00:00:00
Speaker 1: This is Hawks Live, presented by the Dining District, Death of Bellevue Collection, Drove down Field Open, Touchdown Hawks broadcasting live from Bellevue Square Center Court.
00:00:14
Speaker 2: Here's your host, Michael Butlers, along with.
00:00:18
Speaker 3: My guy Paul Moyer aka Paul Moyer. You're listening to Hawks Line presented by the Dining District got the Bellvy Collection. The show is at seven every Thursday right here in Salles four seven ten we are at Bellvy Square, Censor Court. My guy just came back from vacation. He was in Hawaii. Didn't bring me no kiss. I did just check you one up.
00:00:37
Speaker 4: I gave you one. You may give it out, okay, all right, all.
00:00:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, you did to give me something. That's that's false. I apologize.
00:00:44
Speaker 5: How you doing, man, I've got a lot of things faults going on nowadays. What I'm doing, well, Yeah, I got not as good a tan as I was hoping for.
00:00:52
Speaker 4: But that was a good trip. That was. That was a lot of fun. It was needed.
00:00:55
Speaker 5: And you know the nice thing about being in anywhere nowadays don't matter. You don't miss football games, and it was I don't miss very many games, and maybe ten in the last forty some years where I haven't either been live or been on the broadcast, and so it's a little weird to watch a game from AFAR.
00:01:15
Speaker 4: But man, they look good.
00:01:17
Speaker 6: They didn't look good.
00:01:18
Speaker 5: They are they And you know it's not just that they're they're beating up on you know, obviously Arizona. Some people say, oh, bad competition. Arizona had not lost the game by more than four points all year. They just put a whooping up on the Cowboys the week previous. They have talent and we made them on both actually all three phases of the game. We we dominated, and we're one of the top three four teams probably right now in the league. Maybe i'd say probably top two. Throw the rams in there. I mean, this is a heavyweight battle about to come up.
00:01:50
Speaker 6: Yeah, we've been waiting for this one.
00:01:52
Speaker 3: So it's like, you felt like the Seahawks should have taken care of the Arizona Cardinals. You didn't want to look forward. I didn't think it was going to be a you know, the blowout that it was. It could have been worse than that. But obviously second half, you get the lead, you run the football or whatnot. But I think it was important for them to beat them the way that they beat them, for the defense to do what they did, and Tyree's Knight coming in with Ernest Jones being down and him calls in a fumble with scoop and score d law the first player in franchise history to have two scooping scores for a touchdown. It's only the fourth player in history of the NFL to do that. And we saw some things we've never seen before. Whenever Raves tells me, I've never seen this before, then I know that as special.
00:02:32
Speaker 4: Well because he would know.
00:02:34
Speaker 5: Look, how weird is it for Tyrese to do or to sack and strip the football in both almost identical plays.
00:02:41
Speaker 4: And obviously, look, Lawrence.
00:02:43
Speaker 5: Is just we have dogs on this team, and you could put that film on, you know, and even the guys who maybe not be the dog. I mean, guys who are just they're hunters, right, we don't have gatherers anymore. I mean, they hunt for the football. There's no fear when they get into the line. I mean, these guys they hit and even something that may not I mean, they're so good at what they do in coverage. We're just playing so well on both sides of the ball. I mean, offensive line looks really good. Nothing's ever perfect, but it's really good. You know, Sam Darnold, I've been saying this now. I guess he's the most talented quarterback in Seahawk history. I'm not backing down from that. I mean, he can make every throw, quick decisions. He I had one I forgot to send it to you. It was the one where it was a play action and he rolled out to his left and it was I think it was early on in the game and he and he caught js in on.
00:03:32
Speaker 4: A crossing route.
00:03:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, first drive.
00:03:35
Speaker 4: It was a first drive.
00:03:36
Speaker 5: And I kept rewinding and I froze it, and he's running to his left and I wish you could see what I'm doing here, but he's run into his left and all of a sudden, Sam gets on his left tippy toe and his and his right foot is now off the ground and the ball is He's in a complete position to throw the football, and actually he's already started his motion and JSN had not passed the defender yet, he was not.
00:04:00
Speaker 4: Open at that point.
00:04:01
Speaker 5: And Sam Donald just flicks the ball with his wrists and the ball spins and the windows about a three four foot window between the guy who's over by the sideline defender and the guy that jays N had just passed. I don't know how Sam Darnald knew that, but it was a perfect ball. And again, jays N didn't even have to move his hands. I mean it was put right there on the numbers. That's that's how well he's playing. Yeah, you know, and like we can be critical. You know, the center snap between him and Ola with Timmy, they got to they can't have that.
00:04:30
Speaker 4: They got you gotta fix that. The ball that he threw off.
00:04:34
Speaker 5: Of Barnett's head wasn't his fault either, by the way. I thought he got rid of it as quick as he could. And by the way, if he had have completed that, oh yeah, jays.
00:04:42
Speaker 4: N might have taken it to the house on a Sunday he was. And then I can't remember the other one. But you know, we're playing well.
00:04:50
Speaker 5: This is going to be a great game against two seven and two you know Super Bowl contended teams.
00:04:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think one of the other things I like, right, we talked about the defense and causing turn overs. We talked about Sam Darnold being a fishing as heck, JS n eighty two yards in the first half.
00:05:05
Speaker 6: Man, I want him to get a hundred again.
00:05:07
Speaker 3: Fell short of one hundred and ninety three with that run game one hundred and ninety eight yards on the ground. If it weren't for what three kneel downs, they would have been well over two hundred yards. He had Zach Charbona fourteen carries eighty three yards, one touchdown. Knine had fourteen for sixty seven and George Halani gives himself a touchdown too. I think, look, we haven't had that single performance that we are just wild about, but I will take one ninety eight every Sunday.
00:05:32
Speaker 4: Well.
00:05:33
Speaker 5: It was impressive and I felt like Canine finally found his rhythm. We know what we got with Sharbona and Jilani. That's a nice mixer too. You know when you run at that many times, how many times were running forty six? I mean, you know nowadays you don't give the ball to guys unless they're you know, Derreck Henry or something. You know, thirty plus times a game, you're gonna spread it out. There's very few one back offenses anymore. It was impressive and I'm gonna go to Canine. I felt like he finally found his rhythm and Okay, this is where I want to be and it's more quick hitting and and he bounced them outside and he and he you know, he busted, but he also hit a couple right up the middle and then bounced it and I said, okay, that's Canine. And you know he's got that ability to take it to the house at any time. So I just feel like the team, everybody knows their role right now, even if they're they're backups. I think we're gonna be okay with Ola Atenny, he came in. He did a nice job. You know, he's a different kind of player than than Sundella's old is a little bit more finesse and screen, you know, whereas Jason he's he's going to go attack and he's going to get to that second level quickly. But I don't think we'll we'll we'll miss him that much going into this. But uh yeah, we're we're playing well. It's the best our offensive line has looked, you know, certainly in the last five or six years.
00:06:52
Speaker 3: I mean it's only right that the offensive line gets gets hit with injury. Every other position got some wide out, not the QB DB's linebackers D line. I mean, this is football. We're in week eleven, so things like this are going to happen. That Actually, that was gonna be my next question, because you know Oldiwood Timmy, he has what sixty plus snaps this year, thirty three in the last game. He was a starter for like eight or nine games last year. So I think that's important for people to remember, is that, Yeah, he might have gotten beaten out by Sundale, but it's not like this guy is completely green and you're going in really concerned about it.
00:07:25
Speaker 6: If he can handle an.
00:07:26
Speaker 5: NFL game, No, I think you know him having time to recover and and just watch what's going on. The only thing I worried about was just the chemistry that you know Zabel and Bradford and Sundell have and and it's subtle. It's that subtle. When do I leave the double team, how long do I stay on?
00:07:46
Speaker 4: And it's subtle.
00:07:47
Speaker 5: I mean it's a fraction of a second. We're gonna be fine with with Oll. With Timmy. I don't think we'll see I don't think anybody's gonna see a noticeable difference.
00:07:56
Speaker 4: Is at least my.
00:07:57
Speaker 3: Hope check this out that our producer just handed me. Is darnld set a franchise record for fewest pass attempts in a game with twelve, only had four pass attempts in the second half. That is the epitome of we got this game under control.
00:08:12
Speaker 4: With forty plus points. That that works.
00:08:14
Speaker 5: And look all phasers were working obviously, defense score two touchdowns, just completely dominant. When you're up thirty was it thirty eight to nothing or thirty five to nothing? For sure, you don't have to throw throw it a bunch. And that's what's impressive about Sam Darnold. You know, he's not throwing the ball forty times a game, yet he is the most prolific.
00:08:33
Speaker 4: He's got the best numbers of.
00:08:34
Speaker 5: Any quarterback in the league right now, and you know, averaging almost ten yards per attempt.
00:08:39
Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it's impressive.
00:08:40
Speaker 3: And he's gonna go up against a quarterback who was doing some impressive things as well. We're gonna get into that later on in the show. We'll be joined by a Seahawk as well. But will we come back.
00:08:53
Speaker 4: That's what I'm at.
00:08:55
Speaker 3: We're gonna speak to safety Deanthony Bell.
00:08:57
Speaker 6: That's next. While you're on Hawks.
00:08:59
Speaker 2: Live broadcasting live from w Square Center.
00:09:05
Speaker 1: Corey, you were listening to Hawks Live presented by the Dining District at the Bellevue Collection, exclusively on the home of the Seahawks, Seattle Sports on seven tens, and the Seattle Sports Act.
00:09:18
Speaker 3: You are listening to Hawks Live presented Bondy Dining. We got the Bellevy Collection of Michael Bumpus with my guy Paul Moyer. The show is at seven every Thursday right here in Sales Sports seven ten. Hey, this energy feels different. Your team must be pretty good this year. Huh, team must be pretty good this year. The energy feels different, Moyer. They're excited out.
00:09:36
Speaker 4: There, all right, we're talking about the Seahawks.
00:09:38
Speaker 5: Obviously, I saw a Cougar jersey out there and I thought, yea, you can't feel that good.
00:09:42
Speaker 3: We always feel good, Okay, and you know why look good red.
00:09:47
Speaker 6: We do what we do.
00:09:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, you drink yeah a lot.
00:09:50
Speaker 5: No, jeezus, No, it does feel different though, I mean it's this is just a seven and two team.
00:09:54
Speaker 4: This is legit Super Bowl contending team. Who is you know, top ten, top five?
00:10:00
Speaker 5: You know on paper, I would say for sure, on both sides of the ball and you know, one of the very best and special teams. I mean, you got a quarterback who no one saw this coming, even though we probably should have because there was sixteen games last year where he was balling out. And look what he's done over these nine games. There's really been nobody better over the last twenty six twenty seven games past two years in Sam Darmy.
00:10:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's doing a great job. Man, he's in the way he does it. It's just different. Think of like the last three quarterbacks this franchise has had.
00:10:36
Speaker 6: You have Russell Wilson. You know, I'm gonna try.
00:10:39
Speaker 3: To say the right thing all the time, probably gonna rub people the wrong way just because I don't feel genuine.
00:10:46
Speaker 6: You have Gino, who was abrasive.
00:10:48
Speaker 3: He's gonna be in your face, you know, which it all worked to work for Gino, for Russell. And then you have probably the most humble, just laid back guy in the world.
00:10:56
Speaker 6: And every now and then when he.
00:10:58
Speaker 3: Makes the play, I see some fire and oh my, he got that red beard.
00:11:01
Speaker 7: Man.
00:11:01
Speaker 6: I want to see some fire in you.
00:11:03
Speaker 3: And uh, the touchdown to Jason to start the game, that's the first time I really saw it. He looks towards the sideline and he's pumping his fist. I'm like, okay, because every player we talked to they love Sam Darnold and they say he's a competitor. But you know, we're on the outside. We don't get to see that all the time.
00:11:18
Speaker 5: I would love to get him on the show and talk with him, because, look, you're a top three pick in the NFL, You've been good for a long time. Maybe you know you've got the talent. But and somewhere it was last year, maybe it was even when he was at San Francisco. There're somewhere where he said, oh no, I still have this. And then at this point, because now we've got a sample size that's huge, when did he really does he start to feel like, Yeah, I'm one of the elite, top tier, tier one quarterbacks in the NFL and that's that's a that's a that's a good company to be in. And he's going to be making a lot more money than he's making right now.
00:11:58
Speaker 6: Yeah.
00:11:58
Speaker 3: You know, during the halftime show when the Hawks were up what thirty eight nothing or whatnot, I said to Nasa, go man, I wish Moyer was here for this because Moyer makes the claims. Right, He's been around the game longer than I have. You see more teams play, and you always hit us with something. And as of late, it was this might be the most talented defensive line this franchise has had. The other one was, hey, this might be the most talented arm that this franchise has had with Sam Darnold. So I wanted to be around you in that moment because I knew you would have something for me. What did that win do for you in the way you look at this ball club?
00:12:37
Speaker 5: I think it's just every every game right now, just keep stacking what he's shown, right. I no longer have any disbelief, and that probably went away three or four games ago, And partly is the more you watch him and study him. I just can't believe the throws he makes. And so I showed you a stat. If you go look at Donald and Matthew Stafford both having great years. Matthew Stafford has twenty five touchdowns, two interceptions. Everybody goes, oh my god, that's the MVP. I go, is he Because when you go and look at his throws over twenty yards, he's completing twenty or forty eight percent of his passes. When you look at his throws ten yards to twenty yards, is completing fifty eight percent of his passes. Ten yards and under, he's completing eighty percent of his passes, and behind the line of scrimage he's completing eighty seven percent. Fifteen of those touchdowns, by the way, are throws ten yards or less. Sam Donald on twenty yard throws or more is completing seventy four percent of his passes. From ten to twenty yards, He's completing seventy five percent of his passes.
00:13:46
Speaker 4: It's not close.
00:13:47
Speaker 5: I mean, he's averaging almost two yards per attempt more than Stafford is.
00:13:52
Speaker 4: Now, I'm not taking anything away from Stafford.
00:13:54
Speaker 5: He's good. He's a different quarterback. He's more timing. Sam Donald. He throws in the tightest windows that you go oh, and he's gonna It's gonna be a challenge this week because there are linebackers break on the football and cover as well as any linebackers we've seen this year. Their secondary is gonna be tight on coverage. They rely on their their front floor to put pressure very similar to ours. So it's gonna be a Challenge's gonna be a game plan challenge I think.
00:14:21
Speaker 4: You're gonna take. You gotta take some double moves.
00:14:23
Speaker 5: You gotta pump fake them, make them jump something, and work over the top on them. So again, Sam Darna for what he's doing, for not throwing as much as all these other guys if he had more opportunities.
00:14:35
Speaker 4: He's a runaway MVP, and this is.
00:14:37
Speaker 6: Why he's gonna get better.
00:14:39
Speaker 3: He's going to get better because I firmly believe that the run game is gonna get there, and I believe that Rashid Shaheed is gonna do something to this offense. I'm watching him play last week. He had a reverse and you know there's some guys that you just watch run and you're like, Oh, he's a block away from taking that thing to the house. That's why I feel about him. I saw him on a toss. I'm oh, he's a block away from taking that thing to the house. And now, if you do want to go a two safety look in which we talked about before, right to safety look, you have to decide, especially were playing like quarters, right corners have deep, safeties have deep you have to do something to affect that safety.
00:15:14
Speaker 6: On Jason's touchdown, what.
00:15:15
Speaker 3: Happened you have Rashishahid running across the middle of the field, Buddha Baker has to bite down boom and you go over the top. I think roles might be reversed this week to where Jason is the one going across the field because obviously him and darn to have a connection and Rashid is going over the top.
00:15:29
Speaker 6: What does a talent like Rashid do for this offense?
00:15:33
Speaker 4: Well, I think we saw it in the last game because he did see.
00:15:36
Speaker 5: Him on some clearouts and some opportunities for Jason on the cross from the one I was telling you where he made just the most crazy throw and I.
00:15:45
Speaker 4: Kept saying, throw that ball a yard before he crossed. How did he know he was going to get there? And it was amazing.
00:15:51
Speaker 5: And also on that first touchdown, where was he rolling out to He was rolling out again to his left and saw it so quick and flicked. He didn't wait for it. He said, I'm gonna get the ball out now. Let JSN have a chance to get there before the safety comes comes over there and over the top. So I think I think they can do both. So I think you'll see a mix of that. It's going to be a cat and mouse game because the Rams do like to play a shell, but they'll play tight shell. Sometimes I go, well, maybe that's a form of quarters.
00:16:23
Speaker 4: You know. Sometimes it's hard.
00:16:25
Speaker 5: You don't you don't know what they're reading, and if they do it properly, it is a hard thing to look because quarters you're a safety, it looks like a too deep but you're looking at a tight end or an offensive lineman. And if you get a blockdown or a run read, you're downhill because there's nobody for you to cover. And then if they release, then you're playing pass behind that. So so it's hard. So I think it's gonna be a cat and mouse game. The play action is going to be critical. I think again pump fakes trying to work over the top, protecting to give.
00:16:57
Speaker 4: Sam Darno the right amount of time is gonna be big. But I agree.
00:17:00
Speaker 5: I think they have a chance both to have big days. And I think we're gonna have to beat him throwing the football because I think there's gonna be tough to run it.
00:17:07
Speaker 3: You know who else had a good day and he's been catching a lot of flak from people is Reek Woolan.
00:17:13
Speaker 6: I think that's two games in a row.
00:17:15
Speaker 3: Now you can look at that commander's game and people might trip because he had that flag, which I thought was premature, like allow a human to be a human and react to making a play. But rec Woollan has I wouldn't say re established himself as the guy, but he's making a case for this DC not to forget about him. I think re Wollan's look pretty good too.
00:17:35
Speaker 5: He's a very good cover guy that we know. And when he's focused, and I again, I don't know if what they told him this is your focus. Look, he's trying in the run game, he's trying to tackle.
00:17:46
Speaker 4: But sometimes you know, look, you are what you are.
00:17:48
Speaker 5: You know you guys all remember Sean Alexander, great running back.
00:17:52
Speaker 4: Sean used to run out of bounce. After a while, I just said, stop beating.
00:17:56
Speaker 5: Him up for who he's not. Let's just which admire what he is. He's a great running back who can take at the distance. We got one of the most the greatest running games in history during that time. Riek one is a fantastic cover guy. He is so long, he's so fast, he can make play. He's starting to get into his groove too and be able to get a lot of passes defense.
00:18:19
Speaker 4: We got enough dogs on this team. I don't need eleven of them.
00:18:23
Speaker 5: I need nine or ten, and we got nine or ten, and it's actually fourteen or fifteen with the rotation.
00:18:29
Speaker 4: And Reek is special at what he does.
00:18:31
Speaker 5: And I'm gonna start celebrating that part because we need him to cover.
00:18:34
Speaker 6: I like that.
00:18:35
Speaker 3: You got kids, right, I got kids, you know, my little Michael and Kobe.
00:18:40
Speaker 6: Kobe ain't Jada.
00:18:41
Speaker 3: I almost gonna love him up for who they are and now what I mean, and help him out along the way. That's all I'm saying. All Right, Let's let's treat Greek like our middle child. Okay, be nice to him. He's dealing with some stuff, all right. Coming up next with giving an opponent preview. That's next right here on Hawk's Line.
00:18:58
Speaker 2: Betta.
00:18:59
Speaker 1: More of Live presented by the Dining District at a Bellevue Collection, Broadcasting live from Bellevue Square Center Court.

00:19:29
Speaker 3: You know we got we're giving away some stuff, so hang around because we're getting away some gift cars, some tickets. Don't be like my homie Pat, My homie Pat, who's here every Thursday, and he left early?
00:19:41
Speaker 4: Did he?
00:19:42
Speaker 6: He won tickets and he left early.
00:19:45
Speaker 3: Thankfully he's a season ticket holder, so it didn't really hit him the way it would hit somebody else.
00:19:50
Speaker 6: But he left early.
00:19:52
Speaker 4: You know, we only got three more of these.
00:19:54
Speaker 5: At three more and it's holiday time, right, I already matter.
00:19:57
Speaker 3: Of fact, pass not giving away h his tickets now right, you would have given away the free tickets, but not not seating tickets.
00:20:04
Speaker 6: You got to hold on to those, all right.
00:20:07
Speaker 5: I'm just I'm just trying to pump people to come to the Bellvy Collection because a holiday.
00:20:12
Speaker 3: Time we're giving away stuff too, right.
00:20:13
Speaker 5: I mean Christmas lights are starting to come up with Thanksgiving and boom, who.
00:20:17
Speaker 3: Got anyone here have their tree up already?
00:20:20
Speaker 1: No?
00:20:20
Speaker 3: Uh, okay, we got a couple kitchen out my son.
00:20:23
Speaker 4: Just put the tree.
00:20:24
Speaker 5: We do the tree and lights the day after Thanksgiving its tradition.
00:20:29
Speaker 3: I'm okay with any time in November, honestly, Yeah, yeah, just put it up.
00:20:32
Speaker 6: Who cares? All right, let's get to this.
00:20:34
Speaker 3: Opponent preview, big one. All right, here are these guys on paper. It's crazy how close they are. Total offense, the Hawks are ringing ninth. The Rams are fifth. Rush offense, the Hawks are seventeenth, the Rams eighteenth. Pass offense, the Rams are six. Excuse me, Hawks are six. The Rams are second. Points per game, Hawks thirty point six. That's third, twenty seven point nine for the Rams. That is fifth. Defensively, total defense the Hawks ninth, the Rams eleventh. Rush defense the Hawks third, the Rams ninth, only six yards behind them. Pass defense, the Hawks nineteenth, the Rams eighteenth. In points allowed, the Hawks are fifth and the Rams are second. It's is as close as it gets more.
00:21:18
Speaker 4: Well, it's close. At quarterback.
00:21:22
Speaker 5: There are look, there's there are more than likely no bad coaches in the NFL. It's hard to get there. It's very competitive. You gotta be very smart, work hard. You got there's a there's Tansballs are hard to lay out but there's also what I call elite. They're just a notch above. McVeagh is one of them. McVeigh is one of those coaches. He's just he's just one of those guys who just understands the game. He's not just an offensive coach, He's a football coach. He knows everything about the game. I think Shanahan of forty nine ers is a great off defensive coach. I don't know if he's in mcveigh's level. And then I think McDonald. I think McDonald's one of those top tier ones we have, but you know, Shanahan, if he's not, he's probably in there.
00:22:12
Speaker 4: But I think he's just a fraction below.
00:22:15
Speaker 5: Man, those are three great coaches and they're all in the NFC West.
00:22:18
Speaker 4: So the reason why I'm bringing that.
00:22:19
Speaker 5: Up, well, you know, been watching you know, Houston and watching Arizona the last few weeks in our games. Man, there's just something about the detail that the Rams do that's very similar to what the Seahawks do. This is a it's just an evenly matched game. They're both well coached, they both have good defensive lines. They have good offensive lines. You know, maybe not dominant at times, you're gonna see an old school offensive line nig a little bit more, man. I mean, they'll double team, but they're right to that next level, and you know they expect their guys to hold up one on one. We'll see if they're capable of doing that against Murphy and Leonard Williams and some of our edge rushers. I think that's gonna be a great match. I think receivers saying similar, You know you don't. You don't think of JSN as a speed burner, right, I don't look at the I don't look at the Rams as speed burners.
00:23:12
Speaker 4: There.
00:23:13
Speaker 5: They're route runners, They're good receivers, very similar to ours. Both want to run the game. I will say this about the Rams. The Rams running game is what I'm most afraid of. They do some things. We're gonna have to be on point. Someone's gonna have to win at times. But that's going to be a challenge too. But they're gonna put some scheme on us that is going to challenge us.
00:23:34
Speaker 4: And so excited to see how we do that, because if we can shut.
00:23:37
Speaker 5: Their running game down, force them to throw, I think we match up really well with them.
00:23:43
Speaker 3: Well, speaking of their run game, you got Kyrin Williams. He's had back to back one thousand yard seasons for the Rams. He was a Pro Bowler in twenty twenty three. He's eleventh in the league this year. When it comes to rushing yards, he has the second most scrimmage touchdown since twenty twenty three, with thirty nine this year one hundred and forty six six fifty nine five touchdowns, twenty two receptions for one seventy seven and three touchdowns coming off a game last week where he did go over one hundred yards. So no, and I think, and I'm with you. The reason why I'm with you when it comes to the run game is that the linemen get to where they're supposed to be. They're gonna put a body on the body they're supposed to block or is it gonna be perfect? Is it gonna be a perfect fit. No, But half the battle is getting to where you're supposed to be and you're running back making you right. This is the best offensive line they've seen so far this year.
00:24:33
Speaker 5: Yep, and McVeigh is one of the very best. I would say he's the best I've seen at finding the matchup he wants. He's gonna try to find the weakness in the defense and exploit that from a personnel standpoint. With their motion, you know, they're they're gonna want to put the one player against our one player. They think that they can win on And so that's gonna be the challenge for McDonald because McDonald's does a lot of stuff, and he does the blitzes at the time you don't expect it. He did a couple of those blitzer early on in the game last week on mixed down, not on third down. Usually see blitz is more on third down situations. And McVeigh is gonna see our strengths and weaknesses. And that's why I say, I think this is two of the best minds defensively and offensively going at each other. Man, it's it's gonna be fun, and the difference is and it's evenly matched. Last week again I said, we have we have guys who attack man, we attack the running game.
00:25:28
Speaker 4: They don't wait for it.
00:25:29
Speaker 5: But they had a couple of times if they had executed it, a couple of them could have been out the gate. But we made Drake Thomas made a couple of unbelievable plays. He just shot the gap and said I'm going for it, and that's what it takes.
00:25:40
Speaker 4: Sometime.
00:25:41
Speaker 5: Mcveigh's gonna see that, and I think they'll probably execute it a little better.
00:25:45
Speaker 4: They're gonna pop one or two.
00:25:46
Speaker 5: We're gonna have to tackle really well in the secondary and say, hey, he popped one. It's gonna be a nine or ten yard run. It can't be a sixty or seventy or play defensively. Again, I'm not trying to scare you. I'm saying this is the this is the matchup we're looking for. Not gonna beat this team by thirty some points, probably not gonna be up twenty one to nothing at the end of the first quarter. Their secondary and their linebackers are probably the best I've seen it. They jump all over the short stuff and they've got some quickness to do it. They're smaller, so I think we can work over the top of them. But now we got to protect, you know, we got to be able to do that. I don't think they're dominant pass rush, but they're like ours. Everything's being collapsed, very fundamentally sound. It's just gonna be I can't It's gonna be a great game. And what I'm telling you the Rams are really good and so are we.
00:26:34
Speaker 6: Yeah.
00:26:34
Speaker 3: I think that's the most important part, is that, yes, we're gonna praise the Rams because we were taught to praise the opponent.
00:26:42
Speaker 6: Respect them.
00:26:42
Speaker 3: I respect to the Arizona Cardinals, probably way too much, but that's just the way cold salts are at Culver City High School drained it into my head. You respect them, but no, whatever they can do, the Hawks can do for sure. When you look at just the defensive numbers when it comes to the amount of pressure they bring seventeen percent on both sides. Talk about quarterback hits, separation by like five, sacks, separation by like three or four. The numbers are so crazy close. Yeah, it's weird. So I told Stacy during the week and we're trying to decideher what's going to happen. We're looking at the numbers, and I said, forget the numbers. It's all up to the humans now, Like which human is going to make a mistake that's going to cost in the game or flip the momentum of the game. And I think those are the best games to watch and cover for us, because we were bored the second half of the last game.
00:27:29
Speaker 5: Yeah, well, we've been incredible on the road and we got to keep that up. The only thing I wish is we have the throwback jerseys with against the Rams blue. That would be that would be a nice little at least for the TV to look at.
00:27:42
Speaker 3: Yeah for sure. All right, well we come back. You know, we're gonna try d Anthony Bell one more time. You know, maybe he was playing video games or something and he missed us, so we'll give him the benefit of the dell. That's coming up next right here on Hawk's.
00:27:52
Speaker 1: Live broadcasting live from Bellevue Square Center Court.
00:27:58
Speaker 2: You were listening to presented by the Dining District.
00:28:02
Speaker 1: That's the Bellevue Collection, exclusively on the home of the Seahawks, Seattle Sports One and the Seattle Sports AFT.
00:28:11
Speaker 3: This is Hawks Live presented by the Dining District at the Bellevue Collection. Let's go on. Michael Pumpus with my guy Paul Moyer. Brena Rogers is killing it and right now we are joined by our guy, the Anthony Bell.
00:28:26
Speaker 6: D Anthony, how we doing.
00:28:27
Speaker 7: I'm doing good? How you doing?
00:28:29
Speaker 6: We're good man, Thanks for joining us.
00:28:31
Speaker 3: You know, Paul and I I tell this story to everyone who will listen, and we are undrafted guys. Man snuck through the back door in this league but had none. Your story is just remarkable. Man. Tell the people a little bit about how you got here in Seattle.
00:28:49
Speaker 7: Uh yeah, So I started off as an undrafted free agent to the Cleveland Browns and I was there for the past three years. You know, I was on the act of there three years and then here in Seattle, and you know, it's just been a blessing. You know, hard work. I think I made my name on special teams starting out. So just being able to take the importance of special teams and make my make my name known and get a roll on the team, it's been a blessing.
00:29:17
Speaker 4: I went to a junior college.
00:29:18
Speaker 5: You went to two of them, and then to finally too, I believe West Florida Division two school. I end up going to Arizona State, so I you know, there's more opportunities to be seen. Obviously, How did how do the scouts go to the Division two schools? I mean, did you know you were going to get the opportunity to make it with a team.
00:29:39
Speaker 7: I wouldn't say that I knew I was gonna make know I had it was going to have the opportunities. But I think I had my junior season at West Florida, and then after that I started getting a lot of attention from the NFL. And then at that time, West Florida had had one Pro Day before that, and it hadn't it hadn't had that many scouts there. And then my senior year, I end up having a great year at West Florida, and you know, I got a couple of bowld Bowl gaming invites and stuff, and I end up having almost what twenty five or to thirty teams come out and watch me at West Florida. So it was just a blessing, you know. I was thankful that I could do that for the other guys was on my team that had those aspirations to go to the NFL as well. So it was a blessing.
00:30:22
Speaker 3: Well, thankfully, de Anthony. You're still in the mix, so you don't have time to sit back and kind of like admire your work. Old guys like me and Paul will sit back and tell you how great we were.
00:30:31
Speaker 6: This is what I used to do.
00:30:32
Speaker 3: But if you can do that for a second, what do you think is the best part of your game?
00:30:38
Speaker 7: I would say the best part of my game is probably the physicality that I bring to the game. You know, I used to watch a lot of old school football, you know, like Bob Sanders back in the day, played safety, you know, the Troy Polo models and you know, the players of that caliber. So just seeing how physical the game was back in the day and also trying to implicate it in today's game without you know, getting the penalty or getting anybody injured of course, you know, trying to have that same physicality and being that same type of physical player. I think that's why I stand out the most.
00:31:09
Speaker 4: How'd you end up coming to Seattle?
00:31:11
Speaker 5: Then it was Seattle one of the teams that worked you out, or it's down there for your pro days, or just again just that whole when you finally made it over here to Seattle.
00:31:20
Speaker 4: How'd that come about?
00:31:22
Speaker 7: Yeah? Well, Jeff Howard was my first safety coach with the Cleveland Browns and also was my safety coach at the East West Shrine Bowl Game where I was, so me and him had already had a connection. So when I found out he was here, and then we had been having conversations and talking and stuff, it just seemed like a perfect fit, and you know, it felt like home. You know, I loved all the coaches and what they stood for, and I looked the team and everything that they were trying to build here, So I was super excited to get here.
00:31:51
Speaker 3: Hey, de Anthony, When I played, I used to love when my coaches set me up for success. They say, like I was a slot receiver, So say a third and three inside the twenty, this is the look we're gonna get, and you line up and you.
00:32:05
Speaker 6: Get exactly that.
00:32:06
Speaker 3: It felt like you guys were so prepared for what happened last week with the Arizona Cardinals.
00:32:11
Speaker 6: What was the preparation like for that?
00:32:13
Speaker 3: And did this defense feel like, you know, you were getting most of the looks that you thought you.
00:32:17
Speaker 6: Were gonna get.
00:32:19
Speaker 7: Yeah, I would say, I would say the coaches do a great job of giving us the looks that we're going to get each and every week that we played. So the preparation that has been the same. You know, we stand on being on the same team weekend and week out, So having that same preparation weekend and week out, we felt, you know, it could be a little different. Of course, having Jacoby Brissett, that was at quarterback instead of Kyler Murray. You know, Kyler Murray is a more mobile guy. So having a different type of game plan than from what we when we played them the first time. I think we did very well. I think the coaches did a great job of implicating that in practice and giving us great looks, and I felt like we saw a lot of the things that we that we practiced, so that helped us out a lot.
00:32:58
Speaker 5: Earlier this year, you had a big play, big block punt against the Saints.
00:33:03
Speaker 4: You ever blocked the pump before that?
00:33:05
Speaker 7: No, that was my first block punt in the NFL.
00:33:08
Speaker 5: What was that? I mean, your eyes getting big? I mean, look, I know they teach you take the ball, you know, off the foot and stuff, but just tell us about that. I mean, did it seem faster or slower when you knew you were about.
00:33:20
Speaker 4: To block it?
00:33:21
Speaker 7: Uh? To be honest, it felt a lot slower, you know. I honestly didn't think that they would give us the same look because that was also the exact same look that we got in practice, and Coach j had told us he was like, Hey, if we get this look the best, I want you to come off this right edge and you should be free, and I'm like, you know, sometimes they say you should be free and then a guy just come out and block you out of nowhere. So I'm like, man, I got to look. I'm like, okay, I see the guy right here. He come out and block me. But then once I came off the edge and nobody touched me, I'm like, oh, this is the exact same look. So just keep my eyes down and like you said, taking taking the ball off the foot and it worked out perfectly.
00:33:57
Speaker 3: That's a heck of a feeling right there. Oh yes, sir, you get your number. Call You're like, oh, yeah, it's about to go down. It's about to go down.
00:34:03
Speaker 4: Right man.
00:34:04
Speaker 6: How confident is this defense?
00:34:07
Speaker 3: I was talking to someone earlier during the Bumping Station show we do it from ten to two, and they were saying that maybe people are just catching on to what's going on up here because of just the personality. Right back in the day, you had some big personalities at Bobby, at Sherman, all that stuff. But I told him, I pushed back. I said, no, this defense got a lot of personality. You got Leo out there, you got Kobe, who's fiery out there. How confident is this defense right now?
00:34:34
Speaker 7: Oh? Shoot, very confident. You know, we think we the tip of the spirit. So we feel like if we can lead lead the team, then will also be a great team. Because we've got an offense that's playing great. So if we able to go out there and play great in our offense is putting up points, that that's the way to win games, you know what I'm saying. So we were very confident. You know, we think that we prepare well the offense, give great looks and also we give great looks to the offense as well. So just going week in and week out and competing, you know, like when we're giving the offensive guys looks on the defenside of the ball, we're competing for the ball. We're making those guys actually earning it out there. So if they're earning it in practice, is they're used to doing it during the game time, it will as well.
00:35:13
Speaker 4: Well let's talk a.
00:35:13
Speaker 5: Little rams here, because they're as hot as the Seahawks both sides of the ball. I mean, we were just throwing out the numbers defensively. Offensively, I mean they almost mirror each other. You look, you guys have whooped up on the last couple of teams big leads.
00:35:28
Speaker 4: This is going to be a challenge.
00:35:30
Speaker 5: What do they Just give us an overview of what you're seeing with the Rams and what coach McDonald's emphasizing going into this game.
00:35:38
Speaker 7: Oh, the Rams they do a lot of things. Well, you know, they do the previous put teams that we played. They also have somewhat the same scheme, so you know, but they're head coach of the Rams is the master mind behind where this scheme came from, so they know how to do it.
00:35:53
Speaker 8: Well.
00:35:53
Speaker 7: You know, they got a great quarterback, they got a great run game, they got some good running backs, and on the defense side of the ball, they've been doing some great things as far as punching the ball out and finding ways to get the ball. So us just you know, coming in throughout this week and just trying to prepare as a team to be able to stay steady throughout the whole game. You know, just keep tipping at it cheap, tipping at a tipping that, tipping at it and trying to find out way to win, you know, trying to execute and do the best we can and try best not to give them an advantage by making mistakes on either side of the ball, so it's kind of like the emphasis is just keep chipping at them and making sure that we don't make mistakes and we try to play a complete game.
00:36:30
Speaker 3: Hey, So you know, when you know you're in the league and then you play against guys like Devonte Adams and Matthew Stafford, guys who've been around for a very long time, it could be surreal for you. But obviously you guys are playing against these dudes, so it's like, yeah, he's a.
00:36:47
Speaker 6: Guy, but he gonna get it as well.
00:36:49
Speaker 3: But remember my moment was we were playing the forty nine ers and it was a returner Rossam who I used to watch used to play Madden, and I'm watching them and I'm like, he's a dB and I'm thinking, man, and that's rawsome but then it clicks like, yeah, but he gonna get it. You know, how do you how has that happened to you?
00:37:05
Speaker 7: Have you?
00:37:06
Speaker 3: Have you like been in a moment where you're like, man, I'm playing against this guy, but yeah, now it's now it's time to go get after him.
00:37:12
Speaker 7: Oh But I think I think my moments came more so after after the game was over. You know, I kind of like going to the game with a faceless, nameless opponent opponent, so I don't really think too much about the name or the face of the person during the game, but after the game, I definitely don't have a time Like when I was in Cleveland. After the game, I'm like, dang, man, I just played Tom Brady, like, you know, just having those big names and those big guys out there, or playing next to big name guys like when I was in Cleveland playing House Garrett, future Hall of Famer, so you know, you kind of look at it after the game. For me, it was more so like off the field, when everything was said and done or the game was set and done, where I look back and be like, dang, I was playing against this person or playing with this person next to me, and it's it's definitely surreal when when you look back on it.
00:37:58
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fun too when you when you beat him.
00:38:00
Speaker 7: Uh yeah.
00:38:03
Speaker 5: Hopefully you look across the way and at Stafford and and and come away from the win and you know what, you know, this one.
00:38:09
Speaker 4: Is probably coming down to special teams.
00:38:10
Speaker 5: You guys have been phenomenals here, so I'm hoping we hear another fulfump block pump from you this week, but they dance. What do you like to do during your time? I mean, were you actually away from football?
00:38:24
Speaker 7: Use them into cars? So I'm into car stuff, So I do a lot of stuff for my cars, and I like working on cars. I'm trying to I'm thinking about trying to get an old school right now and fixing it up and doing some things with that. But that's that's usually like the majority of my time. It's either cars or fashion, and that's that's usually what I'm into majority of the time.
00:38:42
Speaker 5: Me too, man, I'm a fashion guy. By the way, I'm your safety. I played in the East West Shrine game. I'm gonna flex on you though. I was the m v P of that game. Uh I was, Yeah, John, I'm gonna date myself. John Elwen and myself were the m v ps of that one. But okay, yeah here' I'm gonna here. I'm gonn really date you. What what got me weird was when I saw Terry Bradshaw across the way. That's why he was old too, But yeah, that was my whoa, this is weird.
00:39:12
Speaker 4: This is surreal.
00:39:13
Speaker 3: Hey, d' anthony, man, we appreciate your time and you go out and have yourself a good game on Sunday.
00:39:19
Speaker 7: Man, yes, sir, thank you so much.
00:39:21
Speaker 3: All right, man, take care all right, the Anthony Bille make good conversations.
00:39:24
Speaker 5: All look the free agent safeties man, you know, got an affinity there.
00:39:29
Speaker 6: Now there you go. All right, MVP, all right, we'll be come back.
00:39:32
Speaker 3: We'll I'll speak to Seahawks rookie garb Bryce Cable dude.
00:39:35
Speaker 6: That is next here a Hawks lot.
00:39:38
Speaker 1: This is Hawks Live presented by the Dining District, Death of Bellevue Collection, Drove Down, Veil, Touchdown Hawks Podcasting live from Bellevue Square Center Court.
00:39:51
Speaker 2: Here's your host, Michael Buffers.
00:39:55
Speaker 3: This is Hawks Live presented by the Dynagistic I'm Michael Office with Paul Moyer. Now we have a talented individual from Clovis, New Mexico. Attended Clovis High School, where he led the Wildcats to district championships in twenty nineteen. Earned first team All State honors on offense, second team All State on defense. As a senior, multi sport guy played basketball as well as baseball. Took his talents in Kansas for college to played for the Jay Howks. He made an immediate impact, becoming a four year starter, starting forty five games over four seasons.
00:40:28
Speaker 6: He was named All Big Twelve Honorable Mention.
00:40:30
Speaker 3: Drafted in the sixth round to your Seattle Seahawks, Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for guard up, Bryce Cable.
00:40:37
Speaker 6: Dude.
00:40:40
Speaker 3: We appreciate you coming out here, Bryce, And what I appreciate the most.
00:40:44
Speaker 6: About you is that you ain't changed.
00:40:45
Speaker 5: Man.
00:40:46
Speaker 3: You got cowboy boots on. You know what I'm saying that your cat had in a hoodie. Man, I appreciate that. You're giving me real New Mexico vibes right now.
00:40:54
Speaker 9: Gotta remember where you came from.
00:40:56
Speaker 3: So one, let me just ask you know, because we're talking about getting a pointed. We're both from like the southwest part of the United States. You go up to the Midwest and play for the Jayhawks. How do you like the Northwest?
00:41:08
Speaker 7: So far?
00:41:09
Speaker 9: It's been great and the temperature is amazing. Now you're in New Mexico fall camp extremely hot, Kansas fall camp extremely hot here. I think we had maybe two days where it was above ninety. The temperature was amazing. It's getting a little raining now, but you know, I'm getting used to it. I like the coolness. Yep, So it's been good and good stough.
00:41:30
Speaker 4: I don't want to tell you, but it's been. It was a warm summer.
00:41:34
Speaker 9: Oh really, I don't mind it at all. I prefer the cold.
00:41:39
Speaker 5: You know, you you seem like you still got a lot of anargy. I was mentioning to you earlier. I said, wow, you guys are seven to two nine games. You play three preseason games as twelve, you have a bye week worth you're basically thirteen weeks into you know when you first started playing games. That's how many games you play really in college football, right, And yeah, I'm just asking how are you physically? I think they do a great job taking care of the players now, but how are you mentally going through already what would be equivalent of a college season?
00:42:08
Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, I mean, like you said, a lot of rookies they go and they hit a big wall in their first rookie season just because they haven't played a season this long. You know, our coaches that they do a really good job of knowing how our bodies are feeling, easing off of us or rapping things up. Our vets are really amazing. You know. They teach us how to take care of your body. You know, they want us to come in and get rehab or prehab. You know, go and make sure you get in the cold tubs, make sure you're rolling out in our strength staff also does an amazing job just making sure that our bodies are in the right spot. And then go over to the mental side. I think it's just something you prepare for, you know, the entire time of going through college, right. I think there I saw something probably a year or two ago, is he is the guy on Instagram and he was saying, you know, if you have two guys and they're both going to the exact same destination, right, and one guy he loves the walk. You know, it's a really far walk to get to the destination. One guy loves the walk, and the other guy loves the idea of the destination. Who's going to get there first? Who's going to be to get there more successfully? It's the guy who loves walking, right, rather than the guy who loves the destination. The guy who loves walking, that's the guy that's going to go in and you know he he loves going through the process every single day, waking up early, getting in the cold tub, studying your film, doing all the little mundane things that you'd have to do every single day. Whereas if you're the guy that you know in our in art instance, winning the super Bowl, if that's the only thing you're thinking about, you know, you're just thinking about the super Bowl. You're not thinking about the little small details that you have to do every single day to get up and you know, get your body ready, be mentally prepared for practice and then for the game.
00:43:51
Speaker 4: How old are you coming out? Was that guy? Hold? Old?
00:43:55
Speaker 9: Are you twenty four?
00:43:57
Speaker 2: That was like.
00:44:00
Speaker 3: Forty two right there? That's good stuff, man, It's speaking of the process. You know, this offensive line was a question mark coming into the season, just because of last year, the way the games were called or whatnot. And it seems like you guys have figured something out. The cohesiveness of this line is fun to watch.
00:44:16
Speaker 7: Man.
00:44:16
Speaker 3: What's it like in that room and when you guys are really preparing for, say a game like this week against the Rims.
00:44:22
Speaker 9: Yeah, no, I mean, first, you know, obviously it always starts with the players. And the first day I got into the offensive line room, all of the vets, all the older guys, even the guys who've only been there just for one year. You know, they go and they they're loving up on you. They go and you know, if you have any anything wrong with your technique or any problems with the players, and they're more than willing to go and help you. And then going on to the coaching staff, you know, we have three or four three and a half I guess you say offensive line coaches are that are in our room every once in a while, two for sure. And then you know we have our assistant and all every single one of the guys. They are absolutely amazing. They're amazing with of how they're teaching you all the details on our techniques and you know, and at the end of the day they make their offensive loom offensive line room fun. You know, we're always laughing, laughing around. It's not just always business, you know. I think to be a professional you have to be able to go and get business done when you needed, when the business needs to get done, and you also have times where you could go and mess around.
00:45:21
Speaker 7: Right.
00:45:21
Speaker 5: You know, it is remarkable because for the most I don't know, the most part is the same offensive line. I mean, you see Bradford, you know Sundell obviously in Zabel are the two new ones, but just the cohesionss of it is there's something from a coaching standpoint that's pretty special. Do you from where you were in Kansas to where you are here, is there a difference in coaching?
00:45:46
Speaker 9: Yeah, I would say there's there's a difference in coaching. I mean, obviously, you know, you go from a college playbook to an NFL playbook, it's nine day difference. You know, in college you have wide zone with a tied end to the right, and the wide zone without a tight end to the right. And then you know in college you have wide zone one hundred different ways to the right with a tight end, one hundred different ways without a tight end, and so you know, it gets a little bit more complex. And I think something that our coaches do a really well job is they make a lot of our plays offensive line friendly. And what I mean is, you know we're not we're not dropping back fifty times a game. You know, if you get that and you're dropping back fifty times a game, then the defensive line they start picking up on that. And if you have one on ones with a with a defensive lineman who typically they're way more athletic than me, and that you know, they're just they're freaks of nature, every single one of them, and he and you don't have them guessing to where you know they're they're just in full pass rush mode. That's when everythings get a little bit dicey. You know the offense, you know, our office of coordinator, offensive line coach, they're you know, they're really good with mixing up with the play actions, the drop backs, just kind of switching things up to where you're you're really making them think to where they slow down a little bit. And if you know and you know, if you know the playbook, then you're able to play fast.
00:47:04
Speaker 3: It's well described, right you talk about mixing it up. I mean you mixed it up. You were a tackle in uh in college, then you switched over to the guard. Did you know that was gonna be your journey? And what has that transition been like for you?
00:47:17
Speaker 4: Yeah?
00:47:17
Speaker 9: I did know that that was gonna happen. They've been telling me that since I was a sophomore in college. You know, you know, you could go and you could play tackle here in the Big twelve, but whenever you go into the big leagues, you're gonna have to go and learn how to play guard. And uh, it's it's been smooth as had as hard times obviously, Uh, but it's been smooth.
00:47:34
Speaker 10: You know.
00:47:35
Speaker 9: Like I said, our coaching stuff is really amazing, and they give me a lot of stuff to work with or our vets in the room. They're really good at helping me out with, you know, anything that I have wrong. You know, every day after practice, most days after practice, you know, we're getting extra offensive line work in, you know, doing past sets, doing some kind of snapping or anything like that, and so you know, it's it's really just whatever effort you put in is what you're going to get back.
00:48:01
Speaker 4: It is a really young offensive line.
00:48:03
Speaker 5: You talked about it being a veteran group, and I'm like, Charles Cross is the veteran I guess or the main guy. I mean, pretty pretty remarkable. So with it You've mentioned they keep it fun. It's it's a fun group. So I'm gonna give three personalities. Tell me who they are. Who's the most serious of the offensive lineman?
00:48:23
Speaker 3: The most serious?
00:48:25
Speaker 9: I feel like that is most serious, but it probably has to be Jennow.
00:48:29
Speaker 3: Really.
00:48:31
Speaker 5: I was gonna say yeah, because an interview she doesn't you know, he's very you know he bows his neck down and.
00:48:37
Speaker 4: You know you didn't. Yeah, don't you all right?
00:48:41
Speaker 5: Who's the guy that everybody goes, come on, man, we gotta get through this meeting.
00:48:46
Speaker 4: You know, he's always he's always the jokes.
00:48:48
Speaker 6: I was too afraid of you that does it have to be?
00:48:53
Speaker 9: Does it have to be? Vets Mason Richmond? Probably? Yeah, he's always talking. He won't stop talking about.
00:49:00
Speaker 4: Who's the Who's the guy that you can go to for anything? You know?
00:49:07
Speaker 3: Really?
00:49:07
Speaker 9: Uh, this year the guy that you know, really, all the guys have been really, really amazing, But the person who's really taught me the most, stayed with me after practice a lot, just coaching me up during practice is Olu.
00:49:20
Speaker 3: Okay, okay, yeah that's good stuff.
00:49:23
Speaker 5: Well I was gonna that's a good question to ask more. But you know, well I just offensive Lineman through. For whatever reason, they're always the closest knit guys, you know what I mean.
00:49:33
Speaker 4: I don't know why. I don't know if it's the personality.
00:49:35
Speaker 5: I had a coach tell me one time he goes look he goes defensive. Guys, I tell a team, I want you to go run through that wall. The defensive guys are gonna do it. The offensive offensive lineman say, well, coach, can we.
00:49:48
Speaker 4: Go over the wall or can we go around the wall? They ask question. It's just something about their personality. But but how tight are you guys? But you guys, are you always hanging out?
00:49:56
Speaker 9: Yeah? We hang out quite a bit. You know, every every Thursday, every home Thursday game. You know, we're going out to dinner. Tuesdays we like to hang out or it must our Mondays, we like to hang out every day. Uh, let's see here. Usually we're usually we're in the meeting room fifteen minutes early, just hanging out, talking and stuff like that. You know, like it's just it's easy to be around everybody. There's not there's not a guy where it's like, ah, we have to be around him today, you know, every every everybody in that room, it's you know, how are you?
00:50:30
Speaker 7: You know?
00:50:31
Speaker 9: And uh, he's you know, you're just trying to learn more and more about each other. And I think that's really what makes a good offensive line room. It's where you know, it's how do I say this if it's just you and I talking right here, Like we just met a couple of seconds ago, right, a couple of minutes ago, like a good exactly exactly. We don't, uh, we don't know everything about each other, right. Something I think we do a lot of the good job of is actually getting to know each other, not just you know, what's your name and ya YadA, but like really getting down into like, you know, what's your like, what's your family situation? You know, like how many brothers do you have, what's your mom's name, what's your dad's name, how'd you grow up? And so you go and you you start to understand them as a person. You don't you know, you're not just walking in their shoes. You're walking You're seeing how it feels to walk in their own bones, you know. And I think that's what really creates a good offensive line run, where you know, you're just very connected in that way.
00:51:28
Speaker 3: You know, as you just experienced the good Paul Moyer interview takeover. It happens once a year when he really connects with somebody. So I sit back and and I just watched the show over here, Bryce man, we appreciate you taking time, and you have a good night.
00:51:42
Speaker 9: I appreciate thank you, guys.
00:51:44
Speaker 3: All right, more to do when we come back here on Hawks Live.
00:51:51
Speaker 1: Back to more of Hawks Live presented by the Dining District at the Bellevue Collection, broadcasting live from Bellevue Square Center Court.
00:51:59
Speaker 2: Here's your host, Michael Bumpis along with Paul Moyer.
00:52:04
Speaker 3: This is Hawk's Live presented by the Dining District at the Bellvy Collection every Thursday right here on Sattle Sports seven to ten at seven o'clock. Is time now to go into the film room. And this is a throw that Moyer has been talking about for a while. A couple throws right this one you showed me before this, but this is a big one as well. Let's get into the sound before we get your expert analysis. Sam Donald finds Jackson Smith in JIGBA for forty three are touchdown.
00:52:33
Speaker 10: At the Arizona forty three opening drive by the Seahawks.
00:52:37
Speaker 4: Playfake and Donald's gonna roll.
00:52:38
Speaker 10: Left pastime, gonna let it fly, got a man.
00:52:41
Speaker 8: Deep reaching up touchdown, say Hawks, and guess who? Jackson fifth and Jacob with the touchdown reception tightly covered but dropping that baby in the bucket.
00:52:56
Speaker 3: Sam Donald from forty three out walks up, man, this was the first drive of the game, and I go into every week thinking there's no way Jaysn is gonna do it again, Right, They're going to do something to take it away. But with the influence you have in the run game and the way Sam Donald just tosses it up into a certain spot, something tells me this is gonna keep happening this year.
00:53:18
Speaker 6: What'd you see more?
00:53:20
Speaker 5: Look, I think one thing Sam Donald can throw to his left. I was telling Bump earlier that there's a throw on a crossing route to JSN that he's rolling to his left and he throws the ball before Jaysn clears the defensive guy and throws in a window of about three feet perfect.
00:53:39
Speaker 4: And he throws it.
00:53:40
Speaker 5: He has to throw it when he did, because if he waits any longer, there's another defender towards the sideline who would have either taken js N's head off.
00:53:52
Speaker 4: On this one.
00:53:53
Speaker 5: Again, he's rolling out to us a play action, you know, he takes the handoff to the offenses right, it rolls out to his left. That's always the toughest thing because you've got to try and square your shoulders up. There's not again, there's maybe ten quarterbacks in the league who can actually do that well, it's hard to do.
00:54:09
Speaker 4: There's been a lot of quarterbacks in the league.
00:54:10
Speaker 5: They are forced to run to their left and they get out of the league because they can't make that throw.
00:54:15
Speaker 4: And I think what I'd love with JSN and.
00:54:18
Speaker 5: You can talk about the route, I'm gonna talk about Sam Darnald on it. And first of all, great protection by the offensive line. Once again, we had Bryce cable Doo talk about one of the things that are offensive cording and offensive line coach to do so well is they keep defenses off balance. In other words, they're not just constantly in a pass drop situation like we were last year. You know, it's play action, it's pin pools. There are some dropbacks, but they really mix it up. But what Sam Donald does, it's not that he needs to throw this thing sixty seventy yards downfield.
00:54:50
Speaker 4: It's that he throws it quickly.
00:54:52
Speaker 5: He throws it quick to give JSN an opportunity to win the one on one matchup with the corner and the ball.
00:54:57
Speaker 4: A rise before the safety can get there.
00:55:00
Speaker 5: Otherwise, if he throws it later, the safety has a chance to come over the top and make that play.
00:55:04
Speaker 4: So again, this duo right now, I don't know what. We probably need a.
00:55:09
Speaker 5: Nickname for them because it's about to be historical. They're on a historical pace and to continually do it. I keep thinking, this week's not the week, right, that Arizona's played us twice.
00:55:21
Speaker 4: Now they're gonna know how to stop us. No one seems to know how to stop it.
00:55:24
Speaker 6: No, And I'll speak on JSN.
00:55:27
Speaker 3: It's the little things in the route running that helps your quarterback out and helps you create more space. And what Jason does is he has a vertical release from a tight position inside the numbers in the hash, he gets vertical right. So when you run routes, you want to threaten certain players on your way to the top of your route. So when you get off the line of scrimmage, he's looking at the second level. I'm gonna give that second level defender, like this young lady right here, second level defender my attention before that safety gets my attention. So I get at him to get his attention, freeze him. Now I get by him. I'm working corner to safety. I know I want to keep that safety there and push that corner wide. So now I'm gonna look at this young man right here, and give him my attention to widen him up then get vertical, and that leffa getting put in the ground with violence. Lets the quarterback know, okay, now he's getting vertical. Now I can let that thing go quick and anticipate where he is. It's the little things that JSN and Sam Darnold do to get on the same page. That's uh, it's just so much fun to watch.
00:56:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, it was. The ball was from the line of scrimmage. It was forty three yards.
00:56:27
Speaker 5: It's really where because Steve Largent and Dave Craig used to practice forty two to forty four yards.
00:56:32
Speaker 4: It was timing.
00:56:33
Speaker 5: If you're up and press, I'm gonna throw it, probably a little bit quicker. If he's off, I'm gonna I'm gonna wait for you for you to clear. And it's not how far you throw it, it's throwing it quickly when they're open, so other guys don't have a chance. And again they are, they're on a they're on a wavelength. That's pretty pretty remarked on page.
00:56:50
Speaker 6: Kind of like me and you on Thursday nights.
00:56:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, the same thing, it's even better.
00:56:53
Speaker 6: Same thing.
00:56:54
Speaker 4: That's hard to say. I mean, that's saying something.
00:56:56
Speaker 3: All right, this next place, Jacoby bres said, is sacked by Tyree's night fumble pick up by d law and ran back for forty excuse me, thirty four yard touchdown.
00:57:04
Speaker 10: Leman Warie Bryant all in the secondary. Bryan looks like he wants to blitz.
00:57:10
Speaker 9: He does.
00:57:11
Speaker 3: Brissett hits his back, but he gets hit as he clows.
00:57:14
Speaker 4: But all picked up.
00:57:15
Speaker 8: It's going the other way. It's DeMarcus Lawrence. He's gonna lok in touchdown Seahawks. If it stands, Arizona is gonna argue that Brissette's arm was going forward. It's now called a touchdown Seahawks thirty two yards.
00:57:32
Speaker 4: D Low pitch it up and takes it in.
00:57:36
Speaker 3: They'll replay. They'll look, let's see if.
00:57:39
Speaker 10: It stands getting there before the arm was coming forward.
00:57:45
Speaker 3: That was ty Reese Knight on the blitz. All right, I'm gonna'ma give you just a simple analysis before you go. Arizona's line is so bad. They are so bad, and going into this game, I knew that there's gonna be some pressure. They motioned Lineman. He goes over to the right side. You got three guys blocking one, but you're overwhelmed to the left side of the formation for the Cardinals.
00:58:07
Speaker 5: What do you see, moyre, Well, this is one of the few times that we actually send more than four or five guys.
00:58:12
Speaker 4: There are six guys that came on this one.
00:58:15
Speaker 5: I think Tyreek Knight does a really good job of reading where the opening is. They had schemed this, they had not shown this blitz. It was on second and eleven. Again, most blitz has come more on third down because you're just not sure if they're going to run.
00:58:28
Speaker 7: It or not.
00:58:30
Speaker 5: And on this one, it's one of those Coach McDonald called plays. I mean, we're fundamentally is it sound in the secondary? Nope, not even We got basically four guys covering all their receivers. We just kind of dropping a zone and hope we get to the quarterback and maybe rally to the football. They got a guy wide open on a cross some route. But Tyree Knight does a really good job of accelerate. I didn't even know he had that kind of quickness. But this is actually two plays because it's almost identical to the next one, which we're not gonna play. But just to and again to me DeMarcus Lawrence has been I don't know if he's he's one of the top three best things we did this year from an improvement standpoint. Guys who you know Byron Murphy made the big jump in his second year, right, I would say Barnett same thing or tied end. Signing him as a free agent was huge. It is made us that much better.
00:59:29
Speaker 3: It's a numbers game. You got four guys to the right, three offensive linemen. You're gonna lose that battle, even if you get the running back involved.
00:59:36
Speaker 6: Yeah, numbers game.
00:59:37
Speaker 3: When he comes to blitzing, all right, this last one, Drake Thomas blows up Za for a big third down stop.
00:59:43
Speaker 4: He's hustling, is what he's doing.
00:59:44
Speaker 10: Higgins on the reception, third down and one players on a just set on the center.
00:59:50
Speaker 9: Nike gets the hand off, he's in the back fielding goes down.
00:59:53
Speaker 4: Holy catfish.
00:59:55
Speaker 2: The flag is down, however far.
00:59:57
Speaker 3: Side, and it's gonna go with in Arizona.
01:00:02
Speaker 5: Yeah, soe Well, first of all, third and one. I don't even know why people try to run on third and one on us. It just we stop it almost every time. Third and one, fourth and one. I love that down a distance, bring it on. They they they run a play that's a long developing play. They're actually gonna pull their their off side guard, their right guard, and they're also got a guy in motion, a wing, a tight end that they're gonna kick out. Now, they got the numbers to block this. But Drake Thomas does something that I told sometimes you just gotta go make it. You just gotta you gotta shoot the gap. Now the guard misses him, who pulls He shouldn't have missed him. You always say, never passed up for him. Well he probably should. Well if not, then it should be the wing or tight end one of them. We always say, you know, if it's if the if it's not painted, paint that fence right. If you see color a different color jersey, even if it's not your guy, you have to hit it.
01:00:59
Speaker 4: They don't.
01:00:59
Speaker 5: But part of that is because Drake Thomas is a hunter of the ball and he is attacker.
01:01:04
Speaker 4: Now, he may not be the biggest guy in the world.
01:01:07
Speaker 5: I don't know if he's the fastest, but when you put it all together, he's been another find. He has been he's been a godsend for us. And he's just a playmaker and He's made a bunch of them this season for us.
01:01:19
Speaker 3: There's sometimes in football where you have your responsibility. All right, I got deep middle, I got hooked curl. But you see ball, then you go get ball at some point.
01:01:28
Speaker 6: And that was it right there.
01:01:29
Speaker 3: I don't think that was the design Blitz. I think he saw the poll, he sure the handoff, he saw the gap. He says, I'm gonna go make a play right there. Hunter, hunter gather, not a gather. There's a difference in that, there is. And you've got to have in the running game. You got to have a hunter. And we've got a couple of them. And again, Terse Knight, great job coming in. I mean, we know Ernest Jones. By the way, it looks like Ernest Jones is gonna play this week. That's huge going back to the Rams, not saying you know, maybe you know him and Cup have a big day. All right, Well that was the film room and three great plays. Now when we come back, it's time to talk that talk. That's when we throw some topics out there. We disagree, we agree. Who knows that's coming up next here on Hawk's lot.
01:02:13
Speaker 2: It's time to talk that talk with Michael Bumpus and Paul Moyer on Hawks Live.
01:02:20
Speaker 3: Welcome back to Hawks Live. Let's get it, let's get it, let's get it. Time to talk that talk. We've got some great fans out here, and now we appreciate you guys hanging out on a Thursday with us. I don't even watch like network TV anymore.
01:02:34
Speaker 6: What comes on on Thursday?
01:02:36
Speaker 3: Remember back in the day, used to rush on for a Thursday night show. Those were good.
01:02:41
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it was a big one. That was big. Yep. What was the other one with Michael J.
01:02:47
Speaker 10: Fox?
01:02:48
Speaker 4: That one? There's a few, yeah, you know. And by the way, they were all family ones exactly.
01:02:54
Speaker 3: Those days are over completely, Netflix all day all right.
01:02:57
Speaker 4: Now, My wife, she she's like, do we have Bravo?
01:03:00
Speaker 5: I probably, I don't know, because I got rid of after YouTube TV and the whole ESPN that I said.
01:03:04
Speaker 3: Bagging, And so she's protesting.
01:03:07
Speaker 4: That's not protesting.
01:03:08
Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm not paying one hundred and fourteen dollars, you got it, no more. And so anyways, the long she goes, I don't know the one of the mini mini.
01:03:20
Speaker 3: Wise, thank you?
01:03:21
Speaker 4: Yeah, And I don't know if it's the Atlanta one. The Tampa Bay one just popped up, you.
01:03:25
Speaker 6: Know, Utah, Utah, Atlanta, Yeah, everywhere.
01:03:28
Speaker 4: How come they don't have a Seattle one.
01:03:31
Speaker 11: It's no Sun, no sun, and it's not people are I don't know. Yeah, it's not the market here, I got you. It's not the market in Bellevue. Bellevue, Bellevue.
01:03:43
Speaker 3: Alright, let's talk that talk, all right. Want me to start this one or you you can do it, all right, man. The biggest strength of this team is the offense or the defense.
01:03:53
Speaker 4: They're both pretty good, man.
01:03:56
Speaker 7: You know what.
01:03:58
Speaker 5: I originally was going to go the defense, but the defense gave up a couple of leads this year, right one to Tampa Bay when we had a lead in the first game against San Francisco.
01:04:09
Speaker 4: Are you gonna look at the The offensive scored twenty three or more in every game but two.
01:04:14
Speaker 5: The first game of the year we scored thirteen, and there was one a game we won where we score twenty and we had another one with twenty three.
01:04:20
Speaker 4: But everything's been pretty.
01:04:22
Speaker 5: Much in the thirties and forties without having with turning the ball over too. I mean, if we stopped turning the ball over, this this thing could be really crazy. So I guess what you're asking me is we're up the six, Do I want the defense on the field over down six? Do I want the offense on the field. And I feel pretty good about the offense, I really do. I think we can run, and Sam Donalds had more fourth quarter comebacks.
01:04:48
Speaker 4: I think anybody would the last two years. So I'm gonna go with the offense.
01:04:51
Speaker 3: This is tough because the defense are like the bones, right, they make it all work. But the offense is like the muscle. You see the muscle, you know, And that's that's the way I feel about it. But man, because they're both good. I think they're both top five units when you look at it, and I think I'm gonna go defense simply because the defensive line I think is better than the offensive line.
01:05:16
Speaker 6: That's fair.
01:05:16
Speaker 3: And I think you probably have an All Pro guy on that line and maybe sprinkling a Pro bowler on that line, So I think it can go either way. But just because of talent alone, and when it gets cold and you gotta play some tough football in the playoffs, the defense at the shine, so you got to run the football. We haven't seen one ninety eight last week, but it was a you know, eighty three here, sixty there.
01:05:41
Speaker 6: So now I'm gonna go with the defense.
01:05:43
Speaker 4: Yeah.
01:05:44
Speaker 5: I again, I don't know if either of us are wrong. I don't think we'll fight fight over this one. I think we're gonna know last. We'll ask that question next Thursday. So I think we're gonna find out obviously this week for sure.
01:05:57
Speaker 6: All Right, you got the next one, all.
01:05:59
Speaker 5: Right, the Sewks. There's some stats to this is the challenge. I think Matthew Stafford's a very good quarterback. I don't think he has a really he didn't have the kind of arm strength and the ball doesn't come out with the same type of spin that we have with Sam Darnold.
01:06:16
Speaker 4: But he's more of a timing guy, right.
01:06:18
Speaker 5: He remind me a little bit different type of quarterback than Baker Mayfield, but both very smart guys. The Seahawks can effectively blitz Matthew Stafford this week, and we don't.
01:06:32
Speaker 3: Blitch a lot, Well, let me tell you who he is when it comes to blitz and Stafford was blitzed eighteen times against the forty nine ers, tied for the third most in the game this season, and it didn't phase him at all. He completed thirteen passes for one hundred and sixty one yards in all four of his touchdowns. That's the second most four quarterback against the blizz this season. Stafford is the only player to throw for four or more touchdowns he gets the blitz in a game this season, and he's done it in three straight games.
01:06:59
Speaker 6: Thankfully.
01:06:59
Speaker 3: The Seahawks so not blitz a lot seventeen percent of the times, like bottom three when it comes to the league. But can they get after the quarterback? Can they effectively blitz him? The reason why I'm gonna say yes is because I think the Hawks are sticky on the back end, more sticky than the Rams. If I am the Seahawks offense, I'm going at number fourteen. I believe his first name is Kobe. I forgot his last name, but I'm going after him. I think that Riek is in a good place and Mewari is in a good place. The safety is in a good place, and that's without Jay Love. You're only gonna be able to send or you'll send one guy. I don't think Mike McDonald will send two unless they're desperate. Six maybe the Sin five, but no, I think that they can do it. I think they're gonna get got every now and then, but he's not gonna complete four touchdowns and what sixteen passes or thirteen passes.
01:07:43
Speaker 6: For one to sixty one?
01:07:44
Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I don't know if I want to go gimmick blitch, which I don't want to say again, but we did a little bit of that.
01:07:53
Speaker 4: We tried to fool at times. Baker Mayfield didn't.
01:07:56
Speaker 5: He didn't we didn't for him, And so now you have guys running free, and I think Stafford's too smart. You know, when you've been in the league that long, it's hard to fool those guys. If you're gonna blitz, it's gotta be we're manned up blitz, and I think we do match up well. I don't think they have a lot of speed, you know. Don't get me wrong. DeVante Adams is still a guy who who can hurt you, but you know, he's not throwing a ball downfield all over the place. I also think I don't think we have to blitz the ram. The forty nine Ers are not the same defense as the Seahawks are. They're not even close up front, and they're nowhere near in the secondary. We're a much better defense than the forty nine ers are, So we'll see if we can put pressure with four.
01:08:39
Speaker 4: I don't think we're gonna need to blitz, but I think if we have to, I think we'll be okay.
01:08:43
Speaker 3: And then Kobe al was talking about number fourteen for the Rams as Kobe Durant. I hate talking about guys, but get after Kobe please, okay, all right, can you do that for me?
01:08:52
Speaker 4: Yeah? All right, we'll hang on. I got a Texan coach McDonald and.
01:08:57
Speaker 3: Let him know we said go after fourteen, all right, JSN and Cooper Cup will outshine Pooka Nakoula and Davante Adams.
01:09:06
Speaker 5: That is a good one. Who that's a good one. Well, I'm gonna say yes because I'm predicting we're gonna win the game.
01:09:14
Speaker 4: I look, this is just one of those it's gonna I think it's gonna feel.
01:09:19
Speaker 5: A little different now, Sam Donald, look at tight coverage. He makes perfect throws. When you went last look last week, fort and out of quarterback, he did not make the tough throws.
01:09:30
Speaker 4: He couldn't do it. He couldn't make the tight window throws.
01:09:32
Speaker 5: They were high, they were in the dirt, got a couple of the receivers, you know, really clobbered with that.
01:09:38
Speaker 4: Sam Donald doesn't do it. The ball comes out quick, it's right on the money. We can escape. But I think where we're gonna hurt them is when.
01:09:45
Speaker 5: We mix it up and we do some type of double moves and we get some maximum protection because I think they want to jump all of our short stuff and there's gonna be some opportunities over the over the top. Sam Donald's gonna have to read this too, because they're gonna they're gonna look like Michelle drop their safeties down. He's got to see it and he's been known to see it quick and throw the ball quick. And so I think jayas Santa Cooper can have a big day. So I'm gonna say yes. I just think we have more explosive plays than they do.
01:10:14
Speaker 3: This is why they're not gonna outshine, but they're still gonna win because Matthew's gonna have to throw the ball forty five times forty times, and just the numbers alone, right, is going to allow these guys numbers to look better. You know how art game goes, it's gonna be jsaying for ninety to one hundred, Cooper Cub's gonna have two or three for forty five fifty and three first downs, and then you'll sprinkle in the tight ends.
01:10:37
Speaker 6: I think it's a compliment that they're.
01:10:40
Speaker 3: Not gonna outshine it because they're gonna get contributions from other spots as well. I think that's where this team is, especially with the tight end. So I think because I'm hoping that the Seahawks take care of the runs where they have to throw care got to take care and that's the run is the scariest part for you with this team, right, So I'm hoping that they take care of the run so they have to throw the full ball. Therefore, we just sprinkled the season and all across the field with our weapons and.
01:11:04
Speaker 6: We're good to go.
01:11:05
Speaker 4: Are you nervous about this game?
01:11:06
Speaker 3: Extremely excited her, I'm I'm anxious.
01:11:10
Speaker 4: I yeah, I'm like, are we I think we're really good football team. I really do. I want to push it. I want to push that boulder over the mountain and say, oh no, we are, We're the king of the hill here.
01:11:27
Speaker 5: And so I think that's it doesn't affect you know what the future is going to be in our Super Bowl run.
01:11:33
Speaker 4: But it's an important game for us to play.
01:11:35
Speaker 6: Well Stephenstone, we got to get there.
01:11:37
Speaker 3: Hey, come join us here at Hawk's Live at Belvy Square Center Court.
01:11:40
Speaker 6: Well, you have a chance to win gift cards from the dining dish.
01:11:43
Speaker 3: You got the Bellvy collections and Knights that they're giving away gift cars to a fogel the chow.
01:11:51
Speaker 5: I went light today. I was trying to fast. I've been in Hawaii, but on vacation, I put on it. I put on a couple of layers. Okay, I gotta get them off here in the next week.
01:12:00
Speaker 4: Ten day sushr winter coat.
01:12:01
Speaker 3: It's all good.
01:12:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not really well. I guess it's winter, but you.
01:12:05
Speaker 6: Know I would get there. Don't worry about it.
01:12:06
Speaker 3: Pulo fast and drop ten pounds.
01:12:09
Speaker 4: You still love me.
01:12:09
Speaker 3: They always care always.
01:12:11
Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, we'll we come back. We'll give you a preview to this game. Oh yeah, what did I have?
01:12:17
Speaker 3: My producer greatest producing the game in my ear right now?
01:12:20
Speaker 6: What did I have?
01:12:21
Speaker 3: I had, uh, the meat beef, you know what I had, the full Brazilian experiences. What I had all right? I had the cirln to have the other Rabbi. He had the lamb shots, roasted chicken, and a lot more. All right, man, we'll come back. We'll put a bow on this thing that's coming up next.
01:12:45
Speaker 1: Back to more of Hawks Live, presented by the Dining District. That's a Bellevue collection broadcasting live from Bellevue Square Center Cord.
01:12:54
Speaker 2: Here's your host, Michael Bumpus.
01:12:58
Speaker 3: Welcome back to Hawk. I have a Michael Pampas with Paul Moyer. The show is every Thursday right here in Seattle Sports. It's presented by the Dining disc got the bill Vy Collection, and man, we've had a great show.
01:13:08
Speaker 6: We only got three more after.
01:13:09
Speaker 4: This, Paul, I know I'll be here for all three. Okay, So for those who are listening, you can come back now.
01:13:15
Speaker 6: You know you're the reason why they're here. So I got to get the people what they want.
01:13:19
Speaker 5: Yeah, but I'm I'm nervous about this game. We talked about it. Are excited. I'm just excited, I really am. I'm hopeful that we're going to prove to everybody that this is no fluke, and I don't think it is. I think we're good on the offensive line, defensive line. We got some injuries, so I got a little bit of a built in excuse, and McVeigh is very good at finding your weakness. So I think it's gonna be a great chess match or whatever we want to call it between McDonald and McVeigh.
01:13:47
Speaker 4: And you know what I'm shocked at. So it's not the national afternoon game.
01:13:53
Speaker 5: Crazy right, it's at one o'clock. They got Denver in Kansas City. I get it, I guess I mean Denver. Yeah, you know, Patrick Mahomes kind of like Dallas Cowboys, I mean are on every prime time deal. But this is two seven and two teams and most are saying are playing the best football.
01:14:11
Speaker 4: Forget New England. I mean they're nine and two.
01:14:13
Speaker 5: But that's a little fool's goal there, and the rest of the country is not going to see it.
01:14:18
Speaker 4: Just us locals here in LA.
01:14:20
Speaker 3: I mean it fits right, Just stay low key as a Seattle Sea off. They say, look, we gave you Monday night against the Texans, we gave you Sunday night against the Commanders.
01:14:29
Speaker 6: You know, now we've got to go back to the well and you watch Pat Mahomes do their thing.
01:14:33
Speaker 5: When's we don't have a national game for a while, doing the next one is Thursday night, December eighteenth. But I was looking at even like one twenty five games. There might be one National afternoon game, all right, So again, you know, just.
01:14:49
Speaker 3: Just credit you know a Lil Wayne said Rogi's moving silence like lasagna.
01:14:54
Speaker 6: You get that, all right, That's why I'm here for you.
01:14:57
Speaker 3: Maybe. But the question is going into this though, can Sam Donald have just not even a great game?
01:15:06
Speaker 6: Can you just have a solid game?
01:15:07
Speaker 3: Because people always go back to the last two games of the season with the Vikings, because that was a big game and he didn't show up. What they don't say or don't talk about, is how bad the offensive.
01:15:16
Speaker 6: Line was and how beat up the defense was.
01:15:18
Speaker 3: They don't. They forget that part. So I want, I wanted for him, for him to have just a solid game. Improve these people wrong.
01:15:24
Speaker 5: Well, we saw him last year here and when he beat us rowing to his left or moving into pocket to his left, stepping up mad an incredible throw to another come from behind wind right.
01:15:37
Speaker 4: There's nothing.
01:15:38
Speaker 5: I watched that game. I went to go watch it to see what their offensive line was.
01:15:44
Speaker 4: Horrible.
01:15:44
Speaker 5: I mean it was horrible, and I go this was supposed to be a good offense line. But Minnesota had some injuries going into the playoffs. But because of that, I still have that little apprehension like, oh, don't, don't, don't. We turned the ball over a lot, not really none really his fault other than one against Tampa Bay. But yeah, you know, I'm hopeful and I want to prove to the rest of the world we're legit super Bowl contenders.
01:16:12
Speaker 3: Stacey asked me. She said, can the turnover problem be fixed in a week? And she couldn't believe it when I said yes. I said, Okay, snapping the football can be fixed. You get familiar the turnover, the interception, you just give better protection. It can be fixed in a week. That's football, I think. And if it is fixed, then these guys are going to uh just. I don't want to say keep it close, because it's going to be close regardless, but have it beat close and have it feel like you're still in control of the game.
01:16:39
Speaker 6: I think that's key.
01:16:40
Speaker 3: We've been in games where it feels close and we're not in control of the game.
01:16:45
Speaker 4: I think we're I think we're better than they are.
01:16:47
Speaker 5: There's some things you mentioned to fix, Yeah, the snaps, Yes, A Lucas that that bull rush. Go back to the forty nine er game when he got bull rush and got pushed into Sham Darnold that the fumble came from it, that same thing. He got bull rushed on that and because of that, I think Barnett got pushed in and his helmet was in the way, right, No fault of Sam darmosbow, But big game. They got to play perfect to win it, and I think they're gonna win this one.
01:17:16
Speaker 3: All right, you heard it first. Paul Moore says, game set, match, Let's get it done. Special things to de Anthony Bell, Bryce Cable who for joining the show. Our board operator Ian Douglas on sitean engineer is the lovely Brenda Rodgers. Promotions manager is Jessica Kelly, Production assistant as Hudson French, and our executive producer is Nasa Choby. 01:17:44
Speaker 1: Thanks for listening to Hawks Live, presented by the Dining District. Death of Bellevue Collection by from Bellevue Square Center Court Thursday nights from seven to nine pm exclusively on the home of the Seahawks, Seattle Sports Ted, and the Seattle Sports app
00:18:59
