ABOUT THIS EPISODE
We praise from a place of fullness.
Mary's focus was vertical. She sat at Jesus' feet and was filled, which clarified her vision and attitude.
Martha's focus was parallel, which distorted her vision and attitude and hindered her hearing of Jesus.
Is your focus vertical or parallel? Be still, sit at Jesus' feet, and be filled.
