ABOUT THIS EPISODE
The hosts briefly discuss liking the script “First Chair” by Roy Rosovich (Rick Rosovich’s son), set around an orchestra competition and a young violinist torn between classical music and a DJ path. They then shift to updates on “The Kellys,” noting Arnold Schwarzenegger and Geena Davis are out and praising the new cast, including Liam Hemsworth and Kelsey Asbille, with a detour into reactions to the bleak Taylor Sheridan film “Wind River.” Much of the episode focuses on A24’s push for “Onslaught” at San Diego Comic-Con, including a panel hosted by Kevin Smith, possible footage, and strong praise for Adria’s performance, while describing the film as action-heavy, bloody, and unapologetic. They also discuss studio economics, box-office tracking and prediction tools, low-budget horror successes, and the risks of $200–250M films, plus mention Arnold agreeing to do the podcast, Geena Davis playing Dorothea Puente, other cast members who may guest, travel impressions of Hungary/Greece, concerns about declining reading and phone addiction, condolences for the host’s mother, and lighter talk about “Smokey and the Bandit” and In-N-Out
