00:00:00
Speaker 1: Caroline, it's time for Caroline.
00:00:28
Speaker 2: Pretty excited to be here with Mimi Bouchard.
00:00:31
Speaker 1: I'm very excited to be with you, Caroline.
00:00:35
Speaker 2: Mimi, I just was telling you beforehand, you're really such a smart little cookie. You are. You are, Mimi. You really are.
00:00:44
Speaker 1: Thank you. I'll take it.
00:00:47
Speaker 2: I don't feel like you're that old. You have to be like early 30s, right? Yes.
00:00:51
Speaker 1: That is accurate.
00:00:52
Speaker 2: I am.
00:00:52
Speaker 3: Yep.
00:00:54
Speaker 2: Okay. So you've had already your big life breakthrough and you're only in your early 30s. So tell me if your story relates to mine because you started activations, which actually, I have to say, I am so here for this. And it makes so much sense to me why you needed to start this because I feel like this would probably be pretty exhausting starting an app and coming up with all these activations. But it was worth it because... You don't want to slow down. And like, I've felt this way before. I have done so much work on myself. Like, literally, I have been working on myself since my teens, probably. Maybe even before then. I've always been aware that I need to be improving and learning new things. And then in my 20s and 30s, really started doing a lot of therapy work and get to the core of stuff and trying to rewire my brain. But so much of it is slowing down and reliving stuff and going through it, which has a purpose. But what we really need to do to get charging forward is to activate our mind into the future self that we want to be. And I do feel like that has been missing. And is that why you created activations?
00:02:02
Speaker 3: I created activations because it was this thing that I was creating for myself for so many years before I ever even shared anything with the public. And it genuinely changed my life, the trajectory of my life in such a significant way that you know, I ended up.
00:02:19
Speaker 1: Just kind of creating it out of a need.
00:02:21
Speaker 3: But what's funny is that just like you, I got really into personal development very young. I was in a very rock bottom low point in my life when I found personal growth and spiritual growth and really decided that I wanted to live a better future for myself and create a better future and actually tap into that potential that I knew was inside of me. that everybody has, you know, that little voice inside of them saying, I could be more, I could be.
00:02:51
Speaker 1: This different version of myself.
00:02:52
Speaker 3: Well, I listened to that voice and I ended up creating this life because I listened to that voice. So long story short, I kind of did everything that everyone tells you to do when you first dive into self-help and self-development.
00:03:08
Speaker 2: Like what is that? What is everything?
00:03:10
Speaker 3: Waking up at 5 a.m., doing a two hour long morning routine and you.
00:03:14
Speaker 1: Know, trying to do the vision boards. And I had on.
00:03:18
Speaker 3: My to-do list every day, meditate for 10 minutes and, you know, all these things.
00:03:23
Speaker 2: This is my life, Mimi. This is my life.
00:03:26
Speaker 1: I was doing it all.
00:03:27
Speaker 3: And I started feeling a little better, but I just wasn't seeing actual change happen in my life. And I was dedicating hours a day to this practice, but I wasn't seeing actual change in my finances, in my confidence, in my relationships, in my career. Like I just I wanted all these things and I was doing the work and I was exhausting myself, but I couldn't see results as quickly as I wanted to see them.
00:03:51
Speaker 2: I feel like you're speaking my life story. I feel you to the T. Like so many to-do lists for my manifestations and how I'm rewiring my life all the time. And I'm like, I'm so tired of this. Let's get to it.
00:04:01
Speaker 1: I know.
00:04:02
Speaker 2: Yes.
00:04:03
Speaker 3: And I essentially have always been the kind of person that likes a shortcut.
00:04:07
Speaker 1: I like a hack.
00:04:08
Speaker 3: I don't, if there's a way to do it in an easier way, like I'm the girl to find that way. So essentially I realized that the one thing that was missing in my practice was a dedicated consistency around feeling like I am already that future self Mimi that I wanted to be a visualization type of practice of actually like embodying this new me that I wanted to be.
00:04:33
Speaker 1: In everyday moments.
00:04:34
Speaker 3: So long story short, I decided to stop trying to do all these things that everyone told me to do. And I just honed in on doing what actually made me feel significantly different very quickly. And for me, that was creating these new audios that I'd listened to in everyday moments with my eyes open. So I would record these visualizations.
00:04:56
Speaker 1: Okay. Just basically a descriptor of the.
00:04:59
Speaker 3: Life that I want to live of how it feels to live that life. And then I wanted to make it extra motivating. So I started to add. like music from YouTube, like cinematic music. And I'd layer it in on GarageBand on my computer. And I'd spend hours creating these audio tracks that are now called activations.
00:05:17
Speaker 2: Wait, so time out. Are the activations that we're listening to on the app what you made for yourself? Oh, no.
00:05:23
Speaker 3: Now we have like audio engineers and script writers and specialists that now they're actual like pieces of art.
00:05:31
Speaker 2: Well, I was going to ask you too, like all of these quick little motivating things activations, they're really well written. Like you're very smart. How do you get there?
00:05:42
Speaker 3: And I don't write them now at this point, six years into the business, I have an incredible script writer and Katie, and she.
00:05:52
Speaker 1: Is just like so talented when it comes to copywriting.
00:05:55
Speaker 3: We we've created really this whole like persona of the activations voice. It's a mix of like encouraging, um, and no BS, but also soulful. And it just reminds you of who you really are, of your potential, this voice. It's like having a pep talk in your back pocket. None of the audios are meditative and calming. And that's what I was going to say earlier. Back in the day, I had meditation on my to-do list every single day. And what I realized is that I wasn't doing it because I wasn't looking for what meditation would give me. I wasn't looking to clear my head and calm my thoughts and de-stress. I was in my early 20s at this point, wanting to create a huge career for myself, wanting to radically transform my health, my relationships. Like I was looking for achievement. I wasn't looking to calm down and relax. That's why I wasn't doing it because meditation wasn't, it's not designed to transform your finances and your relationships. It's designed, it's an ancient, beautiful practice to calm you down.
00:06:57
Speaker 1: But I was trying to do it to get a different result.
00:07:00
Speaker 3: And I realized, no, I need to be listening to something that amps me up, that motivates me, that gets me into this like juicy aliveness feeling that makes me feel like I am living my potential. Like I am living as this future self version of me that I know I can be. And I couldn't find that anywhere. And I also didn't want to listen to something that required me to like carve 20 minutes out of my day and sit still and do nothing. I was wanting something that would energize me, that would give me this like that I could listen to while I was grocery shopping, while I was cooking dinner, while I was getting ready in the morning.
00:07:36
Speaker 1: Something that reminded me of the Mimi that I knew I could be.
00:07:39
Speaker 3: So I ended up creating these activations and I'd use them myself for years. Nobody knew about this. It was like my weird little thing that I would do. And I kind of stopped doing everything else I stopped doing the 5 a.m.
00:07:50
Speaker 1: Morning routine. I still would do journaling because I think that's very powerful.
00:07:54
Speaker 3: But I would stop doing the vision boards. I stopped doing everything else. I started to wake up a little later, you know, before one of my jobs I had to get to. And it was like a bell curve on a graph, Caroline. Honestly, it's like for the years I was kind of doing everything that everyone tells you to.
00:08:09
Speaker 1: It was like a little bit of growth.
00:08:11
Speaker 3: But then when I started to drop everything else and just start listening to activations, it was like whoop. this bell curve of growth, I started to immediately see differences in my life and like tangible changes that I was seeking for years. And then five years after, you know, I kept using, it kept using, it kept changing my life. And then eventually I just kind of, you know, shared these audios online and people like ate it up. They were like, I've been looking for this. Meditation, you know, is not exactly what I'm looking for in this phase of life. I want to change something, want to transform something. So activations I've kind of developed as this like new category of audio and it's cinematic and motivational and you listen to it in everyday life. You can habit stack it. You don't need to like carve out time in your day.
00:09:00
Speaker 2: Habit stack it. I love that.
00:09:03
Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's a bit about my story.
00:09:06
Speaker 2: I think it's great, Mimi. I really think it's great. And I, um, I just think so many of us can relate to this because I think it's so great. You were even talking about this. You do like a little intro to activations when you get the app. But you're even talking about like in your daily life, like in your quiet time or when you're journaling or whatever. But it's like how cool that we are at this point in our life when we are aware of our mental health so intently, you know? I feel very thankful to be living in a time where like the age of technology and like how fast it's moving can be very overwhelming. But also it does... allow a mass amount of people to receive a mass amount of information that can also be very helpful like people being able to get activations just on their phone and listen to this it just this little thing can really change your life and i have talked about this many times before but basically what I feel like this is doing is it's reprogramming your self-talk and I just feel like so many people have a terrible self-talk and they don't even realize it and that self-talk can just tear you down and you have to train yourself you know you have to train yourself and the.
00:10:20
Speaker 1: Yes, you're so spot on.
00:10:22
Speaker 3: It's the biggest thing that people don't want to hear about changing your life is that you need to be consistent with what you do, right?
00:10:29
Speaker 1: And the other.
00:10:30
Speaker 3: Really big realization I had over the years, and I've written a book on transformation.
00:10:35
Speaker 2: Okay, what's the book called? Tell us the book.
00:10:38
Speaker 3: Activate Your Future Self. I launched it with Hay House a couple years ago.
00:10:42
Speaker 2: I love Hay House.
00:10:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, they're amazing, aren't they? They're great.
00:10:46
Speaker 2: Well, I just love Louise Hay. I think she's awesome.
00:10:48
Speaker 1: Who doesn't?
00:10:49
Speaker 2: And so any book that's on Hay House, I'm already interested in because I'm like, I know there's going to be some natural healing in this book and I'm very interested. Yeah, I know.
00:10:58
Speaker 1: It was a really big accomplishment.
00:11:00
Speaker 3: I felt like it was everything over the past decade of my career that I kind of put into one place, but really my whole brand. And when I do these podcasts and I speak to people and I try to help people change, it really comes down to me feeling like I'm speaking to a younger version of myself or a different version of myself that isn't where she wants to be yet and trying to simplify it because I was so confused. There were so many things people were telling me to do back in the day. And really at the end of the day, there are very simple ways to change if you just uncomplicate it all. And I say in my book, you know, there's a two-step formula to transformation and I'll share it with you here. It's very simple. If you simplify transformation down to a simple two-step process, I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but it's simple. The first step is clarity. You must first get crystal clear on the version of you that you want to be. Her identity, like you were just saying, how she speaks to herself, how she dresses, how she walks, how she talks, how she lives her life, what kind of career she has. you know, her relationships, her family life, her confidence, but her identity, her self-image.
00:12:12
Speaker 1: You must get crystal clear. The first step is clarity, okay?
00:12:17
Speaker 3: You need to know where you're going before trying to embark on this adventure.
00:12:21
Speaker 2: So what if you don't know? What if you can't even start? And also, by the way, I think, where can people go to this app? Just because if they're listening and they want to start downloading it, where is it? It's just Activations app, right? Activations on your app?
00:12:32
Speaker 3: I think, you know, we can actually create like a discount for your audience if you want.
00:12:37
Speaker 2: Perfect. Let's do it.
00:12:39
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:12:39
Speaker 3: So we can't do discounts on the app store because Apple doesn't let you, but if you guys want to get a 14 day free trial to activations, and then we'll just give you guys like the biggest discount we offer for some of these podcasts I do. Let's make up the link activations.com slash get real.
00:12:57
Speaker 1: Does that work? Cause your podcast.
00:12:59
Speaker 3: Great. So If you guys go to activations.com slash get real, you can get two weeks free. And I'll tell my team to put the biggest discount we put on there as well.
00:13:08
Speaker 2: Great. I have it. And I think I'm going to be listening to it every day. I really actually, it's so quick too. And another thing that I think that you do really well is you don't, you give options. Like I sometimes don't, when I see like a five minute one, I'm like, I don't have time for five minutes right now, but I do have time for two minutes. But then sometimes you're ready for a five minute and then you got some challenges. So it's kind of like whatever you have time for, whatever you're in the mood, you can do. And even like you said to like cooking or if you're doing laundry, who doesn't need a pep talk instead of being like, oh, these freaking socks. Like, I'm so tired of this. Like, this is I got to match it. I've worked on that myself being like, I'm so thankful I get to do this laundry and these clothes and try to get detergents that make me feel happy and thankful. And so, you know, try to do that, but throw activation in with it. And I feel like you're cooking with grease now, you know?
00:13:55
Speaker 3: Well, it's just like, if you want to listen to a podcast, I love listening to podcasts when I'm in the mood to like be entertained or educated. I love listening to a podcast. Sometimes I'm in the mood to just listen to music. Maybe if I'm, you know, kind of wanting to clear my head and then there's the mood you're in when you listen to an audio book and then you listen to an activation when you feel like you just want to get your spark back. That's kind of, you know, the intention. It's just another type of audio. You can press play in the background, but, uh, but.
00:14:23
Speaker 1: You're so sweet.
00:14:24
Speaker 3: Thank you for, for loving the app. I love how much you love it. And, um, I I'll tell you step two before I forget though.
00:14:31
Speaker 2: Oh, please, please, please.
00:14:33
Speaker 3: Uh, this pregnancy brain is real and I don't, I hate listening to a podcast and then the host is like about to say the second thing and then they forget or not the host, the guests.
00:14:41
Speaker 1: Right.
00:14:42
Speaker 2: Yeah. And also I can totally rabbit trail too. So I always love a good circle back. Um, is this, this is your first kid?
00:14:49
Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
00:14:50
Speaker 2: And you're eight and a half months with a boy. Yes.
00:14:52
Speaker 1: Yes. I have a little boy on the way.
00:14:55
Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
00:14:55
Speaker 2: I want to hear. Okay. Don't forget part two, but really fast. I want to know, are you having nervousness with being pregnant? Are you having to activations yourself into a new mindset with pregnancy? Cause I feel like I would be, I'm so nervous that I was such a wreck when I was pregnant, but this kind of mindset helped you.
00:15:14
Speaker 1: Massively.
00:15:15
Speaker 3: I'm like loving this stage of pregnancy. I'm going to be very clear. I had, like I was telling you off air, had a very difficult first trimester. I had mild hyperemesis gravity in, which is that like intense sickness that a lot of women can get. And, um, it was, it was a very challenging time, which actually led me to call up Katie, my script writer and, um, brand manager at activations.
00:15:39
Speaker 1: And And I was like, we need to create a motherhood category.
00:15:43
Speaker 3: So after I got out of this sickness of my first trimester, I kind of funneled all this energy into creating like a whole new category in.
00:15:51
Speaker 1: The app, which is included. And it's like pregnancy, birth, motherhood.
00:15:55
Speaker 2: Like when you're actually birthing? When you're birthing? Yeah, yeah.
00:15:58
Speaker 1: We have birthing tracks.
00:16:00
Speaker 2: I'm excited. Are you going to listen to one when you're birthing?
00:16:03
Speaker 1: Of course I am. Who do you think we made them for?
00:16:06
Speaker 2: Is it you talking? Yeah.
00:16:08
Speaker 3: So most of the, well, all the, most of the activations are my voice.
00:16:12
Speaker 2: Yeah. We have over 900, 900 activations. So you're like a recording artist. You go in the studio and you record these activations.
00:16:20
Speaker 3: Basically all I do, I do podcast interviews and record activations and have a great team that does all the rest.
00:16:26
Speaker 2: Do you have to get in a certain mind space before you start talking to get in a very soothing voice, but also energetic? I mean, there's a voice you might have to tap into.
00:16:34
Speaker 1: You know, it's so interesting.
00:16:36
Speaker 3: I actually feel like I sound a bit different in the activations because they're very, you.
00:16:40
Speaker 1: Know, engineered as well.
00:16:42
Speaker 3: Like we have a whole team that like, you know, and it's not just vocals, as you know, it's like the music is a huge.
00:16:47
Speaker 1: Component of the audios.
00:16:49
Speaker 3: And I feel like with all of the, you know, extras that we add into the activations, you know, I maybe sound a little different to me.
00:16:58
Speaker 1: But I don't even listen to them thinking it's me.
00:17:01
Speaker 3: It's kind of weird at this point, but it's its own persona, especially because I don't write the scripts either. It kind of just feels like someone that sounds like me.
00:17:21
Speaker 2: So when you're listening and saying these activations, you're obviously thinking of your future self. That's where your mind is going. Where is your body? How do you embody these?
00:17:31
Speaker 1: Such a good question. And that leads me to step two of transformation.
00:17:34
Speaker 2: Oh, way to get it back to it.
00:17:35
Speaker 1: You're setting me up.
00:17:36
Speaker 3: You're setting me up here. So step one is clarity.
00:17:39
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:17:40
Speaker 1: And we can talk after about how to get clear. It's way more simple than anyone thinks.
00:17:44
Speaker 2: Give us a hint. Give us a hint.
00:17:46
Speaker 3: Making a decision, getting, getting very clear through whether it's like journaling has always helped me get clear on what I want. Um, also it's just making a decision. It's like, okay, are you happy financially?
00:17:56
Speaker 1: Yes or no. If it's no, how much money would you like to make done?
00:17:59
Speaker 3: That is, you know, one of the goals that I have in one of the pillars of my life, which is the financial pillar. And then you go to the health, you know, and physical health pillar. Do I feel good in my body? Do I want to feel more fit? Do I want to, you know, uh, I don't know, change anything about my health Okay. That's another pillar, relationships, spirituality, like just kind of going through step-by-step your entire life and seeing where you want to improve. And putting pen to paper is a practice that I've really loved when it comes to the clarity piece, because.
00:18:30
Speaker 2: You're like making a spreadsheet for your life, taking inventory.
00:18:34
Speaker 1: It doesn't even need to be that organized though.
00:18:36
Speaker 3: Honestly, like I, I'm actually not like the most organized and consistent person naturally. And I have tended to just brain dump on paper when I wanted to get this clarity piece through. The biggest thing is just don't be a perfectionist about it. You know, you don't need to write this all down thinking that you can never change it. I've changed my vision for my life many times. And you're just always kind of going in the right direction if you just have some sort of vision.
00:19:01
Speaker 2: So you're just kind of constantly auditing your life.
00:19:05
Speaker 1: Not even constantly, maybe once a year.
00:19:08
Speaker 3: Unless I feel intuitively like there is something that I don't care as much about anymore or there's something new that I'd like to improve. It's just like an awareness.
00:19:18
Speaker 1: It's an awareness.
00:19:19
Speaker 2: Well, you know what's good about that is I feel like maybe this is another way to get peace because when you don't have the clarity, you're constantly trying to figure things out. You can't relax your brain. But when you do have the clarity and you know where you're going and you're all lined up, then you can kind of just like plug in and let your train roll for a little while. Like you don't have to always be analyzing every step of the way.
00:19:41
Speaker 3: That's exactly it. So clarity, you get it out of the way. Step one, you can do within an evening if you want. If you, someone listening right now is like, I want a full 180 in every area of my life, or they just want to feel better generally and like upgrade a few little areas of their life. It doesn't need to be this whole radical transformation. You can figure out the clarity piece in an evening just, you know, by writing on paper what your goals are. And step two is where more of the work comes in. And step two is becoming. So you must get clear and then you must become her. So before any of the things come into fruition in your physical world, before you make, you know, the 200 grand a year, before you meet your soulmate, before you have the healthiest, fittest, you know, health and body of your dreams, before you have those amazing relationships, the people you love, before you do any of those things, or achieve any of the goals that you have, you must first step into that version of you before the physical has manifested into your world. And this is not like woo-woo manifestation. This is self-image psychology. You have to become the version of you. You need to embody her self-image, her identity, her habits, who she is, her essence. And then naturally what will happen if you do that, the longer you do it, you know, the closer you're going to get, the more inevitable it becomes because it's just who you are. And the trick is to be her now. Those three words really changed my life.
00:21:16
Speaker 1: It was a reminder. You have to be her now.
00:21:19
Speaker 3: Remind yourself to be that version of you now in everyday moments because that is how your brain can take advantage of classical conditioning. A lot of my work is actually neuroscience-backed. A lot of people think, oh, like it's just positive thinking.
00:21:35
Speaker 1: It's not. This is so much more than that.
00:21:37
Speaker 3: This is programming your brain and creating new neural pathways to be the new self. And the new self lives in a life that the old self couldn't even recognize because the new self sees opportunities in places that always existed that the old self didn't see because there's something in our brains called the RAS, the reticular activating system. It's a filtration system that essentially... helps our conscious mind see things that were always there. Just like how if you're thinking of buying a red convertible, you start seeing it everywhere.
00:22:07
Speaker 1: You've heard that example. That's the RAS.
00:22:10
Speaker 3: So if you start having the self-image of someone who was destined to be a very successful businesswoman, for example, you're going to start noticing, oh, that person I need to talk to, this person I need to meet.
00:22:21
Speaker 1: I could pitch this idea here. I'll go to this event.
00:22:23
Speaker 3: And It's the same thing as if you identify as a healthy person, you're going to want to order, you know, the fish and veggies when you're out at a restaurant because it's just like how you eat.
00:22:35
Speaker 1: You enjoy it. It's who you are, right? So it's very self-image based, this work.
00:22:42
Speaker 2: Okay. I have a lot of questions here. Self-image. Some people feel like focusing on self-image. You're saying it though in a whole self-image, like you're physically. So you are saying this and I agree with you. You're saying that you physically will reflect how you feel internally. Is that right? Yes, 100%.
00:23:00
Speaker 1: And you need to train yourself.
00:23:02
Speaker 3: It's going to be uncomfortable because how are you tricking yourself to be confident if you've been self-conscious.
00:23:09
Speaker 2: Your whole life?
00:23:10
Speaker 1: I get it. It's uncomfortable. It's weird.
00:23:12
Speaker 3: You're like, what am I just acting as if I'm already this person? Is that the simple way to transform Mimi? It's just being her now and pretending I'm this person. Well, yeah, it's teaching your mind and your body how to live in a new state of being, how to live in the new identity and the new self-image and an easy way to just get yourself familiar with that type of change, which is the first thing you can do to change your life is to change.
00:23:39
Speaker 1: Your internal world, your identity.
00:23:41
Speaker 3: Because when you do that, then naturally your habits will change, your thoughts will change, the action you take. will change it makes it it's like hacking the system it makes it easier to do the things you know you need to do if you have found yourself telling yourself okay I need to wake up early and go to the gym or I need to eat healthier or I need to stop procrastinating when I'm working on my side hustle if you've found yourself telling yourself this it means that your identity your self-image it's not aligned with the person you want to be and you are sabotaging yourself so why don't you stop sabotaging yourself and just go to the root the core of the onion that's your self-image all the other layers outside of that are things that are really hard to change if your self-image hasn't changed your habits are very hard to change if you don't identify as the kind of person that is you know a healthy you know a vibrant person you're not going to identify with you know, movement and eating a certain way, if your identity is not aligned to someone that has very healthy relationships that communicates, you know, in a very healthy way with the people that you love, then you're never going to have that kind of relationship. So you need to just go to the core of the onion first and analyze that self-image and try to change that self-image before anything else.
00:25:04
Speaker 1: It'll make everything else more effortless.
00:25:06
Speaker 3: Okay, hold on.
00:25:07
Speaker 2: Maybe my daughter's calling me really fast. She calls me every day at lunch. It's going to be just a second. Hi, Sunny Bunny.
00:25:12
Speaker 3: Hi, Mom.
00:25:14
Speaker 2: Are you having a great day? Well, I love you so much. I can't wait to see you after school for the lemonade stand. Okay, have a great lunch, baby.
00:25:26
Speaker 3: Bye.
00:25:27
Speaker 2: I love you. Bye. So, Mimi, my daughter and I, something I would have to work through on your app is I have a little bit of separation anxiety from her. Like, she's seven. She's in first grade, and... We are just joint at the hip. She's my only child. She's my little angel. And I just... It was very hard for me to let her spread her wings and go to school because I just had so much separation anxiety. So she got a little watch and she calls me every day at lunch. But I'm sure you have some sort of activation for trust and releasing and believing that it's all going to work out, right?
00:26:04
Speaker 1: Yes, we have... Literally so many activations. It's overwhelming.
00:26:10
Speaker 3: I don't even know all the titles there. We literally have like almost a thousand at this point.
00:26:15
Speaker 2: Well, and also the motherhood will probably be very helpful because like I still need it. Even though my daughter's seven, I still need confidence, you know?
00:26:23
Speaker 1: Absolutely. And yeah.
00:26:26
Speaker 2: I wanted to say one more thing too. I have a lot of things to say. So clarity, first step. I have found that I cannot get clarity until I know. And like for me to know, I have to live through some of the layers. And I feel like now I have gotten through so many of my layers that were holding me down that I can get to clarity a lot faster. But I do think there is a season for everyone out there on this journey. I want you to consider this because I feel like I have gone through this and now I'm able to move quicker. But you do have to like process your life, you know, like. It's okay if like you have just moved, like I have realized, I think activations can help you move faster, like quickly, almost like quantum leap things. But sometimes I have realized I've had to like move just like a step by step. You know, like even if you feel like you're just kind of walking up a stair way, if you're getting a step up just a little bit each time, you're eventually just going to get there. You know, do you feel that way? And this really can help you get to those next steps. Because it's hard when you have to get through a lot of, like, origin story and tangled wires and false beliefs about yourself and, you know, limiting beliefs and habits and who you have programmed yourself to be. Like, it's hard to, like, navigate through all that a little bit, don't you think?
00:27:46
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:27:47
Speaker 3: You know, at the end of the day, you know, if you're going to tell yourself it's really hard, it's going to be really hard.
00:27:53
Speaker 2: There you are doing it, Mimi. Dang it.
00:27:57
Speaker 1: Listen, I told myself. Or tell yourself it's easy.
00:27:59
Speaker 3: No, I actually like you're going to believe your beliefs.
00:28:04
Speaker 2: Right.
00:28:04
Speaker 3: And of course, you know, it's going to be some sort of work to change something in your life for sure. But, you know, I find that the old me would have and used to say that I can't make a lot of money because I didn't come for any money. My parents, you know, grew up not when we were, you know, struggling when I was younger. And because of that, I you know, couldn't do this or because of that, I was always in this like victim mentality. And what I've learned is that it just didn't serve me whether or not, you know, it influenced things I could do. Like I've, I, there's always going to be someone that came from a worse place that has, you know, a worse setup that has actually achieved what you want and more. So I, I never really, uh, dwelled to be honest with you. And I know that there are different modalities. A this transformation that I just, for me, I just, I, I don't personally believe that that's the best way to do it.
00:29:01
Speaker 1: I think sometimes letting go and just moving on. And, and of course, every situation is different.
00:29:07
Speaker 3: So I'm not touching on every, you know, type of trauma, but, but for the general person, I think sometimes it's actually beneficial to just be more future focused and kind of, you know, forgive and forget and let go and learn from it. But, Uh, don't hold on so much is what I, at least for me has helped a lot. And again, I'm, this is individual advice here.
00:29:31
Speaker 2: Like, I love it. I think it's great. Okay. So tell me this when you're letting go, it's not like you're avoiding it and stuffing. Do you like acknowledge it? Do you look at it? you're letting go and kind of like, be like, I honor you like bye. Yeah, no, of course.
00:29:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:29:45
Speaker 2: A hundred percent. How do you let go?
00:29:48
Speaker 3: Something funny that I actually have done before. I haven't done this in a long time, but, uh, I have actually written on a piece of paper, everything that I used to be And then I've like burned that paper.
00:30:02
Speaker 2: Did that help? Did you feel that release? Yeah.
00:30:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
00:30:05
Speaker 3: Or I've just like, you know, written it down, acknowledge it and decided in that moment, this is like written it down or just done something to be like, this is no longer who I am.
00:30:15
Speaker 1: And, and then I don't like. dwell on it.
00:30:20
Speaker 2: But I think that's the key right there is you write it down, you acknowledge it. In that moment, you have a full understanding of what it was and then you acknowledge it and you make a choice to be like, I'm releasing that and moving into a new version.
00:30:34
Speaker 3: I've also given myself a lot of grace. Of course, there are things in my past that I wish that I would have changed earlier or I didn't do this or I didn't do that.
00:30:43
Speaker 1: But I just give myself a lot of grace as a person.
00:30:46
Speaker 3: And I think that comes from creating and cultivating this quite beautiful relationship with myself that I have developed after years ago, having the worst self image, the worst confidence I hated myself back in the day. And I, over the years have decided that my relationship with myself is the most important relationship in the world. Of course, I, you know, my husband and my soon to be born baby are in my family and, people I love, those are extremely important to me. But really, I think I have prioritized my relationship with myself so much so that it has been the best form of therapy where I haven't necessarily needed to speak to someone about it.
00:31:31
Speaker 1: I do a lot of self-therapy. If I feel like there's something I need.
00:31:34
Speaker 3: To sort, I write or I create something, whether it's putting pen to paper, whether it's even recording an audio to myself, it's not necessarily an activation, but sometimes I do on my walks, I want to like talk to myself and kind of do like a verbal journal entry.
00:31:54
Speaker 1: Sometimes I'll do that.
00:31:56
Speaker 3: And then I'll set an intention and I'll try to transform a certain area. And it's consistently worked for me in my life, doing it myself.
00:32:05
Speaker 2: So you speak, have you now gotten in the habit of Where your inner voice, the activation voice, it's almost like your parent. I think about how I parent my daughter. And I'm always speaking over her future self, which is her best self. I guess I am sort of trying to activate her into who she is. is capable of being, which is her best and highest self. And so it's almost like that voice. And so have you gotten to the point where now you are not mean to yourself? Like you were just constantly activating yourself?
00:32:41
Speaker 3: I don't, I'm not perfect. Definitely not. But I don't, I'm not mean to myself. I have created a lot of love for myself through this work and through my vision of my future self being one of you know, I'm the type of this, this future self vision that I live currently, you know, and I say future self, but just like you mentioned, your future self is synonymous with your best self, your favorite self, your ultimate self, whatever you want to call it. So I have been living like my future self for years now. And the vision I had back in the day that I would write that I wasn't, you know, and I wasn't there yet.
00:33:16
Speaker 1: It was, I want my.
00:33:17
Speaker 3: Future self to just be so radically happy and present and in love with herself and in love with her life. you know, and I wanted so many other qualities. I wanted to, you know, have a great career, earn money, do something I loved, have a beautiful relationship, um, with a partner, feel amazing with my health and, um, body image.
00:33:40
Speaker 1: Cause those were issues I used to have as well. And I wanted to live a very.
00:33:45
Speaker 3: Specific life and feel a specific way in my life. And I can honestly say that I have been living this for quite a while now.
00:33:53
Speaker 1: And it's because of this work. And it's simple. It's not like I.
00:33:58
Speaker 3: Do a lot of hours of personal development a day.
00:34:02
Speaker 1: It's really simple.
00:34:03
Speaker 3: I just remind myself to be her now in everyday moments. And I've learned over years, I've conditioned myself to tie these new beliefs of who I wanted to be in this future self essence, to tie that with everyday actions that I took every day. And that's why activations, the app, has like 25 categories of cleaning, cooking, walking, anytime, workout, like every type of activity you do during your day. Like when you're doing the dishes, when you're getting ready in the morning, we have something for every moment because the intention is to listen to it. Just like, you know, how Pavlov ring the bell and the dog salivated.
00:34:44
Speaker 1: We all know that's classical conditioning.
00:34:46
Speaker 3: If you listen to a 10 minute walking activation in the morning, when you're taking your dog out every morning for a certain amount of time, soon enough, you don't even need the activation anymore to feel confident and magnetic and radiant every time you're walking in the morning. So I started doing that with every moment of my day, just kind of like slowly and gradually. And I became her. And that's how I reminded myself to be her now. But I say all of this, you don't need activations to transform your life. Like it's just a tool. It's a tool that helps you get there potentially like with a shortcut. Like that's how I have felt. But Obviously, you can remind yourself in other ways. I have a lot of people I've spoken to that I've told this to, and, you know, they'll put reminders on their phone saying, be her now. They'll put like little post-it notes on their bathroom mirror. They'll just like remind themselves in places that they interact with often to just like be in that energy and hold on to it and just like test out how it feels to be the real you. I don't even want to say the new you. Cause I think your future self is the real self. I think that this work is more about unbecoming layers and shedding layers of what you're not as opposed to becoming something you've never been. Like I've never felt more me, you know, now. And it's, it's just, it's the living your best life. This work, I don't want to call it work. It's, it's living your best life. It's feeling the most alive and happy that you could feel.
00:36:27
Speaker 2: This makes so much sense to me. Okay, tell us the code again because I know people want to get real. Activations backslash to get real. Is that right?
00:36:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, just activations.com slash get real. That's what I have written to tell the team to put in.
00:36:40
Speaker 2: Okay, so another question. When you are doing this, this makes so much sense to me because now all of a sudden it's almost like they say like what, 21 days makes a habit or something. So if you are constantly listening to this activating voice in every category of your life, so it's like you could rewire every category of your life. It's like you forget how to think the other way. So I love that, that this is kind of opposite of just like talk therapy because as much as I have loved talk therapy, you are keeping the stories alive. Yes, you're clearing energy with them, but they're still alive. This is kind of just saying like, I'm in a different frequency. Like I, I'm not really even needing to acknowledge that anymore because that's not where I am. And so this is just kind of speaking like, okay, speaking to the future self, not the current self, because the current self is still dealing with the current traumas. The future self has handled them already and has integrated that and is now hanging out here.
00:37:40
Speaker 3: Yeah. And you can be your future self right now.
00:37:43
Speaker 2: Right now. Yeah.
00:37:45
Speaker 3: I almost don't like to, I need to always preface when I say the words future self. And of course, my book is called Activate Your Future Self. I've always needed to say, listen, your future self, you can literally be her right now. And it is not something that you just achieve in the future. No, no, no. I have been my future self for years, actively. And the old self to me is, you know, the version of me that wasn't as happy and fulfilled as she is today. And I actively every single day choose to be the version of myself that I enjoy being the most, that feels the best, that lives the most, you know, abundant life.
00:38:25
Speaker 1: And it works.
00:38:27
Speaker 3: Like when you commit to feeling good, it feels good to feel good. Like it's not, it's not like this, you know, very difficult thing.
00:38:37
Speaker 1: Like you just have to do less of what doesn't make you feel good. And Do more of what does make you feel good.
00:38:42
Speaker 2: And when situations like pressure and finances and stepping out into more responsibility, that can create anxiety. I know for me that has created anxiety and like fear. But I feel like do you honestly think if you listen to activations in that those categories, you can really step into a new vibration with that? Because like right now, I feel like I'm stepping into a new part part of me activating a new part. which I need to just get there because I don't need to do this for days. Now I can activate, I can just immediately decide, but I have fear because it comes new responsibilities, new fear, new visibility, new, you know.
00:39:17
Speaker 1: Maybe it's not even fear.
00:39:19
Speaker 3: Maybe it's just like discomfort because you've never been there before. Like that, whenever I want something that I've never had before, there's always this initial level of like, you know, kind of, like, uneasy discomfort because it's, like, it's unfamiliar, right?
00:39:33
Speaker 2: And you have to learn new things and do new things.
00:39:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, and it feels different, you know?
00:39:38
Speaker 3: And I'll tell you, back in the day when I was, you know, trying to embody Mimi that earns.
00:39:44
Speaker 1: six figures a month.
00:39:45
Speaker 3: It felt unnatural at first because I was like, how could it even feel to make that much money? And it was this feeling of like, whoa, this is totally.
00:39:55
Speaker 1: Different to how I've ever felt.
00:39:57
Speaker 3: But I would continue stepping into that self-image and that standard of life continuously before it ever happened.
00:40:04
Speaker 1: And then I found myself in that position.
00:40:07
Speaker 3: And then that next milestone as well, every time you level up, you first need to just familiarize yourself with how it feels to be that version of you. And that really helps because yes, it's uncomfortable at first because any new thing feels a bit off, but then the more you familiarize yourself with it, the more natural it becomes. And then the more second nature it becomes, and then it's just who you are. So, you know, financially, it's been one of my biggest things that I've transformed in my life. And with activations, it taught me how to It taught me how it felt. It taught me who to be to get to that point. And it was really just this like feeling that these audios injected into me. And we have so many activations in the app for finances, if that's something that anyone listening is interested in. the thing is like listening to one of these is not going to immediately have this like magical check deposited into your account.
00:41:06
Speaker 1: It doesn't work that way.
00:41:07
Speaker 3: What it does do though, is it gets you familiar with the feeling of what it's like to have a certain amount of money. And then you start to think in a new way, the more you listen to something like that. And then you, you just expand your mind and your consciousness to align with something that you've never had before. So one of my favorite categories when it comes to finances in the app, I think it's either under the wealth category or the targeted visualization category in the app. We have so many activations with like very specific dollar amounts, anything from like a thousand dollars, like 10, like tens.
00:41:41
Speaker 1: Of millions of dollars. Like you can literally select anything in between.
00:41:45
Speaker 3: And we have our audio engineers literally create this like cinematic movie score of music to a guided visualization audio that, that literally makes you feel like you are the main character of your life.
00:42:01
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:42:02
Speaker 3: Like you are the main character in your own movie, walking down the street. Like you are creating so much, you know, wealth and abundance and magnetism just by like listening energetically to these audios. You can't describe it until you actually experience it. And that's why from the beginning you, when I launched this business, I was like, we need to do a two week trial. Like we've never done less than that because I want people just to go listen and experience it. Like, I'm so confident that there's nothing else like this out there. And especially because we're such like music snobs in the business, like my audio team, it's like, we have some composers that make music for the top movies and TV shows in the world.
00:42:45
Speaker 1: They literally have.
00:42:46
Speaker 3: Trained to make people feel a certain way, whether they're making a movie score or a documentary score for like, you know, something like a, you know, murder mystery and it's ominous and it's like, you know, makes you feel like you're on edge. Like they know how to make you feel a certain way with the music.
00:43:04
Speaker 2: Right.
00:43:04
Speaker 3: They're creating the opposite is like, if it's like a positive movie where the main character just got what they wanted and they're on top of the world and Like they know how to make the viewer feel a certain way with that. So with activations, I tell them all, we only use music that makes the listener feel like they're literally transforming into this next level version of themselves.
00:43:24
Speaker 1: And I love that.
00:43:26
Speaker 2: That's actually such a powerful effect too. You know, that really does like, it's like, that's how you rewire your brain too. It's hitting so many different, like it's getting there so many different ways.
00:43:38
Speaker 1: There's so many layers.
00:43:39
Speaker 2: Mimi, this is awesome. Okay, so let's tell them the code again. Tell them where everyone can find you, the app, anything we need to know. Let us know all the details right now one more time because this is awesome.
00:43:50
Speaker 1: Oh, thank you.
00:43:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, well, if you guys have resonated at all with what I've said in this podcast, feel free to take advantage of the two weeks that we.
00:44:00
Speaker 1: Offer free of cost to try out the app.
00:44:02
Speaker 3: So just go to activations.com slash getreal.com. And, um, and then you go download the app after and use your existing login details. Um, so that's if you want to get the big discount and you can check out my book, activate your future self. And my Instagram is Mimi Bouchard, but I'm kind of offline. I'm always on a hiatus because I just like, don't love Instagram, but.
00:44:25
Speaker 2: Well, that's good. Yeah. Activations has an Instagram too. Yeah.
00:44:29
Speaker 1: Activations app.
00:44:30
Speaker 3: You can follow us on there and we have, uh, we're very active on there. My team is great on that. So, uh, So, yeah, that's where you can find us.
00:44:38
Speaker 1: And, you know, I hope that this inspired you guys today.
00:44:42
Speaker 2: I love it. I'm so this is so I feel like when you start aligning, when you become when you're becoming her, you know, the version you want to be, you start to align. And I am like been so ready for this. And I am so happy that you flowed into my life because I feel like this is such a powerful tool. Like, I really think that this can help so much. And it's so mindless for the listener. Like it takes no mind energy besides just listening and just like repetition, repetition. And if you have dead time anyway, why not just fill it with something that's going to change you in a positive way? And you won't even, it might even do it said like subtly, how do you say that word? So subtly that you don't even know.
00:45:25
Speaker 1: Exactly. Exactly.
00:45:26
Speaker 3: A lot of people ask, do I need to like be listening to every word? I'm like, no, just listen to it in the background of your life. Listen to it while you're doing, you know, the school drop off.
00:45:35
Speaker 2: Let that be your white noise. Let that be your, the, the static instead of the other static that we just have playing.
00:45:43
Speaker 1: Exactly. It's just about consistency. That's it. You commit to it.
00:45:47
Speaker 3: You will feel a difference if you don't, you won't.
00:45:49
Speaker 1: So it's, that's it.
00:45:50
Speaker 2: Change the background noise. Literally change the background noise in your, in your head.
00:45:55
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:45:55
Speaker 2: Right.
00:45:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
00:45:57
Speaker 2: Okay. Mimi, thank you so much. This was so fascinating. Love getting to talk to you. Y'all go check out activations and change. What, how does it, what's your slogan activations? I don't know. What's your, I think it should be.
00:46:10
Speaker 3: I think, you know what, actually we do have a slogan that I forgot about. Um, I, we haven't used in a while, but activations live your future now.
00:46:19
Speaker 2: I love that. And it's also my slogan is change your background noise. Ooh.
00:46:24
Speaker 1: Okay, we're very aligned here.
00:46:25
Speaker 2: I love that. Okay, Mimi, thank you so much for coming on. Bye.
00:46:30
Speaker 1: Have a good one.
00:46:30
Speaker 2: Bye.
