ABOUT THIS EPISODE
In this week’s episode of the League Express Podcast, Editor Martyn Sadler and Host Jake Kearnan are joined by Rugby League pundit Jason Costigan to discuss all the biggest talking points from Magic Weekend, the upcoming State of Origin decider, and the ongoing negotiations between the NRL and Super League.
Costo shares his thoughts on the future of the game, including what Peter V'landys should do if the RFL and Super League fail to reach an agreement with the NRL. The trio also debate where investment should be directed to grow Rugby League and reveal which two new clubs they believe the NRL should own in an expanded Super League competition.
They also discuss the appearance of Andy Burnham at Magic Weekend, debating whether it was simply a political opportunity or a genuine sign that he could become a powerful advocate for Rugby League in government.
To round off the episode, Martyn, Jake and Jason preview the State of Origin decider, giving their predictions on who will lift the shield and who they believe will take home the Wally Lewis Medal as player of the series.
