ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Chris, Franco, and Jonathan (all recovering from illness) share one-minute reviews: Chris critiques Ted Lasso’s unfocused season, likes Lanterns more as it continues, enjoys The Paper season 2 but dislikes its non-finale ending and recycled Office plots, notes Solar Opposites’ Netflix pickup, praises Dark Matter, and finds Demon Slayer’s season structure convoluted; he enjoyed the new video-game-based Resident Evil for its body-horror/comedy mix but calls the new Scary Movie “garbage.” Jonathan raves about Sinners (Ryan Coogler; Michael B. Jordan as twins), praising its genre shift, music, visuals, and performances. They discuss news: settlements clearing Paramount Skydance’s $110B acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery with theatrical-output conditions, Netflix using AI Gene Wilder’s voice for a Willy Wonka reality show, and JustWatch launching its own streaming service. Main review covers M. Night Shyamalan’s Old, debating premise, dialogue/exposition, aging/logic issues, and the pharma-twist ending; scores: Franco 55, Jonathan 60, Chris 85. Next picks: Matilda (January) and Rubber (next episode).
