07. Alignment Over Applause: Sandra Dee Robinson on The Power of the Uncomfortable No

In this episode, I sit down with Sandra Dee Robinson, an actress turned communication coach whose journey has moved from global television stages to deeply personal work around voice, values and presence. What struck me most in this conversation was not the scale of her career, but the moment she realised she could perform confidently for millions and still feel unable to speak as herself.

As we spoke, it became clear that applause and alignment are not the same thing. Success can be visible, celebrated and externally validated, yet still feel disconnected from who we truly are. This conversation is about reclaiming your voice, living your values consistently, and having the courage to choose integrity over approval.

What We Talk About in This Episode:

• The difference between performing and being

• Why alignment matters more than applause

• Living your values in every aspect of life

• Burnout, presence, and the illusion of “taking a break”

• Reclaiming your voice without seeking permission

Questions for You to Reflect On:

• Where in my life am I choosing applause over alignment?

• Am I climbing the right ladder?

• Whose expectations am I living by?
