimize like nutrition, sleep, exercise, and just getting in nature.
00:11:42.039 --> 00:11:46.439
And I can talk about like those in detail, but it's like it's really the basics of it.
00:11:46.679 --> 00:11:58.119
And when you overcome like your own like your own past beliefs, uh trauma, whatever it is, is you kind of like make it a lot easier to heal, kind of like setting the environment to uh heal in a sense.
00:11:58.359 --> 00:11:58.599
Right.
00:11:58.759 --> 00:12:03.719
Well you're right, because you know, you don't want to healing's not an overnight thing.
00:12:03.879 --> 00:12:06.199
No, it's it's a journey, it's a path.
00:12:06.359 --> 00:12:08.919
You start on and it's it's something that you continue fully.
00:12:09.079 --> 00:12:14.599
You know, I think through it's part of you know, part of you until till the end.
00:12:14.679 --> 00:12:26.679
Um there's always something that you can I not necessarily improve, but it's always something that you can do to to um you know, it's it's comes down to the better choices, you know.
00:12:26.839 --> 00:12:32.039
A bag of Doritos versus a banana and an apple, you know, it's just yeah, it's not about being perfect anyway.
00:12:32.439 --> 00:12:32.519
Right.
00:12:33.079 --> 00:12:39.639
Oh no, because I'll eat the Doritos, don't get me wrong, but most often I'll eat the the fruit and things because I see what it does to my body.
00:12:39.719 --> 00:12:39.879
Yeah.
00:12:40.039 --> 00:12:48.759
And that's and and that's what I think, you know, one of the things that you're you're saying is, I mean, because it it's if you put good things in, you're gonna get good things out.
00:12:49.000 --> 00:12:49.399
Exactly.
00:12:49.559 --> 00:12:59.159
You know, and so if you eat the single ingredient foods, you know, you're better off than eating something that has things that you can't even pronounce.
00:12:59.319 --> 00:12:59.479
Yeah.
00:12:59.639 --> 00:13:03.000
Um, because your body's gonna react different thing differently with that too.
00:13:03.159 --> 00:13:08.519
And so if your body's already fighting something, you have to give good things to your body to make sure that it can fight those things off.
00:13:08.839 --> 00:13:09.159
Yeah.
00:13:09.399 --> 00:13:11.239
I mean your inputs create your outputs, right?
00:13:11.319 --> 00:13:15.719
So just being able to take in the high quality energy to kind of uh create the external results, right?
00:13:15.879 --> 00:13:23.719
It's like as I mentioned, you don't have to be perfect in these things, but it's about progress, it's about building those small wings and that for momentum on a day-to-day basis is going to get you results, right?
00:13:23.799 --> 00:13:28.279
Because failure is gonna happen, challenges will happen, you know, setbacks, but it's more so about how you respond to them.
00:13:28.439 --> 00:13:30.919
And a lot of us were kind of externalizing our power, right?
00:13:31.000 --> 00:13:33.319
And we're kind of blaming circumstances, blaming people.
00:13:33.479 --> 00:13:36.199
And I know it's difficult, but the reality is power's in your hands, right?
00:13:36.279 --> 00:13:36.359
Right.
00:13:36.519 --> 00:13:39.319
We have to wake up to that and take it 100% responsibility.
00:13:39.559 --> 00:13:42.599
And what that means is not everything is your fault necessarily, right?
00:13:42.679 --> 00:13:49.959
Because you know, things happen, especially in the world of wellness, where the world and deck is stacked against you, where it's very difficult for you to be healthy.
00:13:50.039 --> 00:13:51.000
And it should not be like that.
00:13:51.079 --> 00:14:02.119
Like we're designed for wellness, we're designed to have optimal health and you know, vibrant energy, but you know, like external circumstances such as like the food systems, like whatever is there, whatever that we're dealing with, it makes it very difficult.
00:14:02.279 --> 00:14:06.039
So you have to look outside of that in order to for in order to heal, right?
00:14:06.199 --> 00:14:08.199
And understand that the power's in your hands.
00:14:08.279 --> 00:14:12.599
All you have to do is take that action on a day-to-day basis, and eventually I'm gonna get your goals.
00:14:12.759 --> 00:14:16.519
You just have to hold on to that belief and kind of build that momentum.
00:14:16.599 --> 00:14:17.479
Let's keep moving forward.
00:14:17.559 --> 00:14:18.439
That's the way I look at it too.
00:14:18.679 --> 00:14:18.839
Right.
00:14:18.919 --> 00:14:20.039
Now, how did you do that?
00:14:20.199 --> 00:14:28.439
Um, you know, like uh where did you find that like most difficult for you, or or how did you put that into your day-to-day practices?
00:14:28.759 --> 00:14:31.319
Yeah, so I mean it's such a such a long journey, right?
00:14:31.479 --> 00:14:33.399
Because six years can a lot can happen within there.
00:14:33.559 --> 00:14:37.959
A lot of times it's like you're going through these challenges, it's like it's just ridiculous, you know.
00:14:38.039 --> 00:14:39.799
I say I should not be feeling like this.
00:14:39.959 --> 00:14:40.199
Right.
00:14:40.359 --> 00:14:44.039
And it's like there's so many challenges and tribulations within there.
00:14:44.199 --> 00:14:48.439
And the matter, the number one thing I gotta focus on was my purpose, like back to the foundation, right?
00:14:48.519 --> 00:14:53.079
Like, can you remember in the dark what God told you in the light?
00:14:53.159 --> 00:14:54.039
Yeah, that's the key, right?
00:14:54.119 --> 00:14:56.519
Because there's so many different challenges, and all these things would come up.
00:14:56.599 --> 00:14:59.079
But you hold on to the North Star, your reasons for being.
00:14:59.239 --> 00:15:03.159
And a lot of times we get caught up in the challenges, we forget the progress we have made.
00:15:03.319 --> 00:15:08.599
So kind of like have gratitude for the process, but realize, hey, you've probably come a long way.
00:15:08.759 --> 00:15:09.000
Right.
00:15:09.239 --> 00:15:12.119
And I know this thing is difficult, but you know, feelings are temporary.
00:15:12.279 --> 00:15:13.479
You're going to get through this.
00:15:13.799 --> 00:15:15.479
And living by principles, right?
00:15:15.559 --> 00:15:21.399
Like something I talk about on a regular basis is like principles over feelings.
00:15:21.559 --> 00:15:27.479
And now what I mean by that is like not it's not to say you don't have them, like you do have feelings, right?
00:15:27.639 --> 00:15:27.719
Right.
00:15:27.959 --> 00:15:34.439
But it's more so about doing it in an intelligent way because a lot of times when we come up against those circumstances, we give up, right?
00:15:34.519 --> 00:15:36.039
We we throw in the towel, we give in.
00:15:36.199 --> 00:15:38.679
And maybe we just kind of believe healing is not possible.
00:15:40.279 --> 00:15:43.239
60% of Americans have at least one chronic disease.
00:15:43.479 --> 00:15:43.639
Right.
00:15:43.799 --> 00:15:46.039
Now, is that because they can't get well?
00:15:46.119 --> 00:15:47.479
Is it because it's just impossible?
00:15:47.959 --> 00:15:50.519
No, the solution is always available, right?
00:15:50.599 --> 00:15:54.519
The solution exists, but we're not receptive to it based off our current paradigm.
00:15:55.159 --> 00:15:58.679
Maybe we're asking disempowering questions or reasons like, why me?
00:15:58.839 --> 00:15:59.799
Why is this happening?
00:16:00.439 --> 00:16:02.759
It's not until we start to shift that question.
00:16:03.239 --> 00:16:05.079
See, that is uh that is more empowering, right?
00:16:05.159 --> 00:16:06.279
Okay, what can I learn from this?
00:16:06.359 --> 00:16:07.159
How can I grow from this?
00:16:07.239 --> 00:16:09.000
How can I embrace this and all these different things?
00:16:09.239 --> 00:16:11.959
So we start to look for different reasons why we can't go well.
00:16:12.039 --> 00:16:17.399
We start to stack the evidence in our favor that's possible, instead of like being, hey, this is a this is not gonna even a possibility, right?
00:16:17.479 --> 00:16:22.439
So we start to look for reasons to get well, and essentially your brain is gonna find what you're looking for.
00:16:22.519 --> 00:16:22.679
Right.
00:16:22.839 --> 00:16:23.959
So that's the way I look at it.
00:16:24.199 --> 00:16:24.439
Right.
00:16:24.599 --> 00:16:27.879
Now, how um is this uh how old are you?
00:16:28.599 --> 00:16:28.919
28.
00:16:29.159 --> 00:16:44.279
Okay, so so you were 16 diagnosed, so 22, you went through it so the last six years, so this has been consuming of your life for at least twelve the last twelve years, you know, so it was the learn to, and then you get to the point you're like, now I have to tell people about it.
00:16:44.759 --> 00:16:50.679
You know, so you uh and I get that because that's I understand that feeling is like as you're going through it.
00:16:50.759 --> 00:16:57.319
I mean, there's limited information out there, um accurate information, you know.
00:16:57.399 --> 00:17:02.599
There's the the testing is terrible um if you go to the hospital, the treatments are terrible at the hospital.
00:17:02.679 --> 00:17:09.480
You talk about integrative medicine um and holistics, and and those are you know, that's what saved my life just the same.
00:17:09.640 --> 00:17:21.880
You know, I um and my doctor when I went back to him after I went through another provider, uh said, Thank goodness that that's where you chose to go because I wouldn't have been able to do that for you.
00:17:22.039 --> 00:17:26.279
And that's the hospital protocol, you know, what he was what he was describing.
00:17:26.440 --> 00:17:29.559
Basically, he could have given me doxycycline and that was it.
00:17:29.720 --> 00:17:41.000
And you know, I go there and and it was a whole body, you know, top to bottom, you know, looking at from the different blood draws to seeing where the infections still lied.
00:17:41.159 --> 00:17:46.759
And yeah, it was it was pretty intense therapy, which I'm thankful for because but there's still that residue.
00:17:47.000 --> 00:17:47.240
Right.
00:17:47.480 --> 00:17:55.559
So it's like, how do you, you know, how do you you you know, you get through the hard part and then you still wake up and you're like, why am I feeling like this?
00:17:55.720 --> 00:17:56.759
I'm not that old.
00:17:57.000 --> 00:17:57.960
Why am I doing this?
00:17:58.119 --> 00:18:00.119
You know, because I I I go through that still.
00:18:00.519 --> 00:18:18.359
I mean, I I last, you know, last week I had an upper GI and I had an MRI and and I still have to have another, you know, uh the the colonoscopy and and things because they're searching for what's wrong with me and they're not finding it because my body hates me because of Lyme disease.
00:18:19.319 --> 00:18:20.440
That's what I keep saying.
00:18:20.599 --> 00:18:26.519
But this it's because it's it's something neurological that's it that's messing with the automatic functions.
00:18:26.679 --> 00:18:37.079
Yeah, I mean, and and there's you know, there's no proof for anything, and there's no way to say it, but it's like this is how I feel, but it's invisible to everybody else that wants to see it.
00:18:37.319 --> 00:18:39.559
Yeah, and that self-talk is so key, right?
00:18:39.720 --> 00:18:50.599
Because we're kind of like I mean, even that can be like a form of like nutritionist sense, like our self-talk in terms of uh you know how we think, how we feel, all these things that come together, right?
00:18:50.679 --> 00:18:55.319
But yeah, with the medical system, as you mentioned, it's like a lot of diffic it's really difficult to get a diagnosis and all these things.
00:18:55.399 --> 00:19:00.039
So it's kind of like there's so many people who have to look and look and look, it's like they don't know what's happening.
00:19:00.359 --> 00:19:11.000
Right, and I understand that there's you know, there's a lot of ailments out there, and we can't expect the doctors to know absolutely every in and out of every symptom and what ailment that they go to.
00:19:11.159 --> 00:19:29.240
Um, but there's you know, you know, there's never been a push for Lyme disease since the what the 1970s until now, um, and when all of a sudden there's a a vaccine for it, you know, and some big corporation can make some money, you know, and all of a sudden Lyme disease is on the radar of everybody.
00:19:29.319 --> 00:19:32.279
And of course the alpha gal thing freaks a lot of people out too.
00:19:32.440 --> 00:19:32.599
Yeah.
00:19:32.919 --> 00:19:36.599
But that luckily isn't deer ticks, that's that's you know the lone star tick.
00:19:36.679 --> 00:19:42.519
But you know, and that's the thing is every tick can carry something different, it's just depending on where you are and where you get infected.
00:19:42.759 --> 00:19:43.399
Yeah, that's cool.
00:19:43.559 --> 00:19:45.399
And some a lot of them don't have anything either.
00:19:45.559 --> 00:19:45.639
Right.
00:19:45.960 --> 00:19:51.319
So it's kind of like well, and they always rely on a rash that doesn't always present itself, you know.
00:19:51.399 --> 00:19:55.240
So there's all these things so it's a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to this.
00:19:55.559 --> 00:20:01.240
And it's just like, you know, so you survived, you you are a survivor of Lyme disease.
00:20:01.319 --> 00:20:11.159
You were able to come back out of that darkness because that's what it is, it puts you in some really crazy places, and you know, so now you're you're on that I gotta tell everybody.
00:20:11.240 --> 00:20:12.440
Yeah, so for sure.
00:20:12.679 --> 00:20:21.319
What you know, was it in you already, or was it something that you already knew that you wanted to kind of go that way?
00:20:21.480 --> 00:20:30.759
Like when you were a kid, I want to go out there and save humanity and teach them all about this, or or did you want to just be like everyone else and be a teacher so you could have summers off?
00:20:31.000 --> 00:20:31.319
Right.
00:20:32.119 --> 00:20:36.440
No, I mean I was always kind of like like in a personal development, all these different things.
00:20:36.599 --> 00:20:36.919
Right.
00:20:37.159 --> 00:20:39.480
I mean, I was always passionate about wellness.
00:20:39.559 --> 00:20:40.919
I mean, football was my thing, yeah.
00:20:41.079 --> 00:20:43.480
But it's like, you know, life has other plans.
00:20:43.559 --> 00:20:43.639
Yeah.
00:20:43.799 --> 00:20:48.279
So that was it, like the disease I knew very on, like, hey, this is it, like this is it, this is the purpose.
00:20:48.440 --> 00:20:50.839
And that was the number one thing that helps you get through all these challenges.
00:20:50.919 --> 00:20:52.759
Is it I said it's like there's no there's no option.
00:20:53.319 --> 00:20:54.039
I decided.
00:20:54.200 --> 00:20:55.480
Like there's no in-between.
00:20:55.559 --> 00:20:58.359
I don't care what's going to happen, like I'm going to make it.
00:20:58.440 --> 00:20:58.599
Yes.
00:20:58.839 --> 00:20:59.000
Right?
00:20:59.079 --> 00:21:02.279
There it like and you do everything in your power to make that happen, right?
00:21:02.440 --> 00:21:04.440
You build that forward momentum every single day.
00:21:04.599 --> 00:21:07.639
And you know, at some point, like you're going to reach your goal, right?
00:21:07.720 --> 00:21:08.119
Right.
00:21:08.359 --> 00:21:21.240
So, I mean another thing I think about within that is like in terms of chronic disease, like I would never say that somebody can't get well, but I'm also not gonna say that everyone can heal 100% of the time from everything, right?
00:21:21.399 --> 00:21:21.879
Right.
00:21:22.279 --> 00:21:29.079
But what's coming to mind is like there are certain things on paper that people should not get well from, like say what cancer, whatever it is.
00:21:29.159 --> 00:21:31.559
Like, like on paper, you should not get through this.
00:21:31.720 --> 00:21:33.079
But the reality is people have.
00:21:33.240 --> 00:21:33.480
Right.
00:21:33.639 --> 00:21:36.119
So I'm not gonna say that you can't, I would never say you can't do something.
00:21:36.200 --> 00:21:39.480
The reality is to check it within your own self, you have checking your own inner guidance, your own heart.
00:21:39.639 --> 00:21:41.240
Like, this is something that's possible, right?
00:21:41.319 --> 00:21:41.559
Right.
00:21:41.720 --> 00:21:49.960
So oftentimes, like these external figures like the doctors, they mean very well, but they don't, they're not in your shoes, they're not living your life, right?
00:21:50.119 --> 00:21:57.559
They they they care, but it oftentimes, even if it's something minor, like a moderate disease, you're not gonna die from, right?
00:21:57.639 --> 00:22:09.559
It's like they do everything they can to help you, but if they tell you they can't get you can't get well, and it's not aligned with your goals, you need to give yourself permission to change providers, change someone who is actually aligned with your goals, right?
00:22:09.639 --> 00:22:11.159
They just don't know how to help you, right?
00:22:11.319 --> 00:22:16.519
And there's so many, there's there's so much possibility, so much information out there in terms of wellness.
00:22:16.679 --> 00:22:19.319
And they're taught like a subset of it, right?
00:22:19.480 --> 00:22:24.039
Pharmacology, whatever it is, and many things within that, which it has its place, right?
00:22:24.200 --> 00:22:25.399
Like for emergencies and things like that.
00:22:25.639 --> 00:23:27.879
that like it it does have its place and it works in many instances however if you want long term sustainable wellness you need to take control of that through our day-to-day choices right and going back to powers in our hands so that's that's a most exciting thing I look at too right and how do you find like when did you like when you have to advocate for yourself um you know towards a a medical professional how do you find um mixing in because you use the word holistic and that you know Western medicine doesn't necessarily like the crossover as much they're getting better but you know it's you know witch doctors versus you know doctors you know it's basically kind of for a long time I mean even my own primary care it has that same viewpoint and he says you know I'll put he puts me he's like I'll use you as my example like on the top shelf you know because I actually see that it works for you but he goes you know I don't know if I said but it depends on if the person is committed to going through all of the the necessary steps.
00:23:28.039 --> 00:24:11.559
Yeah I mean somebody that thinks that they can just take a vitamin and be healthy not necessarily gonna you know um work well because I mean when you're doing like like nutrient evaluations and things like that to see all of the different antioxidants and chemicals and things that potentially could be in your body or vitamins that might be off or or things like that when you're really focused on that personalized medicine um I mean how do you how do you present that to your Western doctors when you're things so it really depends on your goals like unique state of health all these different types of things to look for the right provider for you because if you're if you insist on working with your Western provider maybe you have to for whatever reason.
00:24:12.919 --> 00:24:28.279
The thing is oftentimes like if you go to specialists they're not communicating with each other unfortunately so you have something called polypharmacy which is like drug interaction but your specialist for something doesn't have any interaction with your other specialists.
00:24:28.599 --> 00:24:54.599
So you're taking all these things that have like this crossed um side effects which can be dangerous I mean aspects right I mean right and you hope the pharmacist catches it if you're even something called iotrogenesis which is basically like physician uh news harm um I don't want to go too deep into depth it's like potentially number one cause of death but essentially I would point people to actually look for more holistic type doctors.
00:24:54.759 --> 00:24:59.480
Right like functional medicine natural past because these people you don't have to fight with they already know.
00:24:59.639 --> 00:24:59.879
Right.
00:25:00.039 --> 00:25:03.639
So and they're not necessarily always covered by insurance.
00:25:03.960 --> 00:25:05.399
No that's a thing.
00:25:05.639 --> 00:25:09.639
Well and then and and that's the problem is is that they're not covered by insurance.
00:25:09.799 --> 00:25:21.559
I mean and and but the the first thing most doctors not saying all but you know most doctors will go to is here let me write a script we have something that'll fix that.
00:25:21.720 --> 00:25:35.000
And what that does is it masks or it fixes the symptoms that you're feeling but it might be masking the root cause and from the holistic side they're looking for the root cause because they want to treat you from from all of that going forward.
00:25:35.399 --> 00:25:37.399
Um because that will take care of it.
00:25:37.480 --> 00:25:57.399
But if you take say a blood pressure medication that you know and something you know it then or a diuretic or something like that and and that masks you know the potential that you have a tumor on your prostate if you're a man, you know, um because you're urinating more because you're you're taking a diuretic.
00:25:57.559 --> 00:26:03.079
So all of these extra medications are masking other symptoms that your body might be trying to tell you is wrong.
00:26:03.319 --> 00:26:09.639
And so it's like that's I can understand where that could be a leading cause of death because you just assume that everything is right.
00:26:09.799 --> 00:26:14.200
I mean I've had bad doctors so I I've I've had good doctors and I've had bad doctors.
00:26:14.359 --> 00:26:14.519
Right.
00:26:14.759 --> 00:26:17.720
And so I've had I know I've been in that position.
00:26:17.799 --> 00:26:23.879
So I've learned how to advocate for myself so that's interesting how um because it it's hard.
00:26:24.039 --> 00:26:28.039
It's really hard it can be well you didn't go to medical school how do you know are you Dr.
00:26:28.200 --> 00:26:28.759
Google?
00:26:29.240 --> 00:26:33.720
Sorry but you know it's like sometimes you do really have to defend yourself.
00:26:33.960 --> 00:27:23.240
You do uh I guess what comes to mind with that is like no again doctors mean very well they want to help you but they're taught in a system that in all you for hammer everything looks looks like a nail right like these farm pharmaological uh modalities they're oftentimes very harsh right they're not necessarily in alignment with our biology right if you look at drugs for example they actually come from nature but however what they do is they chemically alter them and they isolate the compounds so they're more powerful in a sense but they're left with all these side effects because we're never been exposed to them like throughout evolution in a sense right so if they're not it's necessarily something that we would be uh taking in and we said my joke is the swamp water from the Louisiana bayou um that they add to the pharmaceutical and that's what makes it most potent because you never know what they put in there.
00:27:23.399 --> 00:27:34.039
I'm I'm very much against I'm not I I'm not saying don't like believe I mean I obviously use western medicine because I have to you know because it is part of our society that's how we keep healthy.
00:27:34.759 --> 00:27:38.679
But it's hard when you are trying to to advocate for yourself.
00:27:39.159 --> 00:27:53.319
Now when you talk about now it's not just wellness when body physical body um it's also you know the mind and and the soul and and and that so how do you what's your plan or what do you do to work with that?
00:27:53.559 --> 00:27:59.319
Yeah everything is connected right so as just meant there's mind body connection that we can't really dispute at this point.
00:27:59.399 --> 00:28:02.679
Like everything is one entity how how we think it's separate I really don't understand.
00:28:02.839 --> 00:28:08.119
But there's two sciences like talk about a lot it's like psychoneuroimmunology and psychoneuroendrinology.
00:28:08.200 --> 00:28:12.440
So what that translates to is how our thoughts our emotions literally impact our overall biology.
00:28:13.000 --> 00:28:17.559
So every single thought and emotion I think is producing correlating chemistry within our bodies.
00:28:17.799 --> 00:28:34.279
So like serotonin is primarily related to like uplifting moods like happiness and all these different different things right cortisol that's your number one stress hormone you know epinephrine is kind of like this kind of stress response but it's not like the highest can get but essentially everything works together.
00:28:35.079 --> 00:29:03.399
And there's so much like that comes to the mind but always like to point people back to their own beliefs, their own values or their own uh standards, all these things that work together right so because a lot of times we're operating out of like things that we don't necessarily believe things we're not even in touch with who we are right because they're just kind of like given to us that's we never questioned them right and some of them maybe some of them may not be right so right power of self-awareness is key.
00:29:03.480 --> 00:29:11.480
So really getting to know who you are is very important like going back to questions right because and many times like questions are the answer.
00:29:11.720 --> 00:29:29.240
And what that means is like the more questions that we ask in in towards our goals, our values and all these different things it's going to help us get those answers right because a lot of times again what we're asking is these disempowering things that are leading us towards these um negative results in our life right so we have to take control of that mind.
00:29:29.559 --> 00:29:41.319
And a lot of times we need to give ourselves a space to think right because we're so distracted by so many different things whether it's uh you know the TV media like there's so many different things that kind of pull us away from what is real in a sense.
00:29:41.799 --> 00:29:45.399
There's a lot of static online but let's lend to listen to internal guidance that we all have.
00:29:45.720 --> 00:30:08.119
So we have to be able to look within ourselves and just kind of like process information in a sense because again knowledge is not power necessarily it's when you apply it becomes knowledge and wisdom right so you have to apply it and a lot of times we're just operating like these human filing cabinets we know so much we're not we're like we're kind of lacking wisdom.
00:30:08.519 --> 00:30:14.200
We're not really in touch with what we want or what is real and all these different types of things so you pull away from fear.
00:30:14.359 --> 00:30:20.039
I mean fear is something I talk about and uh it's a no fear like Kno W.
00:30:20.599 --> 00:30:23.079
It's understand your tendencies, your dispositions to it.
00:30:23.240 --> 00:30:48.119
It's not you're not gonna have it you're going to have it but it's more so again as the saying goes it's not the absence of fear that requires curves it's having that fear and doing it anyways right so understanding how you can navigate and using it as a tool is very important because it's gonna be there right but how can you utilize it and kind of amplify your own goals and your own processes with that and it's it's a learning process in of itself for sure.
00:30:48.359 --> 00:31:09.399
Right right yeah and now where have you so from the point of being now are you so let me go back here so now we're on we're on mind so we talk about body we're talking about mind we're talking but like how the whole package and how how you're delivering it now what are you doing?
00:31:09.559 --> 00:31:17.639
Because you you're packaging this to go out and spread the word you have a podcast yes that you are putting this message out there on.
00:31:17.879 --> 00:31:18.200
I do.
00:31:18.599 --> 00:31:26.039
So tell me about that and how you how you connect all of this together to deliver all of the information yeah for sure.
00:31:26.359 --> 00:31:32.919
So podcasting how I got into that is that was the number one thing that actually helped me learn when I was in that sixth date.
00:31:33.159 --> 00:31:35.559
I just was like obsessed podcast.
00:31:35.720 --> 00:31:35.799
Right.
00:31:35.960 --> 00:31:38.519
Like I was all I did was listen to podcasts and how to get well.
00:31:38.679 --> 00:31:38.919
Right.
00:31:39.079 --> 00:31:42.759
And I knew right then there like hey I'm going to start with this is what I'm going to do.
00:31:42.839 --> 00:31:44.279
This is gonna be the number one thing I do.
00:31:44.440 --> 00:31:47.240
And from the point that I knew the point happened was seven years.
00:31:47.639 --> 00:31:49.720
It took me seven years to actually do that because I wasn't ready.
00:31:49.799 --> 00:31:50.919
Like I didn't really know what I was doing.
00:31:51.000 --> 00:32:06.599
I I was very much in a low-level RD state to myself so no being in that process it's such a great great way to connect I mean I talk to people every single week from across the world I'm doing in person now so that's cool.
00:32:06.839 --> 00:32:20.599
Well and that's that's the thing is you know I first I why I keep laughing in my brain here is is thinking I'm like how does this darn little bug get everybody to want to do a podcast this little tick.
00:32:20.759 --> 00:32:31.799
But you're right because there it there was something that it it there was a fire that said I need to get this out and and this was not on the my radar by any means but it was the same fire.
00:32:31.960 --> 00:32:51.079
It was I need to get out there and start talking to people and now you're talking global people I'm trying to keep everybody local because I I was so isolated and I think that we all became so isolated from other reasons and whatnot and and I think the computer takes a lot of that away that I committed that it's gotta be in person.
00:32:51.240 --> 00:33:08.919
Yeah um that's where they're yeah where this had to be yeah yeah it's like like the magic I find in it is like you know having like all these conversations within people who are on top of the game and top of their field right and you can kind of like just be a broadcaster that to anyone who needs it.
00:33:09.159 --> 00:33:18.440
Right it's like it's like the free information right but you can actually kind of utilize like these things to learn anything honestly like you can learn uh from the best.
00:33:18.679 --> 00:33:18.919
Right.
00:33:19.159 --> 00:33:20.679
And that's that's the way I look at it too.
00:33:20.759 --> 00:33:27.159
It's like it's very fun just being able to kind of like learn a lot of different things and kind of not spread the message and the mission every single day.
00:33:27.480 --> 00:33:27.720
Right.
00:33:27.960 --> 00:33:40.279
And what um what have you taken from your learning from being a podcaster in that like just getting out there and doing that like how do you how do you like it and how do you at this month it's three years.
00:33:40.359 --> 00:33:41.960
All right so good job.
00:33:42.200 --> 00:33:42.519
Thank you.
00:33:42.599 --> 00:33:47.879
I mean the first half I would say it was just me primarily I mean I had some guests right it's like it was very sporadic.
00:33:48.279 --> 00:33:54.440
Now I released two interviews a week when I do a solo so I'm doing a lot of guesting and a lot of uh interviews myself.
00:33:54.759 --> 00:34:00.759
Nice yeah it's like it's very it's very fun to do right and I know I'm on purpose I'm on a mission every single day.
00:34:00.919 --> 00:34:20.840
The mission is to bring the tools to wellness mindset personal development to be able to come to race virtual myself because I're reaching your full potential and calibrating your life based off your own terms right because like if there's one thing I know it's do it your way right it's like you operate all these foundational principles of reality and all these things it's like then what what's your own path right and kind of like doing whatever it takes to make that happen.
00:34:21.079 --> 00:34:36.119
And that's that's the number one thing because a lot of times we're we're not on purpose we're not on our path and if I could talk about a little bit further in terms of purpose like what does that even mean what is purpose it's about growth and service right but now everyone expresses that it's gonna be different.
00:34:36.279 --> 00:34:44.360
We all have our own path we all have our own mission we have all on these all these things together right and also I believe it encompasses everything.
00:34:44.519 --> 00:35:02.279
So you are the foundation of your life so your character really matters like all these things they come together but then your health your wealth relationships is optimizing your life making for that forward progress and being of service all these different things and another thing I thought about recently is like if you know your standards your values your principles all these different things it's very good to know.
00:35:02.519 --> 00:35:15.719
But then when you're tested like when challenges happen when these things are put to the test and you actually stand by that you stand with integrity that is where you feel purpose because now you realize hey what you do matters how you respond to things matter.
00:35:15.880 --> 00:35:22.519
How you uh traverse certain adversity it matters because it's only to change the outcome right so you're living on purpose.
00:35:22.679 --> 00:35:22.840
Right.
00:35:23.000 --> 00:35:24.599
And all these things that work together.
00:35:25.000 --> 00:36:14.119
Right no and and I you know purpose is I think um when you don't have a purpose at all there's there's you know I think that's where people lose um the will to live you know in a lot of ways if it makes sense because if you think about it um and I don't know what the percentage of of deaths that occur but how many people would work in a factory for their entire life let's say the big three automotive right and for 30 years they go and work their shift and they retire and they're gonna do all these great things but within a year or two they're dead because their purpose of getting up and going and doing what they knew to do for 30 years and then they never replaced that purpose.
00:36:14.279 --> 00:36:17.000
You know so they didn't have another reason that they put in there.
00:36:17.159 --> 00:36:22.679
Those that had a purpose after the fact they they correlate the same thing to receiving a monthly paycheck.
00:36:22.759 --> 00:36:22.920
Yeah.
00:36:23.079 --> 00:36:33.960
You know so it's like if you have a 401 or social security or something make sure that you get a monthly paycheck because they correlate that to some sort of trigger of happiness inside the human brain.
00:36:36.360 --> 00:36:37.639
I don't think I'll ever retire.
00:36:37.799 --> 00:36:41.559
I mean I'm just so happy just to get out there and just talk to as many people as possible.
00:36:41.960 --> 00:36:43.880
That's what my passion is and that's what this is.
00:36:44.279 --> 00:36:56.039
You have to have a vision for your life right is just I want to get out there and talk to as many people and let them tell all of their stories because that's the key to showing that we don't have to change our differences.
00:36:56.199 --> 00:36:59.320
You know we don't have to be different you know we don't have to be perfectly alike.
00:36:59.559 --> 00:37:36.119
But underneath it all we can find what does connect us and and you know and when we're you know ill um you know we've all been ill you know whether it's a minor illness or a major illness you know we've we know what sickness feels like so that right there is a connection point you know so we can relate to each other um and then you know opening those doors and then creating that and so like just getting the word out there and talking to more people and making those connection points with who you interview that's fun too because people at the top of their game I mean it's it's because you always wonder I I like to watch like some of the shows where they tour the houses or they're buying the jet or something like that.
00:37:36.199 --> 00:37:38.119
And it's like I wonder what that guy does for a living.
00:37:38.279 --> 00:38:13.960
You know and it's like so it's you get to see and talk to some of those people um to know you know what they're how they got to the top of their game and what you know you you see you know the the the president um or um uh what Mary um barrow um of of GM she started on the line you know and worked her way up and put herself through college and got there and and now she's at the top and those are the stories you know um where you see people have has started and got there you know it's like those are the people that you want to know how did you do it because there was not a not every day was a good day for you.
00:38:14.199 --> 00:38:35.480
No I mean we exactly like you said we relate to people we relate to each other's stories and you kind of connect with your own experience and things like that based off of uh what they're telling you right right and that's how we learn in a sense right it's like there's information out there but ultimately we relate to each other's stories and how we overcome things and also it's a source of inspiration right you must have a compelling future that you create.
00:38:35.559 --> 00:38:52.679
Like you have to get up like there's something you're going after right yes and there's a lot of times we're missing that in society I think and a lot of times we look to the vices we look to the external things that is kind of like maybe short term gratification but there's nothing that's gonna be lead to long term fulfillment right that's something I think about often as well.
00:38:53.000 --> 00:38:53.239
Right.
00:38:53.400 --> 00:39:00.199
It's like taking that you know 30 second roller coaster ride versus you know planning something that will be exciting for the rest of your life.
00:39:01.000 --> 00:39:11.000
For sure it's just that instant moment you know versus is the long term um yeah for sure of uh you know just taking a little bit of something you know and and spreading it out.
00:39:11.639 --> 00:39:34.039
And I think that that's the exciting part because this you know in this world of of what you do with podcasts and and what we do with just social media in that even though sometimes there's too much of it and I think it takes away from the human connection um but you think about the human connection of not talking about people globally so how do people find you what what's the name of your podcast?
00:39:34.279 --> 00:40:11.320
Yeah so I the show is called anything is still a wellness and again we have amazing guests on there we have SoloSodes the mission as I said it's all about bringing all the aspects of wellness like nature uh there's something called elemental health there's hormonic stressors but basically what we're doing is we're taking ancestral health and we're kind of optimizing it right and it goes beyond that as well like there's certain things I talk about in terms of relationships wealth because like I said it goes it's all connected right but ultimately living on purpose and there's a lot of personal development in there and submissions being able to kind of calibrate that based off of each individual and just being a lifelong learner in the process.
00:40:11.880 --> 00:40:12.599
That's perfect.
00:40:13.000 --> 00:40:13.639
That's perfect.
00:40:13.799 --> 00:40:22.440
Well I appreciate that and then do you have any um do you do any like seminars or any uh coaching or anything outside so actually I do speaking as well.
00:40:22.599 --> 00:40:22.759
Okay.
00:40:22.920 --> 00:40:32.279
Uh more so locally like I that's the number one thing as well because you were just talking about this like in-person connection right because yeah I honestly don't hear many people from the listenership of the show.
00:40:32.599 --> 00:40:41.880
No you don't they're out there you know but uh right I don't know a whole lot of them right but then you get the the interaction on maybe speaking to a group of 30 people at low foods.
00:40:42.119 --> 00:40:42.440
Right.
00:40:42.679 --> 00:40:50.039
And then you kind of like what I find with all these different things I write as well I'm a writer and they all it's the same message but it's expressed different ways.
00:40:50.199 --> 00:40:59.159
So you kind of learn a lot process it's you kind of express the message in different ways of what the person needs like kind of calibrating the audience in a sense but keeping the message authentic right.
00:40:59.320 --> 00:40:59.639
Right.
00:41:00.039 --> 00:41:56.279
So that's the way I look at it and generally speaking I whatever it is like can be different topics such as nutrition or sleep mindset um elemental health which is basically taking control of elements to optimize your health so it's like air water light uh earth uh sun and air optimization right and there's a lot of things going to that but it's kind of uh basics right very cool and is do you have a separate website or anything for that and what is that website so anthonygasella.com okay this is where the coaching or free resource in there such as uh articles and uh different ebooks in a sense so different things that people can uh learn from whatever it is they're looking for so perfect well we'll add that to our resource page so on our website we have a resource page that we connect all of our guests with what they do so all of our audience can find you after the fact and say I need to have Anthony's assistance so no it's it there is and the fact that you know you're really just we it's kind of scratch the surface.
00:41:56.360 --> 00:42:14.360
I mean there's so much that can we we could go on for you know have a a 12 hour conversation about each leg of of wellness you know and it is a lot and and break it down um but that's what your podcast is for is to break that down so that's where they need to go and listen to Anthony Gostella wellness.
00:42:14.519 --> 00:42:15.400
And where do they find that?
00:42:15.480 --> 00:42:17.880
Is that on the It's not everything all the podcast platforms.
00:42:18.279 --> 00:42:29.320
All the majors okay well brilliant yeah and so as we as we close down our conversation here at Anthony um one of the things that we like to do as a connection point is to ask what is your personal anthem?
00:42:29.639 --> 00:42:54.199
Yeah honestly nowadays I'm primarily listening to podcasts and audiobooks however if I had a choice that'd be something hard like many man by 50 cent or something okay okay but yeah but it pumps you up the reason for that is like it's like no you're going through you have this thing in mind you have this mission right we have all these obstacles are just pulling you back right but you're going to you're going to make it because I decided right I'm going to make it happen.
00:42:54.279 --> 00:42:59.000
I don't care what's going in my way I'm going to find a way right it's what stands in the way becomes the way.
00:42:59.079 --> 00:42:59.239
Right.
00:42:59.400 --> 00:43:07.159
Right and you focus on what tends to expand right so you kind of say focus on mission every single day overcome these things and no what you thought was impossible becomes possible.
00:43:07.400 --> 00:43:07.719
Right.
00:43:07.880 --> 00:43:09.719
And that's a good note to right there.
00:43:09.799 --> 00:43:33.799
No I like that I no I do because it I'll tell you when you feel like there's you know a thousand pounds sitting on you and you can't even move to get out of bed or you go to take a shower and that just exerted all of your energy reserves for the day right um you you have to tell yourself no this isn't the end of you you that you're going to be okay and you're gonna come out of it and and that's where that you have to have that mindset.
00:43:33.880 --> 00:43:40.519
That's the key because that's the only way to get healthy um and to pull yourself forward is to say I can do this.
00:43:40.679 --> 00:43:53.079
You know it's like going back to Thomas the train right you know I think I can I think I can I know I can you know and just having that confidence within yourself and that's that's the first step because only you can change you.
00:43:53.400 --> 00:43:56.759
And and that's the key is you know only you can do the work on you too.
00:43:56.920 --> 00:43:58.279
You know 100% makes sense.
00:43:58.599 --> 00:44:05.639
So perfect so I appreciate you joining us and and thank you again for joining us on this week's episode of Life Between Coasts.
00:44:05.719 --> 00:44:16.599

00:00:48.200 --> 00:00:54.359
Hi there, welcome to Life Between Coasts, the podcast where we dive into our personal journeys connected through synchronicity.
00:00:54.439 --> 00:00:57.480
So grab your coffee, light a candle, and let's begin.
00:00:57.640 --> 00:01:00.280
I'm your host, Leah, and we're glad you're here.
00:01:00.439 --> 00:01:02.200
Today we're sitting down with Anthony.
00:01:02.359 --> 00:01:02.679
Welcome.
00:01:02.920 --> 00:01:03.560
How are you today?
00:01:04.120 --> 00:01:04.840
Great, thank you for having me.
00:01:05.079 --> 00:01:06.120
Excellent, and excellent.
00:01:06.200 --> 00:01:08.920
So I'm I'm really excited to hear about your story.
00:01:09.079 --> 00:01:18.039
I've kind of briefly read um, you know, uh a little bit of a biography, but just not all the details, and so I'm excited to to learn those details.
00:01:18.200 --> 00:01:20.599
So take the floor, tell me, tell me all about you.
00:01:20.840 --> 00:01:21.719
Yeah, absolutely.
00:01:21.879 --> 00:01:27.640
So basically, I had a Lyme disease diagnosis that lasted for a period of six years, right?
00:01:27.799 --> 00:01:30.760
And within this, I was experiencing all the symptoms you can imagine.
00:01:30.840 --> 00:01:35.000
So I had joint pain, I had thyroid issues, spharomyalgia, I can go down the line essentially, right?
00:01:35.640 --> 00:01:38.200
But I was in an extreme state of suffering, right?
00:01:38.359 --> 00:01:41.879
And very quickly on I realized I had two choices within that.
00:01:41.960 --> 00:01:45.560
You know, I can either be a victim or the victor, the victor of the circumstances, right?
00:01:45.719 --> 00:01:52.280
So what that means is, you know, being a victim, that'll lead to listening to two external voices and reasons why you can't.
00:01:52.439 --> 00:01:54.280
This is just how it's gonna be, right?
00:01:54.760 --> 00:01:57.159
Or you can choose the path of empowerment.
00:01:57.240 --> 00:01:57.320
Right.
00:01:57.560 --> 00:01:58.840
Here's the path to being a victor, right?
00:01:58.920 --> 00:01:59.879
And that's what I did.
00:02:00.120 --> 00:02:04.760
And, you know, I really had to make a decision with myself that I'm going to get well.
00:02:04.920 --> 00:02:09.400
Like I had to make an internal conviction that no matter what happens, I'm going to get well, right?
00:02:09.479 --> 00:02:11.719
And there's going to be challenges, there's going to be obstacles, right?
00:02:12.280 --> 00:02:16.039
And I started to embrace it and I realized that hey, it's not just about me.
00:02:16.359 --> 00:02:21.400
It's now I can get to the other side of this and help as many people as I possibly can, right?
00:02:21.799 --> 00:02:24.120
And it took me six long years.
00:02:24.519 --> 00:02:27.159
And knowing what I own now would take me six months.
00:02:27.719 --> 00:02:34.920
Because that process, you learn so much and you kind of afford your character in a sense to live your life mentally, right?
00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:38.920
Because I believe like all these things don't necessarily happen to us, but happen for us.
00:02:39.319 --> 00:02:40.920
And we get to decide what it means.
00:02:41.319 --> 00:02:50.360
And going through all these circumstances, trials, and tribulations, I realize that hey, it's like now I'm on their side of it, and I'm on fire to help as many people as I possibly can, right?
00:02:50.599 --> 00:02:55.719
To take control of their health and their mind because I know what it's like not to feel well.
00:02:56.120 --> 00:02:58.840
And being on the side of it is a totally another way of being, right?
00:02:58.920 --> 00:03:02.120
So that's what I do every single day, and it's such an honor to do it, right?
00:03:02.280 --> 00:03:04.920
Because that's all I wanted was to do that.
00:03:05.000 --> 00:03:06.039
Now I'm doing it, right?
00:03:06.120 --> 00:03:06.360
Right.
00:03:06.520 --> 00:03:09.879
And it's it's what's about it's about being a life for what's possible.
00:03:10.039 --> 00:03:11.240
And so we do every day.
00:03:11.479 --> 00:03:11.719
Right.
00:03:11.960 --> 00:03:17.080
So now uh how um how long ago was your first diagnosis?
00:03:17.400 --> 00:03:19.560
So I had diagnosed when I was 16.
00:03:19.719 --> 00:03:19.960
Okay.
00:03:20.120 --> 00:03:24.280
And then it took me about six years from there in order to just consider myself whole.
00:03:24.759 --> 00:03:25.000
Right.
00:03:25.080 --> 00:03:30.759
And then and how long were you suffering with symptoms before being diagnosed?
00:03:31.319 --> 00:03:37.879
So I know that when I first started experiencing symptoms, like I kind of like to push it to the side.
00:03:37.960 --> 00:03:42.039
It's like because even before that, I was just I was really into personal development, even back then, right?
00:03:42.120 --> 00:03:45.000
So I was kind of like developing my mind and all these different things.
00:03:45.319 --> 00:03:47.479
And I just thought it was it's just pass.
00:03:47.719 --> 00:03:53.800
But as the months progressed, it continually got worse until the point I'm like, hey, something is very wrong here, right?
00:03:53.960 --> 00:03:54.199
Right.
00:03:54.439 --> 00:04:06.520
And I didn't know what it was, and I would say it was it was actually pretty close, uh, which is usually uncommon for Lyme disease to get diagnosed quickly because there's so many different things, so many different pieces to it, right?
00:04:06.599 --> 00:04:08.920
So a lot of times we don't know the cause.
00:04:09.080 --> 00:04:14.840
But thankfully, I kind of bypassed the medical system in many ways, um, which of course has its place.
00:04:14.920 --> 00:04:16.360
Like it's it's great for many things, right?
00:04:16.439 --> 00:04:16.759
Right.
00:04:17.000 --> 00:04:23.000
But I kind of knew where to go and I got um diagnosed rather quickly, so that was kind of a relief.
00:04:23.240 --> 00:04:25.639
And also it's like, okay, what's next, right?
00:04:25.719 --> 00:04:27.959
Because I didn't I didn't know much about wellness at the time.
00:04:28.120 --> 00:04:28.279
Right.
00:04:28.439 --> 00:04:30.920
So it's like like where's all the challenges?
00:04:31.000 --> 00:04:34.120
And I was like, I was ready to I was ready to like kind of heal from there.
00:04:34.360 --> 00:04:35.639
What were your first symptoms?
00:04:36.120 --> 00:04:45.480
Join me, like yeah, because I was an athlete, like I play football, and all of a sudden I'm waking up stiff, I'm like, I feel very old.
00:04:45.800 --> 00:04:47.480
And this is this is not normal.
00:04:47.639 --> 00:04:51.240
I can't move, I can't I was very fast, now I'm I'm not.
00:04:51.399 --> 00:04:51.560
Right.
00:04:51.800 --> 00:04:54.040
So it's like what this is this is wrong.
00:04:54.439 --> 00:04:54.600
Right.
00:04:54.680 --> 00:05:02.920
Well well and and when you're 16, I mean you should be nimble and just jumping all over the place and and you know, limber and and things and not thinking about that.
00:05:03.079 --> 00:05:14.120
Do you now do you think you would do you know where you'd gotten bitten by a tick or yeah, so isn't it's interesting because I remember being eight years old and I had a tick, right year.
00:05:14.360 --> 00:05:14.439
Right.
00:05:14.759 --> 00:05:22.519
Now the thing with Fyme disease, I said just because you get bit by something, and whether it's a tick or even mosquitoes, like doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get it.
00:05:22.680 --> 00:05:22.920
Right.
00:05:23.079 --> 00:05:25.399
It really comes down to the immune system, right?
00:05:25.560 --> 00:05:32.600
And well, a lot of times people get bit by ticks, they get bit by things when they're when they're young, playing the forest and whatnot, everything is fine, nothing happens.
00:05:32.759 --> 00:05:36.920
But with Lyme disease, the the virus, it kind of stays dormant within our systems, right?
00:05:37.079 --> 00:05:38.680
But our immune system can handle it.
00:05:38.839 --> 00:05:43.319
So nothing you will not be presented with any type of negative symptoms or anything like that.
00:05:43.480 --> 00:05:54.839
However, what happens is that as you go down the line, as you kind of uh advance with this like um like the standard American lifestyle where you're kind of all processed food and all these different types of things, your immune system gets compromised.
00:05:55.240 --> 00:05:58.439
And now you're no longer able to handle what it once was.
00:05:58.519 --> 00:06:00.439
Right so it kind of grows into these different symptoms, right?
00:06:00.519 --> 00:06:01.720
And that's what the case was for me.
00:06:01.800 --> 00:06:10.759
I mean, I care about my health, I care about different things, but there's I was dealing with a lot of stress, like looking back at a lot of like things going on, and I didn't really know how to handle it.
00:06:10.920 --> 00:06:14.600
And as much as like I was into wellness, there's so much I didn't know.
00:06:14.759 --> 00:06:17.319
So I was like, I was You're a kid, essentially.
00:06:17.560 --> 00:06:20.280
You know, it's like I mean, because even in sports, they do teach.
00:06:20.360 --> 00:06:37.959
I would say that they probably teach you more being an athlete in you know high school and that about putting the right things into your body, yeah, um, and teaching you about health and diet and things like that, there you're probably a little bit more in tune than the average person, um, because that that's something that they don't even teach in medical school.
00:06:38.120 --> 00:06:38.199
No.
00:06:38.519 --> 00:06:39.399
Nutrition and diet.
00:06:39.639 --> 00:06:40.439
Yeah, unfortunately.
00:06:40.519 --> 00:06:47.399
I mean, hopefully things are changing, but uh yeah, you said it's like there's nothing uh required about nutrition to become a doctor, which doesn't make any sense.
00:06:47.639 --> 00:06:47.959
No.
00:06:49.079 --> 00:06:50.040
Go figure.
00:06:50.439 --> 00:06:51.160
Very strange.
00:06:51.879 --> 00:06:55.319
But now, so did you have any like comorbidities?
00:06:55.399 --> 00:06:58.280
Did you have like other infections or just the Lyme disease?
00:06:58.519 --> 00:07:04.439
Yeah, so eventually I realized I had a Hashimoto's, which is like a autoimmune disease of a thyroid.
00:07:04.519 --> 00:07:11.000
So basically, um autoimmune disease is when your body kind of recognizes your tissue as form, it starts to kind of attack that.
00:07:11.079 --> 00:07:20.120
Whatever it is, whether it's Hashimoto's, whether it's uh arthritis, colitis, whatever it is, kind of depends on uh genetic predispositions as well.
00:07:20.199 --> 00:07:27.160
So it may uh come in with like a certain lifestyle, but then maybe your genes may be activated based off your own particular genetic makeup, right?
00:07:27.319 --> 00:07:32.280
So Hashimoto's those are two main things.
00:07:32.360 --> 00:07:39.800
Like um, like you can kind of look at these symptoms like arthritis and all these things as diseases themselves synthesized, but they're kind of symptoms of the main thing, right?
00:07:40.120 --> 00:07:40.360
Right.
00:07:40.439 --> 00:07:50.680
Well, and that's and I think that that's the hardest thing to explain because you know, um the listening audience knows that that was my my thing.
00:07:50.839 --> 00:07:58.839
Uh the the Lyme disease factor um w was what I was misdiagnosed for because mine came on right in the middle of COVID.
00:07:58.920 --> 00:08:01.160
So everything met COVID standards, you know.
00:08:01.319 --> 00:08:11.959
So you've got COVID and then it's you've got fibromyalgia, and then it's finally, you know, um figuring it out um and and going in, and so I took a a a different route.
00:08:12.120 --> 00:08:16.600
Mine was through via the today show and how I found out I had Lyme disease.
00:08:17.160 --> 00:08:17.639
That's interesting.
00:08:18.120 --> 00:08:19.720
Um it's it is, it is.
00:08:20.120 --> 00:08:21.560
It's just one of those things.
00:08:21.639 --> 00:08:29.480
Um but um uh it it's just what pointed me in the right direction to know, um, because that was one place that I wasn't looking.
00:08:29.800 --> 00:08:33.720
And um, but that's why I asked what the symptoms are, because they overlap.
00:08:33.799 --> 00:08:42.600
I mean, they talk about it's it's what 50 to 100 different other things that can be diet you could be diagnosed with, those symptoms overlap with.
00:08:42.679 --> 00:08:57.639
And you're right, because all of a sudden something that you think that you're okay with flares up because this little spiral uh little infection is you know, stupid little thing that hides in your cells decides that it wants to attack you that day.
00:08:57.959 --> 00:08:58.519
Exactly.
00:08:58.679 --> 00:09:09.479
And that could be for different reasons, like because there's uh like different bacteria based off with individual, because there's no lime bees that's gonna be exactly the same for each individual, right?
00:09:09.559 --> 00:09:20.279
So you have different uh cobacteria in a sense, like uh there's different like your Partnella, you have like basically all these different things, and people may have different things and may have none at all, like they're called cone infections in a sense, right?
00:09:20.359 --> 00:09:24.119
So just being able to even test for those can be helpful, right?
00:09:24.359 --> 00:09:29.159
But then kind of like personalizing your path based off your own individual needs, I think that's the key for sure.
00:09:29.399 --> 00:09:29.799
Right.
00:09:30.039 --> 00:09:31.079
Now, what did you find?
00:09:31.239 --> 00:09:37.559
So, as you're going through this, so um what did now going through your journey of of wellness and and figuring this out?
00:09:37.639 --> 00:09:41.879
So, what did you find as you started that journey?
00:09:42.119 --> 00:09:45.239
What did you find that you were doing wrong and what you needed to change?
00:09:45.479 --> 00:09:45.959
Yeah.
00:09:46.199 --> 00:09:49.799
So with chronic disease, especially Lyme, it all comes down to lifestyle, right?
00:09:49.879 --> 00:09:56.119
So we're talking sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, everything works together in synergy, right?
00:09:56.199 --> 00:10:07.559
Now you may be doing some things well, and it's going to be beneficial, but uh it really comes down to holistic wellness, and we're talking regressing like the mind, body connection, regressing emotions, everything is interconnected, right?
00:10:07.719 --> 00:10:11.399
And a lot of times, if we're just getting started, that can be seemed overwhelming, right?
00:10:11.479 --> 00:10:12.919
Because there's so many different factors, right?
00:10:13.159 --> 00:10:22.839
So it goes really goes down to the small wins on a day-to-day basis, like making progress in these different things, like okay, coming down to self-awareness, like what disease do I have?
00:10:23.239 --> 00:10:27.399
Like what and what are the symptoms that I'm experiencing, and what are my goals, right?
00:10:27.719 --> 00:10:30.439
And putting a plan together from there, right?
00:10:30.599 --> 00:10:36.519
So talk about these things, like the fundamentals I mentioned.
00:10:36.919 --> 00:10:39.719
Now there are certain principles that make these things work together.
00:10:40.039 --> 00:10:46.519
So there are certain foundational principles of nutrition, of sleep, of exercise, stress management that make these things work together, right?
00:10:46.599 --> 00:10:57.319
So for me, I mean I ask myself that question uh often, and the number one thing that actually helped me get well is actually becoming real within myself.
00:10:57.559 --> 00:10:58.519
Now, here's what I mean.
00:10:58.599 --> 00:11:02.039
It's like becoming the greatest version of yourself every single day, right?
00:11:02.199 --> 00:11:05.799
Living on purpose, growth, service, all these things that work together, right?
00:11:05.959 --> 00:11:13.399
Right, because it's there's so much interesting research showing how purpose has huge impact on overwhelming.
00:11:13.639 --> 00:11:17.000
But I'm not just after health, I'm after becoming the greatest version of you, right?
00:11:17.079 --> 00:11:23.239
So living up to your full potential, like being of service, you know, living with honor, integrity, all these things, developing your character.
00:11:23.479 --> 00:11:25.799
And you kind of like realize that hey, everything is connected.
00:11:25.879 --> 00:11:29.159
So optimizing your health, your wealth, relationships, everything works together.
00:11:29.559 --> 00:11:29.719
Right?
00:11:29.879 --> 00:11:31.399
That was the number one thing for me.
00:11:31.799 --> 00:11:36.279
Because like overcoming like emotional things, it all all comes together, like a lot of race.
00:11:36.439 --> 00:11:41.959
But of course, like you have to optimize like nutrition, sleep, exercise, and just getting in nature.
00:11:42.039 --> 00:11:46.439
And I can talk about like those in detail, but it's like it's really the basics of it.
00:11:46.679 --> 00:11:58.119
And when you overcome like your own like your own past beliefs, uh trauma, whatever it is, is you kind of like make it a lot easier to heal, kind of like setting the environment to uh heal in a sense.
00:11:58.359 --> 00:11:58.599
Right.
00:11:58.759 --> 00:12:03.719
Well you're right, because you know, you don't want to healing's not an overnight thing.
00:12:03.879 --> 00:12:06.199
No, it's it's a journey, it's a path.
00:12:06.359 --> 00:12:08.919
You start on and it's it's something that you continue fully.
00:12:09.079 --> 00:12:14.599
You know, I think through it's part of you know, part of you until till the end.
00:12:14.679 --> 00:12:26.679
Um there's always something that you can I not necessarily improve, but it's always something that you can do to to um you know, it's it's comes down to the better choices, you know.
00:12:26.839 --> 00:12:32.039
A bag of Doritos versus a banana and an apple, you know, it's just yeah, it's not about being perfect anyway.
00:12:32.439 --> 00:12:32.519
Right.
00:12:33.079 --> 00:12:39.639
Oh no, because I'll eat the Doritos, don't get me wrong, but most often I'll eat the the fruit and things because I see what it does to my body.
00:12:39.719 --> 00:12:39.879
Yeah.
00:12:40.039 --> 00:12:48.759
And that's and and that's what I think, you know, one of the things that you're you're saying is, I mean, because it it's if you put good things in, you're gonna get good things out.
00:12:49.000 --> 00:12:49.399
Exactly.
00:12:49.559 --> 00:12:59.159
You know, and so if you eat the single ingredient foods, you know, you're better off than eating something that has things that you can't even pronounce.
00:12:59.319 --> 00:12:59.479
Yeah.
00:12:59.639 --> 00:13:03.000
Um, because your body's gonna react different thing differently with that too.
00:13:03.159 --> 00:13:08.519
And so if your body's already fighting something, you have to give good things to your body to make sure that it can fight those things off.
00:13:08.839 --> 00:13:09.159
Yeah.
00:13:09.399 --> 00:13:11.239
I mean your inputs create your outputs, right?
00:13:11.319 --> 00:13:15.719
So just being able to take in the high quality energy to kind of uh create the external results, right?
00:13:15.879 --> 00:13:23.719
It's like as I mentioned, you don't have to be perfect in these things, but it's about progress, it's about building those small wings and that for momentum on a day-to-day basis is going to get you results, right?
00:13:23.799 --> 00:13:28.279
Because failure is gonna happen, challenges will happen, you know, setbacks, but it's more so about how you respond to them.
00:13:28.439 --> 00:13:30.919
And a lot of us were kind of externalizing our power, right?
00:13:31.000 --> 00:13:33.319
And we're kind of blaming circumstances, blaming people.
00:13:33.479 --> 00:13:36.199
And I know it's difficult, but the reality is power's in your hands, right?
00:13:36.279 --> 00:13:36.359
Right.
00:13:36.519 --> 00:13:39.319
We have to wake up to that and take it 100% responsibility.
00:13:39.559 --> 00:13:42.599
And what that means is not everything is your fault necessarily, right?
00:13:42.679 --> 00:13:49.959
Because you know, things happen, especially in the world of wellness, where the world and deck is stacked against you, where it's very difficult for you to be healthy.
00:13:50.039 --> 00:13:51.000
And it should not be like that.
00:13:51.079 --> 00:14:02.119
Like we're designed for wellness, we're designed to have optimal health and you know, vibrant energy, but you know, like external circumstances such as like the food systems, like whatever is there, whatever that we're dealing with, it makes it very difficult.
00:14:02.279 --> 00:14:06.039
So you have to look outside of that in order to for in order to heal, right?
00:14:06.199 --> 00:14:08.199
And understand that the power's in your hands.
00:14:08.279 --> 00:14:12.599
All you have to do is take that action on a day-to-day basis, and eventually I'm gonna get your goals.
00:14:12.759 --> 00:14:16.519
You just have to hold on to that belief and kind of build that momentum.
00:14:16.599 --> 00:14:17.479
Let's keep moving forward.
00:14:17.559 --> 00:14:18.439
That's the way I look at it too.
00:14:18.679 --> 00:14:18.839
Right.
00:14:18.919 --> 00:14:20.039
Now, how did you do that?
00:14:20.199 --> 00:14:28.439
Um, you know, like uh where did you find that like most difficult for you, or or how did you put that into your day-to-day practices?
00:14:28.759 --> 00:14:31.319
Yeah, so I mean it's such a such a long journey, right?
00:14:31.479 --> 00:14:33.399
Because six years can a lot can happen within there.
00:14:33.559 --> 00:14:37.959
A lot of times it's like you're going through these challenges, it's like it's just ridiculous, you know.
00:14:38.039 --> 00:14:39.799
I say I should not be feeling like this.
00:14:39.959 --> 00:14:40.199
Right.
00:14:40.359 --> 00:14:44.039
And it's like there's so many challenges and tribulations within there.
00:14:44.199 --> 00:14:48.439
And the matter, the number one thing I gotta focus on was my purpose, like back to the foundation, right?
00:14:48.519 --> 00:14:53.079
Like, can you remember in the dark what God told you in the light?
00:14:53.159 --> 00:14:54.039
Yeah, that's the key, right?
00:14:54.119 --> 00:14:56.519
Because there's so many different challenges, and all these things would come up.
00:14:56.599 --> 00:14:59.079
But you hold on to the North Star, your reasons for being.
00:14:59.239 --> 00:15:03.159
And a lot of times we get caught up in the challenges, we forget the progress we have made.
00:15:03.319 --> 00:15:08.599
So kind of like have gratitude for the process, but realize, hey, you've probably come a long way.
00:15:08.759 --> 00:15:09.000
Right.
00:15:09.239 --> 00:15:12.119
And I know this thing is difficult, but you know, feelings are temporary.
00:15:12.279 --> 00:15:13.479
You're going to get through this.
00:15:13.799 --> 00:15:15.479
And living by principles, right?
00:15:15.559 --> 00:15:21.399
Like something I talk about on a regular basis is like principles over feelings.
00:15:21.559 --> 00:15:27.479
And now what I mean by that is like not it's not to say you don't have them, like you do have feelings, right?
00:15:27.639 --> 00:15:27.719
Right.
00:15:27.959 --> 00:15:34.439
But it's more so about doing it in an intelligent way because a lot of times when we come up against those circumstances, we give up, right?
00:15:34.519 --> 00:15:36.039
We we throw in the towel, we give in.
00:15:36.199 --> 00:15:38.679
And maybe we just kind of believe healing is not possible.
00:15:40.279 --> 00:15:43.239
60% of Americans have at least one chronic disease.
00:15:43.479 --> 00:15:43.639
Right.
00:15:43.799 --> 00:15:46.039
Now, is that because they can't get well?
00:15:46.119 --> 00:15:47.479
Is it because it's just impossible?
00:15:47.959 --> 00:15:50.519
No, the solution is always available, right?
00:15:50.599 --> 00:15:54.519
The solution exists, but we're not receptive to it based off our current paradigm.
00:15:55.159 --> 00:15:58.679
Maybe we're asking disempowering questions or reasons like, why me?
00:15:58.839 --> 00:15:59.799
Why is this happening?
00:16:00.439 --> 00:16:02.759
It's not until we start to shift that question.
00:16:03.239 --> 00:16:05.079
See, that is uh that is more empowering, right?
00:16:05.159 --> 00:16:06.279
Okay, what can I learn from this?
00:16:06.359 --> 00:16:07.159
How can I grow from this?
00:16:07.239 --> 00:16:09.000
How can I embrace this and all these different things?
00:16:09.239 --> 00:16:11.959
So we start to look for different reasons why we can't go well.
00:16:12.039 --> 00:16:17.399
We start to stack the evidence in our favor that's possible, instead of like being, hey, this is a this is not gonna even a possibility, right?
00:16:17.479 --> 00:16:22.439
So we start to look for reasons to get well, and essentially your brain is gonna find what you're looking for.
00:16:22.519 --> 00:16:22.679
Right.
00:16:22.839 --> 00:16:23.959
So that's the way I look at it.
00:16:24.199 --> 00:16:24.439
Right.
00:16:24.599 --> 00:16:27.879
Now, how um is this uh how old are you?
00:16:28.599 --> 00:16:28.919
28.
00:16:29.159 --> 00:16:44.279
Okay, so so you were 16 diagnosed, so 22, you went through it so the last six years, so this has been consuming of your life for at least twelve the last twelve years, you know, so it was the learn to, and then you get to the point you're like, now I have to tell people about it.
00:16:44.759 --> 00:16:50.679
You know, so you uh and I get that because that's I understand that feeling is like as you're going through it.
00:16:50.759 --> 00:16:57.319
I mean, there's limited information out there, um accurate information, you know.
00:16:57.399 --> 00:17:02.599
There's the the testing is terrible um if you go to the hospital, the treatments are terrible at the hospital.
00:17:02.679 --> 00:17:09.480
You talk about integrative medicine um and holistics, and and those are you know, that's what saved my life just the same.
00:17:09.640 --> 00:17:21.880
You know, I um and my doctor when I went back to him after I went through another provider, uh said, Thank goodness that that's where you chose to go because I wouldn't have been able to do that for you.
00:17:22.039 --> 00:17:26.279
And that's the hospital protocol, you know, what he was what he was describing.
00:17:26.440 --> 00:17:29.559
Basically, he could have given me doxycycline and that was it.
00:17:29.720 --> 00:17:41.000
And you know, I go there and and it was a whole body, you know, top to bottom, you know, looking at from the different blood draws to seeing where the infections still lied.
00:17:41.159 --> 00:17:46.759
And yeah, it was it was pretty intense therapy, which I'm thankful for because but there's still that residue.
00:17:47.000 --> 00:17:47.240
Right.
00:17:47.480 --> 00:17:55.559
So it's like, how do you, you know, how do you you you know, you get through the hard part and then you still wake up and you're like, why am I feeling like this?
00:17:55.720 --> 00:17:56.759
I'm not that old.
00:17:57.000 --> 00:17:57.960
Why am I doing this?
00:17:58.119 --> 00:18:00.119
You know, because I I I go through that still.
00:18:00.519 --> 00:18:18.359
I mean, I I last, you know, last week I had an upper GI and I had an MRI and and I still have to have another, you know, uh the the colonoscopy and and things because they're searching for what's wrong with me and they're not finding it because my body hates me because of Lyme disease.
00:18:19.319 --> 00:18:20.440
That's what I keep saying.
00:18:20.599 --> 00:18:26.519
But this it's because it's it's something neurological that's it that's messing with the automatic functions.
00:18:26.679 --> 00:18:37.079
Yeah, I mean, and and there's you know, there's no proof for anything, and there's no way to say it, but it's like this is how I feel, but it's invisible to everybody else that wants to see it.
00:18:37.319 --> 00:18:39.559
Yeah, and that self-talk is so key, right?
00:18:39.720 --> 00:18:50.599
Because we're kind of like I mean, even that can be like a form of like nutritionist sense, like our self-talk in terms of uh you know how we think, how we feel, all these things that come together, right?
00:18:50.679 --> 00:18:55.319
But yeah, with the medical system, as you mentioned, it's like a lot of diffic it's really difficult to get a diagnosis and all these things.
00:18:55.399 --> 00:19:00.039
So it's kind of like there's so many people who have to look and look and look, it's like they don't know what's happening.
00:19:00.359 --> 00:19:11.000
Right, and I understand that there's you know, there's a lot of ailments out there, and we can't expect the doctors to know absolutely every in and out of every symptom and what ailment that they go to.
00:19:11.159 --> 00:19:29.240
Um, but there's you know, you know, there's never been a push for Lyme disease since the what the 1970s until now, um, and when all of a sudden there's a a vaccine for it, you know, and some big corporation can make some money, you know, and all of a sudden Lyme disease is on the radar of everybody.
00:19:29.319 --> 00:19:32.279
And of course the alpha gal thing freaks a lot of people out too.
00:19:32.440 --> 00:19:32.599
Yeah.
00:19:32.919 --> 00:19:36.599
But that luckily isn't deer ticks, that's that's you know the lone star tick.
00:19:36.679 --> 00:19:42.519
But you know, and that's the thing is every tick can carry something different, it's just depending on where you are and where you get infected.
00:19:42.759 --> 00:19:43.399
Yeah, that's cool.
00:19:43.559 --> 00:19:45.399
And some a lot of them don't have anything either.
00:19:45.559 --> 00:19:45.639
Right.
00:19:45.960 --> 00:19:51.319
So it's kind of like well, and they always rely on a rash that doesn't always present itself, you know.
00:19:51.399 --> 00:19:55.240
So there's all these things so it's a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to this.
00:19:55.559 --> 00:20:01.240
And it's just like, you know, so you survived, you you are a survivor of Lyme disease.
00:20:01.319 --> 00:20:11.159
You were able to come back out of that darkness because that's what it is, it puts you in some really crazy places, and you know, so now you're you're on that I gotta tell everybody.
00:20:11.240 --> 00:20:12.440
Yeah, so for sure.
00:20:12.679 --> 00:20:21.319
What you know, was it in you already, or was it something that you already knew that you wanted to kind of go that way?
00:20:21.480 --> 00:20:30.759
Like when you were a kid, I want to go out there and save humanity and teach them all about this, or or did you want to just be like everyone else and be a teacher so you could have summers off?
00:20:31.000 --> 00:20:31.319
Right.
00:20:32.119 --> 00:20:36.440
No, I mean I was always kind of like like in a personal development, all these different things.
00:20:36.599 --> 00:20:36.919
Right.
00:20:37.159 --> 00:20:39.480
I mean, I was always passionate about wellness.
00:20:39.559 --> 00:20:40.919
I mean, football was my thing, yeah.
00:20:41.079 --> 00:20:43.480
But it's like, you know, life has other plans.
00:20:43.559 --> 00:20:43.639
Yeah.
00:20:43.799 --> 00:20:48.279
So that was it, like the disease I knew very on, like, hey, this is it, like this is it, this is the purpose.
00:20:48.440 --> 00:20:50.839
And that was the number one thing that helps you get through all these challenges.
00:20:50.919 --> 00:20:52.759
Is it I said it's like there's no there's no option.
00:20:53.319 --> 00:20:54.039
I decided.
00:20:54.200 --> 00:20:55.480
Like there's no in-between.
00:20:55.559 --> 00:20:58.359
I don't care what's going to happen, like I'm going to make it.
00:20:58.440 --> 00:20:58.599
Yes.
00:20:58.839 --> 00:20:59.000
Right?
00:20:59.079 --> 00:21:02.279
There it like and you do everything in your power to make that happen, right?
00:21:02.440 --> 00:21:04.440
You build that forward momentum every single day.
00:21:04.599 --> 00:21:07.639
And you know, at some point, like you're going to reach your goal, right?
00:21:07.720 --> 00:21:08.119
Right.
00:21:08.359 --> 00:21:21.240
So, I mean another thing I think about within that is like in terms of chronic disease, like I would never say that somebody can't get well, but I'm also not gonna say that everyone can heal 100% of the time from everything, right?
00:21:21.399 --> 00:21:21.879
Right.
00:21:22.279 --> 00:21:29.079
But what's coming to mind is like there are certain things on paper that people should not get well from, like say what cancer, whatever it is.
00:21:29.159 --> 00:21:31.559
Like, like on paper, you should not get through this.
00:21:31.720 --> 00:21:33.079
But the reality is people have.
00:21:33.240 --> 00:21:33.480
Right.
00:21:33.639 --> 00:21:36.119
So I'm not gonna say that you can't, I would never say you can't do something.
00:21:36.200 --> 00:21:39.480
The reality is to check it within your own self, you have checking your own inner guidance, your own heart.
00:21:39.639 --> 00:21:41.240
Like, this is something that's possible, right?
00:21:41.319 --> 00:21:41.559
Right.
00:21:41.720 --> 00:21:49.960
So oftentimes, like these external figures like the doctors, they mean very well, but they don't, they're not in your shoes, they're not living your life, right?
00:21:50.119 --> 00:21:57.559
They they they care, but it oftentimes, even if it's something minor, like a moderate disease, you're not gonna die from, right?
00:21:57.639 --> 00:22:09.559
It's like they do everything they can to help you, but if they tell you they can't get you can't get well, and it's not aligned with your goals, you need to give yourself permission to change providers, change someone who is actually aligned with your goals, right?
00:22:09.639 --> 00:22:11.159
They just don't know how to help you, right?
00:22:11.319 --> 00:22:16.519
And there's so many, there's there's so much possibility, so much information out there in terms of wellness.
00:22:16.679 --> 00:22:19.319
And they're taught like a subset of it, right?
00:22:19.480 --> 00:22:24.039
Pharmacology, whatever it is, and many things within that, which it has its place, right?
00:22:24.200 --> 00:22:25.399
Like for emergencies and things like that.
00:22:25.639 --> 00:23:27.879
that like it it does have its place and it works in many instances however if you want long term sustainable wellness you need to take control of that through our day-to-day choices right and going back to powers in our hands so that's that's a most exciting thing I look at too right and how do you find like when did you like when you have to advocate for yourself um you know towards a a medical professional how do you find um mixing in because you use the word holistic and that you know Western medicine doesn't necessarily like the crossover as much they're getting better but you know it's you know witch doctors versus you know doctors you know it's basically kind of for a long time I mean even my own primary care it has that same viewpoint and he says you know I'll put he puts me he's like I'll use you as my example like on the top shelf you know because I actually see that it works for you but he goes you know I don't know if I said but it depends on if the person is committed to going through all of the the necessary steps.
00:23:28.039 --> 00:24:11.559
00:24:12.919 --> 00:24:28.279
The thing is oftentimes like if you go to specialists they're not communicating with each other unfortunately so you have something called polypharmacy which is like drug interaction but your specialist for something doesn't have any interaction with your other specialists.
00:24:28.599 --> 00:24:54.599
00:24:54.759 --> 00:24:59.480
Right like functional medicine natural past because these people you don't have to fight with they already know.
00:24:59.639 --> 00:24:59.879
Right.
00:25:00.039 --> 00:25:03.639
So and they're not necessarily always covered by insurance.
00:25:03.960 --> 00:25:05.399
No that's a thing.
00:25:05.639 --> 00:25:09.639
Well and then and and that's the problem is is that they're not covered by insurance.
00:25:09.799 --> 00:25:21.559
I mean and and but the the first thing most doctors not saying all but you know most doctors will go to is here let me write a script we have something that'll fix that.
00:25:21.720 --> 00:25:35.000
And what that does is it masks or it fixes the symptoms that you're feeling but it might be masking the root cause and from the holistic side they're looking for the root cause because they want to treat you from from all of that going forward.
00:25:35.399 --> 00:25:37.399
Um because that will take care of it.
00:25:37.480 --> 00:25:57.399
But if you take say a blood pressure medication that you know and something you know it then or a diuretic or something like that and and that masks you know the potential that you have a tumor on your prostate if you're a man, you know, um because you're urinating more because you're you're taking a diuretic.
00:25:57.559 --> 00:26:03.079
So all of these extra medications are masking other symptoms that your body might be trying to tell you is wrong.
00:26:03.319 --> 00:26:09.639
And so it's like that's I can understand where that could be a leading cause of death because you just assume that everything is right.
00:26:09.799 --> 00:26:14.200
I mean I've had bad doctors so I I've I've had good doctors and I've had bad doctors.
00:26:14.359 --> 00:26:14.519
Right.
00:26:14.759 --> 00:26:17.720
And so I've had I know I've been in that position.
00:26:17.799 --> 00:26:23.879
So I've learned how to advocate for myself so that's interesting how um because it it's hard.
00:26:24.039 --> 00:26:28.039
It's really hard it can be well you didn't go to medical school how do you know are you Dr.
00:26:28.200 --> 00:26:28.759
Google?
00:26:29.240 --> 00:26:33.720
Sorry but you know it's like sometimes you do really have to defend yourself.
00:26:33.960 --> 00:27:23.240
00:27:23.399 --> 00:27:34.039
I'm I'm very much against I'm not I I'm not saying don't like believe I mean I obviously use western medicine because I have to you know because it is part of our society that's how we keep healthy.
00:27:34.759 --> 00:27:38.679
But it's hard when you are trying to to advocate for yourself.
00:27:39.159 --> 00:27:53.319
Now when you talk about now it's not just wellness when body physical body um it's also you know the mind and and the soul and and and that so how do you what's your plan or what do you do to work with that?
00:27:53.559 --> 00:27:59.319
Yeah everything is connected right so as just meant there's mind body connection that we can't really dispute at this point.
00:27:59.399 --> 00:28:02.679
Like everything is one entity how how we think it's separate I really don't understand.
00:28:02.839 --> 00:28:08.119
But there's two sciences like talk about a lot it's like psychoneuroimmunology and psychoneuroendrinology.
00:28:08.200 --> 00:28:12.440
So what that translates to is how our thoughts our emotions literally impact our overall biology.
00:28:13.000 --> 00:28:17.559
So every single thought and emotion I think is producing correlating chemistry within our bodies.
00:28:17.799 --> 00:28:34.279
So like serotonin is primarily related to like uplifting moods like happiness and all these different different things right cortisol that's your number one stress hormone you know epinephrine is kind of like this kind of stress response but it's not like the highest can get but essentially everything works together.
00:28:35.079 --> 00:29:03.399
00:29:03.480 --> 00:29:11.480
So really getting to know who you are is very important like going back to questions right because and many times like questions are the answer.
00:29:11.720 --> 00:29:29.240
And what that means is like the more questions that we ask in in towards our goals, our values and all these different things it's going to help us get those answers right because a lot of times again what we're asking is these disempowering things that are leading us towards these um negative results in our life right so we have to take control of that mind.
00:29:29.559 --> 00:29:41.319
And a lot of times we need to give ourselves a space to think right because we're so distracted by so many different things whether it's uh you know the TV media like there's so many different things that kind of pull us away from what is real in a sense.
00:29:41.799 --> 00:29:45.399
There's a lot of static online but let's lend to listen to internal guidance that we all have.
00:29:45.720 --> 00:30:08.119
00:30:08.519 --> 00:30:14.200
We're not really in touch with what we want or what is real and all these different types of things so you pull away from fear.
00:30:14.359 --> 00:30:20.039
I mean fear is something I talk about and uh it's a no fear like Kno W.
00:30:20.599 --> 00:30:23.079
It's understand your tendencies, your dispositions to it.
00:30:23.240 --> 00:30:48.119
00:30:48.359 --> 00:31:09.399
Right right yeah and now where have you so from the point of being now are you so let me go back here so now we're on we're on mind so we talk about body we're talking about mind we're talking but like how the whole package and how how you're delivering it now what are you doing?
00:31:09.559 --> 00:31:17.639
Because you you're packaging this to go out and spread the word you have a podcast yes that you are putting this message out there on.
00:31:17.879 --> 00:31:18.200
I do.
00:31:18.599 --> 00:31:26.039
So tell me about that and how you how you connect all of this together to deliver all of the information yeah for sure.
00:31:26.359 --> 00:31:32.919
So podcasting how I got into that is that was the number one thing that actually helped me learn when I was in that sixth date.
00:31:33.159 --> 00:31:35.559
I just was like obsessed podcast.
00:31:35.720 --> 00:31:35.799
Right.
00:31:35.960 --> 00:31:38.519
Like I was all I did was listen to podcasts and how to get well.
00:31:38.679 --> 00:31:38.919
Right.
00:31:39.079 --> 00:31:42.759
And I knew right then there like hey I'm going to start with this is what I'm going to do.
00:31:42.839 --> 00:31:44.279
This is gonna be the number one thing I do.
00:31:44.440 --> 00:31:47.240
And from the point that I knew the point happened was seven years.
00:31:47.639 --> 00:31:49.720
It took me seven years to actually do that because I wasn't ready.
00:31:49.799 --> 00:31:50.919
Like I didn't really know what I was doing.
00:31:51.000 --> 00:32:06.599
I I was very much in a low-level RD state to myself so no being in that process it's such a great great way to connect I mean I talk to people every single week from across the world I'm doing in person now so that's cool.
00:32:06.839 --> 00:32:20.599
Well and that's that's the thing is you know I first I why I keep laughing in my brain here is is thinking I'm like how does this darn little bug get everybody to want to do a podcast this little tick.
00:32:20.759 --> 00:32:31.799
But you're right because there it there was something that it it there was a fire that said I need to get this out and and this was not on the my radar by any means but it was the same fire.
00:32:31.960 --> 00:32:51.079
It was I need to get out there and start talking to people and now you're talking global people I'm trying to keep everybody local because I I was so isolated and I think that we all became so isolated from other reasons and whatnot and and I think the computer takes a lot of that away that I committed that it's gotta be in person.
00:32:51.240 --> 00:33:08.919
Yeah um that's where they're yeah where this had to be yeah yeah it's like like the magic I find in it is like you know having like all these conversations within people who are on top of the game and top of their field right and you can kind of like just be a broadcaster that to anyone who needs it.
00:33:09.159 --> 00:33:18.440
Right it's like it's like the free information right but you can actually kind of utilize like these things to learn anything honestly like you can learn uh from the best.
00:33:18.679 --> 00:33:18.919
Right.
00:33:19.159 --> 00:33:20.679
And that's that's the way I look at it too.
00:33:20.759 --> 00:33:27.159
It's like it's very fun just being able to kind of like learn a lot of different things and kind of not spread the message and the mission every single day.
00:33:27.480 --> 00:33:27.720
Right.
00:33:27.960 --> 00:33:40.279
And what um what have you taken from your learning from being a podcaster in that like just getting out there and doing that like how do you how do you like it and how do you at this month it's three years.
00:33:40.359 --> 00:33:41.960
All right so good job.
00:33:42.200 --> 00:33:42.519
Thank you.
00:33:42.599 --> 00:33:47.879
I mean the first half I would say it was just me primarily I mean I had some guests right it's like it was very sporadic.
00:33:48.279 --> 00:33:54.440
Now I released two interviews a week when I do a solo so I'm doing a lot of guesting and a lot of uh interviews myself.
00:33:54.759 --> 00:34:00.759
Nice yeah it's like it's very it's very fun to do right and I know I'm on purpose I'm on a mission every single day.
00:34:00.919 --> 00:34:20.840
00:34:21.079 --> 00:34:36.119
And that's that's the number one thing because a lot of times we're we're not on purpose we're not on our path and if I could talk about a little bit further in terms of purpose like what does that even mean what is purpose it's about growth and service right but now everyone expresses that it's gonna be different.
00:34:36.279 --> 00:34:44.360
We all have our own path we all have our own mission we have all on these all these things together right and also I believe it encompasses everything.
00:34:44.519 --> 00:35:02.279
So you are the foundation of your life so your character really matters like all these things they come together but then your health your wealth relationships is optimizing your life making for that forward progress and being of service all these different things and another thing I thought about recently is like if you know your standards your values your principles all these different things it's very good to know.
00:35:02.519 --> 00:35:15.719
But then when you're tested like when challenges happen when these things are put to the test and you actually stand by that you stand with integrity that is where you feel purpose because now you realize hey what you do matters how you respond to things matter.
00:35:15.880 --> 00:35:22.519
How you uh traverse certain adversity it matters because it's only to change the outcome right so you're living on purpose.
00:35:22.679 --> 00:35:22.840
Right.
00:35:23.000 --> 00:35:24.599
And all these things that work together.
00:35:25.000 --> 00:36:14.119
00:36:14.279 --> 00:36:17.000
You know so they didn't have another reason that they put in there.
00:36:17.159 --> 00:36:22.679
Those that had a purpose after the fact they they correlate the same thing to receiving a monthly paycheck.
00:36:22.759 --> 00:36:22.920
Yeah.
00:36:23.079 --> 00:36:33.960
You know so it's like if you have a 401 or social security or something make sure that you get a monthly paycheck because they correlate that to some sort of trigger of happiness inside the human brain.
00:36:36.360 --> 00:36:37.639
I don't think I'll ever retire.
00:36:37.799 --> 00:36:41.559
I mean I'm just so happy just to get out there and just talk to as many people as possible.
00:36:41.960 --> 00:36:43.880
That's what my passion is and that's what this is.
00:36:44.279 --> 00:36:56.039
You have to have a vision for your life right is just I want to get out there and talk to as many people and let them tell all of their stories because that's the key to showing that we don't have to change our differences.
00:36:56.199 --> 00:36:59.320
You know we don't have to be different you know we don't have to be perfectly alike.
00:36:59.559 --> 00:37:36.119
00:37:36.199 --> 00:37:38.119
And it's like I wonder what that guy does for a living.
00:37:38.279 --> 00:38:13.960
00:38:14.199 --> 00:38:35.480
00:38:35.559 --> 00:38:52.679
00:38:53.000 --> 00:38:53.239
Right.
00:38:53.400 --> 00:39:00.199
It's like taking that you know 30 second roller coaster ride versus you know planning something that will be exciting for the rest of your life.
00:39:01.000 --> 00:39:11.000
For sure it's just that instant moment you know versus is the long term um yeah for sure of uh you know just taking a little bit of something you know and and spreading it out.
00:39:11.639 --> 00:39:34.039
And I think that that's the exciting part because this you know in this world of of what you do with podcasts and and what we do with just social media in that even though sometimes there's too much of it and I think it takes away from the human connection um but you think about the human connection of not talking about people globally so how do people find you what what's the name of your podcast?
00:39:34.279 --> 00:40:11.320
00:40:11.880 --> 00:40:12.599
That's perfect.
00:40:13.000 --> 00:40:13.639
That's perfect.
00:40:13.799 --> 00:40:22.440
Well I appreciate that and then do you have any um do you do any like seminars or any uh coaching or anything outside so actually I do speaking as well.
00:40:22.599 --> 00:40:22.759
Okay.
00:40:22.920 --> 00:40:32.279
Uh more so locally like I that's the number one thing as well because you were just talking about this like in-person connection right because yeah I honestly don't hear many people from the listenership of the show.
00:40:32.599 --> 00:40:41.880
No you don't they're out there you know but uh right I don't know a whole lot of them right but then you get the the interaction on maybe speaking to a group of 30 people at low foods.
00:40:42.119 --> 00:40:42.440
Right.
00:40:42.679 --> 00:40:50.039
And then you kind of like what I find with all these different things I write as well I'm a writer and they all it's the same message but it's expressed different ways.
00:40:50.199 --> 00:40:59.159
So you kind of learn a lot process it's you kind of express the message in different ways of what the person needs like kind of calibrating the audience in a sense but keeping the message authentic right.
00:40:59.320 --> 00:40:59.639
Right.
00:41:00.039 --> 00:41:56.279
00:41:56.360 --> 00:42:14.360
I mean there's so much that can we we could go on for you know have a a 12 hour conversation about each leg of of wellness you know and it is a lot and and break it down um but that's what your podcast is for is to break that down so that's where they need to go and listen to Anthony Gostella wellness.
00:42:14.519 --> 00:42:15.400
And where do they find that?
00:42:15.480 --> 00:42:17.880
Is that on the It's not everything all the podcast platforms.
00:42:18.279 --> 00:42:29.320
All the majors okay well brilliant yeah and so as we as we close down our conversation here at Anthony um one of the things that we like to do as a connection point is to ask what is your personal anthem?
00:42:29.639 --> 00:42:54.199
00:42:54.279 --> 00:42:59.000
I don't care what's going in my way I'm going to find a way right it's what stands in the way becomes the way.
00:42:59.079 --> 00:42:59.239
Right.
00:42:59.400 --> 00:43:07.159
Right and you focus on what tends to expand right so you kind of say focus on mission every single day overcome these things and no what you thought was impossible becomes possible.
00:43:07.400 --> 00:43:07.719
Right.
00:43:07.880 --> 00:43:09.719
And that's a good note to right there.
00:43:09.799 --> 00:43:33.799
00:43:33.880 --> 00:43:40.519
That's the key because that's the only way to get healthy um and to pull yourself forward is to say I can do this.
00:43:40.679 --> 00:43:53.079
You know it's like going back to Thomas the train right you know I think I can I think I can I know I can you know and just having that confidence within yourself and that's that's the first step because only you can change you.
00:43:53.400 --> 00:43:56.759
And and that's the key is you know only you can do the work on you too.
00:43:56.920 --> 00:43:58.279
You know 100% makes sense.
00:43:58.599 --> 00:44:05.639
