🎙️ Socialism, Storytelling & Saving America | In Layman’s Terms with Guy Nohra
In this thought-provoking episode of In Layman’s Terms, Guy Nohra welcomes Katie Gorka to discuss what she sees as the growing influence of socialism and Marxist ideology in America—and why organization, education, and compelling storytelling are essential to preserving the nation's founding principles.
Drawing from years of political activism and policy work, Gorka explains why she believes grassroots organization has become one of the most important battlegrounds in American politics. She argues that lasting political change depends not only on winning elections but also on building strong local networks, developing future leaders, and engaging citizens at the community level.
The conversation also explores the power of culture and storytelling in shaping public opinion. Nohra and Gorka discuss why narratives often influence people more than statistics, how media and social platforms affect political discourse, and why conservatives must become more effective communicators if they hope to compete in today's information landscape.
Along the way, Gorka reflects on lessons from history—including Friedrich Hayek's The Road to Serfdom—and explains why understanding past struggles against socialism and communism can help Americans navigate today's political challenges. The discussion also touches on civics education, parental choice, foreign influence campaigns, and the importance of preserving American ideals for future generations.
Whether you're interested in political strategy, civic engagement, or the role of culture in shaping society, this episode offers a wide-ranging conversation about the ideas and institutions that influence America's future.
