ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Adjusting for investor purchases, roughly one-third of the Baltimore region’s homebuyers are able to make all-cash purchases. And when you look at areas with limited inventory and higher home values, that percentage drops to as low as 12 percent. That means most Baltimore homebuyers, probably just like you and me, are taking out mortgages.
Long and Foster partners with one of the region’s premier home mortgage lenders, The Fiscella Team of Prosperity Home Mortgage, to help our clients purchase their homes.
I recently spoke with Nicole Fiscella, senior mortgage consultant, and Jennifer Lee, mortgage loan officer, of The Fiscella Team. Prosperity’s expertise extends from programs exclusive to Prosperity like Competitive Edge to federal, state, and local programs designed to help clients cross the threshold into home ownership. We focused on a popular state program, the Maryland Mortgage Program, and how it can help homebuyers overcome barriers to entry. We also discuss credit scores, interest rates, and why you should speak with a lender before you shop.
