ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Brad and JB kick off episode 38 celebrating National White Chocolate Day (a tribute to NBA legend Jason Williams) and the autumnal equinox, which JB has now heard referenced exactly twice in his life. That spirals into a debate over vocabulary ("penultimate," "eclectic"), a detour into Brad's awkward Jennifer Love Hewitt/Taco Bell encounter, and a passionate breakdown of celebrity birthday lists — leading into news on tour dates for the Tall Tales Tour (Asheville, Nashville, Cleveland, and Cincinnati) and a shoutout to their newest executive producer. In First Class Mail, the hosts continue their long-running debate over what qualifies as a "real" sport, with JB defending his stance that NASCAR doesn't count (despite an impressive breakdown of aerodynamic drafting tricks) while Brad argues in NASCAR's favor. Listener emails cover the joys (and complications) of "first day of school" intimacy for parents, plus a hilarious follow-up on cats that resemble a certain European dictator — and other celebrities. Two Tall Tales features the real story of California's "serial butt sniffer," repeatedly arrested for stalking women in stores, leading to a deep dive into the science of contaminated farts, dating app horror stories, and O.J. Simpson-themed dating profiles. The final story covers Australia's real-life "Coffin Confessor," a man paid by dying clients to crash their own funerals and reveal secrets, expose affairs, and even deliver posthumous insults — spinning off into fantasy funeral pranks, stripper tributes, and a legendary story about a "Bang Bang, Niner Gang" chant met with dead silence at a real funeral. For bonus episodes and exclusive content join us on patreonWww.patreon.com/Heightenedbabble Follow us on social media!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heightenedbabblepodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@heightenedbabblepodcastFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/people/Heightened-Babble-Podcast/61585004459148/X: https://x.com/heightenedbabblBrad's YouTube: @BradWilliamscomedy Brad's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradwilliamscomicJB's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jbballcomedyJB's YouTube: @JBBallComedy Isaac's Youtube : @IsaacAbrams Chapters00:00 – Cold open: Jennifer Love Hewitt/Taco Bell bit02:24 – Intro to episode 3803:36 – Word origins: penultimate & eclectic tangent06:20 – Hobbit Day & Lord of the Rings hot takes08:06 – National White Chocolate Day: Jason Williams09:15 – Celebrity birthday debate12:44 – Tall Tales Tour dates announced15:23 – Social links & Patreon/executive producer shoutouts17:17 – First Class Mail begins18:01 – The "what is a sport" debate (NASCAR)24:52 – First day of school listener email27:20 – Cats that look like dictators (and other celebrities)32:38 – Two Tall Tales intro33:00 – Serial butt sniffer story begins39:34 – The fart contamination "study" tangent51:29 – The Coffin Confessor story begins59:39 – Funeral pranks & stripper tribute videos1:03:23 – The "Bang Bang, Niner Gang" funeral story1:07:05 – Episode wrap-up & recap1:13:30 – Patreon/executive producer sign-offHeightened Babble is what happens when two stand-up comedians who couldn’t be built more differently take on the world one ridiculous conversation at a time.
