Cindy Marler: Everything we do has an advantage and a disadvantage. And as we mature and grow, we want to be able to think of those for each situation, because this helps us be a well-rounded thinker. And even Jesus would point out the advantages and the disadvantages of doing the things he taught. For example, he says in Matthew, but I say unto you, love your enemies, that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven. So he's telling you why. And then he's saying, Another place in Matthew, judge not that ye be not judged, meaning don't judge others, because then you will be judged as well. So I love that Jesus teaches us that the advantages and disadvantages of doing things that Jesus taught, or just about how about our actions? How about teaching ourselves that our actions are going to have an advantage or a disadvantage? If I get up and go on that walk this morning that I don't want to go on, I'm going to feel better and I'm going to have given myself exercise. The disadvantage. I'm gonna need a shower versus if I didn't go on the walk, maybe I don't need a shower. So are we teaching ourselves the advantages and disadvantages to our actions to help our decision making? Because Jesus did and he was the best teacher. So we can learn from that. And every situation has both. There's an advantage to a situation and a disadvantage. Take a minute just for today and think about something you have coming up. Maybe it's an activity you've committed to, maybe it's a trip you want to take, maybe it's a book you want to read. Maybe it's someone you want to spend time with. And I want you to think about the advantage of that situation and the disadvantage, because both exist. And ignoring either one is not going to lead you to the great planned life that you're wanting to seek after that God has for you. Knowing the advantage and disadvantage of every situation you're in is going to help you live that Christ-like life you've been looking for. So just think just for today about these situations. What's the advantage? what's the disadvantage of each one? And I'll talk to you guys tomorrow.
