ABOUT THIS EPISODE
This week on Hardly Working, it’s a rollercoaster of casting news, celebrity chaos, and one of the strangest shoplifting schemes we’ve ever heard.
In movie news, Kathryn Hahn has officially been cast as Mother Gothel in the upcoming Tangled, which is very exciting… unless you’re Rapunzel.
Meanwhile, it’s been a rough week for Britney Spears, who was reportedly pulled over for a DUI after police received a call about erratic driving.
While we were away, we may have also missed a superhero wedding — rumors say Tom Holland and Zendaya have already tied the knot, though the couple hasn’t officially confirmed it yet.
In fast food news:
- Burger King has released a Biscoff-filled soft serve cone
- Pizza Hut is bringing back its Hot Honey Pizza
- And yes, we discuss the very strange viral moment involving the McDonald's CEO’s extremely human bite of his new product.
Sports fans might enjoy this one: Cristo Fernández, best known as Dani Rojas on Ted Lasso, is actually becoming a professional soccer player at 35.
In Harry Potter-adjacent news:
- Emma Watson reportedly has a new boyfriend
- And Paul Bettany is rumored to be the top choice to play Voldemort in the upcoming Harry Potter.
Meanwhile in media shakeups, the rumored acquisition of Warner Bros. by Paramount could put Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network under the same company for the first time ever.
And the best news of the week:
A brand-new Scary Movie is coming back starring Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall.
Plus, we break down one of the most bizarre crimes of the week — a Florida man allegedly stole thousands of dollars in trading cards from Target by scanning taco seasoning packets at self-checkout.
And of course, Unpopular Opinions:
- If daylight savings started at noon on a Friday no one would complain
- Most podcasts would be better at 20 minutes instead of 2 hours
- Timid drivers are worse than aggressive ones
- Lego games are lazy cash grabs
Pop culture chaos, fast food drama, and taco seasoning crime — all in one episode.
