ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Join Pratik Sharda, Co-Founder and CEO of CraftifAI, for a deep dive into the next frontier of artificial intelligence: moving beyond text and screen-based software to power physical systems. While generative AI has revolutionized web and enterprise software development, building software for physical devices—such as robots, autonomous vehicles, industrial machinery, and IoT hardware—presents a fundamentally different engineering challenge. Drawing on his background as an Electronics Engineer, MBA Gold Medalist, and deep-tech founder, Pratik explains how CraftifAI's multi-agent platform automates low-level firmware, edge AI perception pipelines, and FPGA development. In this episode, he breaks down why off-the-shelf foundation models fail in real-world hardware environments, and how specialized AI agents are unlocking production-ready software for the physical world.
🎯 Insights You’ll Learn:
The Transition from Screens to Physical AI: Why the largest economic impact of artificial intelligence is shifting from digital workflows to autonomous physical machines, robotics, and industrial edge devices.
Why Embedded Software Engineering Is Uniquely Difficult: The fundamental differences between cloud software and hardware-constrained environments, where real-time latency, memory limits, and physical safety risks make standard "vibe coding" impossible.
Automating the Embedded Stack with Agentic AI: How agentic architectures autonomously write firmware, synthesize FPGA logic, and optimize edge AI pipelines across diverse hardware architectures.
The Foundation Model Gap: Why general-purpose LLMs generate code that fails on physical hardware, and how CraftifAI bridges the gap between probabilistic text generation and deterministic, production-ready embedded code.
Enterprise AI Adoption Beyond the POC: Practical strategies for taking physical AI deployments out of experimental lab pilots and into high-volume industrial manufacturing and automotive production.
🌍 Why This Matters:
The world relies on billions of microcontroller units (MCUs) and edge processors running physical devices, yet embedded firmware development remains an expensive, slow human bottleneck. Unlike cloud web applications where code can be patched instantly, a bug in physical hardware can destroy machinery or cause physical injury. Pratik Sharda and the CraftifAI team are solving this critical bottleneck. By deploying an agentic platform designed specifically for hardware-software co-design.
