Speaker 1: We get a stop and all of a sudden, I look up and I see a green shoe flying through the air. And then and then it's like it was just like perfect. All of a sudden, it was like throwing and it hit.
00:00:11
Speaker 2: Marina and I'm like, oh, welcome to game recognized game.
00:00:26
Speaker 3: I'm Aus Turner and I'm back with my co host, Brihanna Stewart. She's been holding it down and the boy's been in Europe for the past thirty days during the off season. But I'm back to him. Man, I'm back state side. What's up? Stut? What I've been missing? Man?
00:00:38
Speaker 1: Honestly, I feel like we've been missing it all. The Knicks won the championship. We didn't even talk about that. The Knicks won the championship. New York was crazy, fireworks for like a week straight. My dog was not happy about it. But we're really happy for the Knicks. The World Cup is happening in New York. Really excited that it's going to be Spain Argentina final. Have you been watching that at all?
00:01:03
Speaker 3: I have. Actually, it's crazy because you know, I was overseas. I was in Morocco when they were playing. I was in Portugal when they were playing. I was in Italy when they were playing. I was in France, and it's like it's crazy, like how just passionate, like the fans are overseas compared to America, you know what I mean. Soccer is not like a huge, huge doing America, but over like over the pond, like it's everything. You got people gathering, thousands of people watching it just hat like a bar outside, like it's bringing a whole bunch of people together. So it was cool to watch it like in a different setting, an environus but looking forward to the finals.
00:01:34
Speaker 1: For real, yeah, absolutely. I mean we were in we were in Seattle when Mexico was playing, and they were like showing the game on a barge, like on a big screen that barge, and there was just like tons of people just like right by the water watching the game. And the amount of like incredible amount of passion and pride behind these these countries is really cool. So I'm rooting for Spain because you know, of course Spanish at this point, but but I'm hoping it's gonna be a good game. Because of our travel situation, we're no longer going to be able to go to the match going to Dallas. Yeah, but we can get into that later. The bigger thing. Congrats to you in Asia.
00:02:19
Speaker 3: Appreciate it. Man. When I had to shut it down, it's been a it's been about a year and a half of planning. But everything went perfectly bro like you know, God was on my side for real, you know, like the weather was amazing, Like there wasn't a lot of people. I mean, she literally had no idea what's coming. But we could talk about a little bit later. Man, I'll tell you give you the details I got.
00:02:39
Speaker 1: I only got one question. I got one question. We talked about the rest later. How long did you have the ring for?
00:02:46
Speaker 3: I had it for about I've had since last summer. Actually, you know I was I was thinking about doing it last offseason, but we got always in the NBA Finals, right, so cut the off season short. So obviously it wasn't complaining. But you know, I knew for a long time that you know, Asian wasn't one for me, and you know, I think everything happened in very perfect timing. So I I'm very happy with my decision. I'm in a really good space and we're just it to exist now. Man, it's pretty dope.
00:03:14
Speaker 1: I'm really happy for you guys. Wait for the wedding.
00:03:17
Speaker 3: I know, man, I know that's you know, you don't think about that, right, Like I put in so much planning, like towards the engagement itself. I didn't think about like the next step. So then like it hit me like two days later, it was like, oh, so we're getting married. I was like, oh ship, we are getting married. So yeah, we're talking through all that stuff right now. Man, We're not gonna rush it, but we're gonna do it the right way. Sure.
00:03:39
Speaker 1: Really happy for you guys.
00:03:40
Speaker 3: Appreciate it. Man, Yo, what happened? Dog? Like? For real? Like, let's go on talking about it. I have my tickets ready to go. You know, Stewie was supposed to play in Dallas, you know, against the Wings, and I had seat, you know, to go watch you play this past Sunday, but she ain't make it. So like telling people what it what's up? What happened to your perspective?
00:03:57
Speaker 1: Well, Miles like texting me and he was like, I think it was on Thursday. The game is supposed to be Thursday, right, And he texted me like, oh, see you in the game, see you at the game. I'm coming. I got my tickets whatever, and I was like, no, don't come, don't. I was like, what, I'm not it. We're in New York now, So okay. It was crazy, like this is my first like actual travel situation, like hard travel situation since we've had charters. But we got to the we got to the plane. You know how it is, like you do your little security, get right on the plane, like usually you're on the plane for twenty minutes and then you guys will take off. And we were waiting there and I was like, what's going on? And they were like, we need to we need to add more fuel because we're gonna go through a storm, right, So we do that. Then next thing, you know, this thing is not working. Something is not working. They can't get it fixed, can't get it fixed, can't get it fixed. Finally they get it fixed, right and now we've already been on the plane for three hours. Then something else breaks and you know at this point and it's just like, all right, this is just bad juju. Like I don't want to mess I don't want to be messing around if the plane is just like not good. So then we're still on the plane. Like doors shut. Everybody's eating all the meals, all the snacks, like we're running out of all the things because we're on a live runway, like can't get off the plane. And it gets to like eight eight, probably eight o'clock, so we've been on the plane for five hours and they're like, Okay, we're not taking this plane anymore. We have a new plane. It's coming from I think it was coming from Phoenix.
00:05:39
Speaker 3: Damn, that's gonna land.
00:05:41
Speaker 1: That's gonna land, or they're gonna clean it. They're gonna get the people off, and then we're gonna get on the plane. And we're like okay, So we were thinking we're gonna take off at nine forty five. We like because we were like on like a live tarmac. We had to like get off the plane and like walk like they were like walk single file into the next plane. So it was great to get fresh air after like eight hours on that on that first plane. But then we get on the plane and we're like, okay, are we going to finally go, Like we're gonna get in super late. It's gonna be like one am already by the time we land. And then they're like, well, we don't have any pilots.
00:06:20
Speaker 3: Oh my god, bro, our other.
00:06:23
Speaker 1: Pilots timed out right, So the pilots timed out and there was no more pilots coming, and they were like, this plane is not taken off tonight. So we I mean, it was literally like, what what can we do? Like what could we have done? So we went home and then like you know, we weren't going to travel the morning of the game. It's three hours to get to Dallas, Like it just wouldn't make sense. So luckily, like the league and our team, we figured out a solution and we'll play Monday, so it's not like super disruptive to anybody's schedule. We play Monday, so we just flip flopping.
00:07:05
Speaker 3: Right, damn, bro, I I totally understand where you're coming from. So it's funny that that obviously sucks that it happened. But like, this year was the most playing issues I've ever had, like in my eleven years in the league, like I can count, I think it was eleven times that we had problems with planes and all similar stuff, like you know, we had we were I've never been up playing for ten hours. Bless your heart. That that was. That's crazy, but like I remember, it was the last game of the season. We had just we you know, we had a shitty season, and you know, everybody's ready to get home at this point, right, it's the off season. Yeah, and everything that could have been wrong went wrong. Same thing. Like, we get to the tarmac, and then there's like a mechanical issue, right, so they have guys come out and try to fix it. Then we smell something and it's like it's like it was like smell like smoke or some shit like that. So then they shut that shit down. They had someone come fix that. Then we get there. Then we're running out of fuel because it's been running you know for a little bit. Right, we're on a live tarmac as well, that don't allow us to take off off. And then like after like four or five hours, you probably get to the air. But it's the worst when it's in the season, Like you got a game the next day and then you're traveling and you're landing in the next city at four m you gotta be up for nine am for shoot around. Like you know, it's it's just one of those things where it's just out of your control. But you know, I'm glad nothing went wrong, right, because you don't want anything to obviously, you know, be fucked up when you're in the air.
00:08:20
Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, no, I mean that's the thing is like I think people maybe some people don't realize it's like like when you're waiting like that, it's kind of like a tests like to your mental because I'm like, all right, like you know, like I need a plan, like all right, I'm going to get in late, I'm going to get less sleep. I need to like make sure like this is obviously all of these next three games for us are our big games before the break, and I was proud of my team, like we just continue to like nobody was everybody was chilling. We were all just sitting there like all right. I watch some shows like.
00:08:55
Speaker 3: That's wow, bro, so what.
00:08:56
Speaker 1: We got here? We're in Indie now and I'm here.
00:08:58
Speaker 3: So come on, you got a little you know, like you say, it's three games, you're kind of at the push point right now. But honestly, that's that's a good little gear switch. So like you know me, you know, I watch I watch games here and there, but then what always sticks out are is the drama that comes being in the w n B A or the NBA, and I saw Benija you know, may or may not have a projectile at Marina Mabery And that was pretty interesting, bro, So please talk to the people about what went down there.
00:09:27
Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I mean, like poor b right, because she didn't throw it to hit her, like you know what I mean, what happened JJ, Her shoe fell off right, And it's like tight moment in the game, like fourth quarter, We're trying to come back, push, come back, whatever. We get a stop and all of a sudden, I look up and I see a green shoe flying through the air and then and then it's like it was just like perfect. All of a sudden, it was like throwink and it hit Marina and I'm like, oh, so, like you know, the rough are going to do what they do. Like, I don't think she was ejected from that. That was just her second.
00:10:07
Speaker 3: Tech got it okay, okay.
00:10:09
Speaker 1: So like it wasn't like automatic ejection. It was just a tech. But yeah, that was That was one of the craziest things I've ever been a part of. I was just like, because I didn't know where it came from. I was just like, what is happening right.
00:10:22
Speaker 3: In slow motion. Oh my god, bro, that's hilarious. I think that, you know, again, like if you're not watching the game, you just see that like online and whatnot. Like w Amgen's with it once. Right, that's a whole bunch of clicks. That's a whole bunch of like, you know, crazy shit. But I don't know, man, But again, I think that it just comes to the job being the league. But on a higher note, you know, all starts coming around, no no break for you. You're out your uh for the eight time, six consecutive starter. Congratulations on making it, you know, just to tell the people, like I guess what it means to be such a consummate and consistent starter, because that's something that's not easy to do, you know, at the highest level.
00:11:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think first of all, you know, I would like to say thank you to the fans because you know, you know, fan voting is majority of what gets all stars starting. And really happy in the honor to to always continue to be representing the league and uh, it's just the work that continues to shine through and push through. So excited for the opportunity, Excited to be in Chicago, again for All Star And you know, I don't know about you, but like All Star break is kind of like something that I look forward to just to like be able to like disconnect from second from like my team. Not to say anything bad about my team, like you know what I mean, Like I'm just tired of doing my plots and I'm tired of doing my prep and I'm tired, Like I just need like something to like shake it up for a second. Yeah, So I'm really I'm looking forward to it. It's gonna be a fun weekend, jam packed for sure. And listen, I got all my huskies. I'm the same team. So like bro I did a great job. She did a great job drafting us, and I'm really excited.
00:12:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, man, that's dope. I personally, you know, love the festivities that come just with All Start weekend. You know, like yourself as saying, like you get in this routine, right, you see the same people every single day. You've seen your teammates more than you're senior your family you know, at some point, so like it's you know, it's just a good little reset. It's a good time for the fans. Chicago is a great host city too. I mean, it's awesome that you have to go out there in the summertime. I was gonna go, but you know, one of my teammates is actually getting married, so I'm gonna be at his wedding, you know, next weekend. So yeah, I had to miss that. But again, I'm kind of happy that to see you and Gabby hoop together. Man. You know, Gabby is one of my favorite players, so it's kind of cool singeing on the same team. And you know, should have ten All Stars, but I think I guess Team USA is a little more important.
00:12:47
Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, we like It's like, I'm sure there's like things in the NBA that kind of like are messed up. But like before when the when the league started, they didn't count Olympic team as an All Star because they just took the break. So then there never was an All Star, right, so for my first two there was just no All Star, no for you know what I mean. So like gets it not? So it's like I was on Candis in Elia's podcast the other day and it's like Candas is a seven time or an eight time All Star, and it's like, well, she should be like a ten eleven based on how many team you know says she's played and things like that. So it's a little bit skewed, but whatever, we'll getting up there.
00:13:37
Speaker 3: What it is? How does the how do y'all, I guess take all the All Star game itself? Because there's been a lot of arguments on the NBA sidellite, you got to play harder, you know, it's obviously, you know, a competitive game, you know, make it better for the fans. Like how are y'all going to take it?
00:13:51
Speaker 1: I mean, I think it gets competitive after the first half, but also like it's not a break for us, you know what I mean? So we New York we play on Wednesday, Yeah, and then our next game is on Tuesday.
00:14:07
Speaker 3: Ah sucks, man, I mean right.
00:14:10
Speaker 1: You can't get you can't expect people to go like bolls of walls because you've got to be like good for your team. Of course, so it'll get it'll get competitive as it gets swarts to end, but yeah, I gotta have we gotta have more time if you want to be able to like really go crazy.
00:14:28
Speaker 3: No, that's facts. Well, the WNBA is pretty interesting this year. I look at it like, y'all, are y'all look like the Eastern Conference in the NBA, you know, everything's so kind of jumped up right now. You got the top eighteens are only separated by six games, Like, why is the league so tight this year? You know, what do you think it's? Like? Attribute to that.
00:14:47
Speaker 1: I think that the like the margin for error is really small. I think that especially as we've had expansion, Right, so you you added team thirteen, fourteen to fifteen over the past two seasons, and like that talent is spreading out, which means it's getting really, really competitive, and you're seeing that on a nightly basis, Like nobody's really ever blowing anybody out. Yeah, it's you know, it's a two to three persession game at all times, and especially towards the end. And I think that that's really showing and kind of shining through. I think that it's only gonna it's only going to get better and better or harder and harder as we expand even more. But yeah, the liberty, we're you know, first first twenty four games of this season, wet about how we starts, about how we finished. I think that my mindset with the team is like, all right, right, we want to finish these next three games strong, let's reset at All Star, and then we have like ten eleven games, right, and then we have a World Cup break there you go, So like we got to like handle these mini seasons, and then when we come back from World Cup break, it's four games and then it's playoffs. So we want to make sure like by that point we're really feeling good, we're really jelling. So I'm not I'm not worried. I just think that there's like, you know, some some growing pains, some things that we got to get through. But everybody has like the right attitude to.
00:16:18
Speaker 3: Do it absolutely man. And again you said the least competitive share, and that obviously it's great, you know, just for you know, from a viewership standpoint, but you know, you got a great rookie class and the CBS brought in a lot more, you know, the money that's been able to get for that sprout and great foreign players. But you touch on it, that's one thing as as NBA players don't really have to go through, are the little mini seasons. You know what I mean, you guys have such mental like lock in you have to do you know what I mean, You go out, you go and play in the World Cup where you get you have these little breaks, but then you have to come back from that. No matter how good the World Cup goes, you got to come back from that, you know, into the last shrets of the season, then switch your mindset again for the playoffs. So I just think that is something that's very underrated. You know, people don't get to necessarily, you know, experience if you will, you know, from a fan perspective.
00:17:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, it'll be really interesting. I think that people should like, I mean, I know people will, right, take a snapshot of the standings by All Star break, and then take a snapshot of the standings by World Cup break, and then let's see like how the playoffs go, you know what I mean, the standing's going into the playoffs, because I think it'll be it'll be changing, like almost on a nightly basis. All right, time for a quick break. Next up, we get into the biggest topics in the NBA. Please rate, review, and subscribe to Game Recognized Game. We're Stulli in Miles wherever you get your podcasts, Welcome back to Game Recognized Game. We're Stilly in Miles, And like, this is the biggest topic that I want to talk about because I want to know what you think, and then I want you to know what I think, even if you don't want to know. Like, where do you think Lebron's gonna go? He obviously said he's not going back to l A. Like what's what's this? What's next?
00:18:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's obviously interesting because even at Bron's age, he still wants to get paid right, you know, he still wants to make sure he has an opportunity to go on the right terms and win. You know, it's tough the way the Leeds been doing our stars lately, you know what I mean when it comes to their exits. You know, we kind of saw the Carmel Anthony treatment, you know, kind of what he got. You saw, you know, these guys retiring, it's like not like a real farewell tour. It's almost like, you know, get to get the fuck out of your tour. And you know, Bron's one of the best, if not the greatest player you know, of our generation, and you know, puts puts his argument in there her of all time. So there's gonna be a lot of adyes, you know in this situation. You know, Adam Silber just came out the other day and say, like, listen, we need to make a decisions. I gotta start making this schedule. You know, he draws the most attentions, So I think that for someone like himself, Cleveland makes sense. You know, you go out, you know, playing for your hometown team. You want a championship for that team. I think it's good for the league personally. You know, if he makes that move, I'm a sleeper choice to be the Sixers just because that's kind of getting like the most like you know, hype if you will, where he kind of does have a chance to go out there and be competitive. But my pig is sleep. You know, want to see what to see where we're at? What do you think?
00:19:20
Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm just like again, you're gonna.
00:19:22
Speaker 3: Go back again? Right with the last Stevenson treatment.
00:19:26
Speaker 1: It's funny, honestly, I don't know. I think I'm getting like all cut up in it. I'm getting all cut up and everything. Like I saw he was a fanatics and then he said trust the process. So then I'm like, all right, are you going to seventy six ers? Then I saw like Riley said, we got another plane to land, and so I'm like, all right, so you try to get him in Miami again. I think Miami. I think it goes to Miami.
00:19:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I see that. You know, you're in South Beach. You gets to kind of go out kind of in the sunset and whatnot. It's not a not a bad destination whatsoever. I think that again, you know, you gotta make the money work and whatnot. I mean these teams, you know, with this cast space and this apron or when it's it's interesting how you're able to make stuff, you know, come together. So I really don't know. I mean, you know, people, I mean, other people talk about his golden state. You know, obviously I still can't stay out there in California, still go out with step in them and whatnot. But I think he's gone back to the East, you know, no matter what. I just think that that's kind of inevitable at this point.
00:20:24
Speaker 1: Maybe he's gonna come to the nets, to.
00:20:26
Speaker 3: The nets, the Brooklyn Nets. You think Lebron James going to the Brooklyn Nets.
00:20:30
Speaker 1: I don't know, listen really close for me, like I'll be able to appreciate his greatness like live and in the flesh. So maybe come on, you know, you know, everybody can dream you know this does that never say never come on?
00:20:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like me saying, you know what, you know, he could potentially come to Milwaukee at this point, even if he even does hait all the hotels in the city of Milwaukee and we'll see.
00:20:53
Speaker 1: All right, moving on. I know you just came back from like your your your World tour, But have you been able to to kind of catch up on any summer league or watch the highlights, Like, uh, what do you think about the rookies? Yeah, Caleb Wilson, he seems to really be be kind of the one that's going after it and really I think he's playing in all the games.
00:21:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, no, man, it's been it's been fun. I think it's a really good draft class. You know, off Rip, just to let you know, I mean, like I was bummed with Kayle Wilson didn't play at the end of the year last year he like broke his stumb or something, because he was one of my favorite players of watching college. He's got the right mentality, he's got the right frame, and he's just he's a dog man. He plays at the he's playing at a really high level right now. So he's been fun to watch. I think camera uh, Camera Boo's as good as advertised. You know that's another uh you know player's been solid over there in Memphis as well. I mean you obviously, I mean aj uh. The band says like star written all over him because he's I think he's been prepared for this level for you know, for a long time, so he's making it look easy. You know. Darren Peterson over to Utah, he's I knew he was a scorer, but he's I didn't realize how a fish, you know he was, you know, I mean again to his spots and whatnot. So he's fun to watch, very much move. You know, he's taller than you think. I think he's like six four six five, it might be sixty six At this point. I think he's a you know, he's a tall than like what what he appears. Obviously, our our point, our young point guard is playing really well. You know, Brandon Burr's he's playing at a high level. Watched him play in the March Madness last year, and you know, I wasn't aware of just how talented he was. You know, he plays bigging out what his frame is. I think he's only twenty years old, and I think he's gonna be someone who get real legitimate playing time, you know, for us this season. I like the kid from Cleveland to Malie Thomas. I think he's he's playing. I think he might be averaging the most points. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I think he's playing like at a huge level. I know th guy I really like, you know, sleeper might not watch him too much. Is Graham Ika. You know he's playing over there, He's from Gonzaga, He's a big man. He's playing really well, you know over the West Coast. I think that he's someone that didn't get a chance to really get to shine through as much as he wanted through the draft. But you know, he went on and I think he's playing an extremely high level, like on both ends of the floor. So it's fun to watch him play for the Golden Stick.
00:23:07
Speaker 1: So like basically like question, because like you're not a lottery pick. You don't get drafted, right, you get you get asked to play summer league for a team. You're now going there trying to get a training camp roster spot, right, Like that's the main goal, is like, Hey, I want to get picked up for training camp because I know I could be a two way or whatever.
00:23:26
Speaker 3: Right, yeah, exactly, you know that's the thing. You go in there and he's someone who played he was a little bit older. We know he played in college or whatnot. And the tough part is you don't get you doing a dance far in the NAA tournament. Like guys don't get to see you play as much. Scouts watch you, but they don't get to see you play at that like high level, right, so you may not get the most out of that process as you will, as you would want to. So when you get the summer league and you do dominate, it's like, oh shit, okay, you know what, maybe we give this kid a chance. We can give sign to an Exhibit ten deal, which is you know, like a training camp deal, or we we have three or four two way spots, so we potentially have signed you too. So you are literally, you know, fighting for your life, you know at that point, yeah, you know every minute counts in the summer league. But then you show up, you work out the month and a half before Summer league at facility, then you get the training camp. You know, you start playing pickup and again like you give us LF an opportunity because you know, overseas is different on our side of things, right, the women go overseas and you get a huge opportunity to get some money and do your thing, whereas us, it's like, obviously most of the money is here state side, you know what I mean. So I do think the undrafted route is obviously one of the harder ways to get it, but it's the most rewarding, if you.
00:24:35
Speaker 1: Will, Yeah, definitely. I mean you can't say it's never been done, So I think that's for them. It's like they have there's there's plenty of undrafted players that have made made names for themselves and that's what they continue to kind of like strive after. Okay, the next thing, you know, Wemby lost in the finals and he was like said, like at one point he said he wasn't sure if he's in a comeback. Well he's coming back. He is coming back to San Antonio and he took less money. Like what's your thoughts on this? Is this helpful to bring in other star power? Maybe Lebron's in to go to San Antonio or like, like like what would in Wenby's situation? What why would he what would he be thinking.
00:25:19
Speaker 3: Well, it's it's interesting because that formula just worked, right, Jalen Brunson just did it and New York Knicks won the one the finals. You know, by Jaylen Brunston be able to do it, they were able to bring in, you know, for agents and resign some guys to build a team around him. You know, he obviously is someone who has been deserving of money for a long time, but he decided not to let his team build around it. So I think san Antonio trying to take the same approach. You know, san Antonio is, in my opinion, a very attractive free agent destination just because of the how well the organization has created a reputation for itself. I mean, you're in Texas, so you know, you have no state tax and you get to go out and play with the generational player, you know, in Whimpy himself. So I think that there's a whole thing on cap circumvention you know, going around right now, and it's kind of like reverse cap circumvension at this point, you know, guys taking like less money to make guys come into play. So I think it's you can always kind of play Devil's advocate. You know, with the situation like this, I think that you know, you can't argue the results. It just worked in New York, so you know, we'll see what happens in San Antonio.
00:26:24
Speaker 1: You know, I think when when do people need to like sign by or when is like the date that they can start signing.
00:26:31
Speaker 3: I think July July one is when free agents can start signing. But I don't think they can sign until like July seventh or July fifth. It is one of those days. I know, July one is like the first day like guys can like start you know, signing.
00:26:44
Speaker 1: And whatnot, and then it goes into whenever.
00:26:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, basicallys to training. There's a bunch of there's a bunch of free agents that aren't signed yet, like Jalen Durn hasn't got his situation, Detroit you know worked out yet, Ben Attic, Maathrin, you know, great young player, and Los Angeles hasn't got his contract yet.
00:27:01
Speaker 1: Obviously Dominos to fall like once that happens, like then there'll be more space on other teams or vice versa.
00:27:08
Speaker 3: Exactly. Yeah, So it's interesting because it can this can go all the way up toil training camp. You know this, There's been a situation in the past where guys didn't participate in training cam because they weren't signed yet. You know, they wanted to wait until they got the best deal possible. I mean, I think it just happened. It just happened last year with was a Quentin Grimes like he is. Deal didn't get done like all the up toil training camp. So, I mean, you know, guys is uh man, the future on the line like that, they got mouse to feed and they're not a lot of these guys are to It's the prime maate with money making times of our career, you know what I mean, you can't some guys can't afford to wait another offseason or another four years to sign like a big contract, and they want to do it like right now. You know. I just obviously I just went through it, you know, last offseason. So it's just an interesting time people's lives.
00:27:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think you just always got a bet on yourself and you can't rush the process.
00:27:55
Speaker 3: No, no, absolutely not. All right, y'all to have one more brain next up and go off the court, get a little personal man, Let y'all, Let y'all know what was what was happened in my head.
00:28:05
Speaker 1: I know I'm enough welcome back to the game recognized game with Stuie and Miles, and it's time for Stuie's parent corner from my parent corner. A lot of people have been asking me, like if I'm bringing my kids to All Star, and yes, I am. I definitely want to bring them to All Star, even though it's like crazy. Obviously they don't come out like I have the help with me to like be able to to kind of do both. But I want them to see me in my element and like, honestly, listen, sometimes when I go shopping, I buy things that I don't actually need but it's really so cute. So I was in Atlanta and I went to like bucket mall right, and all of a sudden, I see, like, you know, a button up shirt for u Tao and this like same like blue striped dress for Ruby nice, but it's off white, Like it's off white, it's not just like any regular And I was like, all right, what's gonna be the occasion for this? And now it's like we're gonna like be perfectly matching the four of us for All Star for like the orangefit, the welcome reception. Yeah, they're like they're now at a point where okay they're four and two, but they like kind of listen a little bit more. So we'll see how it goes.
00:29:43
Speaker 3: It's gonna be very stimulating if you will, you know, I mean all the cameras and the fans and whatnot. But I really think it's gonna be like to your point a memory, you know what I mean, Like, this's that's cool that you know, maybe ten years from now you get videos you have to showing these pictures and whatnot, and they were involved in such a big moment in your career. So that's awesome.
00:30:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're gonna be like, you know, thinking that they're getting dressed up too. So we'll circle back in a week and a half and I'll let you know how it actually went. But really, really what I want to know, because I've been waiting this whole time, like tell us, tell us about your engagement Star Wars themed engagement, Like.
00:30:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, give us a rundown, all right, man? So this is a it was pretty dope. So I've been planning this for like a year year and a half at this point, right, and for me, personally, I'm a very detailed oriented person like and somewhat a perfectionists, you know when I'm putting stuff together. So I was watching Attack of the Clones. It's a second episode of Star Wars, and for my Star Wars fans after that, No Anakin and Padme, this is basically where they went to a lope, you know, when things said it done. It was like a forbidden wedding and whatnot. And I looked it up and I was like, oh, wow, this is a real place. It wasn't cgi wasn't that. It was actually like a real place. It took place in the planet of the Goop. And there's a villa called Villa Balbianello, and it's a very historic villa. It's like been there since like the seventeen hundreds at this point, like or don't fact check me on that, but like it's been around for quite some time. Right. So it's a super super super like big tourist destination, right. They get like one hundreds of thousands of people that visit to go there a year. So my head I was like thinking, humm, I don't care how much money this cost. I'm gonna rent out this villa to myself for us to have for at least two to three hours, right, So literally eight months in advance, I rented out this villa. Right at this point, I'm at the mercy of the weather. You know, things going perfectly, you know, water conditions or the boat, YadA, YadA, YadA. For whatever reason, there's an unprecedented heat wave going on in Europe. Right, So that was probably the only like challenging factor, if you will. But the details are everything to me, right, So when I got there, I told them, listen, I want a infany orchestra hiding like in the villa itself behind everybody, and whenever I get down on one knee, we're gonna walk up there and Simpey Orchestra's gonna play like three or four of our favorite songs. So that was a cool, little detailed, little cavia that I was able to do. And how I was able to hide it from her was I went all in on the Star Wars like nerding out stuff. I said, Babe, this is someplace I've wanted to go my entire life. They filmed Star Wars here, that Phil James Bond here, Like I'm gonna get a tour, a tour guy for us that we're going to go through and like walk through the entire village. She's gonna tell us all the historical parts of it and whatnot. Right, So I got the tour guy. I was like, Yo, listen, I want you to walk us to this very scenic point. Right, there's a point at the villa where the mountains and the ocean kind of meat. I love the mountains. I'm always in a mountain or beach kind of guy. And she loves the water. So there's a point where the two kind of intersect. And if you look at the mountains themselves, they're like lush and they're green. In order for the mountains to thrive, they need water. So like she's been in my life, she's been someone who's literally been able to water my garden, be able to make me thrive and everything that I do. And there's I was able to kind of caption the very picturesque moment. So the villa itself was beautiful. I was I wasn't nervous. I was just anxious, you know what I mean.
00:33:13
Speaker 1: Like I was able to enjoy it, Like the Star Wars part.
00:33:17
Speaker 3: Not really bro Like I was able to, you know, put some stuff together and have fun with it. But you know, for me, I was just really ready to get it done right because the entire day we avoted over from the hotel and obviously it's all I'm thinking about and whatnot. And we finally get there and it's like, okay, damn, it's game time. Right. Funny a couple of little things that went down, So I told the tour guys, so, yo, listen, I need you to give me a keyword, like you're gonna be talking about something. And when I hear this word, I think the word was exclusive. Once I hear that word, I know it's time. So I have my security guard with me, right, and I had uh, he had the ring. I didn't have the ring in my pocket. So there was a couple of things that were kind of giving away, right. So we start the tour and we went upstairs and there's this fucking cameraman bro. He was trying to hide behind a bush. And we get upstairs and we look out the window and there's just a random guy in a bush. So she's like, that's weird, right, And I'm like, oh my god, no way. I waited a year and a half, spoiled like this, but thank god, she didn't really put two and two together. She thought that since we were having exclusive tour at the villa, it was like the villa trying to get exclusive miles, turning footage coming to the villa whatever, right, So we were able to kind of exit that out. So we get downstairs and we're walking through and my here guard had the ring, bro, So I heard the word exclusive. I walked her to the point and that We're just kind of standing there all awkward, and she was like, what are we doing? I was like, well, this is a great this is a great spot for pictures. Let's you know, going in chill. And I had a photographer with us, right, so we're taking picture doing this, this and that, and I was like, god, damn, I think how am I going to get this ring without her sing? So there's this grass whatever, and I was like, you know what, babe, let's take our shoes off, let's ground a little bit, let's you know, let this be in this moment whatever, right, So take my shoes off and I run over to the bell. I'm like, yo, give me the fucking ring, bro, what are we doing? And just like here. So I get out there and then you know, obviously, you know, I say all the things that I wanted to say. I didn't have any speech like pre written. I just kind of spoke from the heart whatever, right, And the scene was perfect, bro, the weather was perfect, like you know, obviously you know, she didn't see it coming at all. And yeah, I got down the ring, I got down on the knee, put the ring on the wrong finger at first, and then you know, say everything I needed to say, and it was just a very amazing and beautiful time. It came together really nice, and again I think she's very appreciative of it, saw the detail and the plan that went into it, because it was really just a dream day. And then it was actually cool. It actually intersected on the day that was like a in Lake Como, there's this day where they commemorate their history. It's basically their July fourth. So at nighttime, we went to a really nice dinner overlooking like everything, and right straight from the dinner, we voted over to this island and we watched the whole fireworks show and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. So it was a dream day came together and a really cool moment for you know my family and ourselves.
00:36:01
Speaker 1: That's amazing and like so detail oriented. I think, like, you know, she's got to obviously be a static but like I said, super appreciative of like you thought through almost everything that could possibly be done, and like this was this was pretty early in your trip.
00:36:17
Speaker 3: No, yeah, it was like this the beginning of the Yeah, it was like the eighth or ninth day of the trip. Yeah.
00:36:23
Speaker 1: Oh so then you got to have like a fiance trip. Yeah, like a celebration trip.
00:36:30
Speaker 3: It was awesome, man, bro, It's literally just it was that too. Bro. I was kept calling my girlfriend that I was like, oh wait, wait, it's my fiance, right. We go to different destinations and people are so happy for us. They see the ring and got straight with like you know mad respective when we were going and again, man, it was awesome, bro. Like I could sit here and try to talk about it and talk you through it, but it was such a magical moment that like words can't describe, you know, it was awesome.
00:36:52
Speaker 1: It's something that you guys both remember forever. But like I said before, really really happy for you. I think that when you find your person, you don't want to let them go and you knew Asian was your your one and excited to see like what continues to come from the both of you. And yeah, I'll be waiting for my wedding invitation in the mail.
00:37:12
Speaker 3: You already know, bro, you just do a lot of podcast. The wet reception, Hell no, they gonna be.
00:37:19
Speaker 1: You said it's gonna be cut.
00:37:22
Speaker 3: That's great, Oh man, Bro, I bet I'm glad to be back, man for real, Like obviously I was able to enjoy ahead of time, but you know, I was looking forward to kind of getting back into so you know, get back to the pod wrapping, and it's gonna be a good rest of the rest of the off season, the rest for you, man. So yeah, look back at it.
